"You kissed Beca?!" Aubrey asked and Chloe was very confused at hearing that.
"I thought you liked her," Chloe said.
"I think it was absolutely aca-awesome that she defended her Bella sisters but she still has a long way to go to gain my trust," Aubrey said.
"Come on, Bree," Stacie said.
"She took a beating for us," Flo said.
"Yeah! And she's changed!" Chloe said. "Why do you hate her so much?"
"I'm sorry, did you forget how our first year with her was?" Aubrey asked. "Beca was always so irritable and sometimes aggressive and angry towards us."
"Unfortunately that's true, Chlo," Stacie said.
"But she's trying to change," Chloe said. "You ever thought those weren't her fault?"
"Chloe, when we came in second at Regionals, she yelled at me. After you all left I tried to calm her down and she pushed me and almost started hitting me! She would've beaten the crap out of me if the Trebles hadn't been walking by," Aubrey said. "I told you all that after the fact, don't you remember?"
Chloe was silent, she'd completely forgotten the whole incident.
"Still, maybe she was or is dealing with something we don't know," Chloe said. "Have you seen the scars across her back?"
"What about the times she missed rehearsal because she 'had a headache'?" Aubrey said. "She was just lazy and wouldn't admit it!"
"Aubrey, we're all dealing with things we don't tell everyone else," Chloe said. "I like her, can you please give her a chance?"
"I am, Chlo," Aubrey said. "I just want you to remember she might go back to her ways and if she does, I don't want you to be heartbroken."
"Thanks for your concern, Bree," Chloe sighed. "But I think I'll be okay."
Chloe sat down on her bed and began to get ready for bed. The other girls saw the conversation was over and started doing the same.

For the next few days, Beca didn't participate in all activities but she went along and just sat down and watched if she could. Of course, water activities were a no no so she stood back in the shadow and watched.
Since all the groups had to rehearse for the final performance, they each had assigned moments at the camp's cafeteria, usually in the afternoons between meals. The Bellas were rehearsing on a sunny afternoon, when the weather was especially hot.
Even Beca joined in but she couldn't really bend down or move her head too much, she still had stitches after all.
"Alright everyone, let's take it from the top, one last time," Aubrey said.
"May I sit down for this one?" Beca asked, raising her hand.
"Yes, you may," Aubrey said. "By the way, Beca."
Beca looked back at the blonde after she sat down.
"Will you be okay for the final performance?" Aubrey asked.
"Yeah, I think so," Beca said, sipping from her bottle.
Aubrey nodded and the Bellas got into positions.
"1, 2, 3, 4," Aubrey said and they began their number.
Beca took the opportunity and looked at Chloe as the redhead danced. She smiled as she watched the girl sing and dance, hitting every note and pose right, always with a smile on her face. She had her left side to Beca, so she couldn't see her staring.
After the number was done, the Bellas were free to do what they wanted until dinner and, as much as Chloe wanted to spend time with her friends, she was dying to spend some time with Beca, too. Especially now that she couldn't do some activities with everyone else.
Chloe grabbed her stuff and made her way over to Beca, catching the way Aubrey gave her a 'be careful' look, which Chloe brushed off. She smiled as she saw the brunette standing up with her water bottle in hand.
"Wanna go for a walk?" Chloe asked. "I'd invite you to go swimming but I know you can't right now."
"It's okay, the doctor will remove my stitches tomorrow and examine my wound, if I'm all good we can go swimming then," Beca said.
"Good," Chloe said.
As the girls walked out of the cafeteria, they were joined by Stacie and Fat Amy, asking if they could join the two for their walk.
"So how you doing, Beca?" Stacie asked.
"Much better," Beca said. "My hand doesn't hurt as much anymore."
"That's good," Stacie said.
The girls walked around the woods, going on one of the shorter trails.
"Really? Another hike?" Fat Amy asked.
"This is a short one, Amy," Chloe chuckled.
"Beca, I'm sorry about the comments and stuff I said before," Stacie said. "I wanna get to know you better."
"Thanks, Stacie," Beca said.
"So, what really happened to your back?" Fat Amy asked.
"I fell on a fire when I was young," Beca said.
"Whoa," Fat Amy said.
"Back when we were starting, you often missed practice, sometimes you still do, because you said you had a headache, was that true?" Chloe asked.
"Is that a Chloe question or an Aubrey question?" Beca asked with a small smirk.
"Well, if it's true, how do you have headaches so often?" Chloe asked.
"It's a chronic thing," Beca shrugged. "I treat them."
A comfortable silence fell upon them as they continued their walk before heading back to the main camp area.
"Guys, anyone heard what happened to that guy who was going to be executed this week?" Stacie asked.
"What guy?" Chloe asked.
"You know? David, I think? From the Brianna Johnson case?" Stacie said. "I didn't wanna miss it."
"Ugh, again with this?" Beca groaned.
"I don't know, Stace," Chloe said, ignoring Beca.
"Did you look it up on the internet?" Fat Amy asked.
"I tried, but my signal is horrible up here," Stacie said.
"Why do you wanna know?" Beca asked.
"I'm just curious, my family thinks it won't happen," Stacie said.
"Why?" Chloe asked.
"The whole family's from California, David received the sentence before death penalty was abolished, there's a chance they'll cancel his sentence and just give him lifetime instead," Stacie said.
"Really?" Fat Amy frowned.
"I sincerely hope that doesn't happen," Chloe said.
"I don't know what to think," Stacie said with a shrug.
"Does everyone even know what happened to the kid?" Fat Amy said. "That was 13 years ago, she was 8, she would be what, our age now?"
"Probably," Chloe nodded.
"Nobody even mentioned what happened, not that I remember," Stacie said.
"Maybe she's dead," Beca said, making everyone turn to her with curious looks.
"She survived, though," Stacie said.
"I know, but if that was me, I'd rather die than live with it," Beca said with a shrug.
"Poor girl," Stacie said.
"Yeah, but who knows, maybe she's alive," Chloe said. "Come on, we have dinner soon."

After dinner, Chloe was with her friends in her cabin. She was relaxing a bit, resting from the day's activities and she was about to change into her pjs when there was a knock on the door. She didn't really bother moving, so Flo opened the door.
"Hey,"
Chloe looked up to see Beca standing on the doorway, looking a bit nervous.
"Beca," Chloe got up.
"Hey Chlo," she said with a small smile. "I was coming to ask if you'd like to go on a walk with me?"
"Oh! Okay," Chloe was a bit tired but she was excited about spending some time with the brunette, since this afternoon the other girls were with them.
Chloe walked out and Beca offered her a smile. She no longer had stitches on her forehead and her lip looked normal. Her eye was less swollen and a lighter shade of red.
"I was hoping we'd get a chance to talk," Beca said as they walked slowly. "Since this afternoon the girls were with us. Which was okay, by the way."
"I know what you mean," Chloe nodded.
Beca smiled and stopped walking, making Chloe turn to face her.
"You know, I wanted to thank you, Chloe," Beca said. "To be honest, I have my issues, which are the reason for many fights we had and the reason Aubrey started hating me in the first place."
Chloe tilted her head in confusion but allowed the girl to go on.
"I don't really feel like sharing them at the moment, but thank you for believing in me," Beca said with a smile. "I had been hoping you'd do that."
"Really? How come?" Chloe asked.
"Well, when I first saw you, I had a major crush on you and I was going to ask you out but before I knew it, you hated me too," Beca said. "Ever since then, I was hoping you'd change your mind."
Chloe smiled.
"You're welcome," Chloe said.
"I know we still have 5 days here but I wanna take you out when we go back," Beca said.
"Oh I'd love to go out with you!" Chloe smiled.
Beca smiled back and looked down at her feet, looking a bit nervous.
"I feel kinda stupid for asking this but.. Can I kiss you?" Beca's cheeks went red as she asked.
Chloe chuckled, making Beca look up at her. She placed a peck on the shorter girl's lips, leaning closer to her, allowing the brunette to wrap her arms around her neck, deepening the kiss by licking her lips, asking for entrance.
Chloe really enjoyed kissing Beca, the girl was a great kisser. Everything about her kiss screamed dominance and confidence and that made Chloe weak in the knees.
The redhead ended the kiss before her brain could think about things going further. They were still at the camp and sharing cabins with other girls. There was no way they could get privacy and Chloe did not want to do anything that involved less or no clothing in the woods.
Both girls caught their breaths as they rested their foreheads together.
"Sorry, I don't think we can go any further," Chloe said.
"I know," Beca said. "That's too bad, though."
"I know!" Chloe said, both chuckled.
"I better get going, we have another rehearsal tomorrow morning, right?" Beca said.
"Yeah," Chloe nodded.
"Alright," Beca smiled at her once again. "Goodnight, Chlo."
"Night, Becs," Chloe smiled.
Beca kissed Chloe's cheek one last time before going back to her cabin. Chloe watched her go with a smile before going back to her cabin.
"Wow, you're really smitten!" Stacie said with a smirk.
"You were watching that?" Chloe crossed her arms.
"Oh yeah!" Stacie said. "And I'm happy for you."
"Thanks, Stace," Chloe said, surprised and received a smile back from the taller brunette.
Chloe changed into her pjs and went to sleep with a smile on her face.
