Ratchet: Deadlocked - Eviscerator's Origin

Bred for war, trained for battle, groomed to stardom by Gleeman Vox. Eviscerator, one of Dreadzone's deadliest gladiators who managed to finish off each opponent in less than 60 seconds with his razor sharp, titanium blades, was indisputably one of the greatest fighters in the Shadow Sector, ever. He finally met his match once he had to face Ratchet and Team Darkstar in the battledome, which resulted in his death in combat. However, very little was known about The Eviscerator. For instance, he never had any backstory in comparison to the other three Exterminators. So who was he really? Where was he from and how did he end up in Dreadzone?

In the savage insect world of planet Sarathos existed very dangerous and hostile insect creatures. The most common Leviathans dominated the most out of the overall population. However, there was another, rarer kind of creature known as Tremors that lurked in this world's terrain.

The Tremors, despite being very fast and possessing razor sharp forearm-mounted blades made out of titanium that they could use to slice through the hardest of materials which posed a huge threat to other creatures, were not predators like the Leviathans. Sarathos had strong sunlight during the day and during the peak of noon it could become extremely bright and hot, up to 70 degrees celsius. During the night it was still relatively warm like the day, the only difference was that there would be darkness rather than it being bright.

The Tremors absorbed the sunrays and got their energy and nutrients from the sun, their main and most important energy source. A certain few Tremors could even use the stored energy from the sun to fire energy blasts with immense destructive power capable of melting and obliterating the most dangerous of foes. Some Tremors could also grow wings and have the capability of flight. These unique abilities were only acquired by a long and consistent journey of training and fighting which would at one point trigger their muscle anatomy, forcing it to change into a more fitting form for their strength. The Tremors weren't meat-eaters, nor were they prey, however they still had to fight off other enemies and intruders who tried to take over their territory. Such as the King Leviathan and his army of Leviathans.

Surprising as it may sound, this was not the way the majority of the Tremors' combat experience came from. Possessing lethal weaponry such as blades in your body capable of slashing through lots of substances and also be used as very dangerous weapons would make Tremors a heavy target for hunters. Many organizations from the Solana galaxy would develop a high interest in the titanium material from the Tremors' blades. Even Megacorp from the distant Bogon galaxy would send assassins and troops to Sarathos in order to collect the valuable material.

Most of the hunters controlled highly advanced drop ships and tanks with large amounts of firepower capable of wiping out large cities. The only Tremors that would have a chance to survive would be the ones who've previously fought hunters in the battlefield and already developed their supernatural abilities. However, only very few Tremors ever got to that state. Most of them didn't reach their full potential before dying and others were not bred for war, which led to a significant decrease in their population. Their blades and their speed, despite being a very powerful and deadly combination, simply weren't enough against the troopers and their technically advanced guns and vehicles.

Be that as it may, being able to one day unleash destructive energy blasts and build wings to fly at very high speeds meant something very important for their species. Some Tremors could at one point become among the most powerful beings in the galaxy and would certainly give the hunters a run for their money.

Eviscerator was one of these Tremors. Despite being quite young at the time, he had unlocked said peculiar skills of energy blasts and flight. He could also release a vicious swarm of heat-seeking missiles from his body by performing side flips and jumping around and he could create an impenetrable force field around himself for protection. He was one of the most powerful Tremors alive. He has a past of dealing with hunters and slaying thousands of them, making him feared by them. He was very strong and lived in exile, quite far away from other Tremors that lived in villages with the rest of their kind. There had not been any attacks by hunters the last year because of him. However, that was going to change soon.

One day, Eviscerator was meditating on a tree, but was interrupted by a fellow Tremor who was sent out by the village to inform him about something important.

Eviscerator: A visitor? I never get visitors this far out.

Tremor: Yes, sir. I bring very important news. In fact, it's urgent.

Eviscerator: I suppose you wouldn't come all this way if it wasn't important.

Tremor: The hunters have returned, sir, they have taken over the villages of the south and taken away lots of our inhabitants.

Eviscerator: WHAT!?

Tremor: I know, it does not sound good.

Eviscerator: You should've come here sooner, what took you so long?

Tremor: But sir-

Before the Tremor even got to finish his sentence, The Eviscerator disappeared instantly, setting flight to the southern villages.

Eviscerator: I hope I'm not too late.

After a few minutes of flying at high speeds, he arrived at the first village. What surrounded him was a nightmare, trees in fire, damaged houses with nobody in sight.

Eviscerator: What the hell? What took place here? This is a disaster. Something very bad has happened here. And the hunters did this? I knew they were bad, but this bad?

He landed in front of a building, trying to search for other Tremors inside. As he was about to enter, he got hit by a tranquilizer dart on his back and lost consciousness.

Later, he woke up, sitting in a strange room, everything felt dizzy and he was blindfolded. But as he regained his awareness he noticed he was tied to something. He could also hear creatures standing in front of him, talking.

? 1: The boss wanted us to execute this big guy for some reason.

? 2: I heard he gave boss some trouble in the past, so he set up a special mission to have this guy terminated.

? 3: This nobody managed to give our boss a hard time? What a joke, he went down with a single tranquilizer.

? 1&2&3: *laughter*

The Eviscerator then realized that these were hunters and he had been kidnapped. They were going to kill him. One of the hunters saw that the Eviscerator woke up and walked in front of him.

Hunter 3: So you finally woke up, huh? I guess you have no idea where you are right now, so let me explain. You are in our main ship, our boss wanted us to find you and kill you so you won't get in the way of our plans to obtain the titanium from the rest of your kind.

Hunter 1: Not that it will be any good for him to know, he's going to be electrocuted now anyway.

Hunter 2: Yeah, let's not waste anymore time, just start the damn thing and get this over with.

The third hunter looked at the Eviscerator one last time.

Hunter 3: Any last words?

Eviscerator: I want to taste defeat.

Hunter 3: What? You want to taste defeat? Are those really your last words? How pathetic, are you saying that these final moments are some sort of victory for you? Because to me, you sitting here ready to die in this electric chair, certainly seems like the image of defeat.

The third hunter waved his hand up in the air, telling one of his comrades to start the button to activate the electric chair. The second hunter pressed the button and immediately the Eviscerator started tensing his body from the shock and winced in pain. After 20 seconds, the third hunter waved his hand again in the air, this time telling the second hunter to deactivate the chair. They assumed the Eviscerator died. The third hunter walked in front of the Eviscerator and had a slight grin on his face. At that very moment, the Eviscerator broke free from the ties of the chair and disappeared before the three hunter's eyes in an instant. It was an extremely quick burst of pure strength. They were extremely shocked, trying to process what just happened in front of them.

The Eviscerator then appeared behind hunter 1 and 2. He put his hands on their shoulders.

Eviscerator: What's the matter? A hostage just broke free you know, shouldn't you act quicker?

He then proceeded to bash their skulls together, killing them both. The Eviscerator then turned to face the third hunter, who was still standing in front of the electric chair, trembling in fear.

Eviscerator: Draw out your gun. They say that with the help of a weapon, weaklings and beasts are on equal terms. However, the difference between our abilities are insurmountable, that's why I didn't even have to take off this blindfold.

The hunter was still shaking and was scared of his life. In a desperate attempt, he picked up the gun from his uniform and fired a shot. However, the Eviscerator dodged it with his deadly speed, and punched the hunter in the face. The sheer impact of the blow killed him, and he recoiled away onto the electric chair where he sat with his mangled face, dead.

The Eviscerator took off the blindfold and looked down on his corpse.

Eviscerator: If you had waited a few more seconds to turn off the switch, you would've killed me. How foolish indeed, of you.

He then began making his way through the rest of his ship, killing all the hunters inside. There were hundreds of troopers against him, however all of their shots had no effect. He simply used his forcefield to deflect all shots and performed some cartwheels, releasing missiles which took care of the enemies. He had not found their boss yet, though. But he forced some hunters to give him some information about what happened and where their boss was. He was told that the Tremors from the villages were deported from their homes to the east to be executed and have their titanium blades extracted. So without hesitation, he made his way out of the ship and to the east.

After a short while, he made it to the destination. He was high up in the air so he had a bird's eye view of what was going on beneath him. He could see dead corpses of Tremors that had been killed by the hunters. He could also see that the hunters were putting new Tremor's on the line to be annihilated.

Commander: Alright, make the next line ready.

General: It's a good day with many Tremors, when it means more titanium and more money.

Commander: Hah, who would've thought some vile insects could prove to be so useful.

General: I know right, not that I blame it. Anyways, is it just me or has it gotten really bright the last few seconds?

Commander: Whatever, it's just the sun and it's almost noon, so.

General: Are you sure? It doesn't look like the sun to me.

The general pointed up in the sky and the commander looked up.

Commander: It's green, and it's becoming bigger and bigger each second. Hold on, the sun ain't green!?

General: It's not becoming bigger, it's just moving closer. Whatever that came from, the user is intending to kill us with it. RUN!

Commander: WHAT THE!?

The Eviscerator had fired an energy blast from the sky and managed to wipe out the Commander, general and a few hunters nearby. Then he landed on the ground and there were still many hunters nearby. They all pointed their weapons at him and fired, however, he simply dodged them with his mach speed and cut them all down in a matter of seconds with his titanium blades. He could hear the surviving Tremors cheering for him so he felt relaxed and lowered his guard. But that made him vulnerable to an attack, he got struck from behind by a rocket which knocked him back into the ground where he slid 50 feet away on his back.

Eviscerator: Bummer, what was that?

His eyes were blurry but he would eventually distinguish from the blur what was in front of him.

Eviscerator: Is that? Yeah, it's him alright, and also 10? No 20. Hold on, there's more than 30 of his ships too with him.

Boss: It's so nice to meet you again, my old nemesis. It's so nice seeing you go to such far lengths trying to save your little friends, only to fail and surrender in the end.

Eviscerator: Hah, I beat you before, what makes you so optimistic now, huh?

Boss: Well you see, after our previous match. I've been scanning you, collecting data on your abilities, techniques and built myself this new robot to counter you and exploit your weaknesses. In my new robot, I have all data from your powers stored here, so I can use your weapons against you! You'll never have a chan-

Eviscerator: Shut up..

Boss: What?

Eviscerator: Let's get this over with, enough talking alrea-

The boss of the hunters didn't appear to be lying, because with the new robot he built and controlled, he was extremely fast and punched the Eviscerator in the face before he got to finish his sentence. He followed it up with a kick that sent him flying in the air, and at the same second he flew up in an instant above the Eviscerator and kicked him down towards the ground.

Eviscerator: *gasp*

Boss: How dare you interrupt me, you imbecile?

The boss then fired an energy blast at him, but the Eviscerator dodged the attack by moving to the side. He then told the nearby Tremors to leave the area as it could be dangerous. Then he unleashed his blades and charged at the boss and managed to slightly cut the Boss's mech before the boss dodged completely. The Eviscerator performed some side flips to release missiles at the boss. But like the Eviscerator, he, too, could now activate a forcefield around himself. The missiles tracked the boss's robot and exploded once they hit his shield but the boss took no damage. Though, there's a limit to using the forcefield, it cannot be used all the time because it can exhaust the user. The Eviscerator knew all of this and did some side flips to once again release missiles. Right after that, he flew up in the air and fired a ray of sonic energy at the mech. The boss moved away but the missiles flanked his escape routes, forcing him to take the energy blast. His robot took severe damage and received a few dents.

The boss got very angry, he charged at the Eviscerator and tried to get a hold of him. However, the Eviscerator just stood still and responded by holding the hands of the mech. It was a battle of brute strength. The boss let go of one hand and his arm turned into a sword. He tried to stab him with it, but the Tremor simply responded by grabbing a hold of the sword with his left hand

Eviscerator: Too slow.

Since the robot was so close, the Tremor then simply released his blade from his left forearm and it pierced through the right side of the mech's chest. He then activated his right one, cut through the left chest and from his hands, he formed an energy blast and fired it at the boss. Just before the impact the Eviscerator put a forcefield around himself so he wouldn't get affected by the blast radius. The boss's robot flew far away in pieces, but it was not over yet.

Boss: Damn ships! Can't you see I'm in trouble here!? ANNIHILATE HIM!

He gave an order to the spectating ships to attack the Tremor. They all circled around him and started firing plasma shots and rockets, but the Eviscerator had no trouble dodging. He flew up in the middle of them all and formed a ball of sonic energy on his hands, then spun around in a circular motion while releasing a laser beam that devastated every ship around him. As the debris of the ships floated in the air, he simply looked down on the hopeless boss and flew down to put an end to him. He disassembled the remains of the robot, and picked up the boss who was inside. He stood 8 foot tall but appeared tiny before the 12 foot tall Tremor. The Eviscerator pierced his heart with two large razor sharp claws on his hand and kicked him up in the air and ended it with an energy blast that melted the boss away from existence.

1 week later

After the chaos and intense battles for survival. It was great for the tremors to experience peace again. However, it wasn't the happiest outcome as a lot of Tremors died and they still had to fix a lot of the damaged villages, if not moving away altogether. Not to mention all the casualties the hunter's firepower had done to the ecosystems and the destruction of the landscapes. That was the main concern for every Tremor except for Eviscerator. For him, there was something else that would be far more problematic…

The events of the boss and his army of hunters against the Eviscerator and the Tremors didn't go unheard of. The incidents sparked a lot of controversy and curiosity. Darla Gratch had talked about this on the news and it had reached Dreadzone. Gleeman Vox had taken great interest in it, particularly on the main name surrounding these events, the Eviscerator. He managed to wipe out an entire army of hunters and their boss. He would fit perfectly as a gladiator in Dreadzone, the Gleeman thought. So Gleeman set up a plan to capture him.

The Eviscerator had helped the other Tremors restore their homes, but afterwards he was taking a little break and was back in his old place, near the tree where he usually meditated. That's when it happened, large Dreadzone warriors teleported around him. Executioners, Lazer Backs, drop ships that released hundreds of other troopers down.

Executioner 1: Are you the Tremor known as the Eviscerator?

The Eviscerator for the first time in very long felt fear, because these guys were levels above the hunters he's fought before. He could sense intense energy coming from them and their weapons, and there were lots of them. He was at a huge disadvantage and he knew it.

Eviscerator: I suppose you guys aren't here to help fix the destroyed landscapes, huh?

There was absolutely nowhere to run, but as a true warrior, he would never surrender without a fight.

He drew out his blades and charged at the Executioner, but just before he sliced him open, he got hit by a Laser Back's bullet fire. Lots of Executioners then fired lasers at him and he narrowly dodged it. It was followed up by a barrage of rockets from all the drop ships, he flew away from them and fired an energy blast and he managed to destroy a few Laser Backs and Executioners. However, he was exposed to an attack now. An Executioner hit the Eviscerator's head with a freeze modded Scorpion Flail. That was a blow that he would remember for the rest of his life. The impact was so hard that he became mute and would never be able to speak for the rest of his life again. Since it was a freeze modded Flail as well, his movements slowed down drastically. Allowing the Dreadzone warriors to restrain him completely, until he was helpless. Then a Dreadzone flight ship came down to carry the Eviscerator to the battledome, where he would later join the Dreadzone Exterminators and become a gladiator. The rest is history.
