Pipper pulled out and threw his pokeball, calling out a Poochyena. It seemed low level, but for a first battle, this would be tough
May pulled out one finger, and Brendan pulled out three. Their pokemon responded, attacking with Pound and Water Gun respectively.
Poochyena cast Tackle, charging at Mudkip at an alarming speed. Mudkip was about to dodge, but suddenly recoiled in suprise seconds before dodging, and took a hard blow. Both Brendan and his Treekip were shocked by the sudden blinding, and Brendan noticed that May's opponent had cast Sand Attack, which was probably what had blinded them.
As if they were thinking alike, both pulled out two fingers. The pokemon used Leer and Growl, quickly debuffing their foes.
Poochyena used Tackle again, dashing at Mudkip. As the Poochyena came close, Treekip jumped above.
One finger was held out for Mudkip. Tackle.
The combined power of the defence debuff and the tackle using gravity was enough to throw the Poochyena .
Victory
Pipper sighed, saying "That was a pretty good fight. Nice work!"
May smiled for Brendan, and the two moved on through route 102
