NOTE: I just read that Deanne is developing a TV series?! Anyone know anything about it? I wonder if it has something to do with our favorite people? Either way, I'm excited and let's all keep our fingers crossed and prayers many!
TRIVIA: Which undercover job do you think Sue is talking about? (it's the best they ever did for that character, in my opinion at least!)
?-?
"Have a nice day!" Sue called after the customer she just helped. To keep their cover, she and Jack quickly became jewelry salespeople, ensuring that if anyone was watching the shop, no one would become suspicious by two people hanging around the store all day. Meanwhile, Mya and Myles went back, grabbed Bobby and their surveillance materials, and were setting up shop a bit of a distance away.
"Never in all my years as an agent, would I think I'd be undercover as a jeweler." Jack said quietly, leaning his elbow on the glass, looking up at her.
Sue smiled. "It's almost as good as Myles' best undercover job."
He chuckled, remembering. "Yeah, that was a good one."
"I'm just glad we have some amazing friends who don't mind our immediate and crazy babysitting schedules!"
"My goodness! That's right!" He exclaimed, standing up straight.
"You forgot them again?" Sue asked, her eyebrows raised.
He embarrassedly looked at her. "Yes."
She smiled. "I get it. When we're in the middle of a case, that's all I can think about. You're the same way. They have learned that and usually understand, but a FaceTime later when we're waiting wouldn't do much harm."
Jack smiled, wrapping his arm about his wife. "That sounds like a very good idea."
?-?
"Anything?" Bobby asked as he walked into the surveillance van a few hours later, dinner bags in hand. It was now evening and Elizabeth had just locked up for the night, she, Sue and Jack still inside the building.
Mya shook her head as she looked at the different cameras they had set up. "Nope. Elizabeth has closed up shop, which means the diamond will be coming in any minute. Other than local traffic, there hasn't been anything."
He sighed in response. "It's never an easy case, eh?"
"With jewelry cases? No." Myles, who was sitting in the back and reading a book, replied.
"Dinner's in there?" Mya hopefully asked, staring at the bags Bobby was still holding.
"Oh, uh, yeah." He said, looking down at the bags, then set them on a nearby table to dole out the food.
"Hold up, food's gonna have to wait." Mya announced, seeing movement on her screens as one of Bobby's arms stopped in midair, food in hand. Immediately, he set it aside and walked over to her.
Bobby whistled when he saw what was on the screen. "How much could one measly diamond cost that there has to be this much security?" He asked, seeing the three armored trucks that pulled up to the back door of the store. "I mean, yesterday's I get. It was so large, it had to be expensive. But this one's going to be in an engagement ring. It can't be that large!"
"You apparently don't know diamonds." Myles replied, also watching what was on the screen. "Some can cost thousands, millions of dollars, no matter what size it is."
"Millions?" He asked, staring at his fellow agent. "Just for some silly rock?"
"Hey!" Mya complained. "Maybe I'm not a diamond nut, but there is something special to a diamond. Not that I want anyone to pay millions of dollars," she rambled.
"We get it." Bobby monotonously replied.
"So, what's the plan?" Myles asked.
Mya shrugged. "Sit and wait, I suppose. Jack will let us know what we need to do."
He nodded in reply. "Good plan."
?-?
"Hello!" Sue exclaimed as she, Jack and Elizabeth greeted the 6 armored guards that guided a small box into the shop.
"Here you go, ma'am." One guard said, gently handing Elizabeth the small box.
Taking it ever so gently, slowly she opened the box, viewed the small diamond, then looked at the guards. "Thank you."
They nodded, then left the shop.
"Alright. I will lock this up in the safe, and you will be free to guard the shop. Thank you again." Elizabeth said, looking at the agents.
Sue smiled. "It's our pleasure."
With that, she smiled, turned towards her office and the safe, and Jack and Sue were left alone in the main portion of the shop.
"So," Jack started. "What do you want to do?"
She shrugged. "Sit and wait?"
"How about that FaceTime call?" He asked, smiling.
She smiled as well. "That sounds like an excellent idea!"
?-?
"You're really guarding a jewelry store?" Mellody asked for the third time on their FaceTime call on Sue's phone. They were sitting in the corner of the dark store near the window so they could have some light, and also to see the back, which partially obstructed by the cases, could be seen from their position.
Sue chuckled. "Yes, we are."
"All night?" Chris added.
"Yes, so mind Lucy and Mark, OK?" Jack reminded.
"Yeah." Mellody unhappily replied.
"Since we're working tonight, when this case is done in the morning, we both will be home all afternoon tomorrow!" Sue added, trying to encourage them.
"Really?" Mellody anticipatedly asked.
Sue nodded, looking at her husband, who was glaring at her.
"We can't guarantee it, but most likely we will." He corrected.
"Yay!" The two kids happily exclaimed.
"Does that mean we all can play games all afternoon?" Chris asked.
"Well, we will have to sleep a bit, remember we won't be sleeping tonight, but yes, when we wake up, we can play some games." Sue replied.
"Yay!" The kids happily exclaimed, chatting and arguing about what games they should play. Enjoying the scene, Sue just stayed silent and smiled, watching them decide.
As the kids were talking, Jack heard a noise and frowned. Not sure what it was, he waved for Sue's attention. "HEAR SOMETHING. CALL STOP."
Nodding, she silently signed that they had to go, said goodbye, then turned to her husband, who was texting on his phone. "HEAR WHAT?"
He shook his head. "DON'T KNOW. MYA SEE NOTHING."
"US-TWO INVESTIGATE?"
He nodded. "SHOULD."
Quietly, the couple used the glass counters as blockades as they tried to go towards the sound, which Jack thought was coming from the back. As they were walking closer, more noise was heard. Finally, they arrived at the back wall, where they stood up against it, trying to determine what to do as Jack pulled his gun.
"MY COUNT." Jack signed. "1, 2, 3, GO!" He signed, then the two of them popped out from around the corner, into the hallway. "FBI Stop!"
