Chapter Fifty: The new Lady of the West

The next few days went by in a blur since everyone was too occupied with the preparations needed for the imminent introduction at court.

While Inuyasha spent most of the time discussing with Katsuro and the appointed guards, Kagome worried about Rin and helped her try several kimonos. They were joined by Kimi and Asuka that explained to the young girl everything Kagome couldn't. Those were busy days, and the priestess made sure that Rin could have her time to rest and eat in quantity and never let her stress herself too much. She was like a doting sister, and if in those days Rin had never felt overwhelmed, it was mainly thanks to Kagome and her support.

It also seemed that every time Rin was given a break coincided with the moment Kagome magically disappeared or was whisked away by an impetuous half-demon. Apparently, the preparations were driving Inuyasha crazy too. Every time he felt like he couldn't take it anymore, he went looking for his mate and tried to vent his stress with her, something Kagome surely wasn't complaining about because she needed the same.

Every moment and every place was good for making love. They took advantage of those few free moments, and Inuyasha didn't have qualms about kidnapping her and assaulting her in the most inconceivable places. Their lack of consideration or even disregard led to some uncomfortable or embarrassing situations, and sometimes they even risked getting caught in the act; (un)luckily for them, demons had a keen nose indeed. However, there was no lack of pointed looks and sneaky remarks when they came back to their business. Not that they could really hide what had occurred between the two, rather Inuyasha was always really smug and relaxed; he happily let his now pleasantly smelling mate go for her way. Obviously, that was another way to reaffirm his claim on her, much to Kagome's embarrassment.

Concerning Rin's pregnancy, Kimi had succeeded in convincing her son. Once she had explained to Sesshomaru that everything was only for his mate's sake, he hadn't opposed. The dog demoness had obtained a perfume approved by Sesshomaru and tested on Inuyasha and the personal guards that, for obvious reason, had been informed of Rin's condition. If used in a certain way and with some regularity, the fragrance could alter Rin's natural scent, which had now slightly changed due to the pup growing in her womb. According to every demon who had come near her after she had used it, nothing hinted that she was currently pregnant, and since no one would be allowed such proximity with her, there was no risk someone could discover the pregnancy before the time.

Kagome had also noticed that since she had spoken plainly with her, and probably even after whatever she and Sesshomaru had said to each other, Rin seemed much more comfortable and relaxed. It certainly helped with the hectic atmosphere of the past few days. The young girl started to feel at ease around Asuka and her sisters, who didn't hesitate to offer their help; besides, spending more time in close quarters with them was the best way to bond. Kagome hoped that, by the time they left, Rin had enough support to adjust to her new life.

The development was a good thing because it prepared Rin for what was to come, and the more relaxed she was, the better impression she would make the day of the introduction. Kagome suspected Sesshomaru was also instructing her in their private time; she only wished his lessons were held differently for his mate and not with his usual icy demeanour, even though Rin had never seen anything wrong with it.

Everyone had even started talking about the court meeting since Sesshomaru had already proclaimed there was an important announcement to make and no one knew what was about. Since Rin was never seen out of the royal wing and they had arrived at night, there were no rumours about new introductions. Certainly, it helped that the statement followed the attack on the valley because most of them thought it was related. In any case, just like it had happened years before with Inuyasha and Kagome, only a specific number of demons was allowed, among them courtiers and commanders.

Asagi had visited them for the last adjustments of the kimonos they would wear. The old seamstress had been informed of the situation, but there had been no shortage of threats from the dai-youkai. Under no circumstances was she to reveal the purpose of the event, or Sesshomaru would deal with her personally. Asagi had dismissed him as if it was nothing, not before she feigned outrage at the dog demon because of those insinuations. After that short talk, she had immediately started to work, overwhelming the women with her incessant blabbering, finding in Rin finally someone who talked as much as her. By midday, Kagome had a huge headache, and Inuyasha eagerly proposed himself to help her relieve it.

This time Sesshomaru hadn't spared Rin as he had done with Kagome: the new Lady had to wear a Junihitoe as his mate; it was expected. Neither Sesshomaru nor his mother had been indulgent. Getting Rin used to that kind of dress in three days had been a nightmare, and had Asagi been less sympathetic, there would have been more cries and screams. Kagome certainly had screamed a lot inwardly. By now, the number of layers required to wear had been considerably decreased, but Kagome wondered how women had been able to move wearing twelve heavy layers if it was already difficult like that. At one point, Asagi had even tried to shoo away Kimi because, according to the seamstress, she was making her tutee uncomfortable. Everyone had expected a discussion to start, but to Kagome's surprise, Kimi had simply laughed and left the room.

The colour scheme chosen for the kimono went lighter to white, but there was a predominance of pink and green, and simple white flowers decorated the colourful layers. Needless to say, Rin looked fabulous, and Kagome wondered what happened to the little girl who used to be always messy and hated wearing shoes.

She was a woman now.

The transformation was over, and the West was Rin's new home.

Finally, after five long days, at the dawn of the sixth day, Kagome woke up, knowing the big day had come. Everything had been organized, nothing was amiss, and they had decided to let Rin relax for the first hours until they started preparing her for the debut.

"You ready?" came Inuyasha's voice from behind her. He laid supine with his hands behind his head, his chest bare, and a rather resigned expression; Kagome turned to him, and he offered her a come-hither look. She placed a soft kiss on his lips, trying to savour the peace between them for as long as she could before pups, guards and maids could come to break it. Inuyasha cupped her cheek and deepened the kiss, tangling his other hand in her hair.

When they broke it, Inuyasha sighed, and Kagome laid her head on his chest. "I think so. By now, I'm not worried anymore about what people say at these events. I'm sure they will find something else to say about us anyway, but probably we already heard it. As for Rin, we did everything we could do to prepare her. It's up to her and Sesshomaru now; we can only offer our support."

"It seemed like it's been forever since we arrived, yet it's not even six days, and I'm already annoyed. I want to go back to the village and be free to do what I want. Here the situation will only get more difficult."

"That's not true; we only need to make it through this day. Then you can go sparring with whoever you want as I have to cope with obnoxious demonesses who think themselves better than everyone." She rolled her eyes.

Inuyasha chuckled. "I can see that after all these years, you got used to that. Not that I can blame you. Just look at the bright side, you'll have another opportunity to goad Keiko, and I can have my fun with her father. Oh, how much I like that family. If they didn't exist already, someone would have to invent them."

"I seem to recall the first time you met Shou didn't go so well," Kagome remarked, "you were quite angered at him."

"That was before I got to kick his ass and find out how amusing is to listen to their delusional blabbing about heirs, mates and rights," Inuyasha specified. "I love to nip their dreams in the bud every time."

"I must agree here. It sure will be good seeing Keiko thrashing and whining as soon she realizes she has no possibilities. I mean, I could even feel sorry for her if she wasn't so obnoxious and a snob."

"That's right. Now..." Inuyasha kissed her again, then moved his focus towards her creamy, tantalizing skin, "Why don't we try to make the best of our free time?"

Kagome eagerly complied; she really needed an incentive before she started a long day.

An hour later, when Chie went to wake them up, she was stopped by two embarrassed guards and the moans she could hear coming from their room.

Kagome found herself again in front of two huge doors guarded by two Tengu at each side.

Like a déjà vu, everything seemed to repeat itself: the fancy dresses they wore, Kichiro and Osamu escorting them towards the grand hall, Inuyasha's arm tight around her waist; heck, even Myoga had come along.

However, this time she didn't have a pup in her arms but an older Muteki by her hand. Yet, a few tears had still escaped her again, seeing how magnificent her sons were in their kimonos. The guards outside were more than two and no one was waiting for them on the other side of the doors because everyone already knew them. Kagome wasn't the one to be introduced, nor her children. She would cross the aisle with her head held up high and take a seat on the dais. From there, she would be an onlooker like everyone else, and at the same time, she would try to offer her comfort to Rin in the best way she could.

Inuyasha squeezed her arm and looked at her, an encouraging smile on his face, his other hand holding Toga's. "You ready?" She nodded. He then addressed their sons, "What are the rules, boys?"

"Be quiet and let uncle Sesshomaru do everything," they recited. They may be little rascals when they wanted - which was almost always - but they knew when they had to behave as the perfect Lords. The transformation was admirable, especially in the case of Toga, who, at any other time, couldn't sit still for a moment.

"Very well, let's start then." He nodded to the Tengu guarding the entrance, and a second later, the doors opened, revealing a room full of expectant demons that immediately turned to them. By their disappointed looks, Inuyasha imagined they believed Sesshomaru to be the first to enter as any other time. But everything had already been planned. Inuyasha and his family would be the first to enter and assist Sesshomaru and Rin's entrance like anyone else. They had thought it would have been better for Rin, who could focus on Kagome already there as she walked through the hall rather than on the hundreds of pairs of eyes observing her.

Slowly, the family of four started walking down the grand hall, not heeding the murmurs or gazes, looking straight at Jaken, already at the foot of the dais, and the several appointed guards for more protection; Sesshomaru wasn't taking any chance.

When they finally reached the dais, they didn't take their usual seats next to Sesshomaru as everyone expected them to, but they moved slightly behind. Now that Sesshomaru had taken a mate, Kagome and Inuyasha couldn't seat any more at her place but, as a sign of respect, they adjusted themselves one step back. This was the first clue for the court, which certainly hadn't missed the change. Moreover, the new arrangement highlighted not one but two cushions currently empty in the central position.

This way, when Inuyasha's family finally settled, most of the demons had started imagining the outcome of the event.

Did they think that Sesshomaru simply wanted to announce his intention of taking a mate and that the new cushion was a symbol? Maybe. Inuyasha was sure no one would expect his brother to be already mated.

He let his gaze drop to everyone who was currently there. He firstly focused on the council. Goro was wearing a scowl, as usual; Inuyasha didn't believe he had already informed Shou's family, otherwise, the dog demons would have already been complaining and shouting as their usual. Kosuke returned his gaze; he seemed resigned but at the same time not at all pleased. The other five seemed calm enough, even if the half-demon was sure they weren't so happy either by the way things had developed. Well, everyone but Hayato, who had known everything from the start but, of course, that wasn't public knowledge.

Shou's family seemed pleased, instead. As every time Sesshomaru said he had an announcement to make, they always expected it to have something to do with them. They were so delusional they still thought Sesshomaru would claim Keiko as her mate sooner or later, no matter how many times he or his mother had explicitly said he wasn't interested in the last seven years. Keiko seemed even more dressed up than any other day, and of course, they had noticed the empty cushion next to the one Sesshomaru usually seated on. Oh, it was going to sting so bad.

Noboru's circle was dramatically smaller than last time. It hadn't escaped anyone's notice that all the traitors came from there and that Noboru himself was currently absent because suspected. Other families and commanders were giving them the wide berth, especially the ones that had endured losses due to the attack. The wound was still fresh, and rumours that the Lady's brother could be the source of everything that had happened were many. It didn't matter he hadn't been sentenced because of the lack of practical proof; for many, there was already a lot that could prove his guilt.

If once someone used to ignore the animosity that flowed between him and the half-demon, things changed since the valley had been attacked and everyone had paid the consequences. Now no one was willing to ignore the veiled threats Noboru had made whenever he was in the presence of Inuyasha and his family. Everything that had happened previously only proved that he had always intended to attack the valley. He was guilty and, if he couldn't be executed, he had to be treated as a traitor.

Certainly, it was opportunistic, but Inuyasha didn't expect anything else. At least, now Noboru's sphere of influence had radically decreased and no one would have listened to anything that came out of his mouth – or his lover for the matter. He hadn't considered it before he saw today disposition, but it was certainly a card to play in their favour. Oh, he didn't doubt their enemies still had a lot to say. Besides, even if Noboru was confined, Tsubasa was still attending, and she wasn't one to give up so easily. Inuyasha was also sure the couple was only waiting for time to pass and people to forget. However, at least, no one would consider what she would say that evening, maybe not even those against interracial mating.

In Noboru's circle everyone was sneering, and Tsubasa, in particular, wore a contemplative and sarcastic look, as if she didn't fear at all the cold shoulder they were given her. Inuyasha locked eyes with her for a moment, his gaze blazing, and like every other time, she looked back smugly. She then dropped her eyes to the pups suggestively, and he bared his fangs in response. He couldn't wait to finally sharpen his claws on her.

Any other demon was curious, worried or even judging. The silent question rang throughout the hall: What was going to happen as soon as Sesshomaru crossed the threshold?

Rin was ready.

When Kagome and Inuyasha had left to reach the grand hall, Asagi had stayed for another couple of minutes, putting the finishing touches on her dress; the old seamstress had offered her some comfort with her incessant babbling as she was waiting for Sesshomaru to join her. When he finally arrived, Asagi disappeared into thin air and the two spouses remained alone.

Slowly, Sesshomaru approached her, his eyes glued to her figure, more beautiful and graceful than ever, thanks to the kimono he had chosen for her. He extended a hand towards her, and Rin took it promptly; their eyes locked, and she read in his the admiration and love he felt for her. A thin smile graced his lips, and she was caught by the strong impulse of kissing him, but she didn't; she had been instructed not to ruin in any way the makeup that had been applied with such care.

For a while, they didn't speak, not that they needed it; their intense gazes were enough. Rin knew that most of the time she talked about for the both of them and that maybe Sesshomaru would continue to be a demon of few words decades from now. But she didn't care as long as he expressed everything he felt with those fiery and warm looks he reserved for her.

"You're beautiful, Rin." His words were soft, and the stillness of the room assured they reverberated through it even though they were whispered. For Rin, it had been as if he had shouted them. She closed her eyes in bliss and leaned in his touch when a hand raised to cup her cheek. The same hand moved then to her chin to lift her face. "Keep your head held high now that we enter the grand hall, mate. You are from now on the Lady of these lands."

"I won't disappoint you, my love," Rin told him with watery eyes, but she pushed back her tears. This was not the moment to be moved.

"You could never, Rin. You already are everything I wanted." He put her arm in his, and finally, they headed towards the hall. "Let's show everyone who my true mate is."

The doors opened in front of them, and Sesshomaru and Rin stayed on the doorstep for a couple of seconds; the shadows and their positions let them remain unseen until they decided so. This way, the dai-youkai had a moment to probe the several auras crowding the hall, trying to discern the sentiments.

Every murmur had stopped, but Sesshomaru knew that it wouldn't last. As soon as they would catch a whiff of Rin's scent, hell would break loose; it's not like her being human could go unnoticed for more than a couple of seconds, after all. He would give them a minute, maximum, to get out of their shock-induced-daze and then murmurs and shocked gasps would start.

They finally crossed the threshold, and just as Sesshomaru had predicted, the silence didn't last. He could hear everything they were saying; clearly, everyone was shocked Sesshomaru had decided to enter the hall with a human next to him. What did it mean? And the empty seat? Was it for her? What were his intentions? Why was there another human in their lands? He tightened his grip on Rin as she looked straight at the dais, her gaze never wandering off.

There, Kagome was smiling just for her, encouraging the girl and pouring out all the love and affection she felt. Rin felt her lips lift up in response automatically and her heart burst out from her chest. Next to her, with a similar grin, a little smugger, there was Inuyasha and the two little boys equally smiling. Under different circumstances, Rin was sure they would have been waving at her, calling her, but it seemed they had been trained for this kind of event because they were immobile and their joy at seeing her could only be discerned by the gleaming eyes and big smiles. Rin had never seen children so eager and giddy – well, apart from herself and Sango's children, of course.

Focusing just on her family on the other part of the hall, she managed to ignore every other voice or gaze that fell on her. That way, she kept her posture rigid, her head raised and a soft smile on her lips, radiating a joyous aura instead of being a nervous wreck. Her demeanour didn't go unnoticed, and everyone wondered what in the hell a smiling girl like her was doing next to Sesshomaru. Who didn't know their connection certainly was shocked by the contrast.

But, at that moment, no one could have intimidated her because she only focused on the good things in that room. There were no opponents or people who hated humans or half-breeds. There was just Rin and her mate, just her and her family. Erasing that genuine smile of hers would have been too difficult.

Inuyasha and Kagome, from their place, observed the way they walked, slowly and undaunted. The half-demon locked eyes with his brother and grinned: they had done it; he knew Rin was ready for her life there. Once she took her place in front of everyone, it would be easier.

Kagome was touched by the fortitude Rin was showing, and most of all, she was proud of the woman she had become. Certainly, the trials wouldn't lack either, but this was one big step that she had already passed with flying colours. She remembered well how nervous she had been when she had walked down that very hall for the first time, and she didn't think she had been so good, not at all. She felt her heart explode, knowing that she had contributed to that moment, that she had managed to help relieve Rin of some of her fears. Suddenly a clawed hand squeezed hers, and raising her eyes for a moment, she lost herself in twin golden pools. They intertwined their hands and went back to watch the couple making their entrance. They were almost at the dais, but it seemed it had been like hours from the moment the doors had been opened.

The change was drastic; there was no longer a trace of the curious, expectant faces that Inuyasha had observed upon entering the great hall.

Sesshomaru smirked – for most of them, it was the first time seeing that kind of smile on him – and raised the hand that currently held Rin's in front of everyone's eyes. They stayed like that for a couple of moments, giving everyone more time to assess the situation. He then turned to his mate, bringing the said hand to his lips to give it a feathery kiss; his eyes remained locked with Rin the whole time. More shocked gasps followed this open and warm gesture.

Sesshomaru was certainly having his fun.

Once they finally took their place, the dog demon nodded at Jaken to proceed.

"Lord and Ladies, Sesshomaru-sama and his family thank you for coming here today on short notice," the imp started. "Today, in a valley that has just risen after such an ignoble attack, it is with great joy that we announce the beginning of a new era that promises to be full of joy and success. Do not fear, demons and demonesses, because the West's enemies had been wiped out by the strong swords wielded by Sesshomaru-sama and Inuyasha-sama and everyone else who dares to strike will meet the same fate." His gaze met Tsubasa, and he would have bared his fangs if only he had had ones. Meanwhile, Inuyasha snorted at his speech. Of course, he said swords, as if Sesshomaru had been there to kill the enemy.

"Today, with great pleasure," Jaken spoke again, "we welcome the arrival of the new Lady of the West. We welcome here in these lands, for the first time, Rin-sama, true mate of Sesshomaru-sama."

Dropped the bomb, every doubt was gone.

Sesshomaru, the dog demon who had once condemned his father for taking a human as his mate and disown his brother for being the child born of that very union, had followed the late Inu-no-Taisho in his steps. He even had gone farther because, unlike his father, Sesshomaru had managed to bring his lover to the palace, letting her take her rightful place.

Sesshomaru, who used to hate humans, despised the very thought of one of them crossing his way. Sesshomaru had refused for decades and decades to take a mate because he said no one met his liking. Sesshomaru had made many believe that he would have continued to be mateless for still longer. The same Sesshomaru had just brought a human as his mate, but not just that; he had managed to form a true bond with her, showing every one of them how deep their connection ran. How could someone so cold and posed have formed such a bond with a human?

The few that after Toga's demise had been outraged by Sesshomaru's behaviour towards his infant brother watched him with disdain, not believing their eyes. Of course, they had rejoiced at seeing the two brothers finally ruling together, but they couldn't deny the hypocrisy the dog demon was now showing. How could Inuyasha be so quiet at this unexpected turn of events? Didn't he feel resentful? They watched in awe as the half-demon kept smiling and watching the human girl with the same affection he reserved for his own sons. They thought highly of him being there that day, supporting his brother for a difficult and important moment when the same brother had left him to fend for himself as a pup. What they didn't know, though, was how Inuyasha had reacted when he found out about Sesshomaru and Rin, nor how long it had taken to come to terms with the idea.

But despite all, Sesshomaru was one lucky guy because Inuyasha was many things, but not someone who could hold a grudge for long. It didn't matter how many times he pouted, frowned and shouted; it was all a show. In the end, he always overcame the bitter feelings.

Then there were the ones who had firmly opposed Inuyasha's return to West as heir. They thought half-demons shouldn't exist, so it was natural they hated interracial couples. Demons were meant to mate with demons, and humans should stay away, conducting their ephemeral lives. Most of them were enraged and disgusted, few still too shocked to even fathom any other emotion. Among the latter, Shou and his family. Maybe they would stay like that, immobile and incapable of speaking for the whole event so that Sesshomaru didn't have to cope with their shrieking. Tsubasa and her wingmen looked at the couple on the dais with disdain; they already knew he had mated with a human, after all, so they weren't shocked. They had reserved every energy to offer the new Lady spiteful and scornful looks.

Finally, there were another bunch of demons who had always followed Sesshomaru without doubts and shown him fealty. They were as much stunned by the idea that not only had he finally taken a mate but a human at that. These were the same that, at Inuyasha's return, had feared unknown consequences. Indeed, they were thinking along the same lines. What did it mean for the West? And with uncertainty came fear, a not entirely unknown feeling in the valley, along with grief and sadness. The unsuspected attack had had a toll on everyone, even if now everything had been reconstructed and brought back to life. No sword would have brought back the dead once the soul had left the body, though.

No one dared to approach them for some minutes after Jaken had finished talking. The silence had become more and more unbearable when finally the First Commander came forward.

He bowed low and offered a smile to his new Lady. "Sesshomaru-sama, on behalf of each commander of the Western army, I warmly welcome your mate and our new Lady." He then turned to her and added, "Rin-sama, I am sure you will guide us wisely next to your mate and that your addition to this court in this difficult moment for all of us will lift the spirits." He bowed a second time to her and then faced Sesshomaru again.

The dai-youkai held his gaze and then tilted his head in gratitude. "First Commander, your words are appreciated. My mate and I thank you. I am sure everyone in the Western Army shares your thoughts."

"As it should be, Sesshomaru-sama; you and your brother had always led us in the best way. This last battle only showed the force of your attacks and the strength of your mind. We will always be loyal to you and the Ladies."

Maybe, had Katsuro known the very reason for the attack on the valley, he would haven't thought the same. However, no one knew why Sesshomaru had left the valley, nor that he had led to the enemy's attack. Otherwise, Rin's presence would have been even less appreciated. Sure, it wasn't Sesshomaru's fault if someone wanted to overthrow him due to sheer envy or because of prejudices. But it was his duty as Inu-no-Taisho to assure the lands were always protected. Failing to warn Inuyasha, or even the First Commander, of his long absence, he had somehow caused the attack.

Inuyasha had been careful every time he had talked with Katsuro when Sesshomaru still had to come back, but in the end, it had been decided to say he had been absent to remove an extern threat.

"The West is lucky to have a Commander able to lead the army even in the direst situation. Your cold blood and astute mind had had a great part in defeating the enemy, First Commander," Inuyasha spoke up. "My brother and I would like to take advantage of the situation to honour all those soldiers and civilians who fought for this valley and who unfortunately perished. I was personally saddened by their passing as in these few years, I had the opportunity to know each of them. To every family who suffered a loss, know that they won't be forgotten, nor will be their courage."

Kagome squeezed his hands; she knew Inuyasha was being honest. The thought of all these people who had lost their lives because of Noboru's sick mind had really saddened him. Observing everyone's reaction, the miko was shocked to see the large number of heads bowing in acknowledgement and gratitude after Inuyasha's speech. Immediately after, Sesshomaru raised his hand to assure absolute silence in the fallens' honour.

The moment had just passed when a guard approached the dais; Inuyasha recognized him as the one who that very first day had tried to deny Kagome's access because she was a miko. During those years, he had never again shown contempt towards his family and accepted their roles.

Taro kneeled and bowed to them before speaking. "Sesshomaru-sama, Inuyasha-sama, on behalf of my family, I would like to thank you. I also take the opportunity to welcome our new Lady to the West." His brother had been much younger than him but strong enough to enter the army and train as a soldier. He had wanted to become Commander, but fate hadn't given him the possibility.

Inuyasha came closer and put a hand on his shoulder. "Stand up, Taro. Your brother wouldn't have wanted to see you like this. He was a strong warrior." The guard did as said and then tilted his head.

"Hn, Taro, my mate and I appreciate your words and share my brother's feelings concerning whoever has fallen," Sesshomaru agreed, meaning every word he said.

Everyone in the grand hall stopped for a moment, most of them touched by the gesture. Inuyasha reminded them of Toga-sama, who, during his long leadership, had always shown a compassionate heart, absent in the majority of demons because of their very nature. However, his youngest seemed to have inherited it, maybe because of his human half, even though he appeared gruff at first sight. However, those words uttered by Sesshomaru were equally enough; they were sincere even if few. It was something he would have never said a few years earlier.

If that was the change a human mate had caused in him, it was welcomed along with the new Lady.

But the peace wasn't meant to last long, and indeed, at the same time, both Tsubasa and Katashi came forward. Shifting his gaze to the old First Commander Daisuke's family, Sesshomaru noticed that Shou was still too stunned to utter a word. That was likely why the second brother had decided to step in.

The dai-youkai smirked; he was ready.

A/N: I like to think that sweet little Rin could do anything if supported by her family and loved ones. In this case, Inuyasha and Kagome had been her family throughout the years.

I hope you liked the chapter even if no blood has been spilt yet. Just wait for the next one.
