Chapter 148
"Well I think the bleeding stopped now." said Blake "I'm sorry. I ruined your shirt, and the date, everything. I stuffed it all up."
"Blake, it's okay. I'm clumsy, I was reaching to get the biscuit, but I didn't want to let go of your hand, so I was reaching across with my other hand, and I wasn't expecting you to turn your head. Oh Blake, I'm really sorry." said Claire.
"I ruined everything. I have to leave soon to go to my mom's, but I just realized I like you Claire. Hanging out with you last night made me realize that yeah, you're pretty, I already knew that, but you're so smart and I really like you. You know so much about so many things. You taught me all about superheros and it was so cool to hear about Captain Boomerang, even if he is a tosser. Now, I want to watch the movie together with you. I wish I had realized how awesome you are sooner, because now I have to go, and I just wanted to have a real date and a real kiss with you so maybe you wouldn't forget about me while I was away at my mom's." Blake hung his head in his hands.
"Blake, you didn't ruin anything, well, maybe my shirt, but not the date. I really like you too."
Blake looked up at her. "You like me too?"
"Yeah, of course. Why do you think I asked you to come riding in the first place? I liked you from hanging out with the alpacas. I rode to Killarney to work on the Demo car just to try to spend time with you, but I didn't think you noticed me at all. You seemed really into the car," admitted Claire.
"I was really excited about the car. It was so cool to have Moira explain stuff like that and let us use the tools and actually build stuff. I've never done anything like that before. I had no idea you came there for me. I just thought you wanted to hang out with Xander. I would never have dreamed you wanted to see me. I thought you were pretty when we hung out with the alpacas, but it was last night, when I actually got to talk to you and got to know you, that I realized how incredible you are and that I really liked you. It figures that I figured it out right before I had to leave. This ride was my only chance to be with you, and I completely stuffed it." confessed Blake.
"You didn't completely stuff it," said Claire.
"But I bled all over your shirt."
"It's okay, I was wearing two. You needed it more than I did. I'm the one who made you bleed with my forehead. I reckon I'm the one to blame for my shirt," said Claire
"No, I shouldn't have turned to look at you when I did. It's my fault."
"Blake, just close your eyes for a moment okay?"
"Why? My eyes are okay, it's my nose that hurts."
"Blake, just for a moment okay?"
"Okay, fine." Blake closed his eyes.
Claire took a deep breath, and then she gently kissed him on the lips.
Blakes eyes popped open. "You kissed me!"
"Yeah. I wanted to kiss you too." Claire blushed. "It seemed like you were too upset to do it, so I did. You're leaving soon. I didn't want to wait and miss my chance. I hope that's okay," she said nervously, feeling her heart pounding in her chest.
"It was great! I liked it, but my dad is texting me now. I have to head back to Killarney to get ready to go," said Blake, looking down at his phone.
"I had a good time with you." Claire offered with a smile.
"I'm glad you agreed to come when you found out it was just me, and not Xander too."
"I never wanted Xander to come, I just assumed you'd bring him because I didn't think you liked me like that. I thought it was just friends going riding, but since it was a date, I wouldn't want my cousin here. I'm just glad you're here." Claire smiled at him again.
"So can I text you and stuff while I'm back at my mom's? You never answered me before."
"Yeah, you can text me and snap me and stuff. Do you have instagram? I'll follow you if you do."
"I have an account, but I almost never post anything. I just look at other people's posts." Blake admitted.
"Give me your phone." Claire said, as she guided him in front of Parker and Boomer.
"Okay, why?" asked Blake.
"Smile!" Claire took a selfie of her and Blake with Parker and Boomer. "Post that. I'll like it."
"Okay, thanks." said Blake. "I guess we should get going then."
"I'll ride with you to the Killarney border. We can say goodbye then, In the meantime, I'll race you!" She climbed onto Parker and was off. Blake took off after her.
