Chapter Two: Testing Limits
~A/N~ So here we go. Chapter two.
Chapter Start!
Everything had happened so fast. One day he was contemplating and attempting to end his life. The next day he was walking through the hallowed halls of U.A. University. On his way to meet Dean Nezu.
"Should I be worried?" Inko asked looking to Shota.
"No. Nezu is eccentric but not crazy," Shota replied as he led the mother and son towards their destination.
"I still can't believe I'm meeting Dean Nezu," Izuku said nervously.
"You'll be fine. Just don't lie. He will know," Shota said as he slowed. They had reached Nezu's office.
"Come in," a voice said before Shota could knock.
"After you," Shota said opening the door for the two. Izuku stepped past his nerves starting to get to him.
"Welcome," Nezu said as the three stepped in. "It's a pleasure to meet you both. Now you might be thinking am I a bear, a mouse, or a dog. But what is important is that I'm the dean of U.A." Nezu added.
"It's an honor to meet you. I'm Izuku Midoriya and this is my mother Inko Midoriya," Izuku said with a bow.
"And he is?" Inko pointed to a tall frail man standing slightly behind Nezu's left.
"Oh, He's one of the reasons you are here. We will get to that later. Firstly I would like to get your story. Just us though. If that is ok," Nezu said looking to Inko and Shota.
"I suppose," Inko said slowly.
"How about a cup of coffee?" Shota offered.
"That sounds nice," Inko replied as the three adults left.
"Now then Midoriya-kun," Nezu said with a soft smile.
"Where do you want me to start?" Izuku asked.
"Where ever is most comfortable for you. I know this won't be easy," Nezu replied.
~With Inko~
The moment they left the office the tall man took his leave without so much as a word. "What an odd man," Inko said as she started following Shota. "Just ask it," Inko added.
"hm?" Shota looked towards Inko.
"I can tell you want to ask me something. Just ask it," Inko said.
"I didn't want to be rude," Shota said.
"Oh," Inko knew what he was going to ask.
"The boy's father?" Shota asked.
"Couldn't tell you the first thing about the sperm donor," Inko replied.
"Oh," Shota wasn't sure what to say now.
"That didn't come outright. I don't mean that rudely. I mean I actually can't tell you about him. I never met him. Izuku was artificial," Inko explained.
"I understand," Shota felt a lot better now. He was worried for a moment.
"After a dozen or so failed relationships and my clock ticking I just wanted to be a mother," Inko explained. "What about you?"
"What?" Shota asked.
"Anyone in your life?" Inko asked.
"Oh, yeah married three years ago," Shota replied a soft smile coming to his face.
"Guess you don't wear a ring because you're a hero?" Inko asked.
"Yeah, most heroes don't wear signs like that," Shota replied as the two reached the teacher's lounge.
"Shota!" a voice screamed the second the door opened.
"Hizashi. quiet down," Shota shot back as he stepped in with Inko behind him.
"Who's this?" another voice asked. Inko looked to see Midnight, someone she knew well thanks to Izuku's hero love.
"Midoriya. Her son is meeting with Nezu at the moment," Shota answered moving towards the coffee mixer.
"And how did you meet them?" Nemuri asked.
"Long story," Shota replied.
"Nope. No pulling that shit," Hizashi shot back.
"I got into a fight with a villain and took a hit. Her son saved me," Shota explained.
"Took a hit?" Hizashi asked.
"You fought Piercer didn't you?" Nemuri asked.
"Yeah," Shota replied.
"How bad?" Hizashi asked.
"I was pretty close to bleeding out," Shota replied.
"And you didn't have your phone?" Hizashi snapped.
"Broke it a few days ago. The new one should be waiting at home today," Shota replied.
"Emi's gonna kill you," Hizashi said.
"I'm well aware. Now if you'll excuse me. She's waiting for an update,"
~Back with Nezu~
"And then I jumped," Izuku finished looking down.
"I must say you are far stronger than you think you are," Nezu said.
"What?" Izuku asked confused.
"To have been able to bear all that for that long and only just broke. You're far stronger than you think you are," Nezu explained.
"You think so?" Izuku asked.
"Without a doubt. I see why Aizawa was willing to put your name forth before I even released the F.H.P. program," Nezu said.
"Now then How about a game of Go while we wait for your mother and Aizawa-san to return," Nezu offered.
"That sounds fun," Izuku smiled.
~A few minutes later~
"We're back," Shota said as he and Inko stepped into the office.
"Welcome back," Nezu said looking up from the Go board. "Now we can get to the meat of this meeting. The Future Heroes Precourse,"
"What does it entail?" Inko asked.
"It is essentially a scholarship to U.A. with additional caveats of training and experience with heroes before being of age for U.A." Nezu explained.
"And you want to offer this to Izuku?" Inko asked.
"Yes. I believe Aizawa-san was right with his initial decision. Your son is perfect for it," Nezu said with a smile.
"What happens then?" Inko asked.
"Well, you decide that. If you like we can start his training on Monday. So instead of going back to Aldera, he will come here for school. He will be given a personal tutor to help patch up his weaknesses and improve his strengths," Nezu explained. "Or he can continue with his schooling and come here on weekends for the same reasons,"
"Why two options?" Inko asked.
"Pacing mainly. Schooling here would be a faster pace and demand a bit more from him while weekends would be slower-paced and-"
"The first one please," Izuku said interrupting Nezu. "Sorry,"
"No worries," Nezu smiled knowing Izuku would've asked for the first option anyway.
"So Monday?" Izuku asked looking towards his mother.
"Monday," She smiled back.
"Wonderful. Now to the second reason. Aizawa-san said you healed him," Nezu said.
"Yeah... I cut my hand and my blood, which is gold, healed him," Izuku explained.
"How long had you been injured?" Nezu asked.
"Less than five minutes," Shota replied.
"Interesting. If you are willing I would like to test your healing," Nezu said.
"You want me to heal people?" Izuku asked.
"I have five people that could use some healing. Each has been hurt for a different time and reason," Nezu explained.
"What about Recovery Girl?" Izuku asked.
"She's actually out of the country at the moment. A tropical storm caused a lot of damaged and she offered to go and help with healing. This is another reason why I have these cases," Nezu explained further.
"I'll give it a shot," Izuku replied.
"Good," Nezu said grabbing his phone and dialing. "Could you have Hado-san sent up please,"
"What's wrong with Hado-san?" Izuku asked.
"Broken leg. She was attempting to fly with her quirk. It worked but she flew too high and ran out of energy. Then fell and landed poorly," Nezu answered.
"I understand," Izuku said.
"Now while we wait for her I believe we had a game going," Nezu said looking back to the Go board.
"Pretty sure I was winning too," Izuku shot back with a big smile.
~Few Minutes Later~
"You asked for me to be sent?" Izuku felt his mouth go dry. He wasn't expecting Hado-san to be so unbelievably beautiful. He couldn't pull his eyes off her.
"We have a new healer. We wanted to test his capabilities," Nezu said.
"She might have to have the cast taken off. When I healed Aizawa-san I touched his wound directly.
"Even better. If you can't heal her leg through the cast then we'll learn that handicap. Please attempt," Nezu replied smiling.
"Ok," Izuku said before turning to Shota.
"Right," Shota said handing Izuku his knife.
"I'll try without first," Izuku said trying to calm his mother who was eyeing the knife.
"You have a healing quirk and angel wings?" Hado asked.
"Long story," Izuku said as he placed his hand on Hado's cast.
"ooo that feels funny," Nejire said trying to stop herself from giggling.
"Feel better?" Izuku asked.
"Nope, it just tickled. Like it was trying but couldn't reach," Nejire said. One cast removal later Izuku tried again.
"Anything?" Izuku asked.
"Feels numb now. Like how Recovery Girl's lips leave spots numb feeling," Nejire replied.
"Perhaps you need to use your quirk more then you won't have to cut," Shota suggested.
"Sounds right," Izuku said before he dragged Shota's knife over his palm then placed it on Nejire's leg.
"WOAH!" Nejire shouted. "That feels so weird. I can feel the bones fixing but it doesn't hurt," she added.
"So you can heal back a week. We'll try the next one," Nezu said before excusing Hado.
After five more cuts and five more perfect healings, Nezu decided it was time to give it a shot. "Yagi-san If you could return to my office," Nezu said before giving a soft smile. "Time to really test your healing,"
~End Notes~ Well there you go. Chapter two. I hope you enjoyed it. Sorry, it took so long to get out. Lots of issues.
