Chapter 145
Tess was starting to feel a little better. She had set up the wooden kitchen chair with the heating pad wedged in to get her lower back. She had a hotwater bottle draped over her neck.
"Hey, I just wanted to make sure you got back safely. It was late and you must have been exhausted from all the driving." Tess said to Finn on the phone.
"Hey, thanks for worrying, I made it safely, but I crashed as soon as I got to my room, and I slept pretty late this morning. How are you feeling?" asked Finn.
"Truth be told, not very good. I've got a hot water bottle on my neck and a heating pad on my lower back. I have to sit in a wooden chair for the structure. I can't really move much, but I'm better than I was two hours ago."
'Oh Tess, I'm sorry you are hurting so much. Why did you do the Demolition Derby anyway?" asked Finn.
"Finn, I had to do the Demolition Derby. I can deal with the pain. I had to do it," said Tess.
"But why?"
"Because I had to prove to myself I could do something scary, get hurt and still get through it," Tess explained.
Stevie was finishing up a good training session with Xander. He had talked to Jaz about adding video to his training and Stevie agreed to help him with it.
"Okay Xander, run that again." They had set up a tripod and Xander's phone to try to capture the way he released the rope from his hand.
Stevie felt a buzz from her phone. She had a text, probably from James.
"How's the weather at Killarney?" sent James.
"Another beautiful day, but I wouldn't mind a little rain." Stevie typed back.
"A little rain is always appreciated, but I like thinking about the sun shining on your face." was James' response
