The sky was becoming greyer by the minute and soon rain droplets began to hit the windshield of the Impala. Dean's face practically matched the mood of the sky, his hands were gripped tight to the steering wheel, eyes were determined and focused on the road ahead, his jaw was clenched tight and had a scowling frown on his face that would make most grown men take a step back. As the rain began to fall down heavier Dean's worry and anxiety deepened. He hoped Holly was inside some place warm. He knew her jacket was not going to hold up in this kind of weather and made a mental note to himself to get her a better seasoned jacket when he found her.
Sam sat next to Dean in the passenger seat looking out the window with concern as the rain beat down on the Impala. As the minutes ticked on in silence Sam's annoyance and fear began to build up rapidly. He found himself grinding his teeth and licking his lips and bouncing his leg trying to keep in his pent-up emotions. Nothing needed to be said about where they were going, they both instinctively knew where they were first going to look thanks to their dad's instructions that were relentlessly pounded into their heads from childhood and well into adulthood. They knew the steps and began the process of searching without words or second thoughts. One of the most important advantages was beginning as soon as you possibly could, the longer you wait, the likelihood of finding the person goes down significantly each hour. Holly happened to have a six-hour advantage and for someone who didn't want to be found that was a decent head start, enough to make Sam and Dean uneasy.
Dean zoomed down the winding country road not bothering to slow down and compensate for the rain. The windshield wipers were swiping across the windshield rapidly. There was a long stretch of back roads before you hit the nearest town and Dean was positive Holly must have hitchhiked her way into town. If she wanted to get away quickly that would be the only way to do it and he was sure she would have had no trouble with her pretty face to get a ride. He hoped she was smart enough not to get into the car with man that could over power her, but he greatly doubted it. She trusted people far too much then she should, in his option. He knew she had her switch blade on her, but that gave him little comfort.
After a long while Sam couldn't take it anymore and broke the heavy silence. Sam let out a heated breath. "I wanna know what you said to her." He stated rather demandingly, if not a little harsh his concern for Holly getting the better of him.
Dean gave a sideways glare at his brother feeling his jaw clench even tighter. Dean remained silent feeling a growl build up in his chest.
"Huh? Dean, what did you say to her? You must have said something because she left and clearly doesn't plan on coming back." Sam declared feeling his heart become sicker with worry.
Again, Dean said nothing keeping his eyes on the road, but anger, fear and frustration were boiling up inside of him furiously at every word Sam spoke.
"What you're not going to say anything? You know you're becoming more and more like Dad every day. You think you know what's best, braking orders, dishing out punishment, acting like a Sargent Major when all your doing is pushing everyone away. You're so concerned with pushing down your own feelings you don't care who you hurt in the process. As long as your orders are followed and they're still breathing you've done your job, right? Doesn't matter how. You don't care about how she feels. Now were looking for Holly in this torrential downpour all because you refuse to be nothing more than tyrannical jerk!"
Suddenly, the Impala swerved into to a patch of open grass sending Sam flying into the passenger door. Dean jerked the car into park and ripped the driver side door open kicking it open when it flew back towards him. He slammed the door shut stomping around the front of the Impala towards Sam's passenger door letting the heavy rain beat down over him. Dean clearly had heard enough.
Sam hadn't much time to think before his door was yanked open and his older brother reached in and grabbed fists full of his jacket. Dean jerked him out of the car slamming his back into the side of the Impala. One look at his brother's drenched face and knew he had pushed it. Dean's eyes held absolute fury. All of Dean pent-up emotions boiled over and Sam was reaping the consequences.
Dean swung back a fist and purposefully connected it with Sam's nose. Sam's head snapped to the side feeling his face tighten up in pain. He reached up and wiped the small trickle of blood that dripped from his nose. Sam sucked in air deeply through his nose, both from the pain and to prevent blood from dripping down into his mouth. Sam had been punched by his brother before and he knew that Dean could have swung a lot harder. That did not make him any less hurt by his actions, they were way worse than the physical pain of the blow. Sam turned to face his brother with a stiff hurt face.
"Hit me all you want, Dean. It's not going to change the fact that Holly left." Sam said boldly showing his brother how ineffective his actions were towards him.
Dean's scowled deepened and moved his face closer to his brother's. "Not another word, Sammy or I swear to God, you think I'm like dad now? Keep pushing me and I will turn into dad so fast it will rock your world." His voice was eerily calm which made the threat much more ominous.
Sam's bravado faltered at Dean's words believing the man as his penetrating eyes studied his face for a hint of insolence. One thing was for sure, he was very much like his dad in more ways than one and being intimidating was one of them.
Dean took a step back and looked at his brother almost with disappointment and hurt behind his deep frown. "You can disagree with me and judge me all you want Sammy. You want to compare me to dad? Fine. But don't you ever suggest I don't care about her or her feelings."
There was a long moment of silence while they both were taking in each other's words. Sam opened his mouth like he was going to say something, but Dean quickly interrupted him.
"Let's go. We're wasting time." Dean said walking around the Impala to the driver side.
Sam wiped the rest of the blood on his wet jacket sleave then gentle pitching the bridge of his nose noting that it would probably bruise. It was definitely not the hardest his brother had ever punched him, but it didn't tickle either. Sam found himself slightly grateful that Holly wasn't here to witness what had just happened. She would not like it, to say the least.
After another mile or two of tense silence Sam finally decided to speak, the guilt was slowly eating away at him. He turned his head towards his brother who was intensely focused on the road ahead.
"You know I didn't really mean what I said. I just…I just want to find, Holly." Sam said carefully greatly regretting his words he spoke towards his brother. He knew it didn't help, in fact, it made it worse and got his nose bloody for it, but mostly he knew he hurt his brother.
"I know, Sammy." Dean lied calmly wanting his brothers mind to be put at ease.

Holly quickly pushed through the glass door of the motel office getting instant relief the relentless downpour. Once inside she pulled down the hood of her jacket and shook her head slightly throwing off some of the excess water. She was pretty much soaked to the skin. The rain had seeped through her jacket and hood and her jeans were just as wet clinging to her body uncomfortably. The only place that was dry was her feet. Luckily, her boots were thick and built for harsher weather. Dean insisted on them saying she would thank him for it. Holly felt a burning pain in her heart at the thought of it feeling her throat go raw, but quickly convinced herself to get over it and not let Dean keep occupying her mind. Although, she knew she couldn't keep it up for too long.
Once the couple in front of her checked in. Holly approached the front desk duffle bag flung across her shoulder. The lady at the desk looked to be about Holly's age perhaps a little younger, her blonde hair was pulled back in a thick clip. After she finished jotting something down on a notepad, she looked up to greet Holly with a smile, but the smile quickly morphed into a sympatric frown.
"Got caught in the rain." Holly said simply with good humor as she shrugged her shoulders.
"You sure did." She commented seeming glad she was not in Holly's current state.
"Do you have any rooms available for the night?" Holly asked hopeful that she would be able to get a room.
"Yeah. What room would you like? A single, queen bed?" The woman asked typing on the computer looking for availability.
"Actually, do you have a room with two twins? Or two queens?" Holly asked politely biting her bottom lip looking up at her innocently.
The lady gave Holly a skeptical, somewhat confused look. "Um yeah. I have one here with two queens. Is someone else staying with you?" The lady asked wondering if Holly was trying to get away with sneaking more people into one room.
"No, it's just me." Holly said giving her a friendly smile. The lady shrugged her shoulders and shook her head as she booked Holly for a room with two queen beds seeming to not care about her reasoning which Holly was grateful for. She ended up paying for the room in cash.
"Alright you'll be in room 42." She said handing her the key.
"Thank you." Holly said accepting it and putting it into her pocket. Holly went to walk away before turning immediately back around to the counter. "Oh, I almost forgot. Are you going to be working here in the next couple hours?"
"Oh yeah. I'll be here till 7:30 tonight." She said almost complaining looking at Holly with her big blue eyes.
"If by any chance two men come looking me. Please don't tell them I checked in." Holly said giving her a very serious pleading look.
The lady looked at Holly somewhat concerned and confused. "Oh, okay." She stuttered out.
"Thank you." Holly said gratefully and walked towards the elevators to get her room.

After a wonderful hot shower, Holly changed into the dry clothes she recently purchased at the second-hand store across the street. Holly didn't have many clothes and was sure Sam and Dean would recognize her just by her clothing if they were in a crowd of people. The black pair of jeans were a little snug for her tastes, but they fit and the large baggy grey sweatshirt was at least warm if not as ugly as sin. Holly pulled on the baggy windbreaker over top of the plain grey sweatshirt that she swore came straight out of 1985. She pulled a black ballcap over her neatly braided long hair then pulled the blue and pink windbreaker hood over it. Holly looked in the mirror of the bathroom and nearly cringed. Well, she wasn't going for style and she had to purchase items quickly. She knew Sam and Dean would not be far behind her and she knew the longer she could avoid them finding her in the first 24 hours was crucial to her having a better chance of disappearing.
Holly looked at herself in the mirror for a long moment taking in the dark circles under her eyes and the sad disgruntled look on her face. Holly soon felt her bottom lip tremble and her eyes become blurry with tears. It wasn't long before sobs escaped her trembling lips. There was an uncontrollable sadness that was consuming her tired body. Holly backed up against the bathroom wall with her hands covering her face not wanting to look at herself in this state and slowly sank down to the floor breaking down completely. She let herself cry, long and hard releasing all the sadness that was built up in her heart. She wanted someone to hold her. No, she wanted Dean. She never wanted something so bad in her life, that hurt this bad to lose. Holly wiped away at her tears furiously with her palms willing herself to stop crying and being so weak, but it was useless and the tears kept streaming down her face relentlessly without pause till her face felt raw and stingy. Holly kicked the cabinet of the vanity in front of her in frustration nocking one of the hinges loose. After what seemed like an eternity, she finally calmed down enough to get her emotions under control. Holly looked over at the cabinet door hanging sideways and shook her head in annoyance. She had never broken something in frustration before and kicked herself for being so mentally weak. Holly immediately kneeled in front of the cabinet and tried to fix the door. However, it seemed she kicked the screws sideways striping the cheap thin wood. Holly groaned and almost felt like crying all over again, but was determined not to for she felt she had cried enough. Holly stood up on shaky legs and looked at her red rimmed eyes and tear-streaked face in the mirror. Holly grimaced at what she saw. She did not look well, in fact, she looked sick. She splashed water over her face and patted it dry with the cheap scratchy towel.
Holly took a deep shaky breath trying to calm herself down reminding herself why she was running. She heard what Dean said and knew he wished they had never met and she has been the biggest pain in the ass to him. Even if he loves her that is a pretty compelling reason for her to leave. It seemed like Dean needed her gone. She would no longer be a burden or another person to protect, he wouldn't have to worry about her reckless behavior, they would no longer fight and lash out at one another. It seemed with Holly gone it would be a blessing. Things could go back to the way they were with just Sam and him. Holly bit her lip feeling another wave of dejection come over as she thought of how she was probably hurting him for leaving so abruptly. She knew he did love her. She believed that. It might hurt for a little while, but Dean would get over it and after some time things would become easier for him. No matter how Holly looked at it, all she could see in the future with Dean was pain. Pain that she was sure she couldn't endure. Seeing his face every day would just remind her of the love she could not have. And it would be the same for Dean. Therefore, her leaving was for the better and she felt she was doing the right thing for both her and the Winchesters.
Holly took another deep breath telling herself to pull herself together. She needed to stay focused if she wanted to avoid being found. Holly was certain they were out looking for her right now and they were determined to find her, but she was just as determined to evade them.

The lady at the front desk of the Sunnyside Inn was listening to her I-pod when she heard the doorbell jingle. She immediately took off her headphones and looked up to greet the man. She stopped and blinked a few times as the tall man with broad shouldered approached the desk. She blinked a few more times taking in his handsome face and strong body structure. His brown hair was somewhat long and hung sexily just above his strong jaw line. He smiled at her warmly lighting up his masculine features. The lady smiled back big and broad, perhaps a little more than she usually would.
"Hi." The man greeted her in a friendly manner walking up to the counter.
"H-Hi, you here to check in?" She asked blink her blue eyes up at the man.
At seeing the woman's attraction to him, Sam immediately knew he had a good chance of getting the information he wanted.
"Um, no, actually I am looking for my sister. She was checking into one of the hotels in town, but not sure which one. Did she check in here by any chance? Her name is Holly Beckett. Although she might have checked in under a different name. She's about 5'5, long brown hair probably in a braid, brown eyes." Sam was unsure how far Holly would go to avoid detection, but he hoped this was just an impulsive stunt and that she wasn't planning on putting a huge amount of effort and resort to tactics of deception.
"Oh um…let me see." The lady said typing on her computer looking rather nervous as she turned her face away from the man. She typed and searched for "Holly Beckett" and was surprised to find that it was the same girl that came in this morning asking her not to let two men know she checked in. The lady blinked at her computer a few times and shifted in her seat nervously. She licked her lips and cleared her throat before turning back to look at the man.
"I-I don't have anyone checked in with that name, sir. You can try the hotel on Brickner Street. It's just a half a mile down the road." She said swallowing a bit after speaking. Although the man was very handsome and charming and did not seem overly subspinous to her. She decided not to tell the man just in case there was trouble. The woman gave her a very serious pleading look and something inside of her just couldn't betray that.
"Oh okay. I will try there. Thank you for all your help. Miss…uh?" Sam asked looking like he wanted to know her name.
"Oh Kit. Kit Conroy." She said smiling at him taken by his handsome smile.
"Kit." Sam repeated. "Thank you, Kit."
Sam turned to leave, but suddenly stopped and turned around like he forgot something. "I'm sorry, Kit." He said as he walked back over to the counter looking a bit more awkward and nervous than before. "I just wanted to grab one of these brochures." He said in a nervous laugh without taking his eyes off Kit. As Sam reached for one, he tripped and knocked the small plastic stand over the counter dropping to the floor with a thud.
"Oh, my goodness I am so sorry, Kit. So sorry." Sam apologized looking embarrassed.
"It's okay." She said genuinely. Honestly kind of flattered that a man like him was nervous around her. She bent down to pick up the mess and that's when Sam took the opportunity to lean over the counter and glance at the computer while picking up the brochures on the counter.
"I am so sorry." Sam repeated again handing her the brochures he picked up. "I'm going to go before I break anything." He chuckled nervously and walked out rather quickly.
Kit just smiled, but almost immediately frowned stomping her foot in frustration realizing she had not asked for his name.
Sam walked determinedly to the Impala ignoring the harsh rain beating down on him and got in the passenger side slamming the door shut.
"She there?" Dean asked deeply as he stared straight ahead watching the rain.
"She checked in as Holly Beckett. Room 42." Sam said pressing his lips together feeling both apprehension and uneasiness in his gut.
Dean looked over at his brother his eyebrows in a deep frown contemplating a bit before speaking. "Alright, there's stairs on west side of the building. We'll go through there."
Sam nodded in approval. Ready to get Holly and bring her home.
Once at the top of the metal stairs. Dean picked the lock while Sam was looking out for any nosey pedestrians. It took Dean no time to pick the lock. When they walked into the heated building they were met with the smell of mothballs and tabaco. The floors creaked as they walked down the hallway of the dull faded red carpet. They stopped at the light wooden door with the gold numbers 42. Sam looked over at Dean who just glared at the door a few moments before pounding his fist on the door three times.
They waited a beat, but there was no answer, not even a rustle of movement. Dean pounded on the door again, but this time harder than before feeling his frustration and impatience get to him. He felt his body go jittery with anxiety.
Sam looked over at Dean eyeing him with an unspoken request. Dean nodded stiffly.
"Holly! Are you in there?" Sam asked trying to keep his voice even.
When Holly didn't answer to that Dean just couldn't contain himself anymore.
"Holly! Open the damn door!" Dean growled deeply pounding on the door once again in frustration.
Sam's eyes widened and looked over at Dean exasperated that he couldn't just keep his mouth shut for a few minutes. What little chance they had of Holly open the door before Dean opened his mouth was slim to none at best. Now, he was certain Holly would not comply.
Dean growled deeply in his throat as he pulled out the lock pick and began to work on the lock vigorously. Sam wasn't sure this was the best idea, but he couldn't think of a better alternative. He just hoped that Dean would remain calm and listen to Holly and that Holly would listen to him. There was a click and Dean immediately pushed the door open surprised to find the chain lock was not used.
"Holly!" Dean yelled scanning the undisturbed empty room. Dean stomped over to the bathroom only to find it empty as well, but it was clear that the towels had been used.
Dean walked out of the bathroom to find Sam by the nightstand. "She was here." Dean announced somewhat hopeful that she might come back to the room.
However, that hope was crushed real quick when Sam held out a Sunnyside Inn stationery towards him. Dean immediately took the notepad and scanned it with his eyes.
Stop looking for me.
Dean's face morphed into on deep scowl. He felt his jaw clench and his body shake with frustration and anger.
"I'm going to kill her." He seethed with clenched teeth lowering his tone to new depths.
He crumpled up the small notepad in his hand and chucked it angrily on the floor and immediately stalked out of the room enraged. The reality of Holly not being there was frustrating, but what was even worse was her note meant that she was going to fight and make it really hard on them to find her.
Sam shook his head realizing that they grossly underestimated her. Holly was serious and putting in a real effort to run from them. It appeared that it was not going to be over as quick as they expected. Although, they should have known that she would make it difficult from the start knowing Holly's annoying determination and stubbornness.
However, she did learn all her skills of evasion from them and Sam knew it was only a matter of time until they found her. He just hoped it would be sooner rather than later. If they wanted to find her quickly, they had to step up their game and track her down like they were on another Hunt. Vacation at Bobby's was over and Holly was making it clear that it was time to get back into the mindset of Hunting.
Sam walked out of the room and followed Dean with a frustration of his own build up in his gut. He just wanted to find her and put this all behind them.

It was about 11:30pm when Holly finally fell onto the mattress with a sigh. She wondered if that lady at the Sunnyside Inn told Sam and Dean she was staying there or if they even checked out that Inn in the first place. Who was she kidding? Of course, they did. It was probably the first place they checked. Although it didn't really matter, she was sure Sam and Dean would find someway to get into the room she checked into. She hoped the two blockheads would spend the night there. She got the two queen beds for that reason. It would be a waste of money if they didn't. Although they probably weren't thinking about money at the moment.
Holly hoped that she did enough to avoid them for the night at least. She took a cab to the town in the opposite direction of the Sunnyside Inn which cost her a pretty penny. She opted to stay in the nicest Hotel in town which killed her cheap self to do it, but it was the last hotel they would expect her to be in. They knew how cheap she was. Also, she checked in under Alex Greene which was not one of their code names, of course, and it was a fairly neutral name that shouldn't arise their suspicion if they were to check the hotel out.
Holly hated this. She hated running from them and she hated how everything turned out. The pain of everything was consuming and devastatingly damaging to her heart. She began to feel tears line her eyes once again, but quickly wiped them away angrily. She refused to cry hysterically again. Holly was running around all day and was exhausted, but now that she finally laid down to rest her heart was reminding her of how much pain she was in. Holly was cursing herself and started to wonder why she even loved the bullheaded unreasonable man in the first place. He was stubborn, exasperating and irrational. He always feels he knows best and is unwavering in his thoughts. They were constantly butting heads about something or arguing unnecessarily. Not to mention he spanking her like a child. Anyone could see that they were not compatible. But here she was in an overly expensive hotel room crying over the green-eyed Hunter that her heart so wrongly loved. She was kicking herself for being so stupidly in love.
Holly stomach began to growl reminding her that he had not eaten anything all day. Holly just pulled the warm cotton comforter over her body silently apologizing to her stomach as she drifted off to sleep from exhaustion.
0000
The next morning Holly looked at the digital clock on the nightstand and nearly jumped out of the bed. She had over slept a whole two hours more than she wanted to. It was 8:07AM by the time she was dressed and out the door, a personal record. Holly made it to the lobby seeing breakfast being served in the dinning area. His stomach growled loudly in desire. Holly thought that it wouldn't hurt to eat a quick breakfast before she left, besides it was free. Holly filled her stomach with eggs, toast, bacon and coffee which was such a blessing on her empty stomach. Holly walked over to the coffee station to get another cup when something caught her eye towards the lobby.
Holly physically took a step back as her breath caught in her throat nearly gasping out loud at the sight of Sam and Dean at the front desk talking to the concierge. Holly's heart began to race wildly wondering why the hell they picked this hotel to search for her. They were in their suits and held badges out to the lady. Holly inwardly groaned knowing that people will give all kinds of information as long as a badge was thrown in their face. Holly immediately went back to her table and grabbed her duffle bag. She knew there was an exit on the opposite side of the building and decided that was her best route to escape undetected.
She took the path furthest from the front desk walking behind every decretive display. Holly tried to walk at a normal place trying not to draw attention from anyone. She instinctually pulled up her hood of her 1980s windbreaker over her ballcap. Holly's heart was pounding in her chest as she made her way down the long hallway. She quickened her paces as she saw the red exist sign become closer. Holly dared to glace behind her for a moment and was relived to find that they were not following her. Holly pushed through the exit door and felt the cold damp air hit her face. As the exit door closed behind her, she leaned her back against it letting out the long breath she had been holding.
Holly was grateful that the rain had stopped, but it was still a very cloudy grey day. It seemed quite fitting for her situation and mood at the moment. Holly rounded the building and cautiously peaked around the corner to the front of the hotel. There she immediately spotted the Impala in the line of cars, sticking out like a sore thumb. Holly instantly whipped her head back around to the building like Baby would see her and tell the boys where she was. Holly took a deep breath and decided to go in the opposite direction. There was a bus station not far from the hotel where she had planned to get tickets to go to the next town or preferably further. Holly began to run in the direction of the bus station. Nothing like a morning jog in boots and a duffle bag over your shoulder. The boots fell heavy onto the pavement and the strap of her duffle bag dug deep into her shoulder weighing her down greatly. Holly groaned, but despite everything picked up her pace to compensate for the extra weight. She needed to get away from that hotel and out of town as quickly as possible.
0000
Dean out of the corner of his eye spotted movement of an outdated blue windbreaker that disappeared down the side hallway. He narrowed his eyes having a strong feeling in his gut that Holly might be under that bulky jacket. Without a word Dean patted Sam's arm without taking his eyes off the hallway. Sam stopped talking to the lady, who seemed to not be of much help anyway, and immediately turned his head towards his brother. Dean started to take determined strides towards the far hallway. Sam taking the non-verbal ques quickly thanked the lady and followed Dean knowing he had found something.
Dean peered down the hallway to see the lady walking at a brisk pace towards the exit door at the end of the hallway. Dean studied her walk and her movements and narrowed his eyes in on the oddly dressed frame that seemed to be swallowed by the baggy windbreaker. Dean saw her neck turn and immediately pulled himself out of sight, Sam instantly did the same seeing the signs just as quickly. After a beat Dean peered around the corner to see the woman push through the exit door and disappear.
Dean felt his teeth grind slightly. "That was Holly." Dean grumbled with certainty sounding annoyed as ever. There was no doubt in his mind that the figure walking down the hallway was his wayward runaway.
"Yep." Sam agreed simply nodding his head not looking at his brother.
From everything they knew about Holly and everything they had taught her all they needed was to see her back. Between her quickened pace, strange attire and odd behavior made her not only suspicious, but easy to spot. They knew Holly would probably disguise herself in some way although they didn't suspect her clothes to look the way they did. Perhaps it was all she could find quickly or she was just being her penny-pinching self. They checked many hotels, but they anticipated that perhaps she would try to go against her normal behavior and pick an expensive one to try to evade them. They've known Holly for over a year which gave them an advantage more than Holly anticipated.
Sam and Dean hastily made their way to the front of the hotel before breaking out into a run as they made it outside to the Impala. Dean whipped the Impala out of the parking space and sped out of the hotel parking lot roaring the engine loudly. Sam held onto the dash as Dean jerk the car right onto the road with a look of pure determination on his face. He was going to catch Holly no matter what.
Holly heard the roar of the familiar engine across the street and whipped her head around to see a blur of black steel jerk out of the hotel parking lot. Holly picked up her pace into a dead-on sprint trying to run anywhere that would get her out of sight and away from any road ways. Her duffle bag jerked around wildly screwing with her balance and form. The windbreaker hood blew back off of her head relieving her black ballcap and her braid that flew around her shoulder onto her back. Her boots hammered loudly with every stride. Her legs ached in protest as she pushed them to go faster feeling her body fill with adrenaline.
Sam and Dean spotted Holly's blue windbreaker instantly.
"She's sprinting from us." Sam said sounding both surprised and hurt. Sam knew Holly was trying to avoid them, but full-on sprinting from them like they were dangerous was quite hurtful and he felt a twinge of pain from that.
"Yep." Dean bit out with clenched teeth feeling the hurt consume him. It did not escape his notice either that Holly was racing away from them like her life depended on it.
Holly jerked an immediate right onto a grass patch between two buildings where Holly was surprised to find a chain linked fence blocking her escape. Holly sped up jumping up onto fence gripping her fingers around the links tight as she found herself being pulled down by the weight of her duffle bag. Holly grunted as she pulled herself up urging her shaking limbs to climb. Holly climbed determinedly to the top ignoring her burning limbs and scraps on her hands. Holly rounded the top and jumped down feeling her legs wobble underneath like her like jello as she hit the ground. Holly pushed her unstable self to stand and began to run once again.
Holly felt a lump in her throat form deeply and let a sob escape her lips as she ran. She didn't want this. She didn't want to run from them. She didn't want this all to happen. Why couldn't they just leave her? She was feeling scared and confused. Seeing them just made it all the worse and, now even more than before, felt she could not face them. She began to question herself and everything she was doing and thinking. She didn't know what was best or what she truly wanted. All she knew was that it hurt and that she had made a decision and she had to stick to it.
Holly ran around a back ally weaving through buildings trying to avoid roadways where ever she could. Holly stopped in another ally by some brick apartment buildings leaning against the cold wall stopping to catch her breath. She was breathing in heavy short breaths feeling her heart beat out of her chest, her muscles aching. Holly let out another sob feeling her eyes and throat burn from the unshed tears that were lining her eyes. However, Holly's break was short lived as she spotted the Impala out of the corner of her eye pull up into the ally. Holly gasped as she saw Sam and Dean emerge from the car with unmatchable speed. Holly didn't hesitate, she turned and ran, her adrenaline shooting through her body once again.
"Holly!" Dean barked his booming voice almost echoing off the close walls. Holly cringed hearing the voice seeming both desperate and frustrated.
Sam and Dean sprinted towards her gaining on her easily with their long legs and superior testosterone driven speed. Holly looked behind her quickly to see Sam and Dean only 30 yards behind her. Holly feet suddenly hit pavement and didn't even comprehend that she was running across the road until she heard a car's tires screech loudly along the blacktop.
"Holly, stop!" Sam yelled in earnest his tone dripping with fear.
Holly turned just in time to see a silver Sudan skid to a halt right behind her putting a large barrier between her and the Winchesters. A twinge of fear shot through her heart at the accident that almost occurred, but seeing that Sam and Dean were alright along with the man in the car Holly turned and continued to run.
Dean immediately ran around the car towards Holly with determination and urgency. His frown was deep and his adrenaline was pumping with fear and anger at what just occurred. He had all intentions of taking that reckless runaway over his knee. How dare she be so careless? What was she thinking?!
Sam was standing there stunned for a moment breathing heavily in shock before running after Holly and Dean. She's not thinking at all.
Holly ran across a gas station onto another road turning and running down it. She didn't know where she was going, all she was trying to do was get away. There was a loud horn that echoed piercingly through the air. It soon became louder and louder. Holly saw the flashing lights at the railway crossing. It was true Holly wasn't thinking clearly her emotions were taking over her entire rational being and was simple going off impulse. The loud echo of the trains horn rang in her ears and vibrated her feet. Holly ran towards the railway crossing with no indication of slowing down.
"HOLLY! STOP!" Dean voiced boomed in a frantic yell, but it was drowned out by the loud horn of the train appearing to be only a muffled cry. Holly heard Dean, but she wasn't listening. She could make it. All she had to do was run faster and make it to the other side.
Holly felt the thick medal underneath her feet as she crossed the track the loud booming horn echoing in her ear and the clanking sound of metal scrapping metal. Out of the corner of her eye she could see the blur of a black and yellow mass moving towards her. She could feel the ground vibrate under her feet and a swoosh of wind rush under her neck as she made it across the track. Holly turned to see the train rush across the track behind her. Holly's eye widened in fear and realization of how close that train really was to hitting her, she severely miscalculated how fast that thing was going. Holly put her hands on her knees breathing in shaky breaths.
Dean's boots skidded to a halt on the blacktop as the train rushed by him loudly screeching along the tracks putting up a barricade between Holly and himself.
"Woah." Sam said in shock at seeing Holly just make it across the track.
Dean's eyes were bugged out in pure terror. He let out a very unsteady breath through his nostrils. His heart was hammering in his chest as he felt his body shake in both shock and fear at almost seeing Holly get hit by a train. That was way too close to give Dean any kind of comfort.
Sam's chest was rising and falling rapidly from both excursion and fear. Holly scared them half to death.
Holly collected herself and stood upright watching the train screech across the tracks. Between the boxcars she could see Sam and Dean's frames standing there. Holly sighed deeply and felt her eyes fill up with tears.
"I'm sorry, Sam. I'm sorry, Dean." Holly whispered out feeling her bottom lip tremble. Part of her wanted to wait for them, in fact, her heart ached to wait for them, but she knew she couldn't. It was for the better for her not to be in their lives. With a heavy tired body and heart, she turned and jogged away.

Luckily for Holly the train was long and took a good amount of time to clear the tracks. Just in time for her to get away and get a cab to take her to another town that she was sure had a bus station. Holly sat in the back of the cab feeling miserable. She looked down at her boots that were wet and mudded. Her black jeans had mud splattered on them along with her duffle bag that were clearly visible. Her legs burned and ached from runny them so hard. She looked down at her hands that were scraped and bruised from climbing the chain link fence. Her braided hair was askew sticking out in all the wrong direction fizzy and tangled. Her brow was still damp with sweat and her face felt dry and raw from the cold wind. Holly dipped her head down letting her ballcap hide her face as her nose began to run slightly. Silent tears dripped down her face letting them fall onto her lap. She looked down at her hands with blurred vision watching them tremble slightly still feeling the after effects of the shock of almost getting hit by a train. How could I be so reckless and stupid? I just didn't think. She knew Dean was probably furious with her. She tried to convince herself that she was lucky to get away because he would definitely have spanked her for that. But an overwhelming sadness came over her. She has never felt so sad and alone before. She thought she was convinced she was doing the right thing, but why did it feel so wrong.
