Chapter 14B
Peter threw out his Zigzagoon, and Brendan gripped the Treekip pokeballs. Because of May's choice, he would have to face a pokemon that had unreducable stats, and also find a way to beat high defence.
He threw the pokeballs out, then planned for a second. He knew Growl wouldn't do anything, so it was either Tackle or Water Gun. Brendan chose Water Gun. Holding out three fingers to signal this, he hoped for the best.
(B)Treekip was able to fire off a water gun right into the face of the Zigzagoon, and knocked it down. As the Zigzagoon got up though, it rushed forwards and delivered a tackle. (B)Treekip was thrown away, but was able to get up. However, as he got up, he suddenly staggered to the side. Brendan was worried what happened, and checked what happened on May's side. He saw a sand attack strike (M)Treekip, just as (B)Treekip flinched again. Of course, the two conjoined strikes would disrupt May as well as Brendan.
Thinking quickly, Brendan decided to try again on the Water Gun. Again, (B) was able quickly fire off another spurt of water, sending the Zigzagoon down. However, (B)Treekip was soon forced against the ground, and the Zigzagoon looked to have already recovered from most of the strikes. Of course, thought Brendan. Of course we can't do much, it's too powerful. Brendan's mind raced, trying to figure out what to do next.
Brendan realized he couldn't do anything. Water Gun wouldn't do enough to beat the Zigzagoon before (B)Treekip went down. He shook his head, and looked at (B)Treekip, signaling to do whatever he could. (B)Treekip rushed forwards, and readied a strike in its feet. (B)Treekip caught a sudden burst of speed, and as he reached his opponent, he pounded the Zigzagoon into the wall. Brendan checked the pokedex, and realized that (B)Treekip had used Brick Break. A fighting type move, it would be super effective against this gym.
As the dust finally cleared around the impact of the Zigzagoon, it was clear that it had fainted. Brendan had won. He left May ask if they could leave, then walked out.
Authors note: Yay I got another one out! Only took 4 days!
