Welcome to a fic full of love titled Soulmate! Who this would be about was obvious for me the second I saw the theme. I guess I added a bit of true stories in it as well... I'm not sure I really believed in soulmates before, but now I really want to, as the one I'm considering to be The One is snoring on my lap as I write these words hahaha (that's so cute I'm dying)
There wasn't a single thing in this world, or in any other, that didn't remind Terra of Aqua. Whether it was a flower he thought would look gorgeous in her hair, a book he thought she'd love to read, a song he could almost hear her humming… She was everywhere with him. When he was somewhere cold, he missed the warmth of her hand in his, but felt relieved she wasn't there to catch a cold. When he was in beautiful places, he would try to remember everything he could to tell her about it later, or plan to bring her there next time. When his eyes caught a glimpse of blue, he always double checked it wasn't her being there. Every expedition done without her, he would count the hours, then the minutes before he could be back to her. He didn't linger, hurrying back to wrap his arms around her, burying his head in her hair, whispering words for them only to hear.
When he was next to her, he was the happiest man alive. The way she smiled, the way she looked at him, the way she laughed at his jokes, the way she would roll her eyes when she was mad… There wasn't a single thing he didn't love about her. When they were alone, he would take her hand and start dancing in the empty hall, and even when there was no music, they would waltz and turn and twist until exhaustion.
When she was away from him, he only had to think about her for his heart to start dancing as well. The memories of her, of the way she looked, barely awake as he left, kept him smiling through the day. He was always on the lookout to find something she would like to bring home to her. She often joked he was like a magpie or a crow, always bringing gifts even though he didn't have to. But he could see how her eyes sparkled every time, how she liked the tiny surprises, never expecting them. On the days he forgot to bring something, she never looked expectant, disappointed. She never assumed he would bring her something, and always thrilled when he did.
She, too, brought her tiny treasures. Pretty pictures she took with her Gummi phone. Exquisite fragrances she had found on foreign markets. Delicious food she had been waiting to try with him. And when she couldn't see him, he saw how her eyes always scanned the room to find him.
He couldn't imagine a life without her, but he knew he didn't have to worry. That wouldn't happen anyway. No matter the trials they had gone through, they always had found their way back to one another, and he knew that if anything were to happen again, they would once again defy fate. A life without Aqua was no life at all. He had spent countless years waiting for her, and he would make sure this would never happen again.
"What might you be thinking about this time?" Her voice brought him back from his reverie. She had her head tilted, curiosity painted all over her face.
"I love you," he simply said, smiling. She chuckled, her cheeks pink.
"I don't think I'll ever grow tired of that. I love you too, Terra."
She took his hand, and he pulled her into a tight embrace.
They were right where they should be.
Tomorrow will be the final one! This month really flew by! I'm unsure if there will be a calendar next year, honestly. It highly depends on whether we get some good KH content in 2022. Writing this one without anything new this year has been really tough.
Anyway, the final theme is Heavens!
