Chapter 12B

Brendan stepped into the Speed room, and saw a guy in the middle. He glanced over, grabbed his pokeball, and walked up to Brendan.

"Hello, i'm Ace Trainer Randall. You're the challenger, correct?"

Brendan nodded, then felt himself ask "Can we begin?"

Ace Trainer Randall nodded, and tossed out a Skitty.

Brendan waited for a second to see if May would choose the pokemon, then grabbed the Radot pokeballs.

As (B)Radot came out, Brendan realized he had no clue what (B)Radot knew. Playing it safe, he held out a single finger. Before (B)Radot could even react however, the Skitty used Fake Out, knocking (B)Radot down. As (B)Radot got up, Brendan realized that (M)Radot had also been knocked down.

This time, Brendan held out two fingers. He presumed that a status move would be helpful to stop the Skitty.

Instead of a status move however, (B)Radot used Disarming Voice. She launched the Skitty away as it idly waited, and seemed to even recover some stamina from that. No time to ponder that, there was still a battle going on.

The enemy Skitty got up, and used Growl. That was ok, it didn't lower Special Attack. This happiness was quickly shattered however, as May had just told him that (B)Radot's physical defence was also lowered. Skitty wasn't a special damager, so this was going to be dangerous. Quickly, Brendan lowered one finger, leaving one out. Skitty used Tail Whip, and (B)Radot responded with Growl, lowering the power of Skitty. Deciding to risk it, Brendan held out four fingers. (B)Radot started to use Confusion. Powerful move, but it was too late. Before (B)Radot could properly use it, the Skitty rushed forwards, and tackled Skitty. Of course, it was the speed room. (B)Radot went flying into the far wall, and when the dust cleared, the telltale swirl eyes said that (B)Radot had fainted. May quickly recalled the Radots, and Brendan gripped the only other pokemon they had, the Treekips.

Three fingers were pulled out, calling for Water Gun. (B)Treekip blew Skitty into the wall, and swirly eyes appeared. Victory! Brendan heard himself whoop in joy, then saw himself recalling the Treekips. Knowing that they wouldn't last through the next fight, Brendan had to wait for May to ask to leave. Thankfully, she did.

"Can I leave to heal my pokemon?"

Randall simply said yes, saying that a rematch wasn't going to be needed, even if he left. Brendan quickly turned around, and ran to the pokemon center.

Authors note: Woohoo i'm back in the flow!

Also, apparently Brendan's a bit more popular than May. Can somebody tell me what's happening here?
