"Freshen up your water?"

Doug nodded as the waitress poured the cold liquid from the perspiring plastic jug in her hand. This had been the fourth glass of water he had drunk in the past hour while awaiting his friend's arrival. Apart from the occasional sprint to the bathroom, Doug largely kept himself seated in the little booth, occasionally scanning the menu to break up the monotony of waiting for Harry to arrive.

The clock on his phone read 6:25pm. Five minutes until Harry was supposed to arrive and fifteen minutes since he had gotten to the eatery. Harry wasn't the type to cut it this close when it came to meeting up with him; especially with news so big that it had to be divulged in person. Doug's legs shook with equal parts anticipation and frustration.

"Wanna order anything hon?"

Before Doug could decline and say he was waiting for his friend, he could feel his phone buzz.

Doug. Ran into some traffic at the bridge. Will be there in about fifteen minutes. Order without me if you're hungry.

"Onion rings to start." Doug replied. "I'll keep the menu."

Fifteen minutes came and went. Just as Doug's order touched the table, he sees an all too familiar figure through the window; his face beaming with joy as he skips across the street and through the threshold.

"Harry!"

"Doug!"

Other than a growth spurt and some facial hair, Harry Spooger hardly seemed to age since his days at South School. The two shared a friendly embrace and ordered their meals.

"So what's the big news you had to tell me?"

Harry set down his drink. His already potent smile seemed to grow larger as he cleared his throat.

"You remember Song Lee Park?"

Doug gave a nod and started to smile. He knew there was only one possible place this conversation was heading, nonetheless he waited for the news to come from Harry himself and sure enough, he didn't disappoint. Reaching into his pocket, Harry tapped on the camera app and up popped a pair of hands; one of which sported a respectable diamond ring.

"Say hello to the future Mrs. Spooger."
