Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it! I hope you like the following chapter and.. buckle up guys!
Chloe hated it but she didn't ask Beca about her birth place or her scar and it was eating her alive. She didn't know how to and she was afraid it'd upset Beca, making the girl think Chloe was accusing her of lying when she just wanted to know what was happening.
Even after they planned their first date for the next weekend, which was much too long a wait for the redhead, Chloe thought about what she was going to do. She talked to Aubrey and Stacie about it and the two told her to thread carefully, even though Beca's little lie didn't exactly hurt their relationship but it was confusing.
"Guys, guys!" Stacie came into the house that Wednesday afternoon, wearing a pink and white cap, baseball pink glove and even a bat. "Guess what?"
"Decided to join the golf team?" Aubrey said sarcastically, which earned a glare from Stacie.
"No, the softball team," Stacie rolled her eyes.
"That's very pink, is Sharpay Evans the captain?" Chloe asked.
"No, she's the coach," Stacie deadpanned. "I'm so excited, I've been wanting to join for months!"
"Happy for you, Stace," Chloe said, turning her attention back to her computer. She and Aubrey were sitting and working on the kitchen counter.
"Thanks, I'll leave that here, I'll be right back," Stacie put her bat against the wall by one of the chairs and the hat and glove on that chair, going upstairs.
"Hey guys, do we have coffee?" Jessica asked, coming out from her room. "I need to study and I can't keep my eyes open."
"Fresh pot by the sink," Chloe spoke without taking her eyes offscreen.
"Thanks," Jessica stepped closer, pulling her mug from the cabinet and pouring herself some coffee.
The door opened and Beca came in, humming softly as she removed her headphones, placing her bag on the chair. As she walked into the living room, she very audibly gasped as she saw the bat against the wall.
"What's wrong?" Aubrey asked as she looked up.
Chloe then looked up from her work as she watched and frowned. The girl was frozen in place, eyes wide in what appeared to be fear as she stared at the bat.
"Who does this belong to?" she asked, her voice low and shaky.
"Stacie," Chloe said.
"Fucking bitch!"
The three girls in the kitchen jumped on their places as Beca grabbed a portrait from the wall and threw it on the floor with all her might at the word 'bitch'.
"Beca -," Chloe said but was cut off again when Beca grabbed a vase and threw it against the wall, splashing the vase into a million pieces, dirt flying everywhere.
"Beca, what the fuck is -," Aubrey tried to scream but the brunette looked at her, anger in her eyes, and punched the window, obviously cutting her fist in the process.
"Beca, stop!" Chloe yelled, running over and hugging the brunette from behind.
"No! Let go of me!" Beca yelled, kicking her feet. She kicked the chairs, the couch and even another vase. "LET ME GO!"
"Beca, it's me! It's okay!" Chloe tried calming her down but Beca's feet were flying in the air as she kicked and screamed.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" Beca screamed at the top of her lungs. She accidentally kicked Chloe on the shin, immediately making the redhead let go of her.
"Beca!" Aubrey yelled angrily as she rushed over to Chloe.
Beca, however, didn't seem to listen to Aubrey, she grabbed the bat with her bloody hand and headed for Aubrey and Chloe.
"I'll break your foot!" Beca said, raising the bat above her head with two hands. As she was ready to take a swing, Stacie, having rushed downstairs with all the commotion, grabbed her bat and overpowered the smaller brunette.
Beca let go of the bat and turned to Stacie, throwing a punch across her face.
"You'll never lock me up again!" she yelled, running towards the front door and opening. She was out before anyone could do anything.
The girls looked at each other, all in fear. Stacie and Chloe were crying from their wounds and the others were all processing what they had just watched. Not even Aubrey could think of what to say.
oO0Oo
Chloe had gotten only a bruise from her kick but Stacie wasn't so lucky, she had a broken nose. And the Bellas had a mess to clean up, including the broken window. Much to everyone's surprise, Aubrey said no one should report Beca and she never looked so serious. After Stacie was back from the hospital, it was dark and Beca was still nowhere to be found.
"Tell us again why can't we report that bitch?" Stacie said.
"Didn't you listen to her? She said 'I'll break your foot', emphasizing 'your';" Aubrey said,
"she said 'you'll never lock me up again', she obviously wasn't talking to us."
"Still, she could've killed someone!" Stacie said.
"I know, but still, until we get to the bottom of this, let's stay put," Aubrey said.
"You're not kicking her out?" Chloe asked coldly, not taking her eyes from the coffee table. Her eyes were fixed but they looked dead and tired.
"What?" Aubrey and Stacie asked, surprised.
"You want to kick her out? What happened to your crush?" Aubrey asked.
"It pretty much ended the moment I saw my 'crush' headed for me with a baseball bat," Chloe said, looking at Aubrey in anger. "I can't believe you're holding us back, Aubs, you were right the whole time! You should be happy!"
Aubrey opened her mouth to speak but before she could give her reasons, the door opened and Beca came in. Her hand was wrapped in a bandage and she looked like a complete mess. Eyes puffy and red, hair completely out of place, nose red and running.
"Chloe -," Beca started.
Chloe simply got up with crossed arms and headed for the stairs but Beca stood in her way.
"Please, I can explain!" Beca said.
"Explain how you broke Stacie's nose and tried to kill us?" Chloe spoke in anger.
"Yes, I can explain!" Beca said.
Chloe pushed Beca aside and ran upstairs. The brunette turned to Aubrey and Stacie with despair in her eyes.
"Guys, I really can explain!" Beca said.
"Me too! You're in fact a heartless bitch who will throw punches for no reason!" Stacie said.
"It's not like that!" Beca said. "It was.. it was the bat, it.. it gave me a flashback and.. it sent me into a horrible nightmare, I wasn't aware what was happening."
"The bat?" Stacie said.
"A flashback to what?" Aubrey asked.
Beca took a deep breath and sat down on one of the chairs across from the two girls.
"I never told anyone this but.. as a kid, I was tortured physically and mentally by the people who gave me life," Beca said, looking down at her hands. "I was kept locked in my room and each time it opened, the man was carrying something; either a hot tool from the fireplace, a simple 2x4 or.. a baseball bat."
Aubrey and Stacie didn't dare move or talk as they listened to the story.
"Each time I saw one of those items I knew I was gonna get it," Beca continued, her fingers pressing hard against each other, her nails turning white from the strength. "So sometimes when I see those things, it gives me a flashback and.. I react violently."
Beca looked up at them but kept her head low. She was crying again.
"That's why that day at the competition, I attacked you, Aubrey," she said. "I had a flashback and.. Unfortunately, you were the closest to me."
Aubrey offered her a sympathetic look.
"That's why I'm aggressive sometimes, I don't mean to be," Beca looked back down. "And I never meant to hurt Chloe, she was just trying to help."
"Wait, so that means you're -," Stacie said, her eyes wide as realization hit her.
"Brianna Johnson, yes, that's my birth name," Beca nodded, looking up. "All the scars in my body are from back then, I never fell into a fire. I just tell that story so it'll be less painful."
"Holy shit!" Stacie said.
"I knew it," Aubrey said.
"You knew?" Beca asked.
"Well, after that whole angry tornado thing, I put two and two together," Aubrey said. "Not the Brianna thing but about you going through some sort of childhood trauma."
Beca nodded.
"Yeah," she said. "I'm sorry Aubrey for that episode years ago and I'm sorry Stace for breaking your nose, I never meant to hurt you guys."
"It's okay, it must've been horrible what you went through," Stacie said.
"And to relive that.." Aubrey shivered.
"Do you think Chloe will forgive me?" Beca asked worriedly. "She's the only person who's ever tried to get to know me despite my aggressive ways."
"She'll probably cry with you," Stacie said.
"But Chloe needs space right now," Aubrey said. "She's very sensitive and she probably will be heartbroken when you tell her."
Beca nodded.
"But don't worry, Beca, she'll be fine, she needs time," Aubrey said. "I'll try and talk to her."
"But please don't tell her about the Brianna thing," Beca said. "I wanna be the one to tell her myself."
Aubrey and Stacie nodded.
"How's your hand?" Aubrey asked.
"Hurts," Beca said. "Unfortunately, that's not the first time I punched a window."
"I think you need some rest, Beca," Aubrey said.
Beca nodded and got up.
"Thanks, Aubrey," She said. "I mean it."
Aubrey nodded, getting up. She was surprised when Beca walked over and hugged her. She was taken by surprise at first but hugged her back, eyes filling with tears as she thought about the story the brunette just told them. She looked at Stacie and the girl was crying, too.
"Don't you dare cry," Beca said. "Or I'm gonna pitch slap you."
Aubrey chuckled and they pulled apart, wiping their tears.
"Night guys," Beca said with a tired sigh and a wave. She went upstairs and the two tall girls in the living room finally allowed themselves to cry their tears. It was so heavy and so heartbreaking to hear something like that but they didn't want to show that in front of Beca.
