As they waved off Annie and Deacon, after helping to wrangle the kids and gear back to their car, Street glanced at her. The daylight had faded, and it was beginning to grow dark.

"So?" He began turning back to her, his hands resting idly in his pockets.

"So?" She answered turning to him wearing a smile. She had all but guessed what he was easing into asking.

"Do you feel like hanging out more? Or should I just let you go home and have quiet time?..."

She laughed lightly as she stepped a bit closer to him. "Why do you think I want to be left alone? Or need quiet time?" She asked with her head tilted to the side and her eyes narrowed.

"I dunno," he shrugged. "You're used to living alone and this is new and …."

"And now that you're not officially SWAT anymore…..." Her words trailed off as her eyes widened and head tilted again for emphasis. She was hoping he would drop the shy act and catch onto what she was thinking.

He smiled slowly and chewed his lip a bit before he drew his hands from his pockets and looked at her. "So, you wanna hang out?" He asked observing her as he tried to read her.

"If you are asking me if I want you to come home with me and finally have some real deal couple time... then…. that would be a yes." She laughed. She loved how insecure and vulnerable he got when around her sometimes. She took his hands and grinned at him.

He smiled back at her and rubbed his thumbs over the backs of her hands. Taking in every emotion he saw in her dark brown eyes.

"You know, since telling the team, and now finishing that last shift, I, I am pretty nervous but excited that we can be…"

"Together?" She finished.

"Yeah," he nodded, and tugged her closer. "Do you understand how long I have wanted this to be a reality? To be standing here with you, talking about a future together, as a couple, in a relationship?"

She smiled and just danced her eyes with his. She felt her emotions building and her eyes became a bit damp. As she swallowed and blinked a bit quicker to get rid of the tears, he lifted their hands to be clasped between them.

"Christina?" He said softly making her look at him questioningly. He never called her that. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He got out. Her face smiling as she chuckled a bit, before her eyes widened, and she shook her head.

"Really? Why are you asking me that?" A slight chuckle in her voice as she shook her head.

"Cause," he laughed a bit embarrassed. "I know I sound like I'm in High School or something, but I want you to be my girlfriend. I want that to be official. From this very second on."

Chris smiled and brushed her hair behind her ear as she chewed her lip and laughed lightly.

"I really like the sound of that," she said as she slid her hands around his waist and tugged him closer, feeling his arms wrapping her up as he hugged her tightly.

After that sweet embrace and a soft kiss, he looked down at her, "So is that a, yes?"

Chris laughed. "Yes, that's a yes." She looked up at him. He smiled and kissed her again. Before she stepped back. "Okay, come on, we should get moving, it's getting dark."

Street nodded, and as he went to answer, he heard Jared's voice.

"Hey, night you two." Jared called as he and Caitlin approached the parking lot. Both Chris and Street turned to look.

"Oh yeah, night." Street answered back.

"It was nice to see you both." Jared added giving Chris a soft smile.

"Yeah, it was." She nodded, giving him a smile back too.

"Well, I'll see you," Jared smiled pointing at Street, "bright and early Monday morning." He patted Street's back as they moved past. "Can't wait to get this taskforce operational."

"Yeah, me too." Street smiled. "Have a great weekend." He added as Caitlin and Danielle both waved,

"You too, night." Caitlin finished.

As Chris climbed in next to Street in her truck, she smiled tugging the door closed.

"Why are you smiling?" He asked clipping up his seat belt.

"Because, I just would never have believed that that wasn't painfully awkward like I had imagined it would be." She motioned around them.

Street nodded and started the truck as he reached for her hand. "Well, I am glad you are okay."
