It's like the dreams they've had every day since that night. They always dreamed of seeing each other again but deep down thinking it was one of those moments in time they would never have again. Liv regretted leaving that night. Everything told her to go back. Her body told her to go back but her mind told her, she had already walked on the wild side. But there he is. The man that ruined her for all men to come after him. And the cruel twist of fate, he's standing there as her sister's plus one. Her head has so many things to say but her mouth is stuck in utter speechlessness.

"Hi!" Liv says again.

"Hi!" He utters softly back, never wanting to let go of her hand. She still felt the same, soft and warm.

How could this be? Fitz asks himself. How could his never-ending dream be standing before him again. After all the searching he did. After all the different ways he tried to find her. Fate made it this easy. She's right here. The woman he is sure is the love of his life. The woman who made him look at the world through a new set of eyes the moment she drifted in. The moment she drifted out, he knew he would never have that feeling again without her.

Savannah looks at her almost awe struck sister, "Liv you okay. You look like you've seen a ghost."

Liv focuses her attention on her sister, "I'm sorry what," she laughs as she nervously lets go of Fitz's hand.

"I think maybe Olivia has the same feeling I have," Fitz interjects as he looks at Abby and Harrison. They look as if they are sweating bullets as he looks at Savannah.

"What feeling?" Savannah asks.

"Like maybe we've seen each other somewhere before. You know everyone has a twin," Fitz tries to pass off as he looks back at Liv.

"What are the odds?" Abby says.

"That's for damn sho!" Harrison adds as Liv clears her throat. Savannah notices everyone is acting weird but tries to think nothing of it.

Liv tries to break the tension that Savannah doesn't realize is there, "Savannah never brings a boy….shall I say, a man home. She said you met at the hospital."

Fitz smiles at Savannah and looks back at Liv, "She was the RN assigned to my dad. He passed away a few weeks ago."

Liv is immediately hit with sadness for him, "I'm so sorry for your loss."

"I've had many of the last few years," Fitz responds. The double entendre is not lost on Liv, Harrison and Abby.

Liv takes a breath, "Well, my sister is the best. So, your dad was lucky to have her looking after him." Fitz smiles.

"And I asked him out. I know this is only a third date but the first one wasn't exactly a date. It was coffee and muffins when he came to settle the hospital bill," Savannah explains. She's gushing and it's making Liv feel even worse. "And the second date was kind of a coincidence. We were in the same place at the same time."

"Well you have great taste in men. No one can blame you for taking the initiative," Liv says, biting her lip in nervousness.

Fitz can't help but blush, "I did that once," Fitz answers. Liv's body is immediately hit with a warmth. She knows the comment is directed at her.

Harrison coughs, clearing his throat, "And, ummm, how did that turn out?"

Fitz tries not to look at Liv, "I got her and I lost her."

"Lucky me, I hope…," Savannah interjects.

Liv snaps her neck over at Harrison. Abby decides to break the awkwardness. "So, if not being too nosy, what do you do Fitz?"

"Well, I guess you can say I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I run my father's company which I never wanted to do but I'm good. So there's the funny irony. He's been sick the last year so I completely took over and business couldn't be better but my passion is a little more lackluster, I guess."

"And what is that?" Liv says too quickly for her own taste.

"I loved running my very successful nightclub that I still own. I just don't run the day to day," Fitz answers.

Savannah looks at Abby, "Thanks! We haven't gotten that far in conversations yet. I am learning something. What's the name of your club?" Savannah can see the slight frown on Fitz's face. She quickly thinks maybe she's going too fast, "I mean you don't have to talk about that now."

Fitz immediately feels bad. He can see Liv is ready to exit the conversation, "No, I don't mind talking about it. It's still my baby," he says, glancing over to Liv and back to Savannah. "It's the Mariel Underground."

"Really!," Savannah smiles. "I've never been there but Liv has. She knows the place well. Even met her…," she answers looking over at her sister who is now starting to sweat. "Liv, you okay?"

"I am fine. No one needs to know about my reckless club nights," Liv stops her.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Savannah asks.

Liv looks away in another direction, trying to not look at Fitz. She can see the questions in his head. "I see someone I haven't seen in a minute, Edison Davis. I should go speak," Liv quickly covers, seeing the strained grimace on Fitz's face.

Savannah pats her shoulder, "Daddy invited him."

"Of course he did," Liv shakes his head.

"Oh damn," Harrison says barely above a whisper.

"Well, he wants you back. I am not surprised he's here. Are you gonna give him another chance?" Abby says, trying to ignore the stare searing from Fitz.

"I am not going to get his hopes up but I won't ignore him either. Maybe there's a chance," Liv says as she gets ready to walk away. She looks at Fitz, not knowing exactly what to say. "If you would excuse me." Liv walks away as Savannah gets close to Fitz who is now more interested in the man that's about to get Liv's attention. Abby and Harrison excuse themselves.

"You and your sister seem close," Fitz says.

"We are. When our mother died, we had to take care of each other and my dad. She's more outgoing than I am," Savannah smiles.

"She's a regular at the club," Fitz furthers. He wants to know what Savannah was gonna say.

"Well, not really, but she was home for the summer a few years ago and went to the club with Abby and Harrison and had a really good time," Savannah laughs.

Fitz is even more curious now, trying not to sound too curious, "That's what an owner likes to hear. Define a good time."

"Let's just say she got lucky that night and swears he was her soulmate but enough about my sister's wild club nights. You want to get something to eat," Savannah breaks.

Fitz can't help but smile about Liv's admission to her sister about that night, "Yes I could use some food."

Savannah leads him to the ample buffet that they have laid out. Fitz watches as Olivia greets the man that he wants to punch in the face because he gets to talk to his girl.

Liv and Edison are engrossed in a conversation as Liv sees Savannah lead Fitz to the food table.
"Earth to Olivia," Edison says.

Liv shakes from her stare, "I'm sorry. How are you?"

"Better now that I am here with you," Edison charms.

"Always the charmer," Liv laughs.

"Only when I see something I want. And I definitely want you. But you already know that. The whole summer we spent together and I've been shamelessly chasing you and you won't let me catch you," Edison says.

Liv can't help but blush. Fitz notices the redness of her cheeks. He grits his teeth. Liv tries to deflect his stare, "Edison we both agreed it wouldn't work."

Edison traces her jawline, "No, you decided we wouldn't work and you wouldn't even tell me why."

"Come on, you are at that prestigious law firm and that's awesome. I am probably going to New York," she smiles.

"If I remember correctly, we offered you a job," Edison says.

"I interned and we dated. That was all wrong to begin with," she reminds him. "That was inappropriate."

"We had a damn good time," Edison smiles cockily.

"Listen, it was bad judgment on my part. And I don't want to be known as the girl that slept her way into a position. I am not a slut and I won't be the office slut."

Edison gets close to her, which Fitz notices and tries not to react, "You will never be an office slut but I would love for you to be my gorgeous girlfriend." He reaches and gives her a lingering kiss on her cheek.

Harrison and Abby are watching from afar. "There's about to be a cockfight in here soon," Harrison says.

"Damn! I would love to have two men fighting over me but I wouldn't want to be Liv right now. This is just not good for so many reasons," Abby answers.

Liv takes a breath, seeing the death stare from Fitz who's trying to be engaged with Savannah but can't, "Edison, you are embarrassing me."

"I am showering the new lawyer in the family with love. I am trying to wear her down and make her say yes," Edison nuzzles her face.

Fitz takes a breath just as Savannah brings her father over, "Fitz, this is my dad, Eli Pope. Dad, this is Fitz Grant."

Eli extends his hand, "Nice to meet you." Fitz returns the gesture.

"It's nice to meet you as well," Fitz responds.

"I'm a strict man. Some might say I am too strict when it comes to my daughters but I am a sucker for my girls too. They both brought men home today. I'm trying to be understanding," Eli jokes.

"You invited Edison without telling Liv," Savannah reminds him.

"My daughter just graduated from law school and already has a lawyer who wants to marry her. I can't help but be proud and try to help things along," Eli says proudly.

Fitz is balding his fist. His knuckles are turning red. He wants nothing more than to talk to Olivia. Try to understand what's been going on. "A daddy takes care of his girls," Fitz says.

Eli looks at Savannah, "See, this is a man who understands. Do you have children Fitz?"

"No sir I don't," Fitz says.

"Do you want children?" Eli continues.

"Daddy, would you not scare him away?" Savannah says, as she pats Fitz's shoulder. "I don't want you to run him away."

"At least I'm not asking what his intentions are," Eli jokes. Fitz tries to keep his eyes on the people in front of him but he can't stand to see it. He can't stand to see another man making the moves on the girl, the woman, that should have been his.

"I'm not easily scared," Fitz says.

"That's what I like to hear. Why don't we walk and talk? I am going to steal your guest for a little bit V," Eli announces.

"Daddy," Savannah says.

"It's cool," Fitz says. "I am sure you have some friends here."

"Okay, I'll come and find you," Savannah says as she pats his hand. She doesn't know what else to do exactly.

Eli and Fitz walk off talking as Eli leads Fitz to get a drink. Fitz looks around and sees that Liv is not in sight.

Moments later, Liv comes down the stairs in their house to find Savannah coming in from outside. She wishes she could just avoid her for the rest of this day. If she didn't know it would lead to leading Edison on, she would leave with. But she knows she can't make that worse. "Hey sis, there you are!" Savannah says happily.

"Hey sis," Liv says with nervousness.

"Oh my God! Dad is gonna kill you," Savannah says.

"Why?" Liv says confused.

"Is Edison about to walk down those shares fixing his clothes in shame?"

"Hell no," Liv says. "I just needed a minute," she sighs.

"What's wrong?" Savannah asks.

"Nothing's wrong," Liv answers.

"Come on peanut! I know you. Remember that," she answers.

Liv walks over to the mantle in their family room. Looking at the photos that adorn it. "I just have a lot going on in my head. I mean I just graduated law school. I busted my ass to do it. I've done it and I have to make some decisions."

Savannah walks over, grabbing Liv by the shoulders. "You are going to make great decisions. You have so far. Mom would be proud of you and dad is proud. Too proud actually. He's trying to marry us off," she chuckles.

"To who?" Liv says.

"You to Edison and me to Fitz. Fitz and I aren't even serious," Savannah laughs. She notices the shutter that Liv immediately has. "Are you sure you are okay?"

"Yes I am. I promise," Liv says, ready to excuse herself.

"So, tell me what you think!" Savannah says.

"About what?"

"What do you think of Fitz?"

Liv's throat catches. This is what she wants to avoid, "He seems really nice."

"And…." Savannah prods.

"And very accomplished," Liv offers.

"And…." Savannah repeats.

"And very good looking. Is that what you are looking for?" Liv laughs.

Savannah laughs, "And admit it.. He is hot."

Liv goes toward the door, feigning bashfulness. "I will not talk about your guests like that." She turns around. She doesn't know why she wants to ask this. She doesn't want the answer but she needs to know. "Have you kissed him yet?"

Savannah's face becomes immediately flushed. "No we haven't. We haven't even held hands yet. I can only imagine he's an amazing kisser among other things."

Liv zones out, remembering their kiss before they made love. She remembers how he took her breath away. How she had never been kissed that way. How she's hungered for him for the last two years, "Amazing," Liv whispers.

"What?" Savannah asks.

"Nothing, I better go find those two minions, Abby and Harrison and see what trouble they are up to. And I have to let Edison down easy," Liv shakes her head.

"What's so wrong with dating Eddy? He was good to you, right?" Savannah asks.

"There's nothing wrong with Eddy. It's all me. I just…it's hard to explain. It's just not what I want. He's not what I want," Liv says almost defensively of her thoughts.

"What do you want?" Savannah asks.

Liv hates herself and this situation at this moment. "It doesn't matter," she answers quickly. "Maybe you should get back out there to your guest."

Savannah laughs, "Dad took him for a walk. I hope he doesn't scare him off."

Liv takes a breath, "He seems like a confident but gentle guy," she says carefully.

"I hope I don't have to compete with her," Savannah admits.

"Compete with who?" Liv asks.

"Whoever this woman was that got away. It sounds like he hasn't gotten over her and I really don't want to start anything with him and he's holding a candle for someone else," she finishes.

"Maybe tell him how you feel," Liv says.

"You and Fitz are in the same boat, I think," Savannah adds.

"What do you mean?" Liv asks.

"I think the reason you don't want to give Eddy a chance is because you are holding a candle for that guy you met at the club. The one you let get away," Savannah smiles, patting her on the back.

Before Liv could respond, Abby comes in, "There you are. You will never guess who's here."

Liv looks up, never being more grateful for the interruption. "Who?'

"That fucker Jake Ballard," Abby answers.

"Oh great! Is it too late to leave my own party?" Liv laughs.

"Daddy will kill you," Savannah laughs. "Go talk to the only neighbor we never could get rid of."

Liv shakes her head, going out with Abby. They start to walk, "Thanks so much!"

"You are welcome. That must have been super awkward," Abby says.

"It was! She really likes Abby. They aren't serious. Not even close, but she really likes him," Liv says sadly.

"And you really love him," Abby finishes.

"I can't do that to my sister. She will never understand and she will never forgive me if…..nevermind. Let's go and talk to Ballard," Liv says.

Abby grabs her arm, "You want him back."

"Of course I do but he's not mine to have," Liv says.

"Liv he was yours first," Abby reminds her.

"But she likes him…." Liv repeats.

"Olivia…," she hears and turns to see Jake Ballard.

"Hi Jake! Good to see you!"

"Let me go find Harrison," Abby says. She whispers in her ear, "I'll rescue you in 10."

Liv turns to Jake, who's passing her a present. "You didn't have to Jake."

"I wanted to," Jake says.

Liv smiles, "Thank you!"

"Your dad throws a great party," Jake adds.

"Yes he does," she says unenthused. "You want to go get a drink?"

"Sure," he says as they walk.

Fitz is walking with Eli, checking out the immaculately pruned garden.

"Their mother loved roses. She loved flowers," Eli says.

Fitz looks around at the flowers. "They are beautiful. She must have been a very beautiful woman."

Eli stops looking at him, "Why do you think that? Not that I don't agree, but what makes you say that?"

"You have very beautiful daughters," Fitz answers.

Eli shakes his head. He's impressed with Fitz's answer and quick thinking. "So I supposed I don't have to tell you. I've devoted my life to those girls. I promised my wife I would take care of them and I have. I don't want them hurt, not ever." He looks directly at Fitz wanting to get his point across. "Savannah is very different from Olivia. She's always been timid, more shy, not as outgoing as Liv. So, if you aren't serious about her. Don't lead her on."

"I would never do that," Fitz says.

"Do you like her?" Eli asks.

"I like her," Fitz starts. Eli can tell there is something else coming behind it.

"But…." Eli says.

"But I'm not looking for anything serious right now. And I promise you, I won't lead her on," Fitz says.

"And that's all I ask. I know my girls. Olivia is tough as nails. Savannah is a little more sensitive…so if your heart isn't in it, tell her so."

Fitz shakes his hand, "Thank you for your honesty."

"Thank you for yours," Eli answers. "We better get out there. Savannah is going to be afraid I asked you to leave."

Fitz nervously laughs. He knows what he has to do, sooner rather than later. He has to break tell Savannah that they can't go any further. But then there's Olivia. What can he do?

Liv is talking to Harrison. "What are you going to do?"

"I don't know what to do!" Liv says with a teary eye. "I'm so glad Edison had to leave. I can't deal with him and this, all at the same time. He wants me to meet him tonight. And Savannah wants to know what I think of her new friend. The man that I had the greatest sex of my life with and fell in love."

"Have they slept together?" Harrison asks cautiously.

Liv closes her eyes. "I hope not."

"We haven't," Fitz answers.

Liv turns to see Fitz standing there. "Fitz," she says softly. Which is music to his ears to hear her say his name.

"I am going to go find someone to pounce on," Harrison says as he leaves.

"We really don't need to be talking. Especially not now," Liv says.

"We definitely need to talk," Fitz answers.

Liv lets out a nervous laugh, "I dreamed of this day. I didn't dream of this impossible situation. Although it's not impossible. It just can't be."

"I've dreamed of this day too. I never should have let you go that day. I've been miserable ever since," Fitz admits.

"She really likes you," Liv says sadly.

"Liv…"

Before she can answer Savannah appears, "There you are," Savannah says. "You are still in one piece after meeting with Eli Pope."

"His bark is bigger than his bite," Fitz tries to joke.

Liv smiles, "And you met Eli Pope, right?"

"Is my sister grilling you?" Savannah asks Fitz.

"No, we were just…" He doesn't know quite how to answer that.

"Just getting to know each other," Liv half smiles.

"Well we need to go cut the cake so daddy can make his proud dad speech," Savannah says as she is ushering Liv to go with her.

"I just need to make a call," Fitz says quickly as he addresses Savannah.

"Okay, I'll make sure to save you some

Liv starts to walk. Fitz softly grabs her arm. "Meet me at the club tonight. We need to talk."

"I don't know Fitz," she utters. She gets lost in those blue eyes that captivated her not too long ago.

"Please," Fitz pleads with her.

"I'll see what I can do," Liv says as Fitz slides his card into her hand.

"We can't make the same mistake twice," Fitz continues.

Liv walks away. Fitz watches as the woman who stole his heart away, walks away from him for the second time.

Liv is sitting in the secluded VIP section of the club, per Fitz's request. She's nursing a glass of red wine. She felt bad that she made up an excuse for why she needed to leave after her party and not hang out with her sister. She can only imagine what Fitz gave as an excuse for leaving her sister high and dry and it just makes her feel even worse. Fitz walks in. He stands, just staring at Olivia.

"I was afraid you wouldn't come," Fitz says as he sits across from her.

"I almost didn't," she smiles faintly.

"My biggest fear was I would never see you again. And now…."

She stops him, "And now you are dating my sister and she really likes you."

"I wouldn't exactly call it dating," Fitz clarifies.

"But she does like you," Liv answers.

Fitz tries to grab her hand and Liv pulls away, "I like your sister and if she weren't your sister I wouldn't mind seeing where it goes. But I am in love with you. And have been since I laid eyes on you. Since I held you in my arms. Since we made love. You disappeared like a thief in the night, taking my heart with you. I never stopped wanting you back…wanting to find you."

Those are the words she's been wanting to tell him for 2 years. She felt the same. She feels the same now she feels like she shouldn't. "I came to the club one night. You all had a masquerade. You weren't dressed and I watched you all night and I slipped in and slipped out as if I was never there."

"Why?" Fitz asks sadly.

"Because I felt crazy. I've never had a one night stand in my life until you. And I haven't had one again…and.."

"What about this Eddy guy?"

Liv takes a sip of her wine, "He's not you."

"So why?" Fitz repeats.

"Scared..I was scared. I was scared because I felt exactly the same way. It killed me to leave you that night when all I wanted to do was stay wrapped in your arms."

Fitz reaches for her hand again but this time she doesn't pull away, "I can't let you go again Olivia." He pulls her hand to his lips as he gently kisses it.

"I can't hurt my sister," Liv answers.

"I told you we haven't slept together. We haven't even kissed," Fitz says.

"I know that. I believe you and she told me but that's not really the point right now. The point is, my sister likes you. She likes you alot."

Their fingers just naturally intertwine as they hold on to each other for dear life, "We met first. We connected first."

Liv takes another sip of her wine, "But my sister has always been the more sensitive one. She's.."

"I'll walk away," Fitz interrupts.

Her heart drops, as she thinks he means he will walk away from both, "Maybe that's for the best," she answers.

"I mean walk away from her," Fitz clarifies.

"And then all of a sudden we start dating," she looks incredulously. "That would hurt her even more."

"Then what do we do," Fitz asks.

"We do the right thing. We don't want anyone to get hurt. I don't want to hurt anyone, especially my sister."

"And I don't want to lose you. I can't do that again," Fitz says. He stares into her soul almost, focusing on her, "I don't think you want to lose me again either."

She looks away from him. She doesn't want to let the tears fall but she can't help but let her emotions get the best of her. He decides to do what he shouldn't do. He moves over to her side, taking her in his arms, "Don't!"

"Don't what?"

"Don't do that…this! You are going to make this harder on me than it already is," she speaks softly.

"You know how hard it was to not just take you in my arms right there in front of everyone. I wanted to kiss you. I wanted to say, ``to hell with the situation," he says, moving her chin to make her face him.

"We can't kiss. We can't do anything. We have to leave the past in the past. We have to act like…"

"The night that changed our lives never happened. There's not a chance in hell I can do that. I won't do that," Fitz stresses.

"We have to," Liv drops her head.

He traces her lips with his fingers, ever so gently. It sends a rush down her spine and a jolt to her senses. She hasn't felt this current since that night, "You know what I've done for the last two years on that date. I rent that hotel room and I stay there. Just to be close to you. To feel you."

"If you care about me at all, you won't make me have to choose."

"But you are asking me to give you up. Give up the memory of you. The reality of you. Forget that night ever happened," he asks.

"I am asking you to understand how hard this will be for me. I am asking you to understand that this is hard."

"Then we just tell the truth," Fitz deduces.

"What do you mean?' Liv says, surprised.

"We need to tell her the truth. I don't want to hurt anyone either but I don't want to pretend," Fitz answers.

"You have to let me think about it. I need some time to figure this all out," Liv says weekly.

"As long as you don't run again."

Liv tries to get up from her seat, bumping the table with her knee. Her glass of wine falls over. "Let me go."

"No," Fitz says as he takes her tightly into his arms and starts to kiss her. He kisses her with all the love he's been holding inside for her. The kiss is long and hot and fevered. The moans are harmonious as Liv gives in to the passion of him. It's as if time stood still and they were still in that hotel room, immersed in each other. Her hands find the nape of his neck as she ruffles his hair with lusty need.

There's a knock at the door that breaks their suppressed hunger for each other.

"Damn," Fitz says. Liv drops her forehead to his chest. "I told you I didn't want to be distubed."

"I know Sir but we have a little situation out here that's going to need your attention," Tom says. He knows he's gonna have hell to pay.

"You better get out there," Liv says.

He places another kiss on her lips, "This place could be on fire and I wouldn't care right now."

Liv throws her head back in laughter, "Then we'd burn."

Fitz thinks about it for a moment, "We'd be together.

"Go," Liv says, still with a chuckle.

"I've missed that laugh," Fitz says as he gets up, noticing he has a bit of excitement. Liv clears her throat, noticing the tint. "I've missed everything about you obviously."

Liv buries her face in her hands. She looks up at him, "There are way too many fires burning right now."

"I'll be right back. Don't leave," Fitz says with pleading eyes.

"I won't leave," she promises. Fitz leaves. She takes note of the red wine settling in the tablecloth.

After a while, Liv notices that Fitz hasn't come back. She's about to go out and see what's going on when her phone rings. She notices it's Savannah. She hesitates a minute to answer. "Hey sis! What's going on?"

"I am doing something stupid. I want you to talk me out of it. Not that it will do any good. I am already here," Savannah says.

"You are already where?" Liv asks.

"I am already outside of Fitz's club. I know he had an emergency and had to come in tonight but I really wanted to see him and we really didn't get a chance to talk at the party," Savannah explains.

Liv is immediately freaked out. She can't leave the room now. "Are you in the club already?"

"Yes, I see Fitz behind the bar. I'm just gonna go and talk to him," Savannah decides as she hangs up hastily.

Just as Savannah says this, Fitz walks toward the private VIP section. He doesn't know that Savannah is not too far behind. Fitz walks into the room to find Liv still there but he can tell that something is wrong. "What's wrong?"

"My sister is here to see you. She's in the club," Liv says.

"What is she doing here?" Fitz asks.

"She said she wanted to talk. I need to get out of here," Liv says.

"No, I'll go out and talk to her. I don't want you to leave," Fitz says. Fitz stops, "I am going to do it tonight."

"Do what?" Liv asks.

Off in the distance they both hear, "Fitz!"

"That's her," Liv says.

"Stay here! I'll go out," Fitz says.

"No, you can't do this tonight. I know what to do. Stay here!," Liv says.

They then hear Savannah's phone ring. They listen to the conversation. Fate intervenes for them. Savannah is called into work. Savannah turns and leaves as they both breathe a sigh of relief.

"That was too close," Liv says as she starts to gather her things almost frantically.

Fitz grabs her, "Slow down. The crisis is averted."

"We can't keep having these crises," Liv says, wanting to go for the door.

"Everything is going to be fine," Fitz says.

"I have to go," Liv says.

"I want to see you again and that's sooner rather than later," Fitz says sternly as sweeps his breath across her lips.

She takes a breath, "Sooner!"

He reaches down and gives her a light kiss as she turns and leaves. Fitz waits a few minutes and then heads out behind her. What they don't know is, someone is watching in the distance.

So who is it watching?
