Grudgeful Old People Part 1

I walk into the shack to see Wendy and the twins frozen midway up the ladder to the roof that Wendy set up.

"Oh, hey Lia, wanna come?" the cool redheaded girl asks grinning.

"Nah, you kids have fun," I go around the cash register counter before placing my stuff down on the floor.

"Your loss," she says, resuming her way up with the twins in tow.

A few minutes later the twins come back down the ladder.

I look away from a book on illegal scamming that I found stashed under the counter.

"Did Wendy leave with her friends?" I lick my thumb before flipping the page.

Dipper nods," Does she do that often?"

"Yep," I look back to the book.

The next day in the afternoon I find myself sitting on a high stool behind the cash register reading the same book with Wendy chilling on another high stool in front of the counter. Suddenly Mabel shows up with a handheld stereo and turns it on.

"Random dance party for no reason!" she shouts excited before starting to dance wildly along with Wendy.

I ignore them until Mabel jumps on the counter catching my attention.

"Lia, join us!" she says grinning.

"I'm good, I'm more of a waltz kinda gal," I flip the page.

"You know how to waltz?" Wendy asks, surprised.

"That's so cool!" Mabel gasps.

I nod with a smile, "My mom taught me when I was little as a sort of part of her family tradition."

"Are you secretly a lady of high class?" She looks at me with sparkly eyes.

I shrug with an innocent smile.

"Disowned but technically yeah."

Their attention turns to Dipper whose off on the other side of the store looking at Wendy while probably pretending to write something on the clipboard he's holding.

I go back to my book.

"I wonder if the boss knows some of these methods."

I vaguely hear the clock chime in the background.

"Lia, are you gonna come with us today?" I hear Wendy call my name.

I look up to see her eyes practically begging me to come along, "Sure, why not?" I close my book before putting it away in my bag.

"Cool, let me get my stuff," she walks off to get her things.

I hear Mabel mumble to herself since when are they 13. Chuckling, I look at Dipper, "It isn't nice to lie, Pinetree."

He blushes embarrassed, "This is our chance to hang out with the cool kids and Wendy."

I smirk while Mabel gasps, "I knew it!" she says jumping over the counter, "You love her!" she starts chanting love while pointing at him repeatedly.

He gets her to look behind her making her turn around then he flips her hair into her face. I shake my head smiling slightly.

"Ah, siblings."

Wendy takes the twins outside with me not far behind. Outside two of the guys are holding a shirtless Thompson by the legs while Robbie is throwing jelly beans at the poor boy's belly. Tamri is recording the whole thing with her phone. I hand Wendy a jelly bean for her to throw. She throws it before Robbie could, hitting right in Thompson's belly button.

Her little group of friends turn to us and shout her name in happiness. She introduces the twins to which they make an awkward impression, especially Dipper.

"This should be interesting."

I inwardly smirk in amusement at his embarrassment.

"And you guys remember Lia," Wendy says, gesturing to me.

"Alright! Now, this is gonna be a party!" Lee shouts excitedly.

"Yeah!" Nate agrees, shouting as well.

"Those two are always so loud."

Wendy goes around introducing her friends to the twins. When she got to Robbie he mentions that he spray painted the old water tower as if it were some grand achievement.

"Always a bucket of sunshine."

"Oh, you mean the big muffin," Dipper smiles.

Robbie glares at him, "Um it's a giant explosion."

We all look at the said spray painting. Lee and Nate laugh agreeing that it does look like a muffin. Robbie once more glares at Dipper, I stand behind the small boy placing my hands on his shoulders reassuringly.

"Always a bucket of sunshine with you huh," I cock my head to the side with a chilling smile, "Careful now Valentino, we don't want last time's accident to repeat itself now do we?"

I watch as Robbie's face loses all color and how he shifts uncomfortably in place.

Wendy gets our attention to get in the van to which he seems thankful. Dipper tries to ride shotgun, but Robbie gets to it first forcing the younger boy to ride in the back. I take a seat in between the twins. Thompson warns us that his mom doesn't want us to punch the roof anymore to which the teens did anyway while chanting his name. The poor boy drives us to the location Wendy wants us to see.

"Lia, what did you do to that guy?" Dipper asks in a low voice after a little while of silence.

I chuckle remembering the amusing accident," Let's say things went into places they weren't supposed to go into, he had to go to the hospital and walked funny for a week due to it."

He winces," Noted."

Soon we reach our destination and at this time night has fallen so it's relatively dark now. We stand on the other side of a fence surrounding an abandoned convenience store with its big neon name sign flickering ominously. Dipper freaks out a little when he finds out that some people were murdered in the store which caused it to be shut down and it's been haunted ever since.

"Heh, this should be interesting."

We start climbing over the fence and look up to see Dipper struggling. I stare at him blankly.

"Hurry up, Pinetree, we ain't gonna be here all night waiting on you," I cross my arms.

Before Robbie could say a word I grabbed his hoodie, pulled it over his head before pulling on the drawstrings of his hoodie tightening around his face successfully muffling him.

Lee gets to the top of the fence then grabs Dipper, "Lia, catch," he throws the boy at me.

I catch Dipper effortlessly and place him on his feet on the ground.

"Thanks, " he mumbles, I nod.

We see Robbie try to open the door but he can't. Dipper volunteers to try but the older boy dismisses him, taunting him. I roll my eyes at his childishness. Wendy scolds Robbie and calls Dipper a little kid to which he takes as a challenge. He climbs the dumpster then climbs up to the roof of the store and starts punching the air vent.

I smirk, "Pinetree got guts."

Robbie wants to bet that Dipper doesn't make it but before anything could happen the kid opens the door from the inside allowing us to go in and shutting up Robbie.

"Well look at that Valentino, the kid is already better than you," I taunt Robbie making him glare at me, I smirk at him unfazed by his childish glare.

"Gnomes are more dangerous than you'll ever be."

We all go in. While they are all discussing if the place is truly haunted I notice the open sign at the door gets flipped over, My face twitches trying to hide a crazed smile that wants to make itself known.

"So it is haunted! Wonderful!"

Don't be afraid to leave a review I don't bite unless ya are into that ;)
