Chapter 8

Naruto's Secret Hideout

From the time that Naruto left the hideout, to go see the Hokage for his fuinjutsu lessons. Shisui has been practicing a new fighting style for a while now. He wanted to be able to defend his right side since his eye got ripped out by Danzo. Shisui wanted to have the ability to use his afterimage jutsu, using one handed seals instead of two hands. Freeing the other hand for defending in case of an attack, or going on the offensive attacking the enemy with a weapon. It became a difficult task to figure out how to create that same hand sign for his jutsu, finding the appropriate amount of chakra to be able to use the jutsu correctly. He began to train blindfolded by sharpening his senses, since he lost his eye, handicap him from fighting at full capabilities. Souly being dependent on the sharingan would be nothing but arrogant. It would lead a person to a quick death by overestimating one's abilities. He would greatly benefit by polishing his abilities from the training, leaving his sharingan as his trump card.

Sometime later when Shisui finished his training. He noticed that Naruto had not come back to the hideout. And was wondering what was taking him so long to get back. Knowing him he might be planning a prank on some poor soul that must have angered him. Shisui could only smirk at the thought of what type of devious plot he was putting together. He began to have a funny feeling that something happened today. But he was not sure if it was good or bad. He would have to find out if that brat got back to the hideout.

Shisui tried to anticipate all the threats that Naruto might be facing. Most people would be worried about being kidnapped from ninjas from other villages. But in Konoha, Naruto is a special case but in a bad way. Villagers and ninjas as well wouldn't hesitate to hurt or kill Naruto with their blind anger. So how did a S class secret leaked to the village that he is a jinchuriki. It was too convenient for the whole village to hate the child that was used to save the whole village from being destroyed by the Kyuubi.

Shisui suspicions led him to believe Danzo was the one that leaked the information. Ever since the attack and finding out he had a sharingan hidden behind his bandages. Heq would be able to use the sharingan to manipulate the civilian council and maybe even certain villagers with business to drive the child to the point of despair. That is when Danzo would appear in the picture to a desperate child to take him in and teach him everything he needs to know. All he would have to do is to show his undying loyalty to him. A child with no parents, no home, with no hope for a future, No one would care if he lives or dies. He would be taken in and turned into the weapon by Danzo. Who wouldn't hesitate to usurp the title of Hokage away from the Sandaime. And to plant his ideals to the next generation of ninja of Konoha. Erasing the teaching of the previous three Hokages. Shisui doesn't want to imagine that if that man ever became Hokage, he would then make Naruto into his unstoppable pawn, and by proxy the Kyuubi.

Shisui, who started to get hungry, slowly got off his bed and slowly made his way to the kitchen. He was able to make a cup of ramen while cutting up some fruits to eat. When he finished eating his meal, he quickly washed his bowl. Shisui went to check the time and to his surprise it was getting late, since Naruto still hasn't gotten back. Shisui began to get worried because this was not something he would do. Naruto would make an effort to come back to the hideout to let him know what was going on. He knew he had to be patient when it came to Naruto.

Shisui, in the meantime, decided not to think about it and tried to clear his mind. He began to recall how he was able to fake his death, deceiving everyone that was at the Naka river ravine. He was able to place a wide area genjutsu, with some flash bombs, paper bombs and a dead Root Anbu. He was barely able to get away with his life by luck.

Flashback

Shisui was running for his life since his Anbu commander betrayed him by taking his right eye. Hoping to make it to their rendezvous spot with Itachi he kept dodging the shuriken and kunai being thrown at him from different directions. While he was doing hit and run tactics so that the enemy wouldn't capture him or kill him. He would skillfully cripple the root ninjas that were hunting him. With his clever tactics and the use of Afterimages jutsu, Shisui was able to fend them off with no problem. When he finally reached the spot he knew that this would be the place where he would have to fake his own death. As he thought about how and where he would have to stay and live if not in Konoha. Guess he would figure it out when the time came.

He began to start his plan by using genjutsu on a large area around him to change the perception of the Root's Anbu. He will have to kill a few Root members to stall for time, since Itachi hasn't arrived yet. When the Root Anbu reached him Shisui quickly attacked them not leaving any chance for a counter attack to be made against him. He whispers his "Afterimages jutsu" for misdirection to commence his attack. Before the Anbu knew it they were being pressured by the Uchiha. Because three identical figures began to attack at the same time using three different attacks on each of the Anbu he was fighting. While one was slashing down with his tanto. Another was giving rapid horizontal attacks to make the opponent back off quickly. While the last Root member blocked a slash going upwards in an attempt on a surprise attack. Only for them to exchange quick sword strikes as no one got injured. Causing them to retreat for the meantime to see what would be his next strategy. Shisui kept moving around so his opponents would be able to locate him and take advantage with numbers. While he was attacking the Root Anbu he began to change his fighting pattern. When he saw his opportunity he quickly took the chance to surprise his opponent by stabbing his tanto through the back of the calf piercing through the anbu foot as well. A grunt was only heard when he received a shuriken to the back and side of the head killing the Anbu member. Shisui didn't hesitate to dispatch the Anbu, he quickly began to set up his death for everyone to witness it.

Two hidden Root members jump out to try to overwhelm him with numbers. They began to set up a formation to incapacitate the Uchiha, without killing him so they could bring back to their lord. They came up with a strategy that was good, two Anbu members would do a hit and run attack while the other would use either long distance jutsu or senbon needles with paralyzing poison. And they were working with good teamwork coordination, which made it hard for Shisui to get the upper hand on them. But in the end he just found it like a challenge to beat them and to bring his illusion into reality.

Shisui, threw a smoke bomb to take away the enemy's sight, he got on one knee and began to do hand signs firing off a fireball jutsu then he turned around and performed a multi-phoenix jutsu and hidden inside the flame shuriken with wires attached. So he could change the direction of his attack with a misdirection as well. He was able to hit one of the Anbu with his second attack, making him stagger in the process. As the rest of the squad got into a defensive position. This gave Shisui the time to use another jutsu and while root members were distracted .

"Lighting Style: Electromagnetic Murder." as he whispers when a stream of lightning current hits his injured target and catches another Anbu off guard. Reducing the fight force by two members as he uses his Afterimage jutsu to attack the other three members and in the process stabbing the other two in the heads. Then the rest of the hidden root members came out in full force trying to kill the Uchiha. During the entire time Shisui kept fighting with hit and run tactics and with Afterimage jutsu it kept the Anbu from out right overwhelming him. He was going to get multiple injuries all over his body. He was not sure if he was going to be able to finish his plan. When outside his senses he felt Itachi heading his way at full speed he knew right away that he needed to make sure that faking his death was going to be really difficult with Itachi being a genius he could figure it out. That's why Shisui was needed to trick and confuse the mind of Itachi to avoid him from finding him.

Shisui performed the shadow clone jutsu, when they puff into existence and knew actually what the original wanted for him to do. Since performing the jutsu made him lose a lot of chakra fast. The clone vanishes and waits for the right time for the original to make his move while sitting up the distraction. Shisui skillfully began to move the battle closer to the edge of the ravine where he was fending off his attackers while trying to stay alive. His clone setting up the misdirection set off a paper bomb. Causing the Root member to jump out of the way. Only for one of them to get caught and was held like a meat shield.

Now there were only enemies left as Shusui was surrounded and had nowhere to go when one of the Root Anbu spoke.

"Give yourself up. Danzo-sama still needs you alive to get the other eye you have on your person. You still have a purpose for being alive, it is your duty to Danzo-sama for you to procreate." Root Anbu said with no emotion.

"Yea, I don't think so. I'd rather die than to give Danzo my other eye or to make babies with random women. I still have my pride as an Uchiha and a member of Ninja of the Hidden Leaf." Shisui said when he saw the person he was waiting to strike down a Root member while the others threw their kunai with paper bombs wrapped on the handle. One hitting the ground close to his feet. The rest of the kunai hit their fellow Anbu. When all of a sudden another paper bomb was set off along with a smoke bomb. When finally Shisui was able to Kawarimi with his hidden shadow clone. The clone knowing what he had to do jumped into the ravine with his hostage, While the original began to make a five layer genjutsu and he set off another paper bomb and a flash bomb obstructing everyone sight. When the hostage blows up at the same time the other two explosions happen. At the same time the real Shisui was diving into the water when a rock hit him in the back of the head knocking him out. He sank out of view and was pulled away by the river. Leaving no trace of himself behind.

Flash back End

Shisui sucked in a deep breath when he decided to finally send a crow to find Naruto for him so he could get some peace of mind. The last thing he wanted was for someone from Root to probe his mind only to find out that he was still alive and plotting on how to kill Danzo. Shisui knew of the risk of him being discovered but it was a small price to pay on educating Naruto. He did a few hand seals when he said "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" A puff of smoke was made when a crow landed on Shisui's forearm, when he spoke.

"Go find Naruto-chan and lend me your eye so I can see everything." Shisui said and the crow nodded in response. He walked over to the dirt wall, made a tunnel with his earth jutsu wide enough for the crow to exit from the hidden home and began to fly away to find its objective.

Shisui only hoped that everything would be ok and that he had nothing to worry about as he went back to his room.

Somewhere in Land of Rice Paddies

When Itachi reported his findings a couple months ago, to the Hokage and the elders he knew that the Uchiha clan met its fate. And ever since then he has been having nightmares since he massacred the Uchiha clan. It also left him with many more questions as to why the Hokage changed his decision. He thought only the conspirators were the one to be eliminated. Leaving out any who were not aware of the crisis of a civil war to possibly back out, and protecting the innocent children. When Danzo approached him on the change of mission details telling him to eliminate the whole Uchiha clan except his younger brother. Itachi agreed without any hesitation, but in the back of his mind he felt something was off. And he intended to find out the truth, and in the end he was able to put the pieces together and found that Danzo set him up. He went before the Hokage for the answers he was looking for. The Hokage told Itachi that Danzo received a harsh punishment for deceiving mission details. Getting his current rank and position taken away from him and would no longer be able to involve himself in Konoha military affairs. He was also given a long-term S-rank mission on infiltrating a dangerous organization by gathering information and secretly sending it to Konoha. And in exchange the Hokage would look after and protect Sasuke from all enemies in and outside the village.

The other matter that was in Itachi's mind was his friend Izumi Uchiha. Ever since he was a child Itachi has always been socially awkward with the opposite sex. Thanks to the fangirls stalked him and chased him around, he chose to stay away from the female gender all together. The only ones he was ok around were his kaa-san, his aunt Kushina and his teammate Shinko and Izumi that was around the same age as him.

Itachi knew that true ninja shut off their emotions for the good of the mission. He couldn't not find it in himself to kill his friend Izumi. She felt the same as him when it was about the clan and because of that he was able to figure out the best time to strike the Uchiha down without worrying about killing her as well. That happened when her team was sent on a C rank mission out of the village. Making sure that the rest of the Uchiha were at the compound. He wanted to save his kaa-san as well since she would always stay neutral on the important matters. She never got involved when it came to being part of the coup d'etat. She was always in a difficult position being the clan head's wife. And didn't have any say in any of the important matters since the Uchiha elders forbated. The only thing he was thankful for was that fact he didn't have to kill his beloved kaa-san. He was not sure if he would be able to handle the despair in his heart. Only for him to a blank look with a I different attitude.

The other thing he did that he was not supposed to do was to tell anyone of his S rank mission. But after the betrayal of Danzo he thought maybe he should tell someone he trusted with the situation. He would like to have one person do his request in the village without it being illegal other than staying in commutation. He explained to her in a letter what he was going to be undertaking for the protection of Konoha; he decided to become a S-rank missing-nin. But by telling Izumi everything she would be able to watch Sasuke on his behalf. It gave him a little bit of peace of mind knowing that she would try her hard from letting him follow a dark path he laid out for him. He told her in the letter that he would keep in touch, whenever he knew was not being watched by any of the members of the organization he was in. He told her he would be watching from the shadows from time to time and would visit her if he were close to the village.

Then he thought of the last conversation he had with the Hokage before he left the village. And how he promised not to let anything happen to Sasuke as long as he is still around. As Itachi thought about the Hokage words he realized that if the Sandaime Hokage were to die. Sasuke would become vulnerable to inside and outside forces. Now that he was thinking about it clearly knew that duped him with his clever wording. But he never had to really worry about the Sandaime since he chose diplomacy over war.

That brings him to his next set of concerns, Danzo Shimura, a war hawk of the highest order. Doing illegal operations and assinassion missions all over the Elemental Nation. Danzo is a deplorable human being, by tricking Itachi into killing the whole Uchiha clan, when it should have been only the conspirators. Forcing a 13 year old to make an impossible decision he was easily using his weakness in his heart. After having some time to really think of everything made Itachi Uchiha somewhat bitter about the whole situation. By threatening Danzo to stay away from Sasuke or else he would reveal some of Konoha secrets to the other nations. And by letting the Sandaime know of Danzo performing unsanctioned operations. Itachi was able to find proof that Danzo from the shadows was involved in manipulate other villages, not counting his own civilian council as well. This made the young teen make a vow to himself that when he gets an opportunity he would finish off Danzo. Since the embodiment of an infection growing under the great tree.

Since joining the Akatsuki Itachi was able to gather valuable information to send back to the Hokage. But before he sent out his scroll with the report he wanted to go over what he had gathered. And split them into two categories. The first category "personnel" and the second category "undetermined"

Itachi from the beginning has been trying to figure out the mystery of this so-called Madara Uchiha. He knows for a fact, the person who recruited him into the Akatsuki, was the man that killed his teammate Tenma Izumo. Something that he would never forget for the rest of his life. Since that was the day that he awoke his sharingan, since he was able to make bonds with someone. And then he saw him again in the village while sculling around outside the Uchiha compound. And when he saw him for third time he asked the man for his help to kill the Uchiha clan. Surprised by the request, he agreed on the condition that he would join his organization. If the man claiming to be Madara, thought he would believe him. Then he knew the man was trying to manipulate him. He might know things that no other Uchiha might know. Did anyone think that Madara would have found a woman to bear him children when he left Konoha. There were many possibilities but it seems no one really asked the questions that need to be asked. The fact that his body frame looked like someone in their early twenties and did not resemble him in any way. He took his word with a grain of salt. Telling him that he was the true leader and the person that they met earlier was the figurehead of the organization. When he was accepted by the man's partner with the recommendation of the Madara imposter.

It's when Itachi's secondary mission began as a double agent to feed information to the leaf. In the hope to protect Konoha from all outside forces. And after listening to the leader Pein's goal to obtain peace, Itachi knew he would be able to fit in without any problem. Now he needed to gather information on the members since they were all S-rank missing-nin. At least most of the members looked like it would be easy enough to gather other than fake Madara, Pein and Konan. To Itachi's surprise finding out that Orochimaru was with the organization truly surprised him since he didn't look like the type of person to be held in check. Just like Orochimaru summons he is a snake who would stab you in the back, at the first chance he got. Itachi began to wonder what his true motives were with the Akatsuki. Only time will tell.

Pein, who is the leader and figurehead of the Akatsuki, is a S-rank ninja, a very intimidating and powerful man. Who does hesitate to eliminate a person or a threat. He looks around his late twenties early thirties from the looks of it he might have ocular jutsu. Highly intelligent, doesn't trust anyone in the organization except for Konan. In the meantime no known jutsu. His goal is to create a world of peace by creating pain.

Konan, who is Pein's partner, seems like they have a sort of familiarity with him. Konan looked to be around her late twenties early thirties. She is an attractive woman, who has a stoic demeanor. I was able to sense a good measure of power she was hiding. She is very intelligent and from the looks of it has a good understanding of tactics. From the looks of it when Itachi looked into her eyes. He was able to see many emotions, but the main one was distrust but not towards me but towards Madara. At the moment I haven't seen any personal jutsu or what elements she is able to use.

Kakuzu, Is a missing-nin from Takigakure. He is a very greedy and miserly individual. He would get a hold of his contacts along with Sasori, Pein, and Konan. And setup job that would gain the largest amount of profits for the organization. He heard a rumor that he once tried to assassinate the Shodai Hokage but failed. He is quick to anger and could become extremely violent. To the point he heard the rumor that he killed his last four partners. His excuse was "He was not fast enough to move out of the way of my attack."

Sarori, is a missing-nin from Sunagakure. And a former member of the Puppet Brigade. He became very impatient keeping people waiting when it came to doing business. He gets irritated if they make him wait longer than needed to the point he would use the person as a human experiment for his puppet jutsu. Itachi heard a rumor before joining Akatsuki, Konan offered him a chance to join but refused at first. She then made a counter offer if she would defeat him he would join. Itachi figured he knew the outcome of the battle. He is very powerful and is able to use all the elements.

Hidan, is a missing-nin from Yugakure and is immortal. He is a worshiper of a religion called Jashin. In Itachi opinion he use the act to commit murder for his pleasure. He carries a long three bladed scythe and a short metal spear. Hidan has a very foul-mouth, cursing every time he says a sentence and is a disrespectful individual. He is someone he would just flat out ignore and hope never to see again.

Last but not least Orochimaru was the one person he was surprised to see in the organization. Then again you could say that he is the Akatsuki's science and development scientist. No one really knows what his true motives are, so the leadership is on a wait and see policy. He did show great interest in Hidan, finding out that he of all people was granted the one thing Orochimaru has wanted for a long chance to live forever, so he would be able to learn every jutsu in the world.

He was partnered up with Juzo Biwa, a jonin from Kirigakure and a former member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. He is the wielder of the Kubikiribōchō and a very powerful ninja strong enough to be the Mizukage. He seems to be a very serious man who takes his occupation seriously. Tend to work well when it comes to teamwork to the point in making formation when in battles. In a way Itachi actually enjoys his company when he travels since he likes to talk while he likes to listen to his dry humor. He could only wonder what the future holds for the world only time will tell. Itachi mused to himself as he waited for his partner to rendezvous with him to finish their mission. And he took out a box of pocky and began to eat his favorite sweets with a small smile.

Konoha

The following morning when Naruto woke up, he fell off the couch. Not aware that he slept on the couch and as he began to remember everything that happened yesterday. He groans at the fact that his life is about to have dramatic change, since the Daimyo has gotten involved. He wanted for everything to stay the same. So he would be able to do as he pleased, since no one really paid attention to him. He got off the floor and went to his closet to get a pair of clean clothes he had hidden away. When Naruto opened the closet he got on his hands and knees when he began to pull up the floor board. Hidden there was a wooden box that had emergency clothes, money, an old tanto, a few kunai's, shuriken and ninja wire he found. He also had smoke bombs, flash bombs and chili pepper balloons. He kept them just in case of emergency, if he needed to get away. Naruto packed his things in his boxes so that later they would be easiest to bring back to their new place. When he was finished, he grabbed the clothes and went to take a quick shower.

When Naruto was done taking a shower he began to plan out what they were going to do in the morning. Before they had to go to the Uchiha compound to see the Uchiha Matriarch. But first things first he had to go wake up his cousin Karin, hopefully she won't get mad at him. Then tell her to go take a shower so they could go out to get some breakfast before they go to the Uchiha compound to see the Uchiha Matriarch.

Naruto slammed the door open and yelled out. "Karin-chan it's time to wake up! Don't make me go over there and tickle you awake you hear me!" He shouted trying to see if that would get her to wake up quicker.

Karin shrieked from the sudden way her cousin woke her up in such a rude manner. Naruto always had an impulse in pranking people couldn't help himself. She gave him a death glare for scaring her out of her skin and not letting her rest properly. Naruto, not knowing how to read the situation, had a good laugh on Karin's expanse. Embarrassed that her cousin scared her to the point she screamed. She vow to pay him back for pranking her in such a bad way.

"Naruto! That was not a very nice way to wake up a lost family member you first meet in your life. Most people would consider that to be a rude gesture to the point of bad manners. I guess I'm going to have to work with you in teaching you some manners and common sense, since you were an orphan. So don't worry about it and leave it to me. Since we are Uzumaki's we have to always help each other." Karin said as she grabbed her glasses from the night stand.

Naruto felt bad after Karin scolded him for pranking her and acting as if he didn't have any manners. Even though Shisui-sensei did so to the point of making it part of his training. But he had to act like an orphan that grew up in the slums of Konoha without any guidance. Sensei did tell him that a ninja's greatest weapon was deception. That is why he has to play the part of a fool. Till he gets permission from his sensei to be able to tell her. Before he is able to reveal the truth to her after they make sure that she is truly trust worthy. Not long after he was done with his thoughts his cousin Karin came out ready to go. Before they left the home Karin instructed him strongly on cleaning up after himself before leaving the home. That was an absolute rule. After a few minutes of lecturing Naruto they finally left for the Uchiha compound.

Not long after leaving their home, both their stomachs growl out. Naruto and Karin looked at one another. While one had a sheepish look the other was blushing in embarrassment.

"Karin-chan before we go see the Uchiha's. Let's get a quick bite to eat. The last thing we need is to be invited for breakfast if the Uchiha Matriarch hears our hungry bellies." Naruto said as he waited for Karin's response.

"Why yes, I think that would be for the best. Do you know of a place that we are able to eat at?" Karin said as she waited for an answer from her cousin.

"I sure do! It is the best food in the whole Elemental Nation! Naruto exclaimed as he fist pump and pointed at the direction he would guide them.

Naruto, now overly excited, reaches out and grabs Karin's hand and pulls her to the one place Naruto love's, Ichiraku Ramen. Once they got there Naruto was able to introduce Teuchi to Karin and quickly explained things to him. Once he was done telling him of all the important information. They were able to get their food and ate their food just as fast as they received it. When they were done eating they said their goodbyes. Naruto told Teuchi that they would stop by at another time to introduce Karin to Ayame. Then they left for the Uchiha Compound and to meet his godmother.

Some time later they reached the Uchiha compound and began to walk round hoping to run into someone so they could get some direction on how to get to the Uchiha Matriarch home. As they were wandering around an older woman spotted them and decided to ask them if they needed help with anything. Since Naruto and Karin were facing the other way they never saw her coming from behind them.

"Good morning you two, is there something I could help you with." Mari said as she walk closer to both children, so she would be able to speak to them

"Ah yes finally! Good morning I'm Naruto Uzumaki and this right here is my cousin Karin Uzumaki. We are here to visit Uchiha-sama. By chance do you know where she is living? I've never been there before and I was looking for someone to ask for directions." Naruto said while giving Mari-san a sheepish smile.

"Ah yes I know we're she lives, since I work at Uchiha-sama residence. Why don't you kids follow me? I'll guide you to the place." Mari said as she gave a smile to the kids and padded Naruto's head.

All three of them walked down the road as they looked around the Uchiha compound. As they realized how silent the place is. It gave off an eerie feeling of a haunted place, where monsters might jump out at you.

They were having a simple conversation getting to know one another. In a way they will be living in the same compound, so it only made sense to the young jinchuriki. Naruto was surprised that Kato-san didn't know who he was, since most of the village knew of his burden that was supposed to be a S-rank secret. But it was a welcome surprise and it made him a little happy. Not everyone in the village hated him. Not long after they arrived at the Uchiha Matriarch home. Kato-san asked Naruto and Karin to wait outside, till she informed the Uchiha Matriarch that they arrived. After a few minutes a beautiful woman came to the entrance while holding a baby in her arms. She had a smile on her face before she quieted down the newborn.

"Good morning Naruto-kun, Karin-chan, how are you two doing this morning?" The Matriarch asked as she began to burp the child in her arms.

"Good morning Uchiha-sama, we are doing just fine. We went to eat breakfast at Naruto-kun's favorite Ramen stand before coming here. We also kind of got lost on the way here, since we had never been in the Uchiha compound. Lucky for us we had Kato-san to guide us over here." Karin said while pushing her glasses up and trying to keep one her right side of her hair under control since it alway untidy.

"I see, guess I don't have to ask Kato-san to make something to eat for both of you since you'll already eaten. We still have to wait for my son Sasuke to finish eating his food, so we can go shopping for clothes and furniture for your new home. We have to get your kids ready for the new academy year. Since I'm your godmother and guardian I have to watch over you Naruto. And since Karin is a member of your clan she would be able to stay with you as well." The Uchiha matriarch said when she stopped paddling the child back when she heard the baby burp. Before she continued to speak again. "But first I have to get all the children in the household ready so we are able to leave. So come follow me and leave you sandals by the entrance." She reminded them as she began to walk inside the house, as they followed along.

When they walked in they were amazed to see how lively the house was this early in the morning. They saw Kato-san taking care of three newborns while two teen girls were taking care of the rest of the kids. They were told to sit on the couch and wait for her to get back. Once the Uchiha Matriarch left to get ready, not long after a boy came walking into the living room, having one of his eyebrows raised as if asking the question in his mind "Who the hell are these people in my house!"

"Hey! I'm Naruto Uzumaki from the Uzumaki clan. I just found out yesterday that Uchiha-sama is my godmother and was friends with my mother. She was given guardianship of me since it was written on my mother's will. Oh by the way this is my cousin Karin Uzumaki. I just found out that she is part of the Uzumaki clan.

Yesterday as well, I was told that we are going to be living in one of the houses here. We are going to have so much fun becoming a ninja together when we begin the academy. After we come back from the shopping trip me and Karin are going to be training. Do you wanna join us?" Naruto asked Sasuke as he scratched the back of his head feeling embarrassed.

"That only if we have time since we are going to be busy getting our new home organized." Karin interjected in case they are not able to keep the promise.

"Hn!" was going to be Sasuke's only response till he got whacked in the back of his head by a pretty girl with blueish white hair with black eyes and fair skin around the same age as them. Giving Sasuke a deadpan face as in daring him to give another one word syllable answer again. The only thing he did was scowl at the girl. He walked to the dining room past the rest of the children and sat furthest away from them. He began to eat his breakfast while brooding of a way to get more power. thinking of the best way to kill his brother. While the rest of the dining room was lively. Sasuke quickly ate his breakfast and went back to his room without saying another word. In the meantime the other three children introduced themselves.

"Hiya! I'm Aika. Nice to meet you. It's been a while since I've seen other kids around my age. So do you wanna play later when I'm done helping out here at Uchiha-sama home?" Aika said she was excited as she thought of all the fun things they would be able to do with some new friends.

"Hey there I'm Karin Uzumaki and this is my cousin Naruto Uzumaki from the Uzumaki clan. As for your invitation to play later on. We might have to reschedule some other time since we are leaving with Uchiha-sama, who happens to be Naruto-kun's godmother. We are going to be leaving on a shopping trip to get us clothes, ninja tools for the academy, food and furniture for our home. But later on in the evening if there is time we are going to do ninja training. So we could get a head start in the academy." Karin said while having an apologetic face.

"Ah I understand maybe then later I could join you if you are ok with that?" Aika said while having a hopeful expression on her face.

"We don't see any problem with that since we are going to be living here at the Uchiha compound. We could definitely practice taijutsu and weapon throwing." Naruto said but before he was able to continue the Uchiha matriarch appeared with her son Sasuke who looked to have an annoyed look on his face.

"Naruto-kun, Karin-chan let me introduce you to my son and heir of the Uchiha clan, Sasuke Uchiha. And that young wild flower over there her name is Aika Kato. You children met her mother earlier and later on you will meet her older sister Rin. They live here as well in the Uchiha compound." The Uchiha Matriarch said she turned towards her son and Aika-chan. Before she began to speak again to introduce the other two kids.

"Sasuke-chan, Aika-chan. This right here is my best friend's son, Naruto Uzumaki. And the girl that is with him is his cousin that is related to his mother Karin Uzumaki. I hope that all of you will be able to get along when you become adults. Ok Aika-chan go back and help out your mother with the children please. Since we are all ready we could start to head out to the village shopping district." The Matriarch told the kids as they began to put on their sandals before they left the home.

After leaving the Uchiha compound it took around half hour to make it to the shopping district. They quickly moved through the crowds when they finally made it to the first place they were going to shop at. In front of them was a well maintained weapon shop.

"Well kids let us all step inside and see what kind of ninja gear and weapons you would like to start to learn when you get older." The Uchiha matriarch showed them a beautiful smile.

"Alright! I hope I'm able to find the perfect ninja outfit for me. But choosing a weapon might be harder to pick than anything else." Naruto said to himself out loud, not noticing the wry smiles Karin and the Uchiha Matriarch were giving him. Sasuke on the other hand looked at him with a complicated expression on his face. As he thought, "is he really trying to become a ninja or is he just an idiot?"

"Naruto-kun, just to let you know that you wouldn't need a ninja outfit in the first three years of the academy. I'm going to be getting you three basic weapon kits with a weapon pouch and a kunai holster. And a first aid-kit as well in case there is a training accident. Anything else that we see there that you might like we will be able to get then." Mikoto told the young blond as his excitement vanished, hearing that he will not be getting his ninja outfit as he hoped.

When they entered the ninja weapon shop they were greeted by a burly man who was well built that was around his forties. He had a scar going across his face, with messy hair put up in a topknot. His appearance was dirty with black stains all over himself. From the looks of it he looks like he just finished working on a weapon not so long ago. He gave everyone a smile before greeting everyone.

"Welcome to Higurashi Shop. I'm Kento Higurashi. I'm sorry about my appearance. I was just taking a break from working on a weapon and came to put the shop in order. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask for my assistance. I'll be happy to answer them." Higurashi-san told his customers in the hopes that he would be able to get some sales out of this.

"Thank you for your consideration Higurashi-san."Mikoto gave a small bow before speaking again. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Mikoto Uchiha, the clan head of the Uchiha clan. I'm here to get the basic weapons and first aid kits for the academy students." Mikoto explained to the owner of the shop.

Kento was shocked to see the clan leader of the Uchiha clan was at his shop making a request for weapons. He knew that the Uchiha clan had their own weapon distributor that they personally went to. Since the massacre and the lack of Uchiha males. It didn't seem wise for the Uchiha clan leader to leave during these times. He heard rumors that there were few babies and kids that survived. Bonding her to the compound to protect what is left of her clan. So this was the perfect opportunity for his shop to get new business and maybe even a new backer ever since the fourth Hokage and his wife passed away. The weapon shop lost about forty percent of its business making his life and keeping the shop open much tougher. And during that time he never decided to save any money just in case something happened. Learning from his mistake and possibly getting a new opportunity he hoped to become their clan personal weapon shop in the future. He quickly bowed in respect when he heard the women say she was the clan leader of the Uchiha clan.

"My apologies Uchiha-sama I didn't recognize who you were. I will go collect everything you just asked for. Is there anything else you will be buying today or perhaps a special order?" Higurashi-san asked as he waited for his response.

"Yes I would like four orders of fishnet armor. Two for boys and two for girls please. I would like eleven pairs of ninja sandals. Let me get sixteen orders of training clothing anbu black please. Let's get a box of white wrappings as well. And a box of ninja wire and eight storage scrolls please. And whatever other items the children are going to want to get too." Mikoto told Higurashi-san, giving him a smile. While he was busy writing everything she was asking for down in a notebook.

"Ok then let me get everything together while you keep looking around with the children Uchiha-sama." Higurashi-san replied back.

"Yes thank you if we have any other questions I'll be sure to let you know." She said as she turned around and walked away looking around. He went off to gather everything he wrote down.

"Obasan would it be possible to get a tonto and senbon needles and fuinjutsu items to practice our calligraphy since both of us are Uzumaki's." Naruto asked with no kind of shame, while Karin had an apologetic look on her face.

"I don't see a problem with that. The only thing is that we might have to get calligraphy supplies somewhere else, because this is a weapon shop and they don't carry that type of supplies here, Naruto-kun. This will give kids an advantage when you get older and join your genin teams. I want to at least prepare all of you for your future.

"Uchiha-sama I have your order ready. Since your order was large I threw in four free storage scrolls for each member that you are buying for." Higurashi-san said as he turned around to get back to the counter. Everyone else followed him so Sasuke's mother could pay for everything. When they got there on the counter there were four scrolls waiting for them. Then the owner began to speak.

"Uchiha-sama here's everything you asked for. So the total amount is going to come out to 78,667 ryo." Higurashi-san said while the amount was not so surprising to the Uchiha matriarch and Sasuke. But Naruto and Karin almost passed out by the amount of ryo they just spent.

Once the amount was paid for they said their goodbye before they head for a clothing shop to get them their new clothes. The next few hours were spent going from shop to shop buying everything Naruto and Karin needed for themselves and their new home. Naruto and Sasuke experience a tiresome time following Sasuke's mother and Karin all day on this shopping trip. Both boys began to have an argument over their favorite food. They began to get louder and louder, while throwing insults at one another. Not long after, Sasuke's mother finally had enough of the two boys bickering before she took care of the problem. Naruto and Sasuke walked with their heads hung low after being scolded by Sasuke's mother. When they got to Yakiniku Q, the boys were ready to eat lunch after a long morning of shopping. When the group entered, a waitress quickly came out to greet them.

"Welcome to Yakiniku Q. How many people will be in your group?" The waitress said while giving them a smile.

"It's only going to be us. Thank you for asking." said the Uchiha matriarch as the waitress turned and began to take the group to their table. Once they reached the empty table the waitress said that she would give them a moment to look over the menu, and left to check on other customers. While the group began to decide what to get, sadly Yakiniku Q didn't serve ramen leaving a crestfallen Naruto in tears.

"Naruto, Karin, I hope that both of you were able to have fun and get the things you wanted. I hope for both of you to be able to enjoy living at the Uchiha compound. Maybe in the future when both of you get older you might be able to build your own compound. But for now let's make the best of it, and grow as a family." The Uchiha matriarch told both of the kids, while Sasuke waited silently for the food to arrive.

"Yes thank you very much Uchiha-sama. Me and Naruto-kun appreciate everything you are doing for us. We will make sure not to cause you any problems. Karin said, giving the Uchiha Matriarch a bow of her head.

"Obasan I'm already happy to know I have a family member from my clan to be alive. And I finally found out who my mother was. I'm thankful to know someone my mother trusted is still alive to at least give me and my cousin a place to live. Naruto said while having a big smile on his face.

"Well it makes me happy to hear that Naruto-kun. I hope by the time you, Karin and Sasuke graduate all three of you will become the best of friends. I just hope my Sasuke-chan will not let this tragedy affect him to the point of vengeance. It would lead him down a dark path." Sasuke's mom said as she spoke to the other two kids. Sasuke cried out in protest but his Kaasan knew how he has been feeling as of late.

"Kaasan, please don't tell them anything about me. I don't need them to know about my personal problems I've been having since the incident." Sasuke told his mother in a pleading manner for her not to share things about him.

"Fine, Fine Sasuke-chan I won't do anything to upset you." Sasuke's mother kisses him on his forehead, making him blush in embarrassment. When she saw the waitress come out with their food, letting them know they were about to eat.

After spending an hour at the restaurant the group finally left Yakiniku Q to go back to the Uchiha compound. Naruto and Karin needed to see their new home, and clean it before Sasuke's mother took out all the new furniture out of the storage scrolls. So they could begin to fix up the new place. While the Uchiha matriarch went back to her home to check on the children. Sasuke went to the back of his home to practice on his Katas and his shuriken jutsu. So he could continue to take out his frustration on not being strong enough. But he vowed in the future to become just as powerful as that man, but only time will tell.

Hokage Office

It was late into the night when the Hokage was working on his paperwork. He was startled when he heard the person that snuck into his office speak.

"Sensei, you must be having fun if you are here in the office so late still working on the paperwork. I would have thought you would be in your room reading your Icha Icha Paradise book while smoking your tobacco and drinking your tea before going to bed." Jiraiya said, teasing the old man for wasting his time doing paperwork so late.

"Jiraiya, So what do you think of this whole situation you heard at the council meeting the other day? And the Daimyo protection over Naruto-kun's well being." The Hokage asked his most faithful student.

"Ah sensei to be honest I wish you would have done that really. But I understand why you had to do that. The fact that Kushina had back up plans for Naruto guardianship at least was able to think ahead of the worst case scenario. I guess she didn't agree with Minato's decision with the announcement of Naruto being exposed to being the jinchuriki of the kyuubi. And since this happened she was able to have her last testament being read out in front of everyone leaving no room for arguments and to put the cherry on top was the fact I invited the Daimyo. Not evening knowing that fact that she was communicating with him was the real surprise, getting his backing and was able to cement her claims and rights of power over the Uzumaki clan. Taking it away from the council that has been using their money for many years since she passed away during the attack." The Hokage said as he took another puff of his pipe.

"Geez sensei this really did turn into a circus show. I still have to find Tsunade and give her the letter and the reason why she was not informed. Sensei, do you have a reason for giving me or should you take the blame for this part as well. Do you think my godson is going to be alright staying at the Uchiha compound?

"Jiraiya, I'll take full responsibility just to let her know that there were circumstances. Tell her that she has been ordered to return to the village, failure to do so will place her and her apprentice on the bingo book with large bounties on their heads. She would never be able to live in peace for the rest of their lives. If she tries to refuse, tell her to stop being so selfish in putting her apprentice in danger because of her. She might not be happy but try to give her the letter first if nothing convinces her to come back then do as I told you to do then. I'll take care of the fall out," The Hokage told his student, in a resigned manner and just waited for his fate.

"Okay sensei I'll go and find her then. Is there anything else you wanted to let me know about the whole situation with Naruto?" Jiraiya asked before he left the village.

Sarutobi thought for a moment before he remembered what he wanted to ask his student. "Jiraiya, will you be meeting Naruto-kun or are you still running away from your responsibilities? It wouldn't hurt for you to introduce yourself to him, so at least he knows who his godfather is. I have already told him that you are on a long term mission and you haven't been able to visit the village since the attack of the kyuubi. He is still young enough not to care about you not visiting him as long as you are able to give or maybe impress with something useful for him as he grows up." The Hokage said while smirking at his old student.

Jiraiya pondered for a moment what his sensei told him and then an idea came to him and knew if he would show his god son this jutsu and maybe teach it to him. And maybe in the future he would be able to take his god son to the hot springs and teach him about the wonderful world of adulthood.

"I'll meet him when I come back from the mission so me and Tsunade would be able to talk to him and get to know him together. It would be easiest that way there would be any problem. Since she is technically his great aunt she would probably want to meet him then since they are related by blood. Maybe things won't turn so bad when we get to talk to him." Jiraiya said as he rubbed his chin pondering if that would be the best solution for the moment.

"Don't see that as a bad idea Jiraiya. I don't have anything else to tell you so if you want you may go. Send me a messenger toad to let me know you are on your way with her. And to let me know how upset she might possibly be." The hokage said as he took a sip of his tea.

"You got it sensei now then I'm off then." Jiraiya said as he jumped out the window late into the night.

The Hokage only sighs to himself and he begins to finish off his paperwork late into the night. As he began to make a propane plan together to pass off the hat to someone worthy of becoming Hokage.

A/N: So far I have a clear idea to were I want the story to head. I'm definitely going to change the usual theme that most people have followed. As I continue to write this story I will be rewriting certain chapters to make the story sound better.
