Chapter 137
Jodi, Matt, Kate and Russell were sitting with Becky and Jake.
Hey guys, thanks so much. We've gotta get out of here. Riley is asleep right there in the grass. Thanks for hosting a great party," said Marcus.
"Yes, thanks so much, good night guys," said Ingrid holding Ryan's hand. He looked very tired.
"Hey guys, what are you talking about?" Charlotte asked as she joined the group.
"We are filling in Becky and Jake about everything that happened at Drovers over the last eighteen years since Becky left and never came back until today," joked Jodi.
"I'm learning quite a bit too," confessed Russell. "Jodi and Kate tell us everything, and then one of us has to do the recap. You are just in time for the second recap after Becky left and your mom passed away. It's Jake's turn for the recap. Listen up, Charlotte, this should be interesting and informative," said Russell.
"Okay, so after Sally's baby came, things got worse between Nick and Tess, with Nick lying about going to see Sally and the baby, and they separated. Kate, you start falling for Dave when he rescues neglected horses, and Jodi, you get fired because you spend too much time with your drag racing mechanic boyfriend, Luke. Then, Kate, you take a job at Nick's stepmom's farm, but you decide you don't like it, and Jodi sells cosmetics and doesn't like that either. But then you all realize you're happier at Drovers Run and you all come back. Sally takes her son Harrison away from Drovers and Tess and Nick patch up their marriage, but Luke goes from drag racing to drug running, and ends up in prison. Jodi, you're heartbroken. Nick gets a fancy job in Argentina so he goes to South America. Then, Jasmine's sister Regan, another McLeod cousin, shows up and wants to mine for gold underneath Drovers Run, but she eventually realizes that it was a shitty thing to do to her cousin, so she doesn't continue with the mine but she leaves. Then Tess moves to Argentina to work on her marriage with Nick, who felt the need to work on his marriage by having his wife leave her entire support system and move a world away. Then Stevie has to run Drovers Run without Tess, and that is really difficult. Then this cute guy named Rob shows up at Killarney, but Jodi, you think he's gay, but he's not gay, he's just neat and organized. Then Stevie's daughter shows up, but Rose doesn't know Stevie is her mom, but she figures it out and causes drama there. So then Kate, despite being in love with Dave, starts dating his younger brother Patrick because Dave doesn't seem interested in her. In the meantime, Jodi, you inherit $100,000 from Jack McLeod which causes you to question who your father really is, and to fight with your mom who had conveniently also written a book about a woman who had an affair with the owner of a cattle station and lied about who the father of her daughter was. Jodi, You run away and the cute guy Rob, who wasn't gay, helps you process your feelings anout your mother lying to while on an overnight cattle drive. Jodi, you do genetic testing, but while you're waiting for the results, Tess comes home from Argentina and finds out she is pregnant, and then finds out the plane Nick was supposed to be on crashed and everyone thinks he is dead. Jodi is officially Tess' sister, but the timing is really off. Stevie realizes she is in love with Alex, but before she can tell him, he goes off on a bender because of the grief of his dead brother after burning down a building on Killarney with his step mom. Jodi and Rob save Alex, but Jodi sees that Rob has a box with a picture of a woman who looks a lot like her. He ran back into the fire for it, so it was obviously important, but you didn't know why yet. I think I nailed it." Jake laughed.
"If you think that's a story, wait till the next part." Tess said as she approached the group. "It gets even crazier."
"Where did Finn go?" Kate asked
"He went back to the pub for the night." Tess explained.
"I'm a little surprised you didn't ask him to stay. It seemed like you were really vibing tonight." Jodi joked.
"I did ask him to stay, but he explained why he shouldn't, so he's on his way home."
"Sorry Tess," Jodi responded
"I'm good. He made a very compelling argument for waiting just a little bit longer," explained Tess.
"I don't need to know what the argument was." said Matt.
"I wasn't going to share that part anyway." said Tess. "Where's Stevie?"
"She is over there, smiling at her phone." observed Russell.
"I bet that's James." Tess smirked, "Now Jodi, get on with the story.
Claire was sitting with Xander watching the adults laughing.
"How well do you know Blake?" Claire asked
"I dunno, he has come around a few times this year. It's nice when he's here because he's my mate. Bobby has only been working for us for less than a year."
"Why didn't you ever introduce him to me before?"
"I did, you guys met before, a few months ago."
"We did? I don't remember that."
"Yeah you came over to help with the sheep shearing, and he was there helping too. Why do you care?"
"I don't. I just didn't remember ever meeting him before."
"Why are you being weird?"
"I'm not being weird. I just wanted to know how well you knew Blake seeing how you left us together for the whole night."
