Chapter 164
"Xander look, right there, you are making an extra movement here as you approach the calf. It's probably costing you a half second or so." Stevie pointed on the screen as they reviewed the footage in super slow motion. "Tomorrow, that's where we focus, okay honey?"
"Well spotted Mom, I'm glad you're my coach. I'm going to go watch a movie upstairs. Good night."
"Good night honey." Stevie gave Xander a hug and a kiss on the forehead. "I'm proud of you."
"Thanks Mom," Xander said as he walked away.
Stevie smiled as she thought about how hard her son was working towards his goal. Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone beeping with a message.
"Hey, I was thinking about you. Want to watch a movie together?" the text from James read.
Stevie picked up her phone and called James.
"Hey are you in town? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" she asked.
"Nope, but I was thinking about you and I wanted to have another date," said James.
"Well I'd love to watch a movie with you, but I'm not sure how to do that," said Stevie.
"Well, first we pick what movie we want to watch." instructed James.
"I'm not sure. There is nothing in particular I want to see, What do you want to watch?"
"Well I had a few in mind. How about I name a few and see if you like one." suggested James.
"Sure what do you have in mind?"
"Well currently in my Netflix cue is 1. No Country for Old Men, 2. Ned Kelly, the one with Heath Ledger, not the Mick Jagger one. Or 3. Mad Max, Fury Road. I guess you can tell I like action movies. Would any of those work for you?" James asked.
"Hmm, I'm not a huge post-apocalyptic film fan so I'll pass on Mad Max I think. I've seen both Ned Kelly movies, so I'll choose No Country for Old Men. What's it about?" asked Stevie.
"It's like a western, but also a thriller movie, I think. I haven't seen it, but my brother said it was one of the best movies he's seen in a long time. It is one of those movies I keep meaning to watch, but just haven't gotten around to yet." said James.
"Well I like Westerns, so let's watch that, but how do we watch it together?" asked Stevie.
"Okay, so we facetime each other and start the movie at the exact same time, but at our own houses. We talk about what we are seeing while it's on and it can sort of be like we are watching it together. We could even try to eat the same snacks." James explained "It's not as good as the real thing, but it's the best I could think of given the situation."
"Oh yeah, I get it. That sounds nice. We can have a movie date together." Stevie smiled.
"Oh don't take the money, just walk away. Walk away LLewelyn!" cried Stevie
"Bad choice mate, just leave it alone! It's not worth the trouble." shouted James.
"This will not end well for you, just continue with your hunting!" said Stevie.
