That moment was perfect as he began to lean down, she felt her eyes close as he got closer, she could feel his breath on her skin, when suddenly her phone ringing broke the moment.

"Shit, sorry." She said dropping her head and chewing her lip as she moved to grab it. "I wasn't expecting a call." Her breath hitched a little, as she saw Street's name on the screen, swiping the red phone and turning it over to ignore his call. "Well, except yours," she chuckled stepping back to him.

"Chris," he began with a kind smile, "It's fine, I just showed up unannounced remember. It's not the end of the world." The way he grinned at her like he meant he'd get another chance to kiss her made her cheeks flush. Chris tried to hide her smirk by letting her hair cover her face.

"Okay, now, I might not have known you very long, I'll admit that, but when you drop your head like that and turn away slightly, I know your trying to shield your emotions from me."

Chris glanced up at him surprised by that. "Really? You know that do you?" She said with a grin.

"Uh huh, and…..." he continued smiling, "the way you ignored that call and turned your phone over," he eyed her as she began to look worried, "Tells me that that call interrupting that moment really pissed you off."

Chris laughed and nodded. "Yeah, it did. You're right okay," she chuckled holding her hands up in surrender, as she moved from him to sit on the lounge. "Hey, how about we order some dinner, and just enjoy some quiet time?"

He began to walk over, "Wait, you're gunna waste this gourmet butter chicken?" He glared at her playfully. She couldn't help but laugh at him and shoved him a little as he sat down.

"Okay Mister, watch yourself." She chuckled.

"Or what?" He asked amused.

"You can always go to your hotel and eat alone?" Chris smirked confidently. He glanced away from her up to the beams on the ceiling and scrunched his lips.

"Mmmmm," he hummed thinking. He slowly looked back at her with a gleam in his eye. "And miss a night on the sofa with you?" He paused and watched her smile "I don't think so." He reached for her and hugged her against him.

"I, um," Chris began.

"What?" He answered as his head rested on hers.

"I really like this banter we have. You make me smile and laugh a lot!" She chuckled, "and my cheeks friggin hurt." She added.

"Would you like me to stop?" He teased.

"No, no I would not. It's been a while since I felt this happy." She blurted. God what was it about this guy? She couldn't hold her walls up no matter how hard she tried. Stuff just kept falling out of her mouth and she couldn't fight the urge to feel him against her, to feel his arms around her or be holding his hand.

"Good." He answered intertwining her fingers. Chris looked down away from him. She bit at her lip and inhaled hard. Trying to regain control of herself. "You okay there?"

She rolled her eyes and smiled looking up and then back at him. "You make me so nervous." She giggled. "God, what is wrong with me?" She laughed holding her hand up to her mouth.

They both laughed as he wrapped his arms around her and held her. "You make me nervous too," he chuckled. Chris tried to regain her composure, "But you also make me want things that I started to give up on." He added, a different tone in his voice. Almost sad.

Chris stroked his fingers with her thumb. "Hey," she said slowly. "What was that? What was that hint of vulnerability in your voice when you said that?" She watched him intently as he closed his eyes briefly and twisted his lips about.

"I just, I mean, I'm sure you have shit in your past that upsets you too and is why you are here now, and I guess I have some things that are the reasons I am here too."

"Like what?" Chris asked gently. Wondering if he would open up to her or begin to shut down and use his sarcasm to change the topic.

He inhaled hard and squeezed his arm tighter that was around her shoulder. "I just never thought I would find someone I wanted to chase things with again. I guess I wasn't sure if I ever could trust someone like I did." He explained.

"Someone hurt you?" She said gently glancing up at him.

"Yeah, a few years ago now, but I hadn't wanted another relationship, didn't think I could face opening up again."

Chris smiled and nudged him, "Yet here you are." She said with a tease in her voice.

He smiled and nodded looking down at her. "Yes, here I am."

"Why?" Chris mumbled sitting up off him and turning to look at him.

"Why what?" He asked squinting at her,

"Why me? Why now?"

He slowly began to smile as he reached for her hand again, "If I am being honest, it's not just one thing. It's a lot of things. You are amazing, you make me feel something, want things, you make me happy. Like I said before I can't get you out of my thoughts. I, I am scared, but I know I shouldn't walk away from this feeling."

Chris smiled as she dropped her gaze. She sat chewing her lip as she muttered, "Good" glancing at him.

"Hey, I mean it." He chuckled.

"I know, I see that." She smiled. Before she could say anything else, he sat forwards and wrapped his arm around her, tugging her close to him.

"Can I kiss you now?" He whispered looking into her eyes.

Chris's face burst into a huge smile as she blinked and grinned and nodded. "Mmhmm." He caressed her neck and ran this thumb along her jawline as he closed the distance and softly pressed his lips against hers. That exact contact made Chris forget everything in the world ever existed. Their lips danced with each other's slowly, tentatively exploring this feeling between them. Chris ran her hand up his arm, across his broad shoulder into his hair, pulling him closer to deepen that kiss.

As they eventually broke apart and took a breath each, Chris felt the joy, the happiness bursting out of her.

"Wow!" She mumbled as she let her eyes find his.

"Yeah, that was..." he fumbled for words and grinned. As he lent in a kissed her again.
