The Meeting of the Minds
Chapter 1 Lucas Kerin
AN: This chapter is a Christmas present for my best friend who this character is based off. Merry Christmas to him and whoever else is reading this.

Lucas Kerin was the last mindmate that Daisy found in her universe during her education at SMS as she wanted to finish secondary school before travelling across the universes.
They first met online in a songwriting group for teenagers during Covid with 4 other teens with ADHD.
Daisy was quarantining with Josh (formerly the Master) at the Whovian Club as her family was dead and she had a bad feeling about the couple who had adopted her.
She was invited to the group by an old contact of her Mum's Farah from ADHD Ireland. Josh encouraged her to do it and she never regretted taking his advice.
The six clicked almost immediately even though they had never met in person before and their group leader Spencer helped them bond with a structured activity first and then letting them talk at the end and they were constantly Rickrolling each other and accusing each other of crimes ranging from drug dealing to terrorism. No one had admitted anything but Daisy never told them about how she and the Whovian Club dealt with the regular things that came out of the crack.
After the group broke up for the summer, they promised to keep in contact except for Angelica who refused to join the groupchat. Daisy organised a weekly zoom link and made time for her new friends every week
Darren came once and Sasha came a few times but the only one that showed up nearly every week was Lucas.
Eventually, Josh and Lucas' Mum Sierrah started texting and Josh arranged for Daisy to join another social group her friend was in that was very similar to a youth club.
The new group decided to meet in a local park that neither Josh nor Daisy had heard of as it was not in Torc, but on the other side of the county.
Unfortunately, the leader was not very specific as to where exactly the group would meet. So Josh and Daisy went to their closest entrance.
They stopped beside a convenient map of the park for a few minutes while Josh tried to get a signal so that he could text Sierrah.
Luckily Daisy felt the familiar tug in her mind behind her that signalled that a new mindmate was close for the first time since the year ended.
She spun around quickly and told everyone in the bond "Attention all Whovians! I have found a new mindmate," she did a double-take and then added surprised "And it appears to be my new friend Lucas."
"I'm right beside you Dais," muttered Josh disgruntled as they usually didn't use the bond when they were near each other unless they needed to have a private conversation or they were watching something on the screen.
But Daisy ignored him and yelled "LUKAS!"
The duo jogged up to meet Lucas and Sierrah for the first time. They all agreed to head towards the playground to hopefully meet the rest of the group.
They were correct and their first meeting in person was a great success.
Since then, Daisy went to Lucas' house nearly every week.
But everything changed for him when one day, Daisy received a call and excused herself to take it.
"Daisy, crack activity code red Time Lord," said Josh at the other end of the line.
"Gods! I'm in Lucas' house on the other side of the country and he'll notice if I disappear suddenly," she cursed alarmed and worried.
Josh made a snap decision, "Bring him with you, he's a mindmate anyway so he'll find out sooner or later and most Time Lords tend to be like stuffy politicians including it seems this one so he won't be in any physical danger before he joins training sessions with Lily. We may need to outnumber this guy and three would be better than two since he's been your closest contact outside me and Sarah who live with you," he said reasonably.
"Fine. We'll be there within 5 minutes," she said unable to argue.
She joined her Lucas again. "Do you trust me?" she asked him.
"Yes," he said confused as to what brought this question on.
"Then put your mask on and hold my arm," instructed Daisy.
While he did that, Daisy put an episode of Daredevil that they had both watched already on so that it wouldn't be suspicious that they weren't talking suddenly.
When Lukas put his hand on her arm, she brought them both to the Whovian Club.
"Wha-" he started understandably confused.
"I'll explain later but right now, we need to make sure that the intruder Time Lord doesn't cause any havoc in our universe," said Daisy firmly.
Josh walked into the room and reported to Daisy "We're dealing with a male Time Lord who is well over 5000 years old on his third regeneration. His name is apparently Zethanenungrass and he was going to a meeting when he fell through the crack. He seems arrogant, self-obsessed and is currently whining about dirty robes in our kitchen. I want to get rid of him as soon as possible,"
"How the hell are we supposed to deal with someone like that?" Daisy asked confused.
"Don't look at me, I was insane and brainwashed to be evil for most of my life. I'm only just learning what a healthy relationship is," said Josh.
"The closest I can compare is Oliver in primary school. We didn't get on at all and avoided each other whenever possible," Daisy snorted bitterly.
"I know someone like him. I could put up with him for a while," piped up Lukas.
"Are you sure?" she asked not wanting to overwhelm him but knowing that neither she nor Josh had the experience or temperament to handle the Time Lord.
"I'm sure," he confirmed.
"Great! Thanks Lukas, I'll call Rose about our prat problem, Jan you do some research on Time Lords I suggest you use wikia and Lukas please keep the Time Lord in the kitchen," ordered Daisy.
Josh showed Lukas where the kitchen was and the situation was resolved within the hour. When Zethanenungrass was finally back in his universe, the trio went to the club's library which housed most of Daisy's family's old books and a very impressive collection of superhero comics to explain exactly what was going on to Lucas.
"So Daisy has a special ability which she used to help defeat you because you were evil and now you and six other people protect the world from anything that falls out of the crack which is just outside this bigger on the inside than the outside sentient clubhouse, you have a telepathic bond and you want me to join?" asked Lucas trying to sum it up.
"Basically, yeah" said Daisy.
"It does sound weird when you say it like that but story of our lives," shrugged Josh.
"If you want to join, I suggest that the club meet over zoom for now. That way if you bond with us you'd know everyone," suggested Daisy nervously.
"I'll try it for a month," Lucas decided.
Lukas fitted right in with the madness of the Whovian Club and when both Daisy and Lukas were fully vaccinated, when they next met up they put on their masks.
She put her fingers on his temples and he put his on hers and the bond snapped into place.
