Chapter 2
In the human world, Loona and Kaitlin were the only demons who came in with human disguises. The latter was familiar with the living world, anyway, and like the former, she was able to blend in with humans easily. Kaitlin still had blue eyes in her human form, but with white eyeballs.
"Ready to off these fuckers?" Blitzo asked.
"Ready!" Striker, Jake, Kaitlin, Loona, Moxxie, and Millie replied in unison.
"Alrighty! Let's do this shit!" Blitzo cocked his flint pistol and he and his team were off on a killing spree.
Blitzo shot a lady in the back and blew smoke from his gun.
Striker flung his blessed knife on a woman's head, making her collapse.
Kaitlin shot a man with a revolver and blew smoke from it once finished.
Moxxie and Millie shot dozens of people with their pistols, side by side.
Jake helped by shooting a teenage couple.
Striker's next weapon of choice was his blessed rifle and used it to shoot a group of teenagers.
Loona threw her kusarigama at a few young adults.
Suddenly, before Striker could shoot at another target coming his direction, he felt something hit him on the shoulder. It felt very sharp and pointy as if someone put a knife on him...only it felt smaller than any knife.
Narrowing his eyes across his shoulder, Striker took a small glimpse at what he saw. The only words he could shout were, "What the-"
For on his shoulder...was a tranquilizer dart!
Striker turned to the others who turned around when they heard his cry.
"Run!" he shouted.
Blitzo and the gang stopped what they were doing and did as they were told.
As they ran, another dart hit Striker. "Keep…running-" Despite him getting numb and his speech slurring, he continued running.
Then another dart!
"Not again!"
Another dart!
This time, Striker collapsed.
"Loony! The portal!" Blitzo called.
Loona opened the grimoire. "Got it," she said and a portal formed.
The two dart shooters laughed victoriously, having their target brought down.
"Alright, let's take this devil in," a female shooter said.
"Yeah, we'll test him out," a male shooter agreed.
Slowly, they slinked over to where their target stood. Grins spread across their faces with anticipation. Soon...it would be theirs for the taking. But when they reached the spot where it was supposed to lay...the shooter and his partner were shocked to find out that...he was gone!
"What?!" the female shooter shouted incredulously.
The male shooter shouted in anger, "NOOOOO! We just missed him!"
He threw his gun to the ground and hopped angrily, throwing a tantrum.
…
Blitzo called the hospital about his sleeping companion, hoping the doctors could pull out the darts as soon as possible. Luckily, the receptionist put them on the schedule and told them to be at the hospital by an hour. Blitzo agreed and hung up. After that, they drove to the hospital. Kaitlin carried her husband in her arms as she and her team made their way to the waiting room and greeted the receptionist.
"Hey," Blitzo called, getting the female succubus receptionist's attention.
The receptionist turned head to see Blitzo. "Hello."
"We've come to bring my employee here to remove the darts."
"Okay." The succubus looked at her notes. "Is he a friend or family?"
"Friend."
"Family," Jake and Kaitlin said in unison.
The succubus smiled warmly at the group, including a mother, father, and son. "Aww, you have such a wholesome family."
Suddenly, a figure opened the door and peered through the door, calling, "Striker!" It was a hellhound doctor.
"Oh, that's us!" Moxxie sighed and he and the group followed the doctor to a room.
Once in the room, the hellhound ordered, "Bring me the patient. I want to take a look at him."
Kaitlin handed her husband to the doctor and he set the sleeping patient on the hospital bed.
Jake climbed up the hospital bed to join his father and looked at him with concern. Then the boy nuzzled against his father.
"It's okay, Dad. We're here," Jake assured him, as he patted his father's shoulder.
Luckily, for Jake, he heard Striker slowly breathing deep breaths, coupled in with a little snoring, fighting off the heavy effects from the darts. Jake could only smile in relief.
"If I didn't know any better he'd have been doing it the whole time," Blitzo said.
"Blitz!" Moxxie, Millie, Loona, Kaitlin, and Jake scolded.
Blitzo shrugged. "Well, I heard it and felt his body vibrating."
"Just let the doctor do his job, okay, Blitz?" Kaitlin asked gently, putting her hand on his shoulder.
Blitzo sighed. "Okay, Kaitlin."
First, the hellhound took out a syringe from a drawer and pulled Striker's jacket upwards and pulled up the sleeve, revealing the pale imp's bare shoulder. Next, he injected the needle onto the cowboy imp, who couldn't feel anything because he was still asleep. Then, the hellhound removed the syringe filled with black blood and threw it away. Finally, he slowly pulled out the darts, one at a time. With the darts removed, he put peroxide on a cotton ball to dab on the spots.
As this was happening, Striker slowly opened his eyes and woke up to find himself in the hospital with his team and his wife and turned around to see his son smiling at him, grateful that his father had awakened.
"Hi, Daddy," Jake said sweetly.
"Oh, hi, pup," Striker replied with a yawn, grinning back at him.
"I recommend you bring this patient home, so he can rest," the doctor advised. "Those human darts had done a number on him."
Blitzo went over to his sleepy employee's bed and stroked his hair. "You must've had a long day today, Strikes, but don't worry, we got a lot done today and thanks to you," Blitzo assured him.
Striker nodded and yawned, only this time, he felt his eyelids grow heavy.
"It's alright, Strike, just go back to sleep." Blitzo rubbed his back soothingly.
And at long last, thanks to Blitzo's soothing voice, Striker had yet again fallen asleep.
This time, Blitzo carried Striker out of the hospital.
"Have a good night," the doctor said.
"Thanks for the help, Doc, and you, too!" Blitzo called as he and the gang left the hospital.
