Chapter 160
"Okay so I set up a few remote cameras for the girls. "I had a couple extra cameras I had bought to try with the drone, but decided not to use them there. Instead I've attached it to these elastic bands that can go over their hats. The cameras will work similarly to how it works on the drone, except these won't fly. They just need to turn them on and the video will stream live here on this tablet, just like the drone camera. The battery life on these won't be as long, but I have these solar chargers and a spare battery pack for each so if they turn it on while they're traveling and drape this solar pad across the saddle bags, we should be able to watch most of what's going on." Russell showed the two cameras to Kate as he spoke. "I thought Dylan might like to see the live feeds, so he can see how the operation is going. I have two cameras and I can send the links to anyone who wants them, so we can all have it up on our phones while we are home. I have the same GPS tracking program attached to them as well." Rusell said to Kate.
"That's really cool, honey. You are so good at this stuff. I don't know how you do it." said Kate. "I'm sad about missing out on the trip, so at least I can check in on them virtually, plus it adds some safety nets. At least we can know if something goes wrong and where they are, even if we can't get there easily."
"I had the stuff here from leftover drone parts, I figured we might as well use it. I've grown attached to this shed. I hope I can have a workshop wherever we end up." said Russell.
"An Ironman needs his laboratory. I'm sure we can find you something you like," said Kate as she was putting supplies together for the trip.
"Why are you packing? You're not going on the trip," Russell pointed out
"Well no, but there's no reason why I can't help them prepare. I put together a first aid kit, and some emergency horse care supplies they may not have thought of."
"Just remember that they have to pack everything they need for three days in saddle bags, they can't bring everything."
