Day 2
Dear Hermione,
I was surprised to receive another gift from you this morning. The two turtle doves were pleasing to the eye, though the fight they started with the partridge wasn't as pleasing to the ears. The partridge escaped to Mother's shoulder, where it glared balefully at the turtledoves who had taken its place on the peartree.
Father had to send for a Magizoologist after the fight, and it cost 7 Sickles. He also didn't know any spells to remove the pile of droppings under the peartree. Mother is also starting to get a stain on her robes from the partridge, but she intends to train the bird and is willing to put up with it. Bird feathers float around the Drawing Room whenever someone walks close to the tree.
