Chapter 107
Tess lay in bed and couldn't sleep. She couldn't stop thinking about Finn. She was still really overwhelmed about the whole thing. She had never experienced this level of feelings. She recognized she loved him, but it was very different than any other time she had been in love. It was much more intense and sudden than any experience she had ever had with love before. There was still so much she didn't know about him. It didn't make sense that she loved him when she didn't even know his birthday, or his favorite song, but she loved him anyway.
She also recognized she had missed him today. She would have liked to have been with Finn today seeing the Demo Derby Car be unveiled, and she thought about Kate's comment about finding a superhero. Had she found her superhero? Was she pushing away Captain America? What if he wasn't a superhero at all, but just a villain who would break her heart?
Tess thought about what would happen if Finn learned more about her and decided he didn't love her any more. There was still so much he didn't know about her. What if he decided he didn't like what he learned about her. He would leave her utterly heartbroken. What if they got married, and he lived at Drovers and they were happy, but he got homesick and wanted to move back to the US? How would she handle that? How would Claire handle that? What if Claire got attached and they broke up? What would that do to her? Tess's head was flooded with scary thoughts of abandonment.
