Diaz had gone up to the roof with Buck, thinking this was going to be a quick thing. All they had to do was save a window washer. The others were on the ground, waiting for them with the airbag. Buck had not been feeling hot that day, and none of the others knew that. When he had repelled halfway down the building, he had gotten dizzy. But he powered through it, until he got to the window washer that is. His head was pounding, his vision going blurry. He had just got the window washer attached to his harness, when everything went black. Diaz had been watching every move he was making, and then he saw Buck go limp. "BUCK!" he yelled.

"Cap, we need an extra set of hands up here." he said into his radio. "Diaz, this is what I want you to do, I want you to untie Buck's harness and let him drop." Bobby said. "But Cap, won't that hurt the window washer since he's already attached to Buck's harness?" Diaz questioned. "Ok, scratch that plan: I'm going to send Chimney up with the other harness, I want you to undo Buck from the window washer and let the window washer fall, and I want you to attach Buck to your harness and I'll have Chim pull you up. I've already called another ambulance for the window washer." Bobby said. "10-4" Diaz said.

About 5 minutes later, Chim finally came with the other harness. They tied it onto the other pole within 15 minutes. Diaz then put on the helmet and started to repel down. Once he reached Buck, he undid the harness from the window washer. The window washer then fell, so Diaz then attached the harness to Buck's. He then felt for a pulse, it was there but weak. "Hey Cap, Buck's pulse is weak. His breathing is shallow." Diaz said. "Chim, pull me up!" he yelled. Chim then pulled, and pulled until Diaz was finally up on the roof with the limp Buck. "Cap, we need the backboard." Chim said into his radio, while Diaz was undoing the harness off him and Buck both and putting them in their right bags. Hen then came up with the backboard and medical bag.

She grabbed the C-collar out of the bag and put it around Buck's neck. Diaz then took off his gloves and felt Buck's forehead. "Hen, he's burning up." he said. Diaz then took off Buck's gloves, and put them with Buck's fire coat. He then cut Buck's shirt open, so Chim could attach the leads from the monitor. Once they were attached, he turned the monitor on. "Ok, his BP is 90/70, Sats are 85, Heart rate is 130." Chim said. "What's his body temp?" Hen asked. "101." Chim said. "Everything is normal, except for his temperature." Chim said.

"We need to try and rouse him, I can call Maddie and tell her to come pick him up and take him to his place, and then I can go later and watch him." Diaz said. He then got on his hands and knees and rubbed Buck's sternum. "Buck, can you hear me?" he said, while still rubbing the sternum. After 3 attempts, Buck finally came to. "W-hat the heck happened?" he said, groaning. "You passed out, you were trying to get someone off the side of the building." Diaz said. Buck then tried to move, but Hen held him back. "Stop right there. Eddie's calling Maddie to come pick you up, Bobby won't let you work like this." Hen said.

Hen then took off the neck brace, because she wanted to put it on just in case, and she also took the monitors off. Diaz had been off to the side, trying to get a hold of Maddie. After the 2nd attempt, she finally picked up her phone. "Eddie? What's wrong?" she said. "Maddie, it's Buck. He passed out when he was repelling down to get a window washer. He's awake right now, but he's got a temperature of 101, I was thinking maybe you can come and get him because we both know that Bobby won't let him work like this." Diaz said. "Bobby definitely won't let him work like that. Let me talk to Josh and see if I can take off for about 2 hours. I'll be there soon, I already know where you are at." she said. "Ok, you can stay with him for 2 hours, and then go back to work and then I can go by after shift because we get off in like 3 hours." he said, looking at his watch.

"That'll work." she said. "Thank you Maddie, I wanted to take him home myself but I don't have all my stuff with me or else I would." he said. "Eddie, you always know I can help. It's no problem." she said. "Alright, I'll see you when you get here." he said. He then hung up and put his phone away and walked back to where the others were. "Maddie's on her way, now; how are you doing Buck?" he asked. "Like I got hit by a damn truck with this pounding headache." Buck said. "Let's get you down to the truck, is that alright with you?" Hen asked. "Yeah, I guess." Buck said, his voice hoarse. He then sat up with the help of Diaz and Chim. Diaz then grabbed his fire coat and then put it on. He then grabbed Buck's and then put it over Buck's shoulder.

Hen grabbed the backboard and the medical bag, along with the harnesses and hoisted them over her shoulder. Diaz and Chim then lifted Buck up under his arms and started to walk. They were lucky this building had an elevator, they didn't want to risk Buck falling down stairs. Once they got to the bottom level, they started walking towards the truck. It had taken them at least 5 minutes for them to get down because the elevator was slow. Bobby then noticed that Buck was awake but once Diaz and Chim sat him on the runner of the truck, Diaz walked over and talked to Bobby. "Cap, he's got a temperature of 101 last time the monitor said, I've already called Maddie and she's on her way. Me and you both know that he can't work like this. He's got a pounding headache, but I think he's got a sore throat as well based on his voice." Diaz said. "I won't let him work like that. He needs rest and fluids. Ask Hen if she can send Buck home with at least 3 IV kits ." Bobby said.

"And Cap, I was wondering if I could take off for at least a couple days, I've known Buck long enough to know that he's stubborn." Diaz said. "Diaz, take all the time you need. You know that." Bobby said, resting a reassuring hand on Diaz's shoulder. Diaz then nodded his head and then walked over to where Hen was. "Hey Hen, Cap wanted me to ask you if you can send Buck home with at least 3 IV bags, I think he doesn't want to risk Buck getting dehydrated." Diaz said. "Yeah, I'll get them out whenever Maddie comes. It won't hurt the supply any." she said. "And another thing, did you notice his voice was not the normal sound it was?" he said. "Yeah, he's probably got a sore throat." she said. Chim had been sitting on the back of the truck with Buck, making sure he didn't fall forward because when they were walking down the stairs, Buck had said he was dizzy.

30 minutes later, Maddie had pulled up. Hen grabbed the 3 IV kits out and walked over to Maddie. "Bobby wants me to give you these. He wants to make sure Buck's hydrated because we all know by now that he's stubborn. Eddie said he would take off because he wants someone there to keep an eye on Buck." Hen said, handing Maddie the IV's. "Has he complained of any pain at all?" Maddie asked, while setting the IV kits in the backseat. "Eddie said he thinks Buck's got a sore throat, because his voice was hoarse. And he's also dizzy." Hen said. Diaz then walked over to where Chim was with Buck. "Ready to go Buck?" he asked, squatting down to get on Buck's eye level. Diaz then noticed Buck was pale. "Buck, are you okay?" he asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. Damn headache is giving a run for my money." he said. "Are you still dizzy or not? I want to see if you can walk on your own." Chim said. He then stood, with the help of Diaz and Chim. He had then fallen forward a little.

"Yeah, I'm definitely still dizzy." he said, his voice still hoarse. They started walking towards Maddie's car, where she had the door open waiting for him. She knew he was sick, he was pale. Once Buck was in the car, Maddie shut the door. "I'll probably stop by the store on the way to his place to get stuff he'll probably need because I know he doesn't have a thermometer in the house." she said. "You sure you can get him in the house yourself?" Diaz asked. "Yeah, you said you're coming over after shift right?" she asked. "Yeah, I'll be over in 3 hours." he said. Maddie then got in the car herself and drove off. They all then walked to the fire truck and Diaz put the harnesses back in their original spots and then got in the truck himself.

Meanwhile, Maddie was driving towards Buck's place. He had fallen asleep in the seat and Maddie was driving until she reached the store that was close to Buck's place. She had left Buck in the car because she knew that he was tired and was always sleeping when he was sick. She then grabbed everything that Buck would possibly need while he's sick. She then walked out to the car, and out the groceries in the back seat, she had then decided to put the IV bags in one of the smaller bags because she wanted to keep them together with the groceries. 5 minutes later, she pulled up to Buck's place. Now came the hard part, trying to wake him. "Buck, come on let's get you inside." she said, shaking him. He then moaned, and then opened his eyes, and then rubbed his head because he still had the headache.

"Do you need help getting inside?" she asked. "A little, damn headache hurts like hell." he said. "Alright, let's get inside and get you in bed." she said, getting out. She then walked over to the passenger seat and opened the door. Buck then turned to where Maddie could help him. She then helped him stand up slowly. He then leaned onto her and they started to walk. Maddie was lucky Buck had given her a key to his house, along with Eddie. She then unlocked the door and then walked in, with the sick Buck. He had no stairs in his house, he didn't want any. She then turned the lights on in his bedroom. She had a tight hold of him until she sat him on his bed. She then took off his shoes and socks, with his socks going in the laundry and his boots going where they normally would go. "Do you want me to help you get dressed?" she asked. "No, I'll get it." he said. "But, I'll get the clothes and then leave you alone to get dressed." she said. She then walked into the closet and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and one of his fire shirts. She then walked out of the closet and then handed them to Buck.

"Now, if you need me. I'll be putting the groceries away." she said. He then nodded his head in agreement and then slowly stood up without getting dizzy. She then walked outside to get the groceries out of the car. She then set every paper bag on the counter and then started putting everything away. She left the IV kits out because she wanted them at room temperature. She then walked back in the bedroom to check on Buck. She then walked into him, under the covers hiding his head. "Buck you okay?" she asked. "My head hurts and the light isn't helping any." he said. "Do you want me to close the curtains and shut the lights off?" she said, now sitting on the edge of the bed. "Yeah, it'll help some." he said. "Alright." she said.

She then got up and then walked to turn the lights off. He then lifted the covers from over his head and then turned onto his side. She then walked back over to him and crouched down. "Do you want a couple tylenol to take?" she asked. He then shook his head yes. She then walked into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge and then grabbed the tylenol out of the cabinet. She then poured two pills out and put them in her hand. She then walked back into the bedroom with them. He then sat up a little and she handed him the water bottle and the pills. He then popped them in his mouth and then opened the water and swallowed them.

He then sat the water bottle on the nightstand and laid back down. She had noticed that he put his keys and phone on the nightstand as well. "Now, you get rest. I think you'll still be sleeping by the time Eddie comes. I need to get back to work, get some rest." she said. She then stood up and walked out of the bedroom, quietly shutting the door, she wanted Buck to at least sleep some. She then grabbed her keys and phone off the counter and walked out the door, locking it on her way out. She then pulled up Diaz's phone number, and called him. Diaz was working on one of the trucks when he heard his phone ring.

He then stood up and saw that it was Maddie calling him. "Maddie, what's up? Did you have any problems?" he asked. "No, just leaving his house now. I locked the door so you might have to unlock it when you get over there. And, don't turn the lights on if you go in his room. He said his head hurts more if the lights are on. I already gave him tylenol about 30 minutes ago, so he doesn't have to take anymore until 1030 at the most. He was on the verge of sleep when I left so he might still be asleep when you get over there." she said. "Alright, I'll work with that. I'll probably insert one of the IV's when I get over there. I'll have to get tape and gauze out of the ambulance though, or does Buck have some over there?" he asked.

"I think he doesn't have any over there, but you might have to take some just in case he doesn't." she said. "Alright, I'll bring some just in case." he said. The bells then went, "Maddie, I gotta go. I'll text you if anything happens." he said. "Alright." she said. He then hung up the phone and then got in the truck. She had then arrived back at work, right to her dispatch station. An hour went by fast, when Diaz was getting ready to leave he spotted Hen. "Hey Hen, you have any extras on tape and gauze?" he asked. "I should why?" she asked. "Whenever I get over to Buck's I'll probably insert one of the IV's and I don't know if he has tape and gauze over there or not. Maddie said I should take some just in case." he said.

She then opened the ambulance and hopped in and grabbed out the medical bag. She then rummaged through it. Until she found an extra roll of gauze and then extra tape. "Here, I think I always keep 4 rolls of tape and gauze in here." she said, handing him the tape and gauze. "Hen look, I know this isn't needed but we all have to keep an eye on Buck." he said. "We always have to, he's always getting into trouble somewhere." she said. She then put the bag back where it was and hopped down and closed the door. Diaz then put the gauze and tape in his coat pocket and walked out. He put his bag in the backseat of his truck and then got in the front and drove to Buck's. Once he pulled in the driveway, he parked his truck and then got out. He then grabbed Buck's other spare house key off his keychain.

He then opened the door, and walked in. He then walked into the kitchen and sat the gauze and tape on the counter, along with his keys. He then decided to check and see if Buck was still sleeping. He then opened the door quietly and noticed that Buck was still asleep. He was debating whether to wake him up. But then he decided not to wake him up and let him sleep because he knew that Buck always slept whenever he was sick. He then shut the door quietly and walked back into the living room. He then sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. 3 hours had passed, he wanted to check on Buck again. He then walked into the bedroom and then walked over to him. He knew it had been awhile since they checked his temp so he walked out and into the kitchen and grabbed the thermometer that Maddie had left out so that it would be easier to find it.

He then walked back into the bedroom and then turned the thermometer on. He then ran it over Buck's head, without waking him up. He then looked at the thermometer, it read 104.3; worse than it was when they checked it last. He then thought, "IV now or later?" but he didn't want to risk Buck getting dehydrated. He had to rouse him, so he could cooperate getting the IV being put in. He then pulled the covers off the sleeping Buck. "Buck, come on. Time to get up." he said. Buck then started to moan, he then said, "What the hell Eddie? What do you want?" "Your temp's 104.3, I need to get an IV in you." Diaz said. "The hell? You don't even have one." Buck said, his voice still sounding hoarse. "The hell I do, Bobby told me to tell Hen to give Maddie 3 IV kits to send home with you." Diaz said.

Diaz then walked out again and to the kitchen again to put the thermometer back and then grab the IV and the gauze and tape. He then walked back into the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed. "Before I do anything, Do you still have the headache?" he asked. Buck then sat up a little, wincing a little without Diaz noticing. He was dizzy a little bit but it wasn't bad. "It's not bad, but I can manage with the lights on for just a second." he said. "Alright, I just wanted to make sure because Maddie said the lights made your headache worse." Diaz said. He then got up and turned the lights on. Buck then held his left arm out, since it was the one closest to Diaz. Diaz then grabbed the alcohol cleanser and rubbed his hands with it. Buck knew the drill and positioned his arm to a comfortable position. Diaz then identified a vein and put the tourniquet and tied it around Buck's arm tight to Buck's liking, and rechecked again. He then put gloves on, wishing that there weren't gloves involved with the kit.

He then rubbed Buck's arm with the alcohol wipe, with Buck watching his every move. He removed the needle cover off the cannula and stretched Buck's skin. Buck had also known that IVs hurt like hell, with him having plenty in the past. He then went about a 30 degree angle, until the blood was seen. He then saw the blood showing so he progressed the cannula a further 2 mm, then he fixed the needle, advancing the cannula more. He released the tourniquet, then applying pressure to the vein at the tip, removing the needle fully. He then removed the cap from the needle, and put it at the end of the cannula. He then threw the needle away.

He grabbed the gauze and ripped a piece off. He then put it over the cannula to ensure it was in place, Buck then nodded that he had it in the right place. He then took the gloves off and threw them in the trash. He then hung the bag on Buck's bedpost. "Are you comfortable enough?" he then asked. "I am, now; let me sleep." Buck said. "Ok, I will." Diaz said. "Do you want the light off again?" he then asked. "It doesn't matter, my headaches are fine for now." Buck said. "Ok then." Diaz said. He then decided to shut the light off on his way out. Buck then shifted to where he could lay comfortably with the IV. Diaz then sat down on the couch again and then thought, "Buck was a little pale still. He's probably worse off than he thinks he is." 3 more hours had passed, it was 1030 by now but he wanted to check on Buck and see if he wanted to take more tylenol.

He grabbed the bottle of tylenol off the counter just in case he wanted to take some, but what he didn't know was that things then took a turn for the worst. He then opened the door and then turned on the light. He noticed Buck was now laying down, sleeping or that was what he thought he was doing. He then pulled the covers off Buck, he noticed sweat was drenched on Buck's shirt. He set the tylenol on the nightstand and went out and grabbed the thermometer. He then ran it over Buck's head, it then beeped. It now read 105.2. He then opened his eyes, he knew a 105 temperature was dangerous. He then went out in the kitchen again but this time to grab a bowl so he could get water and the cloth out of the bathroom.

Once he got the water and the cloth, he sat it on the nightstand, moving Buck's phone and keys along with the thermometer, to the drawer. He then dipped the cloth in the cold water, then putting it on Buck's forehead to see if the temperature cooled down. He then heard Buck moan, that's when he knew Buck was getting delirious. He then left the bowl of water, sat there and then went back out in the living room, but this time leaving the light on. He then fell asleep, that next morning he then decided to check on Buck again. He then grabbed the thermometer and then soaked the cloth in water again. Buck's temperature now read 105.3.

Buck was still delirious, Diaz had enough. He knew that he couldn't get Buck in his truck on his own. He then went and grabbed his phone and a saline bag off the counter. He then dialed 911, while he was removing the saline bag to a new one, But what he didn't know was that Maddie would be the one answering. "9-1-1 what's your emergency?" she said. That's when Diaz froze, he didn't know what to say. "Maddie, it's Eddie. It's your brother. I need the paramedics dispatched to his place. He's unconscious, breathing is shallow, he's pale and has a temperature of 105.3. He's delirious." he said.

"Is he lying still or is he moving around?" she asked. "He's laying still as of right now, but I don't know if that'll change." he said. "Eddie, I'm getting units dispatched your way give me a second." she said. She then put Diaz on hold, switching to where she could page out the paramedics. She knew that Bobby and the others were closest and that they were on shift already. Meanwhile, they were all eating breakfast; until they heard the bells. They all then got up and ran to the truck. "Dispatch to 118, RP is a first responder and advises the patient is a 27 year old male, unconscious with a fever of 105.3. Breathing is shallow, pale in color, no response to painful stimuli." Maddie said.

"118 to Dispatch we receive." Bobby said. Meanwhile, Diaz was getting the covers off of Buck, and then he heard Maddie's voice again. "Eddie, 118 is headed your way, how's he doing." she said. "He's still unresponsive, I came in here around 10:30 last night seeing if he wanted anymore tylenol; and that's when I found him, drenched in sweat and having a fever of 105.2. I put a cold cloth on him last night and then went to bed myself. And this morning his temp rose a degree." he said. He then heard Buck groan again, but then he stopped. And that's when he saw the blue tinted lips. "Damn it Maddie, his lips are turning blue." he said, feeling for a pulse. And that is when everything took another turn. "And he has no pulse." he said, now doing chest compressions. He then moved Buck to the floor, along with the IV. "118 is another 5 minutes out. Let me update them." she said. She then placed Diaz on hold again.

"Dispatch to 118, be advised RP is administering CPR at this time." she said. "118 to Dispatch, 10-4." Bobby said. They then sped up, when they got on scene; Bobby noticed the familiar truck sitting in the driveway. Diaz then heard the sirens from inside, "Maddie they're here, I'll update you later." he said. He then hung up the phone and went to unlock the door and then went back to the bedroom. Meanwhile Hen and Chim were grabbing the medical bag and equipment out, along with the backboard. "Hurry up guys it's Buck." Bobby said. Once everything they needed was grabbed they ran inside.

Bobby then opened the door, as he was putting his gloves on. "Diaz, where are you?" he said. "In here!" Diaz yelled. They then ran into the bedroom, where they still saw Diaz still doing chest compressions. Hen didn't waste any time, she grabbed the scissors and cut Buck's shirt open. Diaz then handed compressions to Bobby while he put on gloves. Chim then put on the leads onto Buck's chest. Diaz then started bagging, while Hen set up another IV. "He's in Vfib." Chim announced. Hen then grabbed the pads, and put them in their designated spots on Buck's chest. "Charging to 200." she announced. "Clear." she then said. Everyone then got back, and Buck's limp body jolted with the shock. They all then heard the beep of the monitor.

Chim then looked at the monitor, "His BP is 90/60, heart rate is 150, Sats in mid 60's and falling. Body temperature is reading 105.4." he announced. "Diaz, grab the intubation kit." Hen said. He then reached into the bag and grabbed the kit and then switched places from where Bobby was. He then tore the kit open and then tilted Buck's head back and Bobby handed him the tube and the laryngoscope. Once he was in, he attached the bag and started pumping.

Bobby then knew Hen was ready to transport by the look on her face, they all knew Buck was pale and they wanted to get him to the hospital ASAP. He then brought the backboard in from the living room and sat it on the floor. Everything was on Buck's left side, so Bobby sat the board on his right. With the help of Hen, they both shifted the monitor and the IV's over, along moving Buck over so they could have a little room. Chim and Bobby rolled Buck over while Hen slid the backboard underneath him.

Once Buck was on the backboard, they had to put the monitor and the IV's on top of him, somewhere. "Let's do it this way, put the IV bags in between his legs and then one of us carries the monitor." Hen said. "Alright, I agree with that." Chim said. She then put the IV bags in between Buck's legs and then Chim carried the monitor along with the medical bag. Bobby ran to the front door and opened it and ran outside to open the ambulance doors and brought the stretcher down, so it'll be easier.

He then ran back inside so he could help carry the backboard. They all then lifted on the count of 3. Once they lifted, they started moving towards the front door. Diaz was still pumping and then Hen got in the back once they got Buck onto the stretcher. Bobby had already called ahead and told the hospital that they were bringing someone in. Chim got in the front and drove off, lights and sirens.

30 minutes later, Chim pulled up to the hospital where a doctor and a couple of nurses were waiting. He then hopped out and then pulled the foot of the stretcher out. "27 year old male, hypotensive enroute. Shocked once on scene, intubated on scene. BP 90/60, Heart rate 150." Hen said. "We're going to Bay 20." the nurse said. They then wheeled away, with Diaz handing the bagging over to the other nurse.

He then stood there outside until either Chim and Hen came outside or whenever Bobby showed up. 5 minutes later, Chim walked outside; along with Hen. "Did you hear anything?" he asked. "The doctor thinks it's a heat stroke but they have to run further tests to see if it is or not." Hen said. "Damn, I didn't know it would get this bad. He was fine at 8:30 and then 2 hours later he's got a 105.3 and then ends up in the hospital." Diaz said.

]

"It's Buck for you, he's stubborn and tells you he's fine when he's never." Chim said. "That's true there." Hen chuckled. "Hold on, I'll be right back. I need to update Maddie since she was the one that unexpectedly answered the 911 call." Diaz said. He then pulled out his phone and stepped to the side. He then found her contact and called it. She then heard her phone ring when she was in the break room. "Eddie, how is he?" she asked. "I don't know, we're still waiting to see what the doctor says but the doctor suspects he had a heat stroke. I'll know more later whenever the doctor updates us all." he said. '

"Eddie, please update me whenever you hear one thing. You're the only one keeping me updated and I'm getting off track at work." she said. "Maddie, do this. Talk to Josh and see if you can get the rest of the day off and then come here. I know you want to be here; just take the rest of the day and then you'll be here for Buck, we all are and you know that." he said. "Eddie, thank you for everything; I know you know you don't have to do this. But you always want to help." she said.

"Maddie, you know the firefighter family is always here for you and Buck; 24/7." he said. "Ok, I'll talk to Josh about getting the rest of the day. I'll be there soon; give me maybe an hour." she said. "Ok, see you soon." he said. He then hung up the phone and then went inside, where Chim and Hen were. He then found them in the waiting room and then took a chair. "Maddie on her way?" Hen asked. "She will be once she talks to Josh about giving her the rest of the day. She said give her an hour." Diaz said. He then took a deep breath, preparing for the wait they would have.

Bobby then showed 30 minutes later, he had to finish up paperwork and then decided to give everyone the rest of the shift off. Diaz was the only one that had the shift off today besides Buck. An hour later like she said, Maddie showed up. Bobby then immediately stood up and gave her a hug, everyone did. She then took a chair next to Diaz. It had been 2 hours since they brought Buck in, everyone was starting to get impatient. An hour later, the doctor then came out.

"My assumption was right. He did have a heat stroke. I've placed him on a medication that relaxes his muscles called benzodiazepine due to him shivering when he came in. We're also currently trying to cool him down. And he is in a coma." the doctor said. "So this all means he's in the ICU?" Maddie asked. "Correct, due to his condition I have placed him in the ICU." the doctor said.

"Can we see him?" Hen asked. "Yes, you can. Just follow me." the doctor said. Maddie then knew by Diaz's looks that he was wanting to stay with Buck. "Hey Bobby, we'll catch up with you in a moment." she said. "Alright." he said. Bobby then walked away with Chim and Hen to the ICU. "Eddie, are you okay?" she asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." he said. "No you're not. I know the look whenever you want to stay in the hospital with Buck." she said. "You're right; I want to stay in the hospital with Buck but I wasn't sure if you wanted to or not." he said. "You know it doesn't matter whether it's you or me." she said.

"Ok, I'll stay the night tonight. But I have to get another change of clothes though." he said. "Now, let's catch up with the others." she said. They both then stood up and walked towards the ICU. Once they arrived in the ICU, they saw the others standing there, around Buck's bed. They then walked in, with Diaz shutting the door behind them. He then took in Buck's pale face, with an ET tube sticking out. The heart monitor beeping every 30 seconds, 2 IV bags hanging, along with the 3rd, containing the benzodiazepine.

Everyone stayed in the room for about3 hours, until they all left because it was getting late. Maddie had told Diaz that she would bring him his bag from his truck because he left his keys at Buck's because he was in a rush. 1 week had passed since Buck was brought in, Diaz was still by his side. The doctor had taken Buck off the ventilator at Day 6. Day 8 then came, Diaz was staring at the heart monitor and noticed everything was stabilizing. Buck's BP, heart rate, and temperature. His temperature had now been brought down to 97.7.

The doctor had been shocked about the fastest recovery from a heat stroke. Diaz was now looking at his phone an hour later. He then heard movement coming out of Buck, he put his phone in his pocket and stood up the slightest bit. "Eddie, where are you?" he heard Buck say. "Easy there, I'm right here." he then said. Buck then opened his eyes, a little squinting before opening them fully. "Why in the hell am I in a hospital?" he asked. "Because, you had a heat stroke. I tried to cool you down myself but I was unsuccessful." Diaz said.

Bobby and Athena had brought Diaz's truck on day 5 because Bobby knew that he would need his truck sooner rather than later. They had also brought a bag for Buck because they knew he would also need clothes for whenever he leaves. A couple of days later, Buck was finally discharged from the hospital. Within a week, Buck was now back at work and this time being cautious of risking another heat stroke.
