Alright...
I'll say it once more: If I'm slow in my writing, it's just because I'm to fight the depression of staying home.
Anyways, enjoy the chapter!
Chapter 1: The ram in the capital
Mu walked toward the capital, thinking if he still could use his abilities like before. He thought of trying, but there's more than that when he's somewhere that doesn't have those capable of using the Cosmo. He didn't want to get the unwanted so early and especially somewhere where he could be at a disadvantage.
"Hey there my good sir" said a shady person who came from behind a tree, and others followed.
"If you want to pass, pay the fee" said another one.
Mu looked around him and counted five armed bandits encircling him 'It had to happen to me' sighed Mu internally.
"Of course, if you refuse, we can always sell you to a slave trader" stated the first bandit who spoke to him "With a face like yours, you can fetch a good price even if you're a man"
"I'll say this only once" said Mu as he looked at the bandit's eyes "Let me pass, or you won't live for a longer time…"
The five men looked between themselves before laughing.
'How unfortunate…' Mu knew that it would end up like this, but he had to try.
"We'll try to make sure that your face stays intact" said the bandit before taking a sword and charged Mu.
The saint couldn't help but see him moving with a slow motion.
"I warned you" stated Mu before catching the blade "I'll try to hold back"
Before that they could blink, their companion was thrown away.
"What just happened?!" asked one of the bandits.
"The boss was about to teach him a lesson, but…" said another bandit.
When Mu turned toward the rest of the bandits, they tensed and grabbed their weapon.
"You still want to fight?" asked Mu "Even after what happened to your friend"
They were extremely nervous; in front of them was a stranger who was leagues beyond them… and he didn't had any weapon.
"Who the hell is this guy?" mumbled one of the bandits.
"Should we fall back?" added another one.
Mu sighed and continued his way, he couldn't allow himself to lose more time.
"Where do you think you're going?!" asked a third one.
Mu continued his way. From their Cosmo, they can't even be a threat to a single Bronze Saint, let alone to be a threat to him.
"We didn't said that you could go!" yelled one of the bandits as the others as he jumped, with the others, at Mu, trying to teach him to ignore them.
"I tried to warn you" sighed Mu before turning toward them and waving his hand "Crystal Wall"
A transparent, glass-like barrier made of psycho-power appeared between him and the bandits. The moment the bandits made contact with the glass-like barrier, they found themselves thrown away.
"Don't even think that you stood a chance against me" Said Mu as he turned and began to leave toward the capital.
After some long hours of walking, and with the help of a person that was heading toward the capital in a cart, Mu entered the city.
"So, this is the capital" mumbled Mu as he walked around, eying all what he can. This place had a large gap between the nobles and the lower classes. He sighed as he continued his walk through the streets of the capital, he wanted to explore more, but couldn't since he had no money to use.
"You there!" called a guard while approaching Mu "Who are you? It's my first time seeing you in the capital"
"My name is Mu, I'm simply here to talk with a friend of mine" replied Mu.
"A friend, huh?" the guard looked at him before smirking "But you didn't paid the toll, did you?"
"A toll?" Mu knew what it was all about "When I asked some people, they told me that there's some corrupted guards, I take that's true" He knew that he was lying, but he could also give him a little lie.
The guard looked surprised before taking a step back "Are calling me a liar?!"
Mu turned and continued to walk while saying "If you weren't, you wouldn't have lost your calm"
"Why you…!" growled the guard before charging him with the intention to kill him. But…
"If you want me to attack you, then you'll have to be at least at a level of a Bronze Saint" Mu caught his weapon before wanking it off him "I won't be tricked in doing anything to someone like you… in the city" he threw the weapon away before continuing his way.
The guard blinked before seeing that the man in front of him disappeared.
On the roof of a building, Mu looked down and sighed, he didn't thought that the capital would be like that.
"I need to get to that weapon shop before that more troubles come to me" said Mu before teleporting to another roof, then another, he then teleported to a desolated alley.
After questioning some people he arrived to a shop.
"That must be the place" mumbled Mu as he entered.
"Welcome to my shop" said middle-aged man with a well-built body. He had a shaved head, Amish-style beard without a mustache, black eyes, and partially darker skin. He was wearing an off-white undershirt with medium-length sleeves beneath a beige overalls-like forger apron hung only by the left shoulder, black gloves, dark brown pants, and brown-beige upturned boots.
"Are you Erhard?" asked Mu as he walked to him.
"The one and only" replied the shop owner with a laugh "What can I do for you?"
"A friend of mine said that you can help me with a little experiment of mine" stated Mu.
"Depends on what's this experiment is about" said Erhard as he crossed his arms.
"All what I'm needing are four armors, the kinds that are too damaged to be wore" said Mu before adding "Someone that I know said that you can lend me some"
"Well, that can be hard" said Erhard as he began to think "Those armors can be melted and reforged into new equipments" he sighed before asking "Who guided you to me?"
"A woman living in a village" answered Mu "Her name is Nathalia"
"Oh, so Nath was the one who sent you here, huh?" stated Erhard before going to the back of the shop "I don't have a lot of 'em, so I can lend you a lot"
"It's alright, I'm going to need only four, if possible" replied Mu.
"Alright" Erhard walked back to the front of the shop with a bag "These are the most damaged ones, can't even be called armors"
Mu smiled and said "Even dead an armor can be revived"
"Heh, that's something only gifted blacksmiths can say" commented Erhard before asking "Do you have a forge somewhere?"
"Let's say that I have some secrets that are best to stay hidden" replied Mu "Fame can be a weapon that can hurt both the enemy and the ally"
"You use a lot of wise words, don't ya?"
"I simply use the wisdom that my master left behind" sighed the Aries Saint before taking the bag "I'll try to see if my hypothesis is right"
"Do you think that it will get those armors to top shape?" asked the blacksmith.
"With the right technique and enough time, it may transform them to something greater" chuckled Mu before saying "Now, if you excuse me" he then teleported away.
"Who the hell was that..." wondered Erhard as he massaged the top of his head.
Mu teleported in front of Nathalia's house and opened the door. He found the Bull Saint in deep thoughts while sitting in front of the chimney.
Mu chuckled before saying "What could be troubling you?"
"Ever since I got here, I thought that we would all be here at the same time, just like Asgard" stated Aldebaran "But…"
"But?"
"I feel like there's something that we didn't saw" said Aldebaran "Something that I don't like"
"Like what?" asked Mu with concern.
"Like we are in some sort of war, but in a plan larger than the Holy Wars" pointed Aldebaran.
"That would be troubling…" mumbled Mu "Do you think that's maybe the reason why we're here?"
"Honestly, I don't know" sighed Aldebaran "I never was the smartest"
"Maybe that we should try to see if there's any other Saint…" said Mu
"I may not be the best at it, but I tried" stated Aldebaran "And after three days, you're the only one I could sense"
"I see…"
"What's our next move?" asked Aldebaran.
"First thing that needs to be done, is learning more about where we are" answered Mu.
Aldebaran nodded before asking "What's in there?" while pointing the bag in Mu's hands.
"What's left of armors" answered Mu "I will rest a little before working on them"
"I take that you'll need my help" stated the Taurus Saint.
Mu nodded before putting the bag next to the Stardust.
After some hours, at dusk, both Mu and Aldebaran got out of the house with the ruined armors, the Stardust, and the tools. Nathalia was watching them from the door.
"Are you ready?" asked Mu while taking what's left of a chestplate.
Aldebaran nodded before walking to the piece of armor, then opened a wound on his wrist. Blood began to flow on the piece of broken armor. At the same time, Mu took some Stardust and began to sprinkle it on the armor, before seeing it glowing.
On the other hand, Nathalia saw in awe as both Saints worked on the four ruined armors. After an hour, Mu turned the four pieces of ruined armors into four chestplates that had some sort of aura around them.
"Looks like it worked" stated Aldebaran, getting a nod from Mu.
"That was incredible…" commented Nathalia after recovering her voice.
"I'm sorry, I hope that I didn't do a lot of noise when working" apologized Mu with a bow.
"It's okay, you weren't that noisy" replied Nathalia while waving her hand.
"I think that I should return them" said Mu before picking up one of the repaired armors "After all, I just borrowed them"
"Are you going now?" asked Aldebaran.
Mu shook his head and replied "I spent a lot of Cosmo and energy in repairing them" he then sighed before adding "I'll go tomorrow"
"By the way, is it anything that you would like for dinner?" asked Nathalia.
"Although I feel a little bad, for forcing our stay…" began Mu.
"There's no need to say that" interrupted Nathalia "In fact, we owe a lot to sir Aldebaran for helping us with some bandits. Therefore, there's no problem at all"
Mu looked at the Taurus Saint, who sighed and said "When I arrived, I saw a group of punks trying to get their way with the village. After dealing with them, they didn't stopped asking me if there's anything they can do to repay me for helping them"
Mu chuckled before saying "You're always awkward in those kind of situations"
"That's not true…" grumped Aldebaran.
"I think that you need to regain your forces" stated Mu before adding "Especially after helping me with the armors"
"I was in worse situations" laughed Aldebaran "Losing some drops of blood is nothing"
Mu shook his head and chuckled before putting the armors in the bag to return them.
The next day, Mu got up and took the bag.
"Going out?" asked Aldebaran as he sat on a chair.
"I need to get those armors back to Erhard" replied Mu.
"Try not to get lost" said Aldebaran with a laugh as Mu teleported away.
Mu appeared in front of the Shop and entered.
"You're back!" said Erhard as he smiled "I take that the results of your little experiment is good?"
Mu nodded and gave the bag to Erhard who looked into it.
"What… What's this?" he asked with confusion.
"The results of my experiment with my repairing technique" answered Mu with a smile.
"That's… not even expert smiths can do something like that" stated Erhard with disbelieve.
"Let's say that my technique is out of this world" said Mu with a chuckle.
"No kidding, they look like Armors that only legendary heroes can wear" said Erhard as he examined one of the armors "I can sell just one with the least being a thousand gold, if not ten thousand"
"They can't be compared to a Bronze Cloth, but they are more resilient than any armor you'll find in this world" stated Mu.
"Bronze Cloth?" Erhard was now curious "What's that?"
"Cloths are armors that can be worn by Saints of Athena" explained Mu "Think of them as armors that choose their wearer"
"Now that's an interesting concept" mumbled Erhard "Does it mean that you saw one of them?"
"You'd be surprised" replied the Aries Saint with a smile.
"No way… you wore one?" asked Erhard with wide eyes.
"You can say that" replied Mu.
"Think that you can bring me one?" asked Erhard "Something like that could prove to be useful to me"
"Unfortunately, it won't be possible" replied Mu "The only ones that I know of here are mine and one of a friend"
"That's a bummer, and here I thought that I would be able to get a better craft to make better armors" groaned Erhard before adding "That being said, I still don't know your name"
"I'm Mu, Gold Saint of the Aries House" said Mu "Well… I was one, but after arriving here, I'm only a Saint"
"Don't be hard on yourself" said Erhard with a laugh before that two people entered his shop.
One was a black haired young man with green eyes, while the other is a crimson haired young woman with green eyes.
'That boy…' thought Mu as he looked at the young boy 'His Cosmo Energy is the highest one I saw in this world'
"I guess that I need to do my business" mumbled Erhard before stepping a little to his left "Welcome!"
'The boy's Cosmo is high and pure, but the girl…' Mu was in deep though as he saw Erhard talking and doing business with the two customers 'I need to keep an eye on that boy… I feel like there's something about him that's related to the reason why both Aldebaran and I are here'
"Talk about a weird encounter" sighed Erhard as he got back to Mu "Sorry if I took a lot of your time"
"There's no need to apologize, you had a business to run" replied Mu.
"I take that you're new around here, right?"
"You have no idea" stated Mu with a chuckle.
"Are you going to stay in the surroundings or…"
"I'm currently staying in a village"
"Riyute Village, right?"
Mu nodded and said "I'm a bit curious about the capital, maybe that I'll visit it tomorrow"
"You're welcome here at any time" said Erhard before seeing Mu teleporting away.
Mu teleported in front of Nathalia's house and entered before noticing that the woman was sitting by the fire.
"Is something wrong?" asked Mu.
"Oh, it's you, Sir Mu" replied the woman.
"Is there a reason on why you're sitting here, alone?"
"Apparently, Sir Aldebaran was taken on a tour of the village and…"
"Did something bad happened to him?" asked Mu. He knows how strong Aldebaran is, but they might be others that are stronger than him.
"No! No, he's fine" replied Nathalia before sighing "It's just that…"
"I see" said Mu after understanding the situation "You're quite fond of his presence, right?"
Nathalia's face became red as she said "I-It's not like that!"
"Taming the bull might be hard" said Mu before sitting on a chair next to her "I take that you had those feelings from quite sometimes, right?"
"Well… he saved my life, and…"
Mu chuckled a little before saying "It hit you when you saw him defending you, right?"
Nathalia looked away and nodded.
"And you tried to express it, but it didn't worked as you wanted it to work, right?" asked Mu.
Nathalia nodded again.
"Well, it might be hard for you to do it that way" said Mu before adding "Since he never experienced something like that before" he then got up "I'm going to rest for a little time. If you need help, either come to me, or ask Aldebaran"
The next day, both Mu and Aldebaran were walking in the capital.
"So that's the capital" mumbled Aldebaran as he looked around "Quite different from the villages around the Sanctuary"
Mu nodded and said "Indeed. But again, it's the capital of a nation"
They walked until they heard some gossips.
"It seems that someone assaulted the first princess" said one to his companion.
"Really. Who?" asked the other.
"The Shield Hero"
"Are you sure?"
"I heard it from a friend who works in the castle"
Mu narrowed his eyes as he continued his way 'I don't like this'
Well, I don't know if it's a good development, but this is the best I could think of.
As for the next events, I do have plans for Naofumi.
I'd better not dwell more, or I'll spoil the story.
See you next time!
