Chapter 11M
May found herself standing at the foot of the Petalburg gym. Her pokemon were all healed up, and (M)Radot had learned her strategy. She took a deep breath, smiled, and entered the gym.
May entered, and waved over to the man at the front desk. He seemed elderly, but still fit. He looked as though he could hold his own in a pokemon battle. May ran up and requested to enter the gym. "Hello sir, may I challenge the Petalburg gym?"
The man glanced over to her, and said "Sure, give me a second." He then got up and pulled a cord nearby.
May was pretty sure this was Norman, the old gym leader. There wasn't a name tag, so she couldn't tell. She decided to inquire about it. "Norman, right?"
The man turned to her and smiled, and said "Yes, that is my name. I'm assuming you're familiar with the gym, since you know me, but i'll tell you in case you don't remember."
"First off, your number of badges will change the difficulty of the gym. Currently you have no badges, so this gym'll be the easiest. After that, you will have to go through the gym's ace trainers while traversing the gym's specific gimmick. Here for the balance badge, you have to go through three groups of rooms. Behind me are two doors, labeled with the rooms specialty. The room labeled Recovery, for example, has a team that excels in healing. You only need to beat three to get to James, the leader, but you get more pokedollars if you beat more."
"Good luck, miss" said Norman, before turning away, letting May reach the doors. She quickly ran over to the doors, then examined them. The left door was labeled Speed and the right door was labeled Accuracy. She pulled out her phone and handed it off to Brendan, then whispered "I think i'll go for the accuracy room."
Brendan typed in "The left door, right?" May slowly whispered "No, it's the right door?"
Then, she realized that the two gyms might not be the same for them both, and looked at Brendan's sight. The door labels were inversed for Brendan, meaning that the two couldn't face the same fight.
"Personally, I'm ok with taking on the speed room. If you want the accuracy room, sure." May sighed with relief, able to choose the room she wanted. She headed over to the accuracy room, gripped the knob, and opened the door.
Authors note: Ok, gym 1 has begun. Also, Happy New Years! (It's happening today, in case somebody sees this a small while later and has no idea what i'm talking about.)
