It's October of 2020, but the wildfires and worldwide pandemic never happened. We return to Gungellan for a modern reboot of our beloved McLeod's Daughters. The cattle stations of Drovers Run and Killarney are still working farms, and Wilgul has found a new life. Time has passed, but the love flowing around Drovers Run has never faltered.

Chapter 131

Claire had more fun than she thought she would. Xander spent most of the party talking to Jaz about training techniques and that left her and Blake alone together a lot. She had sort of given up on Blake liking her after her experience with the Demo Car. Claire remembered what Jodi had told her and decided not to worry about trying to make him like her. She instead decided to try being his friend and getting to know about him and not worrying if he thought she was pretty. She felt silly for how she acted the other day. She didn't even know Blake, why was she so upset he didn't notice her? She thought.

"Hey did you ever see Batman vs. Superman?" Blake asked

"Yeah, why?"

"Because I haven't seen it. I liked the Marvel Avengers movies, but I'm not sure about DC characters. Did you like it?" asked Blake

"It was different from the Avengers movies. It's not as funny, more dark, but it's where Wonder Woman makes her first appearance in the recent movies, and she's my favorite character, so I really liked it. Who is your favorite comic book character?"asked Claire.

"I don't read comic books much, but I liked watching all the Avengers movies. I like Hulk. I like to watch him smash stuff and climb up buildings. Captain America is cool too. I like that he doesn't have a weapon, but rather a shield, so he is defense oriented. I just wish he was Australian. The movies never make the heroes Australian. They're always American or occasionally British. I think Australians need more love in the superhero area."

"Well Suicide Squad had Captain Boomerang. He's Australian. I was excited about getting to see an Australian Superhero in a big Hollywood movie, but he kind of sucked. He was the worst one in the squad. He seemed like a tosser to me. I watched the movie and was so disappointed in my countryman," admitted Claire.

"Aw man really? That is disappointing. Australia finally got its big moment and Captain Boomerang blew it for all of us." said Blake.

"At least we got one, plus a bunch of Australian actors play superheroes. Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and Chris Helmsworth is Thor, plus Margot Robbie plays Harley Quinn, who is a super villain turned hero in Suicide Squad."

"Haha, they take Australian actors and make them do American accents. You really know a lot about comic books and superheroes. You must be really smart." said Blake.

'Thanks, I like comic books and stuff a lot, so I guess I do know a lot about them."
