Chapter 6M
Northstar pulled out his pokemon, a Zigzagoon. Only knew Tackle, but the status attacks could also do a lot of harm.
May pulled out one finger, and Brendan pulled out three. Their pokemon responded, attacking with Pound and Water Gun respectively.
Zigzagoon cast Sand Attack, and as Treekip took the hit, he suddenly got knocked back heavily by something. May didn't know what had just happened. Her partner was hit, but there were no other pokemon around. The zigzagoon hadn't tried to tackle, so what could've hit Treekip?
May checked on Brendan, and saw that his starter had also been knocked back. This time though, there was a Poochyena that had used Tackle, and the Mudkip was blinded by something. She realized that her pokemon were also linked to Brendan's pokemon, and that the two strikes had carried through to them.
Thinking that the debuffs would carry through to the enemy too, May held out two fingers. Brendan decided to do that as well.
Zigzagoon used Tackle, and Treekip dodged to the side, barely missing.
As the Zigzagoon recovered from the dash, May held out one finger. Pound.
The combined strike between Brendan and May launched the opposing pokemon into a tree, and it fell down with swirling eyes.
Victory
Northstar clapped, saying that May did pretty good.
May smiled, and moved on through route 102
