"IS EVERYONE OKAY," Alyssa texted Teddy, Owen, Megan and Nathan.

Teddy, " breathe, the hospital shooting was in Oklahoma. None of us are anywhere near it. We are all safe."

Alyssa, "but last time there was a hospital shooting uncle Owen got shot."

Owen, "I know. I'm okay."

Owen attached a photo of himself on a walk with Leo and Allison in the stroller.

Alyssa, "that was scary."

Teddy, "it was."

Megan, "you were shot?"

Owen, "through and through left shoulder. Wash out and a few sutures."

Alyssa, "you were shot! And I was at school and I didn't know what was happening and no one came to pick me up."

Teddy, "I know. You had no information and thought the worst."

Alyssa, "then uncle Owen was in the hospital overnight and I couldn't go see him."

Teddy, "I know that was a hard night. That was a really hard night. We got through it. I was there you weren't alone."

Megan, "what happened? Who was with Alyssa?"

Owen ,"facts Lyss? What are the facts here?"

Alyssa, "auntie Teddy is texting back and is home on maternity leave. You sent a picture with Leo and Allison in the stroller. Mom is testing back. But I haven't heard from Nathan!"

Owen, "Riggs status? With proof."

Nathan, "I'm on a run."

Owen, "Megan, Riggs we need pictures."

Megan sent a picture of herself at work and Nathan sent a picture of himself in a park.

Alyssa, "we're not all accounted for."

Teddy, "who are we missing?"

Alyssa, "we're missing Faroke."

Megan, "he's at school and doesn't have a phone. He was happy and healthy when he went to school. He's on a field trip to a space museum today he was excited."

Teddy texted Megan separately, "I was with Alyssa for 48 hours, I kept her home from school until Owen was discharged. I got her as soon as I was out of the OR and trusted that another hospital would keep my patient stable. I didn't have keys and she thought Owen or Christina were picking her up so didn't take hers that morning. So I took her to my house. She slept in my bed that night."

Megan, "you let her sleep in your bed?"

Teddy, "I had a twin in her room, the room was tiny, she had a twin bed, her nightstand and a dresser. I couldn't even fit a desk in there for her. She did homework at the kitchen table or my desk in the living room. So when she couldn't calm down, when she was traumatised I did what my mom would have done. When I was that worked up and my dad worked overnight my mom would let me sleep in their bed. So I did that."

Megan, "this today would be a trigger for her?"

Teddy, "any shooting event on the news is. Schools, hospitals."

Megan, "how do we help?"

Teddy, "assure her everyone is safe. We send her pictures of us at home or doing normal day to day things. Do not talk about it with her when she's worked up. She's worked up."

Megan, "I come up tomorrow for her birthday."

Teddy, "does she know?"

Megan, "no. I get to celebrate Alyssa's birthday properly this year and finally meet Allison."

Teddy, 'she's grown in the last 3 weeks. Owen took both kids out in the stroller so I could have an hour. An hour of no one touching me and no kids depending on me."

Megan, "no one depending on your boobs to survive."

Teddy, "that two."

Megan, "no kids then the oldest is melting down."

Teddy, "but we can talk her down. Getting everyone's status is huge so that she can see us. The pictures are important."

Owen texted Megan, "about 10 years ago there was a shooting at Grey Sloan. 17 people died I had a through and through in my shoulder. Look up the Seattle Grace Shooting. Teddy had Lyss for the first 48 hours. She was with the best person I could think of to be with Alyssa. When I didn't know what to do I went to Teddy. Mom was embarrassing Teddy was supportive."

Megan, "we really owe her don't we?"

Owen, "yes. She never questioned, she just took Lyss under her wing. When she was dating Mark Sloan and his daughter was around I didn't like it."

Megan, "why?"

Owen, "Sloan's daughter was wild. She partied, drank, she was 3 or 4 years older than Lyss. She dropped out of highschool and was kicked out by her mom."

Megan, "Teddy let them hang out?"

Owen, "Teddy was there and would remind Lyss of our rules. We agreed, other kids could behave how ever their parents let them but Lyss couldn't. Lyss followed our rules."

Megan, "how did that go over?"

Owen, "she had no choice and her friends parents were okay with it. We were the strict ones."

Megan, "the shooting? My daughter has PTSD doesn't she."

Owen, "she got that diagnosis in highschool. She has had a lot of therapy time with a psychiatrist. She's still working on and off with a clinical counsellor. And she was medicated in highschool but with Dr Wyatt's help she stopped it before college and that was her choice. She knows what resources are out there and how to access them."

Megan, "how bad?"

Owen, "today is bad. This week has been rough leading up to her birthday often is. It was one of the times she would really miss and want you. I'm not sure why when she sees you tomorrow."

Megan, "she doesn't know yet. Only you, mom and Teddy know. I'm surprising her."

Owen, "she's bringing Matt give her the heads up."

Megan, "I want to surprise."

Owen, "not always the best tactic with Alyssa but do it your way."
