There were so many trails, each team would be going on a different one. So the girls all packed a backpack with necessities and met at the beginning of their hike.
"I know we didn't even start yet but can we take a break?" Fat Amy asked, making the others laugh.
"Fat Amy, and anyone else who might be interested, we'll take as many breaks as you guys want but make sure to stay together, alright? No one can be left behind," Aubrey said. "You each have a map in case you get lost."
"No trolls left behind!" Fat Amy threw her fist up, once again, making the group laugh.
"What about Beca?" Jessica asked.
"What about Beca?" Beca repeated the question.
"What if she falls behind?" Jessica asked.
"She won't because we'll stay together," Aubrey said and turned around, signalling the end of the conversation.
As they started the hike, they went uphill, which made many girls complain and they took many breaks. Fat Amy and Beca were the last ones, the brunette was the last of the line.
"How much longer?" Fat Amy asked.
"Amy, we just started," Beca said with a chuckle. "Literally."
"Is there a way this is a 2 minute hike?" Fat Amy asked rhetorically.
As soon as the uphill journey was over and they were out of the woods, they stopped to drink water and rest.
Fat Amy sat closer to Jessica and Ashley, leaving Beca by herself to drink her water. Not that she minded, she was mostly alone throughout the day anyway.
Chloe saw that and decided to hang back and walk closer to the girl, trying to get to know what happened this morning for her to be sour. And apologize for last night.
"Hey," she said simply.
"Hey," Beca said, watching the other girls talk, some ate some fruits they packed.
"Everything okay?" Chloe asked.
"Peachy,"
"What happened this morning, why were you so sour?" Chloe asked.
Beca shrugged.
"Tired of being treated like trash," she said simply. "Can you blame me after what Aubrey said to me?"
"I get that. But to be fair, you treat us the same way sometimes, except for the dead part," Chloe said. "If you want respect you have to give respect. It's a two way street."
"Aw come on, I didn't come here to hear a lecture," Beca groaned.
"It's important, though," Chloe said. "Remember our hike? It was nice, you were nice to talk to."
Beca said nothing, she just played with a twig by her boots.
"Like I said, if you open yourself up and give the girls a chance, you'll really enjoy it," Chloe said.
"It's just hard being in a group where everyone hates you," Beca finally looked up at Chloe and the redhead saw pain in her eyes. Their eye contact lasted only for a few seconds before Beca looked back down. "When you're hurt and scared for so long, fear and pain turn to hate. And that hate starts to change the world."
Chloe was taken aback.
"Where's that from?" Chloe said.
"Silent Hill," Beca said.
"I never thought of it like that," Chloe said.
"Yep," Beca said simply. "Aubrey hated me from the start and started treating me like garbage and everyone followed her lead. Now everyone hates me."
"Not everyone hates you," Chloe said, making her look up at her. "I don't."
Beca scoffed.
"Yeah right," she said. "You called me a heartless bitch."
Chloe's brain stopped and she had to think, but she couldn't recall calling her that.
"When I wouldn't clean the stupid windows," Beca said when she saw Chloe still silent.
"Well, you were being really immature," Chloe said.
"I'm not perfect, okay? I never said I was, sometimes I have my childish moments," Beca said. "I'm learning. It's hard when you've been friendless and surrounded by hate for nearly a year and a half."
Chloe stopped to think and the brunette was right; she was treated like that since the moment she became a Bella.
"Well, you're no longer friendless," Chloe said. "I wanna be your friend, but I want you to really make an effort with the girls."
"They gotta make an effort, too. If you want respect, you gotta give respect, it's a two way street," Beca said, resting her chin on her knee. Chloe saw the hint of a smile she was probably holding back.
"I think I heard that somewhere," Chloe joked.
"Yeah, a wise person said to me," Beca said, clearly biting on the insides of her cheek to try and contain her smile, which was getting hard.
"Wise indeed," Chloe said with a smile and Beca finally broke into a smile but she buried her face between her knees. "May I ask you something?"
Beca turned to her and nodded.
"I.. I don't know how to phrase this but.. You seemed way too cool to kiss a girl yesterday," Chloe said.
"Yeah?" Beca didn't see her question. "That's because I am into girls."
"Oh," Chloe said, simply. "I didn't know that."
"Yeah, there's a lot you don't know about me," Beca said.
"Wait, is that why you didn't want to share your crazy sex story?" Chloe asked.
"Yeah," Beca shrugged.
"But Cynthia Rose shared hers and she's gay, too," Chloe said.
"Is Cynthia Rose hated by everyone?" Beca asked. "Were there chances of her being called a slut?"
Chloe remained quiet.
"Besides, I'm not really into sharing my private life," Beca said with a shrug. "It's called private for a reason."
"Alright everyone, rest time is up, let's get moving!" Aubrey said, making all the girls stand up with a groan. "Chloe please stop fraternizing with the enemy!"
"I'm not the enemy, we're all on the same team, you moron!" Beca said with a shake of her head, trying not to put too much hate into her comment and Fat Amy and Chloe actually chuckled at her comment. Beca looked back at Chloe with a smile before they followed the girls.

As they neared the end of the trail, Aubrey was in the lead and she was helping the girls cross a river. There were rocks and a potential for them falling on their butts in the water. Sure, they wouldn't mind and the river wasn't deep but the rocks were rather pointy and slippery.
Everyone managed to cross and Aubrey started leading them forward but she slipped on a twig and tripped, falling on her arm. She didn't get hurt but she got up to see dirt and a little bit of blood.
"Are you aca-kidding me?" Aubrey said with a groan.
The girls stopped to check on her and Beca stepped forward, bringing her backpack down and opening it up.
"What are you doing?" Aubrey asked.
"Helping you," Beca said, taking out some peroxide and gauze.
"How do I know this isn't sulfuric acid or something?" Aubrey asked.
"Where the fuck would I get sulfuric acid?" Beca asked.
"I don't know!"
"Aubrey, she wants to help, just trust her!" Chloe said.
Aubrey looked away and shut her eyes as Beca wet the gauze with peroxide.
"This is going to sting," she said before wiping away the wound, making Aubrey wince. She then put a small bandage on it before standing back up. "There, did your arm come off?"
"No," Aubrey said reluctantly before standing back up. "Thanks, I guess, Beca."
Beca nodded and Aubrey continued.
As they made their way back to the camp, Aubrey turned to the girls.
"Alright girls, we have free time until dinner, make sure to be back by then," she said, going to her cabin with Stacie.
Chloe was going to follow her friends but she looked back at Beca, who was starting to make her way back. She had her back to Chloe but the redhead couldn't help but think she looked rather lonely, so she walked over and stopped her.
"Wanna go for a swim?" she asked.
Beca didn't say anything for a while, but then she nodded.
"Alright," she said. "I'll meet you here in just a sec."
Chloe nodded and went back to her cabin to grab her towel, she was already wearing a swimsuit underneath.
"Chlo, Stacie and I are going to play tennis, wanna come?" Aubrey asked.
"No, thanks, I'm going swimming with Beca," she said, putting her backpack down and grabbing a towel from the shelf above her bed.
The girls reacted as if she had just told them she was going to commit murder.
"You don't have to do that," Aubrey said.
"She might kill you," Stacie said.
"And bury your body in the woods," Flo said.
"Guys, come on! Would you please give her a chance? She helped you today, Aubs," Chloe pointed out. "Make an effort, you accepted her into the Bellas."
The girls were quiet so Chloe swun her towel over her shoulder and walked outside, seeing Beca looking around the woods, already with a towel around her neck.
The two walked over to the lake and saw this dock that had swimming boards. There was a line around it where it was safe to swim. Beca placed her towel on a bench as did Chloe and they eyed each other.
"Wanna go first?" Beca asked.
"I'll skip the diving board for now," Chloe said. Beca nodded and made her way over to the diving board while Chloe just jumped in.
Beca jumped in, doing a simple jump and Chloe was impressed, she seemed to know what she was doing.
"You know how to dive?" she asked.
"Yeah, I was on the diving team in high school," Beca said. "My dad insisted I joined and I actually ended up loving it."
"Nice," Chloe said. "Can you teach me?"
"Sure," Beca said, they both swam back to the dock, Beca put her left hand on the first step of the ladder before turning back to Chloe. "It's not that hard, there's a few easy dives you can do."
Chloe smiled and nodded before her attention turned to Beca's hand. Her knuckles were red and bruised, a little swollen too if she dared say.
"What happened to your hand?" Chloe asked.
Beca looked at it as if she forgot about it.
"Oh, this was a couple days ago," she said. "I punched a wall out of anger."
"That wasn't very smart, it looks bad," Chloe said.
"Not really, I can move and flex my fingers," Beca showed. "I've been icing it, it's no biggie."
"If you say so," Chloe said.
While Beca got out, she told Chloe to watch her from the water as she showed how her body was supposed to be and how she was supposed to jump.
Chloe, however, got lost as she watched the girl's abs, which she'd never noticed before. She watched as she flexed them, showing the moves. The way the water drops went from her chest, all the way down to her navel and down her waist had Chloe wondering when did Beca get so fit? and when the girl turned on her side to show her the position of her body, Chloe felt herself biting the corner of her lower lip as she admired her butt. Dang, has her butt always been this firm? Okay, Chloe stop being a creep.
Beca stood up straight and looked at her.
"Got it?" she asked.
Chloe shook her thoughts off and nodded with a smile, which got Beca to smile too.
"Come on, show me the moves I just showed, I wanna see if you got it," she said.
Chloe was embarrassed for more than one reason. She had definitely been caught staring and she didn't really know what moves she was supposed to do. She got out of the water and mirrored the brunette, but her cheeks blushed when she heard her laugh. She was about to turn her head to ask why Beca was laughing, until she felt a sharp slap to her buttcheek, which made her jump and whimper. She was lucky she had already gotten in the water and her swimsuit was already wet.
"Don't push the tush!" Beca said. "Sorry about the slap, my coach used to do the same thing to us. She was a woman before you ask any questions"
Beca walked around her and Chloe was nervous when she felt her put her hands on her belly, right where her abdomen was.
"Tighten your core," Beca said. "Really tighten it, you gotta hold your body together."
Chloe nodded, trying to ignore the way her ears were burning.
"Sorry about your butt, by the way, it looks red," Beca said. "I didn't even slap you that hard, it might've been the water."
"Am I ready to jump now?" Chloe asked.
"Just watch me first," Beca said. She dove first and Chloe nodded before going to the diving board. She closed her eyes as she prepared before opening them and diving too.
When she emerged, she saw Beca clapping with a large smile. She'd never seen her smile that big, she felt her cheeks red and smiled back.
"That was great!" Beca said. "You didn't push the tush!"
"How could I after that slap?" Chloe said.
"I bet you'll never forget that, too," Beca said, both girls laughed after that.
As their laughter died down, Chloe found herself staring at the brunette, who was offering her a smile.
"Thanks for that, Beca," Chloe said.
"For what?"
"For this, you're pretty cool," she said. "And I'm sorry about all the comments I made before."
Beca shook her head and her right hand.
"Water under the bridge," she said, which made Chloe smile.
oO0Oo
As Chloe made her way back to her cabin, she felt her buttcheek burn and she knew she had a hand shaped red mark on her cheek. She waved bye to Beca before coming into her cabin, seeing the other girls playing cards,
"Hey, how was swimming with the devil?" Stacie asked.
"Please stop calling her that," Chloe said, opening her suitcase to get a change of clothes. "I'm going to shower, I'll met you guys at the cafeteria."
"Chloe, did.. Did she hit your ass?!" Aubrey asked.
Chloe's cheeks turned red as she examined her buttcheek.
"Were you guys engaged in some weird water sex?" Stacie asked.
"No! She was just teaching me how to dive and.. Well, there's a whole story," Chloe said.
"Was she nice to you?" Aubrey asked.
"Yes, very," Chloe said. "She was very sweet. You know she has great abs?"
The other three eyed each other before looking back at Chloe, who had gotten her clothes and a clean towel.
"What?" she asked.
"Somebody has a crush on the devil girl!" Stacie teased.
"Stop calling her that and no, I don't," Chloe said.
"Yeah, sure," Stacie said. "Go shower."
Chloe shook her head and turned around, swinging the towel over her shoulders and doing just that.
I'm so excited about this story, wished it would move faster lol reviews are welcome!
