Watching Street walk away when she knew he needed someone was heartbreaking, but he had left in such a rush that by the time she gathered up her things and tried to chase him he was gone. So, she sent him a text.

"Street, I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel like you had to go. I am here if you wanna talk. Text me back."

She couldn't do much more than that as she went to put her phone in her bag, she saw Jared had text her.

"Can't wait to see you soon beautiful x." Chris couldn't help but bite her lip and smile in response.

"Leaving home now, see you shortly xx"

Spending that day with Jared was amazing. They laughed, held hands, talked about so many things, got to know each other in so many new ways and by the time it got late again Chris felt sad that he would again be leaving her side.

"I have had a wonderful day." She gushed as he stood with her next to her truck holding her hands.

"Me too Chris. It was definitely worth coming here to see you." Chris blushed and smiled, licking her lip nervously and looking down.

"Good." She mumbled.

"Hey," he said stepping closer, she slowly glanced up. His eyes locked on hers as he moved even closer, tugging her against him and leaning down to kiss her. Chris was lost in the passion and feelings as she kissed him back. As they drew apart, she told him,

"You know this is making it harder for me to say goodnight." She giggled.

"I know," he laughed, "But we got this Chris." He smiled.

"I hate that I have to work tomorrow. Can we still hang out for one last night after shift?"

"Where else am I gunna be?" He teased her.

"Good, I just wish I had known you would be here; I would have taken the shift off …"

"Hey!" He interrupted her.

"It's fine. I can go see a few buddies and catch up, while you're at work. Then, I will take you out to dinner one last time." Chris nodded. It made her smile deep down inside knowing that he meant he wanted this to work out. He wanted to take it slow too and build this relationship properly.

Soon Chris had gotten home and fallen into bed. Her mind still intoxicated by him. When her thoughts ticked to Street. She wondered if he was okay and made a pact with herself to check on him when she got to shift the next day.

That shift the next day was hectic though to say the least. They still had TLI drills Hondo and Luca had set up, 2 missions before lunch, meetings with Dr Wendy scheduled and Chris had to follow up more of her Virginia trip with Lynch. She managed, however, to find Street though, alone for a second in the locker room.

"You okay? I am sorry about yesterday." She said putting things away in her locker.

"It's okay Chris, no worries." He answered. She could tell by the tone in his voice that he just wanted to get out of there though and not talk to her. She felt really bad. She knew he was struggling with things and really needed her right now. She stopped and turned. Walking to him.

"Street, talk to me. I meant what I said. I didn't mean to make you feel like I didn't care I just…" He looked at her and held up his hand.

"I said its fine. You have a life and I just, I got in the way." Chris would swear there was a hint of jealousy or was it resentment in his voice.

"Hey, stop." She said as he went to walk away. "Can you not push me away? I mean, after everything can we just not do that again."

He paused and inhaled a bit, he desperately wanted to talk to her, to tell her what he been thinking about. Where he and Molly were at, and he knew she was trying to be supportive here. However, at the same time he felt like he was getting in the way. That she probably had just met a guy, and he was about to ruin it all for her. He slowly turned back to her, scrunching his lips.

"You tell me when a good time is then. I can't talk here." Chris heard the shake in his voice and felt a lump rise in her throat. She would swear there was almost a tear in his eye. She stepped closer to him. Raising her hand to his arm.

"You are still important to me. I will make time."

This was so difficult. Chris's heart was breaking a little and torn in two right now. Half of her was so happy and giddy and falling in love, and the other half was hurting for Street and the turmoil he seemed to be in. So, standing in front of her mirror, dressed up all nice, looking hot for Jared, she felt herself frown as she wondered if she should have made time tonight for that talk with Street.

When she had said, "You are still important to me. I will make time," he had walked away out the door saying,

"Don't screw that new thing up because of me," and that was at that moment she realised that Street had read the situation well enough to know she was seeing someone. It made her wonder, was he jealous? What had happened with he and Molly? Why was he so upset?

She inhaled, ran her hands down her abdomen, smoothing the tight red dress she had chosen as she chewed her lip and made eye contact with herself.

This was the last chance she had to make that decision. Was she going ahead with Jared's "proper date night" as he called it, or cancelling to try and help Street?

Her head was a mess. She desperately felt the want with Jared. She wanted to know how much he felt for her, What this could be? Where it could go? and was he right for her? But she also wanted to help her friend. She still desperately cared for Street and hated seeing him hurting.

The only way she would feel better about this situation was to text Street and make a time for tomorrow night. When Jared would have gone home, and she would have a clear and free run to give him the time to really listen to him and help.

"Hey. I hope you are okay. Can we grab a pizza and talk tomorrow night?"

She sat on the bed putting on her heels and glanced at the screen as she got the reply.

"Sure, & have fun tonight."

She rolled her eyes and cursed. How did he know she was going on a date? That was gunna play on her mind all night, and she hated it.
