Chapter 51
Kagome walked slowly to the front of her establishment. Her heels beat against the pavement as she approached the sidewalk leading to her restaurant. Moths danced around a few streetlights along the way. The heavy foreboding feeling sat in her stomach like bricks. The late night air is all but suffocating. Bright headlights from cars and distant laughter rang in the background. All white noise as her mind focused on the calloused aura sitting idly inside of her own establishment. A hand reached out and touched her shoulder reassuringly.
"It's almost over, Kagome." Kikyo stated as she walked next to her sister in solidarity.
Kagome turned in her steps to look at her big sister. Tired lines had begun to grace the corner of Kikyo's deep brown eyes. Her long glossy hair that hung down her back during the show, was now swept up into a high ponytail. Her elegant red dress still adorned her body but with torn slits going up the sides. Kagome could tell Kikyo grabbed knives and converted some napkins into ofudas laced with miko energy. The ingenuity of her sister never went unnoticed by the younger sibling.
Kagome relished in her sister's presence. Strong and supportive. Despite everything they had gone through, they stood triumphantly together. Kagome knew that regardless of whatever was supposed to happen, Kikyo would always have her back. A sense of shame washed over Kagome briefly and left a bitter taste in the back of her throat. She reached for her sister's hand and gripped hers tightly. "Thank you Kikyo. I love you. I love you a thousand times over. I hope you know it. Even if I was horrible at showing it." She whispered into the night.
Kikyo gently rubbed her sister's palm and nodded her head. Danger now licked their toes. Their lives hung in the balance conveniently after a successful show of both of their talents. Demons were so Shakespearean. Something about the end, making her feel comfortable despite the danger they were surely walking themselves in. "I know Kagome. I love you too. Never forget." Kikyo smirked and touched the tip of Kagome's nose with her other finger.
"Stop!" Kagome nearly shrieked playfully. "Oh my God! Inuyasha is rubbing off on you!"
A flicker of demonic energy pressed heavily upon their shoulders. The feel of Inuyoukai power covered the area. The few demons in the area grabbed their companions and scuffled about. The warning made clear of the deadly intent as well as the enforcement of movement for the two mikos. Both women shook their heads.
"You think they'll stick to the plan?" Kagome asked with a sigh.
Kikyo withdrew her finger and turned back towards their destination. "Absolutely not. Let's just hope that their instincts do not override their common sense." Kikyo began walking again, this time never letting go of her sister's hand.
Kagome nodded. Everyone needed to play their part for this all to work. This was not a battle to rush in and kill. Reina clearly had an advantage as she set up this impromptu meeting. No doubt Reina was prepared for anything. Afterall, she somehow was able to get past her barrier. Granted the barrier was shitty but who breaks into a miko's restaurant in this day and age? How desperate does one have to be anyway to do all of this? They were all sure that Reina planned to make a move regardless. Her ways seemed to have a pattern. Big. Chaostrophic. Casualties. Reina had no qualms about getting rid of innocent people. And a desperate demoness who cared not for lives, especially human ones, was a danageorus being.
So it was best to keep this low and play to Reina's perceived plans. Keep casualties down to minimum. Goading her and getting the public involved would only end in devastation. And Reina clearly had a working network of demons willing to keep her at power for the sake of demon purity and supremacy. So everyone was playing their part. Souta was at a club making a public appearance to show that everything was good and normal. He was highly upset but understood his role. He was accompanied by Shippo and Shiori.
Much to their chagrin but understanding, Touga, Inukimi, and Izayoi were seemingly home with Rin. Serving as protective measures for the pup. They had in fact taken Rin and went to an undisclosed location, just in case Reina hired someone to try to do something dirty. In the meantime, their homes were being monitored and inspected by the police. Some lowly demons were already apprehended for trespassing with clear motives of foul play.
Sesshomaru and Inuyasha were nearby waiting. The women could feel the vibrations of their anger seemingly through the magnetic force of the earth. They were pissed. And rightfully so. They had to operate in stealth unlike the world that they grew up in. When one could stand in front of an opponent and fight head on. They couldn't do that now. Societal rules and bureaucracy at play against their kind prohibited that behavior. But that wasn't going to stop them. They went around making appearances at certain places. They too played a role that everything was fine. They were last seen as a group allegedly going to Kouga's penthouse and rounding out the festivities there.
Kagome's restaurant staff had been notified of what was going on. Some of them she could see and sense were hanging around the restaurant as she approached. Their eyes making eye contact as they stood seemingly ready for anything. Kagome looked down and saw the speckles of white powder. Understanding reflected into her gaze as she pulled her shoulders back some more. Kikyo paused at the door to peek down the block. "Does she have a battle boomerang? How on earth..."
Kagome looked down the block to see Sango standing boldly on the sidewalk with her boomerang gripped into her hands. Her eyes were blazed as she stood as if she had done this many times. And knowing Sango being from a long line of demon slayers, she probably had. "Yep. That's her baby." Kagome confirmed unmoved by the sight as if it was perfectly normal to have such a weapon in the middle of Paris and out in public. Miroko stood next to her with his hands stuffed into his black leather jacket pockets. He looked like a perfectly normal French civilian, minus the lady with the giant boomerang at his side. He shrugged his shoulders at them and pointed with his chin at their place. Everyone was anxious. Everyone wanted to get this over with. If battle and death was on the table, then so be it.
"Let's go." Kagome muttered before reaching for the door and yanking it open, followed by Kikyo. Both women took measured steps, walking through the foyer and into the large room. The restaurant was lit up with all the lights on. The tables and chairs were up resting on top exactly as Kagome had left them. Except for one.
Both women walked up with narrowed eyes at the demoness sitting in the middle of the restaurant. Sitting perfectly dolled up at the table with a glass in her hand and a clear bottle of something. Reina's long dark green hair was cut to frame her face and rested underneath her chin. She wore a strappy black dress with dark sunglasses framing her face. The demoness looked refined sitting there with a red smile painted on her face. She lifted her hand and urged them to come closer.
"I've been expecting you for quite some time." She said with a soft smile. "Thank you for saving me the trouble of gathering your friends together too by the way. You were always the most considerate sister, Kagome. Always bringing people together for the big show."
Kagome tightened her fist as Kikyo stood at her side. Waves of anger and hostility wafted from their bodies. Her words stung as she referred to their day their relatives and friends died. The air became infectious with miko energy. A static electrified the air. Suddenly, demons came from the kitchen. Both women took a step back as they all walked forward with aerie smiles and unsavory expressions. They all rushed to stand around the room acting as guards for Reina.
Kikyo peeked through the swinging doors leading to the kitchen where she could see the burners on. The scent of gas permeated the air as the doors continued to swing and stir the air. She reached for her sister's hand. Kagome squeezed knowingly what she was warning about. Kikyo slowly worked an arrow from the side slit of her dress as Kagome addressed Reina. "What do you want Reina? This is the last time we will address you or acknowledge your presence. Say what you have to say and get the hell out of my place." Her eyes went to everyone, letting them know that she was referring to them all as well.
Reina laughed. "So touchy." She reached for her glass of water and swirled the liquid around in the glass. "I love water." Reina smiled back at Kagome. "It just washes away alllllllll the dirt of the world." She dragged before taking a sip. "Just as the Christians say. It cleanses the sinners of the past? Such a delicious story."
Kagome was fuming knowing well what she was referring to. "Get the hell out." She growled out. "We're done here. I'm calling the demon authority and you will be dealt with for trespassing."
Reina frowned and sat her glass down delicately but keeping it clutched in her palm. "Those insects wont do anything. Besides...Kagome, I've come to negotiate with you one final time. Give me Rin's estate and keep the little shit. It's that simple. No one needs to get hurt."
Kagome crossed her arms over her chest. "No"
Reina hit the table suddenly and knocked over her water. she tossed her sunglasses off of her face. "It's our legacy! You filthy disgusting humans know nothing of that! How stupid can you be! Do you want the money?"
"Unlike you, all of us are not in it for the money. Rin is entitled to her Father's legacy and not you! Your Father gave it to your sister who gave it to her son and now it belongs to Rin. When she is an adult, you can speak with her then as she will be old enough to make those decisions. And even then, as the will of your nephew states, Rin will still have to convene with me and my sister to ensure she is making sound decisions. So, you can wait another century or work hard like everyone else and make something of your own. But you can't do that. Which is why your kin saw you unfit to carry the legacy in the first place." Kagome finished, cocking her hips to the side.
"Filthy whore!" Riena suddenly stood up. "I grow tired of you and your kind! That legacy that disgraceful abomination holds belongs to me! I'm the rightful Hime of the Yomi fortune! My disgusting nephew soiled our name like that shitty sister of mine. Pure bloods are supreme and the title is mine to carry and bring back the golden era of our heritage. So again, keep the little shit and give me the fortune." Reina growled out with wild brown eyes turning a deep red.
"We're done here. The answer is no. And if you come near me and my family again then you will be dealt with." Kagome stated firmly as she stepped forward.
Reina reacted quickly. Her hands flew out and she pulled out something golden that flashed. A burst of demonic energy burst through the room. Kikyo threw up a barrier but it was quickly dispersed. Black lightning tangled with her bright blue shocks through the room. Energy bounced off the walls. The sound of glass shattering and wood breaking was heard. They covered their faces and crouched from the onslaught. As the energy went away, they both uncovered their faces. The room was tattered with Reina standing in the middle with a sick grin on her face.
Kagome moved her foot but found herself rooted to the spot. She looked down to see a golden line underneath them. Her eyes traced the symbol of what seemed to be a growing star. Kikyo grunted at her side. Kagome flickered her eyes over to her sister to see Kikyo muttering a spell underneath her breath, clearly trying to break free of whatever was holding them. Both women were suddenly rooted to their spots. Their eyes were wide as they lifted their feet to move but found they couldn't.
"Is that?" Kagome asked with wide eyes staring at the pentacle in Reina's hand. Her eyes traced the artifact and felt the bottom of her stomach drop. A cold sensation went up her spine.
"No way!" Kikyo muttered, she too was fighting against the magic surrounding her. She struggled and glared daggers at everyone around the room.
"Yes..." Reina said as she looked at the instrument. A loud roar ripped from the streets and youkai pushed into the room. Reina growled out and held the artifact up at the windows.
"No!" Kikyo yelled. Stay away Inuyasha!" She screamed as she began to recite faster. She pushed her reiki through the symbol but it wasn't working. She watched helplessly as the Inus played into Reina's plans.
Confused, Kagome turned her head around to see two angry Inu Youkai burst through the destroyed windows with claws out and power abundant. The lights blew out and more glass shattered. Cries and screams from Kagome and Kikyo bounced off the of white and red barreled towards the demoness. Kagome's eyes widened with tears in her eyes. "No! Sesshomaru! No!" The realization of how Reina killed powerful adversaries was in the palm of her hands and aimed at the loves of their lives.
Reina laughed maniacally as they charged at her. She held the sealing device up and directed its energy at the oncoming Inus. Their attacks were immediately absorbed and suddenly they found themselves belly down onto the floor struggling to sit up. Reina's laughter rang loudly in the space. All the demons including her own crew were belly down onto the floor. The ancient talisman was once a spiritual weapon for mikos and monks, now being used with demonic energy causing an adverse reaction.
Reina looked at the device in her hand and grinned wider if possible. "The sealing Pentacle Talisman of that slut Tsuki Yomi." She turned the talisman to and fro...rubbing it affectionately along its gold edges. "It does wonders with spiritual energy but it can be equally as useful with a demon's touch. Don't you think?" She asked as she looked at everyone trapped on the floor.
"So that's how you did it!" Kikyo spat out, standing on shaking legs. Her miko abilities, the only reason Kagome and herself were able to stand. "You sealed Tsuki and Hoshi using her talisman. That's why there were no bodies to be found! That's why they couldn't escape from whatever you did to them! You have no honor!"
Reina turned her head to Kikyo. "Honor? You think because you lay on your back with those dogs you can speak to me like that! You will be the first I kill. Or should I start with the half-breed. He shouldn't exist after all."
Inuyasha growled out pushing with all his might to lift himself up but found it impossible. Sesshoamru was caught in mid transformation. Unable to shift and unleash his demonic energy due to the friction in the talisman. It was sealing them slowly due to its misuse.
"Why, Reina! They were your blood!" Kagome yelled as she fell to her knees, unable to stand the strength of the sealing spell. Her head turned to the side and she saw a spider. Her eyes travelled slowly to see a line of them moving from the window to the kitchen. 'Thank Kami' She thought as she looked back at a distracted Reina. She just needed to buy time. "Why Reina! At least tell us that!"
Reina tilted her head. "Of course! I'll humor your little death wish." Reina paced between the crouching Inu, smirking down at them distastefully. "It's all mine! Don't you get it!" Reina snapped. "My mother gave that shitty sister of mine everything! Our inheritance from Kings and Queens! That rich blood and history of Godly demons and demonesses and wealth!" She practically screamed. "But rather than use it to uplift our blood, my Father passed the torch to that stupid patheic sister of mine. So laxed and passionate for human causes. Then she passed it down to that disgusting blood-ruining son of hers before her untimely demise…" She explained as she wiggled her fingers and smirked. "But that fucking Hoshi who shared it with his animal of partner! Despicable! And sired an act of violence against our kind. Soiling our great name! I don't want that…Thing! But she has something that belongs to me!" She yelled with red eyes gleaming. "My title and the royalties that come with it!"
"So you're in it for the money!" Inuyasha growled out as his bangs covered his face. His transformation was also stuck as words began to slur and sound inhumane. "Just admit it...you're fucking broke and can't survive in this new world."
Reina walked over to him. Her hand flew out and struck him across the face with a force so strong her claws scraped the sides of his mouth. Blood poured onto the once beautiful wood floors. His body squirmed to reach for her and fight but she picked up a stiletto foot and stepped on his back to push him down.
"Inuyasha!" Kikyo cried. Her heart hammered in her chest as she began anew with her chanting. The golden line underneath them began to slowly turn blue until Reina faced Kikyo and pointed to Pentacle Talisman at her.
"It doesn't work like that." Kikyo spat. That's why you had to drown them. It seals using reiki energy but you don't have that. So you used it to paralyze them into submission and drown them!"
"That's right." Reina nodded. "A fitting way for them to go. But don't worry you and your human friends outside will all die together as well. Into the fire this time."
"Wait!" Kagome yelled catching Reina's attention. The demoness' head flickered towards Kagome then. "If we give you the money, you must leave Rin alone! You can have it all! Just leave our family alone!"
"Fool! Do you think it's that easy!" Reina laughed. "That little mutt is a princess not just in title but in youkai blood. She carries powers in her that only transfer from Head of our Clan and Ruler. She is Queen really. Our legacy lay in that toxic blood of hers. I need her to get to our legacy. So...Ka Gome Mey…" She dragged softly. "You see. I need that little shit to transfer power. Give her to me and we can end all of this. And I promise you can have her when I'm done. Well what's left." She cackled again. "Isn't that what you want?"
Kikyo felt the spell loosen against her limbs. She suddenly pulled out her arrow and struck it down on the ground. Her incantation grew louder as blue light battled against the black electric waves. The golden light underneath them began to turn blue. Kagome immediately began to pray as well. Pink light pushed against the power of the talisman. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru slowly were able to push themselves up on their hands and knees. Sweat beaded down their faces and their hair slicked tightly to their skin as they struggled. The sprinklers above them activated and water sprayed on everyone angrily from the ceiling.
"You and that disgusting waste of life sister of yours have intervened for the last time! Your kind was meant to be buried in the dirt along with that trash mother and father of yours!" Reina railed as she flickered her wet hair from her vision.. She turned the talisman back onto them. She held it with both hands as she pushed her demonic energy into the talisman. "I'll kill you all!"
Kagome glared daggers into Reina through the onslaught of water. Her aura crackling dangerously around her. "Come on, Naraku." She muttered desperately. Sweat beaded her forehead as she prayed harder and pushed more of her reiki into the arrow that Kikyo was holding down.
Reina snarled. "Worthless like that petulant week Hoshi! Just like my sister that sired him. Weak! All of them!"
Kikyo pushed and threw a burst of reiki at Reina. The demoness's eyes widened at the attack before turning the pentacle at her. Kagome used the moment to send a burst of reiki into her limbs and managed to break free shortly. Her fist flew towards Reina and landed against the demoness's cheek. Reina lowered the talisman, after being caught off guard and used her energy to throw Kagome against the wall. Kagome hit the wall hard and fell down to the ground.
An angry roar ripped from Sesshomaru's lungs as she pushed with hsi youkai against Reina only to have her concentrate on the talisman and slam him down into the floor. "You see!" Reina yelled. "This now works using demonic energy. And I have two of the strongest demons in the world at my feet feeding my power!"
Kagome slowly shook her hand feeling the tender skin and bone aching from her hit. She moaned and rolled onto her side. Her vision was blurry as she began to speak. "Us mikos have adapted beyond the bow and sword, Reina. There's more where that came from."
"Savage beasts!" Reina shouted.
Kikyo looked at the symbol and at the effects it was having on everyone. Miko and Demonic powers danced in the space. Subduing and countering their physical and spiritual abilities. But yet, no one was being sealed away. Reina would need to break the concentration of the seal to actually kill them. Her mind went to the burners in the kitchen. Reina was going to burn them to death if she could focus long enough on setting the flame. Kikyo glared at the ground, where she saw small spiders in groups now running everywhere. White powder being disbursed off their backs. "Son of a bitch." She muttered. She knew they had to stall some more. He needed time.
Kikyo held down the arrow with both hands as she spoke. "So that's how you're doing this. That's how you got them trapped. You fed off of Hoshi's power to subjugate them both because you can't seal. You needed Tsuki's power to activate the sealing nature of the talisma. So, you drowned them in a conveniently staged tsunami. And killed everyone else in the process."
"Yes! And you will all die this time!" Reina yelled crazily. The sound of sirens and alarms went off in a distance going unnoticed by the crazed demoness. "I killed that pup and his wretched wife using these same tools that I'll erase you off the face of this planet with! This time...I will also eradicate the Inu line and that despicable stain on my bloodline. There will be nothing for anyone to bury! Then we can move forward in the world like we always have planned. And we will be supreme again!"
"Dance of the Dragon!"
A powerful gust of wind pushed everyone back. Reina turned her mirror towards the powerful winds coming her way to absorb the attack but was unsuccessful. Reina flew from her stance and hit a broken table behind her. Reina's claws dragged against the floor preventing her from further damage. A growl ripped from her lips as the symbol on the floor loosened. Everyone was released and fell heavily on to the floor as the weight of the spell fell away.
The winds died down and clapping was heard in the back. The battered barely hanging on the front door to the front, casually opened. Naraku strolled in wearing his suit from the event but this time his white baboon pelt rested over his shoulder. He bent down and collected one of his spiders and layed it gently on his white pelt. He nodded his head gently before glaring at Reina with disdain. "Well, Well. Reina. That's quite enough." He said nonchalantly as his eyes surveyed the room.
Said demoness growled and shoved the talisman in front of her to activate it. It shined golden and flashed but nothing happened.
"We can't have that." He said as something flashed at his side. He turned his head and reached out to rest his hand on the top of a young girls head. Her white ghostly appearance dressed in a simple kimono stood slightly behind him against the front of Kagura who had her fans out in defense. Her hands gripped a round mirror that flashed silver and reflected Reina's appearance in its depth.
"So.." Naraku tilted his head and rubbed his chin thoughtfully with a smirk of his own. The water spraying, seemingly having gone unnoticed as his dress shirt, pants, and pelt began to get wet. "That's how you did your little magic trick."
Reina growled furiously and stood up, aiming the artifact at the spiker demon. "You half-breed filth! You can join your lot as well. I was going to take my time destroying you but that day has come earlier than expected." She shook the talisman again and pressed the Inuyoukai again with it to collect their strength. It glowed brightly but soon dispersed energy like before.
"So ignorant." He said. "For someone that disdains humans and the like so, you would think you would learn about their capabilities before you rage war." He waved his hands and suddenly all the spiders rushed towards Reina.
"What is this! What is that thing!" She yelled as she used her demonic energy to flick the spiders away.
"My apologies." Naraku said as he looked at the two mikos. "I had to know what she was using before I could act but no worries. The end is near. And this Reina is my beloved little sister, Kanna. See us ingrates and mixed bloods stick together and create some unique toys. Consider Kanna's enchanted mirror." He said.
Reina's eyes widened as the talisman in her hand began to crack. She shook it as if trying to reactivate it using force before the Pentacle Talisman shattered in her grip. A wave of youkai and reiki energy rushed over everyone. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru were released and Kikyo immediately rushed to her sister to check on her. "Boys get off the floor and attack!" Reina yelled shaking a manicured finger at Naraku. "Don't just sit there! Kill them!"
Said demons all got their bearings and the room went to hell. Just as they rushed forward, A large boomerang burst through the remaining door, breaking it in half and hitting two of them before they could touch Kagome and Kikyo. An ofuda soon followed crackling purple that set another demon on fire. Sango, Miroku, Bankoutsu, the Twins and everyone rushed in and started fighting. Sesshomaru and Inuyasha stood up and without hesitation went to work ripping their claws through anyone nearby.
Reina stood back, blocking random attacks that came her way. Her eyes went to her fingers and she conjured fire. "Burn!" She yelled as she turned towards the kitchen and tossed fire. The fire went to the doors but powder was thrown immediately afterwards extinguishing it. Her glowing red eyes flickered to the twins who avoided the fighting but spread white powder around dousing the flames and creating a counter agent to the supposed fiery explosion that Reina planned to conjure. The water raining from the ceiling aiding the powder into creating a solution to further stop Reina's fiery ambitions.
"So Weak." Naraku said as he dodged and attack and walked casually over holding Kanna now in his arms protectively as she held the mirror in her tiny hands. "My sister is sick and needed that clinic that you shut down. Leaving her confined to a bed when she could have gotten help. You stopped her from getting the relief she needed but I found Marie who you tried to hurt. Then you tried to destroy my intended's career at healing the sick including my sister. Unforgivable." His eyes were deep red.
Kagome and Kikyo helped each other up as they looked on at Naraku. They managed to avoid the attacks of others to get close to him, hearing his reasoning. Understanding at the complete tale filled them and conviction to end it grew within them both. "Miroku! The beads!"
Said man pulled out a chain of beads from his pocket and threw them towards Kagome. She caught them and began to recite an incantation in them. Her eyes flickered to Naraku who looked dangerously threatening, and everything that people spoke of when referring to the monster that ran the underground.
"And so you have always had an enemy with me." Naraku said menacingly as a tentacle came from his back and ripped through his shirt. It flew straight at Reina, piercing her in the chest unsuspectingly. Her eyes grew wide and blood flew from her mouth. "I have single handedly dismantled you and every person connected with you. Ive destroyed empires and brought you down into my underworld where the remains of what's left will reside." He held Kanna tightly to him as she held the mirror up close to her chest, sealing Reina's reflection inside and keeping her immobile.
Reina gasped seeing herself reflected along with all the people she hurt within the mirrors reflection including Hoshi and Tuski Yomi. "No!" She growled out as more blood spilled from her mouth. Her body began to slowly slump as she fought to pull his tentacle from her chest cavity. Her claws came down and chopped off the limb before she fell back from the force of her own attack.
Naraku brought up a clawed hand ready to land the final blow when an arrow hit the space between them. It lit in a burst of pink and blue reiki energy. Reina covered her face and found herself face down onto the floor. Her head whipped to the side to see Kikyo holding her hands together and praying while Kagome held her other hand and channeled her reiki into the arrow. It acted similarly to the talisman with keeping her frozen in place. A pair of beads were placed around her neck quickly before Kagome ran backwards and began reciting.
"Hurry!" Kikyo yelled. "Give a command!"
"SIT!" Kagome yelled.
Immediately, the beads flashed white and Reinas body was thrusted into the wooden floor boards breaking them in. A crater-like hole was in her floor. Kikyo still prayed and stretched her reiki. The immense power that she was known for spilled from her body as she performed the spell that Reina botched. Using her arrow as the talisman, she recited the incantation and all of Reina's people were thrusted onto the floor and held in subjugation. Kikyo stood to her full height and her power circled around her aggressively. "I won't seal them, but keep them in holding. The police are here." She said as she was lost in a trance. Warm hands reached for her waist and held her close. Silver danced in front of her vision as she laid her head back against her Inu. "Inuyasha." She muttered softly. "You ok? Calm down my love. Find yourself"
She felt his nose brush against the pulse point in her neck and he took a deep inhale. Water dripped from her neck and glided into her soaked dress. His demonic energy sporadically burst against her flesh, searchingly. His scent washed over as he fought to gather himself and control his demon nature. Kikyo concentrated on her spell but prayed to heaven that Inuyasha would calm himself. He sought her out so he was aware of what was happening. Suddenly, she felt his arms loosened and his lips kissed her ears. "I'm fine now." He grunted in her ear.
Kagome walked forward and gently put her hand on top of Naraku's; watching him aim for the final blow. She pressed firmly against his palm, catching his piercing red eyes. He turned his head and looked at the limb touching him. Kagome clutched his hand gently and patted it reassuringly. Droplets fell from her hand onto his as he held his sister tightly in the other. His pelt resting over her head, protecting her from the water as she clutched the mirror. "She will pay for her crimes the right way. Do not give her the easy way out. Please. You deserve justice like the rest of us. The world needs to know of the real monster. And that's not you."
Naraku looked back at the mindlessly screaming Reina, subdued on the floor. A small hand reached for the side of his face and brushed his cheek gently. He turned to see his little baby sister staring at him and nodding her head. "I want to go home to Big Sister Marie now. The bad lady is powerless now." She spoke with a whisper. The spider demon turned to Kagome and hesitated as if at war with himself. It was some time before he blinked and nodded his head in agreement.
"Then you will need this." He spoke as he pulled out of his pocket, a tape recorder. "My spiders are always watching Miss. Muphet." He handed her the device as the water sprinklers shut off and the sounds of police and the like showed up. Lights, loud noises, radios, magic, handcuffs, and other sounds blared around them. Reina was bound and picked up by officials. Something was injected into her neck and the demoness grew laxed. Her body was carried away as his watchful eyes trailed to make sure she was handled. A tiny spider landed in her hair and buried itself inside as a precautionary measure. It was pure chaos as people were taken away and accounts were taken. But it went unnoticed.
"I'm not Miss Muphet." She said back before suddenly being yanked into a powerful strong grip.
Naraku smirked and took a step back. He watched as his best friend embraced the little miko in his hold. A wave of inu youkai rushed over the little miko who held onto the demon just as fiercely. Naraku held his sister tightly to his body and smiled. Sesshomaru nodded his head in thanks and Naraku responded in kind. "No...you definitely are not."
