I forgot to say this but I created a playlist with the Riff Off songs, I'll put the link in my profile and you guys should check it out, I'm really proud of that playlist!
Also, if you want, I'll create a playlist with all the Brazilian songs mentioned, they're awesome to listen to
Days seemed to drag now that Chloe and Beca were hitting off. Both wanted to go back to Barden so they could go on a date or even sleep on the same bed. For reasons.
As the performance neared, the Bellas rehearsed a bit more, so their free time was short and not as often. With Beca's wounds healing, she was back to rehearsing with the girls full time and participating in the activities.
Chloe noticed she was a lot more relaxed, not snappy anymore, she was a completely different person. As soon as everyone relaxed and started treating each other with respect, giving each other a chance, everyone was less tense and the girls were all getting along with Beca. As much as Aubrey seemed to be reluctant at first, she let go and gave in.
Performances would take place on the second to last day of the camp and there would be a party afterwards so pretty much everyone knew they were going to be completely hungover the next day.
"Ladies! Ladies!" Aubrey said, clapping her hands in order to get the girls' attention. "Remember, this is our last rehearsal before the big performance, so please let's give it our all, okay?"
The girls agreed as they began their last rehearsal. Honestly, everyone was great, the number was running great, there was no complex choreography and the song wasn't very fast, so they were okay with their number.
After they had run their number a decent amount, Aubrey let the girls go. They had no big plans, they were supposed to focus on their performance, so some girls decided to swim while others decided to just stay in and rest.
Chloe was happy and disappointed at the same time when Beca told her she was going swimming with Flo, Emily and Fat Amy and, of course, invited her to come with, but Chloe decided to take time to spend with her best friends, Aubrey and Stacie. She thought it was best to not spend all her free time with Beca for two reasons; one, resist the urge to jump her bones, two, she didn't want to be clingy, they already lived together, she didn't want to become one of those couples that spent their entire times together.
Whoa, couples?! Chloe shook her head from the thought. She didn't know what her and Beca were but they definitely weren't a couple yet.
"Big whoop, that David guy was actually executed. Lethal injection," Stacie said. "Turns out torture is one of those crimes that can't be forgiven or something."
"I thought you wanted him to get killed?" Aubrey said with a confused frown.
"I did, but my parents were very disappointed," Stacie shrugged.
"Wow," Chloe said, taken aback.
"Yeah, that's why I'm like this," Stacie said. "I mean come on! Him and his wife tortured a kid!"
"You know that Gabriel Hernandez case? It's very similar to Brianna's and it has a documentary on Netflix, why doesn't Brianna's have one?" Chloe asked.
"From what I can tell, Gabriel's was different, there is the whole social worker's trial and such. Brianna's was plain and simple; they tortured and kept her locked up," Aubrey said.
"Oh so you work for Netflix now? You know what happens?" Stacie asked.
"Yeah, we're doing a film on your life next," Aubrey deadpanned and the brunette rolled her eyes.
Chloe laughed at the two girls' interaction before they turned to her.
"Anyway, how are things with Beca?" Aubrey asked.
"Oh they're great. Beca seems less angry and much happier, the girls want to hang out with her," Chloe said. "For us, we want to take things further."
"Chlo, I don't wanna hear about your sexy fantasies!" Aubrey said with a grossed out look on her face.
"I don't mean.. Just that!" Chloe blushed. "I mean dates, we're stuck here for now but we want to go out on dates."
"Awwww!" Stacie said. "Who would've thought Heartless Beca would be taking you on a date?"
"Please stop calling her that," Chloe said.
"I don't mean to offend, I mean, if someone told me two weeks ago this situation would be taking place, I would've laughed," Stacie explained.
"I get it," Chloe said, thinking about it.
"Well, I'm going to shower, I need to be well rested for our performance and party tomorrow," Stacie said, getting up from her bed.
"Alright," Chloe said with a smile.
Stacie waved, grabbing a change of clothes and a clean towel, going to the showers. She heard one of the showers on and knew someone was in there too. She put her clothes down on the bench in the locker room area and went to the showers. She then started walking to the showers and, as she passed by one, she saw Beca with her back turned, wearing her swimsuit, facing the shower, probably waiting for it to get hot.
"Hey Beca," Stacie said. Beca turned to wave with a smile. Stacie's eyes dropped from the brunette's scars on her back to the back of her left leg, which had a big and very deep scar on the side of her foot, on the outside bone going around and up her ankle, stopping a couple inches. It made her foot look a bit tilted inward and the scar looked bad, almost like a burn mixed with a puncture wound.
"What happened to your foot?" Stacie found herself asking. She expected the girl to shrug it off or tell her a story, now that she was opening up. Beca, however, got a really angry look on her face.
"None of your goddamn business!" she yelled, closing the curtain.
Stacie was shocked, but went to take her shower, trying to absorb what had just happened. If Beca was being nice to them, why would she do something like that? Stacie learned that day to not ask Beca anymore about any marks, tattoos or scars on her body.

The next day, the Bellas were so focused on the performance, costumes and makeup that Stacie didn't have the chance to talk to Chloe about what had happened the night before. Beca didn't seem phased, she even smiled and talked to Stacie like nothing had happened, which weirded the brunette out but she talked to her back, not knowing what that was all about.
The Bellas' costume looked like boy scouts uniform, except their tie was their Bella scarf and they had a little hat. Of course, the shorts were tighter and shorter and they were wearing the shoes they wore on their first ICCA's together.
The camp had a rather big stage built outside for the groups, there was light, speakers, mics, the whole nine, it was all very glamorous.
"Light My Choir is first, we're next and the last are the Buzztones," Aubrey said.
"I'm sad this is ending, it's been a fun week," Flo said.
"We've been here 10 days," Fat Amy said.
"It was fun still," Flo rolled her eyes.
"Agreed," Cynthia Rose said.
"I wanna makeout one last time with Zac Efron wannabe," Stacie said with a pout.
"Do you even know his name? Or do you just call him Zac Efron wannabe?" Beca asked.
"He told me but I just call him Zac," Stacie shrugged, making the Bellas laugh.
"Guys, guys, we're on!" Aubrey called and the Bellas hopped up onstage.
As the girls got into their positions, Aubrey counted and blew the pitch pipe, starting their performance.
As the girls began singing the harmony, Aubrey began singing.
Midnight
You come and pick me up, no headlights
Long drive
Could end up in burning flames or paradise
As they danced slowly and changed their positions, Chloe began singing next.
You're the fear, I don't care,
'Cause I've never been so high
Follow me through the dark
Let me take you past our satellites
You can see the world you've brought to life, to life
As Chloe smiled and exchanged looks with her best friend, Aubrey sang her part.
You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye
And I got red lip classic thing that you like
And when we go crashing down, we come back everytime
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style
As the Bellas sang backup, the two friends continued singing, Chloe taking the lead this time.
Love me like you do, lo-lo-love me like you do
Love me like you do, lo-lo-love me like you do
Touch me like you do, to-to-touch me like you do
What are you waiting for?
Fading in, fading out
On the edge of paradise
Every inch of your skin, is a Holy Grail I've gotta find
Only you can set my heart on fire, on fire
Chloe turned to Aubrey as she sang again.
I say, "I heard, oh
That you've been out and about with some other girl"
Some other girl
He says, "What you heard is true, but I
Can't stop thinking 'bout you and I"
I said, "I've been there too a few times" (what are you waiting for)
Love me like you do, lo-lo-love me like you do
Love me like you do, lo-lo-love me like you do
Touch me like you do, to-to-touch me like you do
What are you waiting for?
The Bellas sang together, dancing around each other and really enjoying singing together. It was the first time in months, make that years, that Chloe actually had a great time singing, knowing everyone was having a great time, even Beca looked like she was having fun.
As their number finished, they were widely applauded by the other groups. They knew it wasn't a competition, this whole camp thing was purely for fun but they were almost sure they had the best number.
"I wish we were as good as you Bellas are," a guy from Light My Choir spoke as the girls came off the stage.
"Come on, you guys were great," Ashley spoke.
"Come on, you're the Barden Bellas! You're obviously better!" he said again. "And it's okay, we're working to get there."
"And you will," Chloe said with a smile to him.
"Thanks," the guy smiled.
Since their performance was over, the girls were clear to drink and that's what they did. Stacie took the change and approached Chloe before she could go over to Beca.
"Chlo, I need to tell you something," she said, moving away from the bigger crowd so they could get at least some privacy.
"What's wrong?" Chloe frowned.
"I know Beca's improving but her attitude last night was weird. I was on my way to shower and ran into her and saw she has a nasty scar on her ankle. I mean nasty, her foot looks like it's tilted, it's a little creepy," Stacie said.
"And?" Chloe asked.
"I asked her about it and she snapped at me, she was angry, she said 'none of your damn business' or something to that effect. I wasn't expecting that but now she's acting like it never happened!" Stacie said.
Chloe was quiet for a while as she thought about it.
"That's weird," Chloe said.
"I was just telling you so you can be careful okay? Please don't go telling on me, I didn't come here so you'd talk to her for me," Stacie said.
"It's okay, Stace, I get it," Chloe chuckled. "Thanks for letting me know."
Stacie nodded and smiled.
"Now I need to go find Zac," she said, disappearing into the singing crowd.
Chloe had an uneasy feeling as she walked over to Beca's direction. She greeted the girl and the small brunette pecked her lips, going on about how great of a performance that was and how much fun it was.
As much as Chloe hated to admit it, she kept thinking about what Stacie had told her and it bugged her even the next day as she sat next to Beca on the bus and took her hand. She was staring off into space as she thought about Stacie's words, even as she tried to play the scenario in her head.
"Why have you been staring at my feet for the last half hour?" Beca asked with a chule.
"Sorry?" Chloe shook her head and Beca laughed.
"Dude, you've been staring at my feet for so long, what's up?" Beca asked.
"Oh, sorry, just thinking," Chloe said, shaking her head. "Do you have any plans today?"
"Oh yeah I do," Beca looked apologetic. "Remember I asked if I could leave early?"
"Yeah,"
"Yesterday was my dad's birthday, the whole family was having a celebration, so tonight I'm going to dinner at their house." Beca said.
"Oh," Chloe said.
"Yeah, my mom's picking me up at 5," Beca said.
"That's okay, we can spend some time together," Chloe said. "Wait, can I meet your mom?"
Beca laughed.
"Sure, weirdo," Beca said. "I think she'll like you."
Chloe squealed and clapped, receiving a kiss on the cheek. She was excited to meet Beca's mom and hear about her story. She had never met anyone in Beca's family.
oO0Oo
After lunch, the Bellas decided it was time for a nap, so the house was rather quiet. Beca and Chloe were in the living room, talking and cuddling. Chloe finally saw the scar Stacie had talked about and it was, in fact, nasty. She decided not to ask anything and pretend like she hadn't seen it.
"Wait here, I gotta go get changed, my mom texted she's like 10 minutes away," Beca said, getting up.
"Alright," Chloe said, grabbing her phone to look through her social media. She saw a few Bellas posted pictures and clips of their performance. Beca posted a picture of her and Chloe together which they had taken shortly after their performance. Chloe smiled, quickly liking the picture before the doorbell brought her out of her daydream. She got up and opened to see a brunette, older looking woman with green eyes. Beca didn't really look a lot like her, her features, her smile, the woman was even taller.
"Hi, I'm Chloe," Chloe introduced herself and shook hands with the woman.
"I'm Tania, Beca's mom," the woman said.
"Nice to meet you, come on in, Beca's getting changed," Chloe said, stepping aside and allowing the woman in.
"Thank you," Tania said. "It's nice to meet you, too."
"Beca tells me you're Brazilian," Chloe said. "Have you always lived in Georgia?"
"Oh, no, actually, my husband's from here but we lived in California for a few years, that's where Beca was born, then we lived in Texas until she graduated middle school and then we came to Atlanta," Tania had a slight accent, almost unnoticeable, but you would never guess she was Brazilian. You'd guess English wasn't her first language but only if you listened closely.
"Beca's from California?" Chloe frowned. Beca told her she was born and raised in Atlanta.
"Yeah," Tania said just as Beca came rushing downstairs.
"Mom! You're early!" Beca said.
"And you're late," Tania shot back. "Come on, teu pai tá esperando."
"Yeah," Beca said before turning to Chloe. "Bye, see you later."
"Bye Chloe, it was nice meeting you," Tania waved before leaving with Beca.
Chloe watched the two leave from the window and wondered. Why would Beca lie or even forget she wasn't from Atlanta? She could've said she was from Texas if she moved out of California too young but saying she was from Atlanta didn't make much sense. Something was wrong.
Alright. I've always added other origins to the characters, I was thinking about doing this here but I was like "hey, how about Brazilian?" that way I don't have to ask for someone to translate things to other languages lol and hopefully that way some of you will learn at least a little bit about Brazilian culture
BTW: Tania's last phrase meant "come on, your father's waiting"
The song used is Love Me Like Your Style, just search that on YouTube and you'll find it, I loved it
Please tell me how guys are liking my very own twist to the story, I love adding a bit of my culture, it's like adding a little bit of me into my story
