A/N: I think I might just respond to reviews in my author's notes cause I'm truly stumped with what to say in these xD

Silver - Whoa you really are all around! I totally agree with why you read fan fiction though, it's nice to see all the different styles and how people improve and such. That's kinda why I started writing on here too. If you have any stories I'd love to read them!

Extending the effects of Diane's pills is a good idea too. I'll definitely add it in. I'm glad I didn't flop at hangover King (and Diane dealing with the bugs), my worst writing fear is making the characters do the wrong things. I think Ban may be the next one to deal with a hangover though.

Till next time,

D.L.D

"You think this'll be a good idea?" Elizabeth tilted her head as she and Hawk pushed a few logs they found into a circle.

Both had been working all day, under the careful watch of the Sins, to prepare a surprise for everyone. It had mainly been the princess' idea and Hawk was happy to assist, mainly because she was so kind to him. Well that and she promised extra scraps.

"I'm sure it'll be great Elizabeth!" Hawk grinned as he stopped pushing to look at her. "All your ideas are great!"

"Aww thank you Hawk," Elizabeth beamed as she petted the pig. "I just hope that Sir Meliodas and the Sins like it too. They seem so frustrated with being little again and I want to do something to cheer them up."

"I'm sure they'll appreciate it, if not I'll make em," Hawk responded as he got back to pushing. The log was soon in place. "Ahh perfect! Now all we have to do is get some firewood and ask Ban to make some delicious treats!"

Elizbeth paused going over her mental checklist to see if there was anything they had forgotten. Nothing came to mind and everything essential was already completed.

"It seems you're right," The princess smiled, before frowning slightly. "But what could we do for the next hour?"

"Oh! I have an idea!" Diane practically bounced up to her, a wide smile on her face. Her orange romper had shorts that reached mid thigh this time, making it more child friendly. "I spent all afternoon picking some flowers and I thought about braiding them into each other's hair."

"That seems fun," Elizabeth nodded, as she looked at the basket in the brunette's grasp.

It was an explosion of colour and petals. Daisies, violets and even bluebells were mixed within the pansies and snowdrops. All sorts of flowers were in the basket, making Elizabeth wonder where Diane could've found them all.

"Great, because Merlin refused and you're the only girl left!" Diane beamed as she dragged Elizabeth to a log and sat her down. "Now I'll start with you because your hair is longer. Aww, you're gonna look so adorable Elizabeth!"

The princess simply hummed in response and sat patiently as the brunette began to brush out her silver hair, gently splitting it into three, before beginning to braid them whilst intertwining flowers.

"I think white and pink flowers would go really well with your hair colour," Diane spoke absentmindedly as she braided, "Maybe a dash of yellow or dark blue, maybe red..."

Soon the braid was completed and Elizabeth was left with a single long braid intertwined with bright and sweet scented flowers.

"Tada!" Diane grinned as she showed Elizabeth her reflection in a nearby stream. "What do ya think?"

The princess smiled as she admired the flowers in her hair as well as how Diane had managed to braid it so swiftly.

"It's lovely Diane, really," Elizabeth smiled as she turned to the giantess. "Now I should do yours. Fair is fair."

"Well, we can do that later," Diane smirked as she grabbed Elizabeth by her arm and dragged her towards Meliodas and King. Ban was still inside attempting to cook and the others were all doing their own thing.

"Diane what are you doing?" Elizabeth whispered, although a part of her knew what the brunette was aiming for.

"Just showing Captain and King my braiding skills," She answered back simply. An innocent smile rested on her lips. "You're my first and only model so I have to show them."

"But - "

"No buts, you look great and so Captain and King have to agree," Diane continued, her tone cheery. "And there's no better judges than King or Captain. They're both pretty honest."

Elizabeth only sighed as she let the brunette drag her towards the two boys. Both were talking, King fully recovered from his hangover thanks to Merlin's pill and Meliodas justifying his shortness.

"Hey Captain, King," Diane waved at them respectively as she stood before Elizabeth, hiding her from view. "I need your opinions on this, so can you guys be really honest? Like really honest?"

"Yep."

"We're all ears."

"Great!" Diane stepped out from in front of Elizabeth. "Ok, so does this look amazing or what! I spent ages getting the flowers and I'm pretty proud of it."

Elizabeth turned red, attempting to hide in her hair, only for the braid to disrupt its usual motion. Instead the braid simply slung over her shoulder, revealing yet more flowers that Diane had added.

"I think it looks great Diane!" King smiled slightly, red dusting his face.

"You really think so?" Diane smiled giddly as she began to jump on the spot, clapping her hands. "I mean it's my first time trying and I thought it looked amazing, but hearing it from you means I did really well. What do you think Captain?"

They all turned to Meliodas who seemed to be staring at nothing. His eyes were wide and mouth slightly agape but it was quickly covered with a sheepish grin.

"Um...The colours really go well?" Usually the blonde was well prepared for being caught off guard. In fact he often had a quick response ready. But for some reason (probably that he was a kid again) Meliodas couldn't think of anything. Instead a faint shade of red seemed to dust his cheeks.

"Awww Captain's totally - " King's hand clamped over Diane's mouth causing her to make muffled noises.

Both Elizabeth and Meliodas seemed to give out a silent sigh. Their eyes met and then quickly darted away, distracting themselves with the scene Diane and King were making.

The giantess was still talking, her words muffled and formless, as King tried to convince her not to say anything. His strategy seemed to work because soon the brunette had stilled. However Diane then frowned before licking King's hand.

"Diane~" King frowned as he withdrew his hand and wiped it on his jacket. He was now red.

"What, you were the one who put it over my mouth," She huffed before grabbing Elizabeth. "Anyway it's my turn, so I'm taking Elizabeth for now. Don't worry I'll bring her back by sundown."

Diane laughed as she dragged away the now red princess. They were a safe distance away once Elizabeth decided to speak.

"You did that on purpose didn't you?" Elizabeth looked at Diane accusitoringly and the brunette shrugged.

"Me? Do that? On purpose? I have no idea what you mean, Elizabeth," Diane replied simply as she began to hum, occupying herself as Elizabeth began to style her hair into braided pigtails.

The princess only sighed in reply, before thinking of a way to get Diane back. And it definitely involved King and tonight's surprise.

"Ooh you've really outdone yourself Elizabeth!" Diane spoke between a mouthful of treats.

"Yes, what inspired you to organise such an activity?" Escanor looked at her, curiosity filling his mind and eyes. Perhaps he could plan something for Merlin and pass it off as a childish whim...

"Well..I just thought it'd be nice?" Elizabeth blushed slightly, her eyes focusing on the crackling fire in the centre of their log circle. The auburn flames danced in the wind, contrasting with the darkened sky. "Being children again isn't too ideal and I wanted to cheer you all up."

"Aww thanks Elizabeth!" Diane smiled as she leaned towards the princess.

"Yeah at least someone's making this shitshow of an experience enjoyable," Ban rolled his eyes as he twitched slightly. "Haven't been able to drink for a while now."

"You're telling me you can't go a day without booze?" Meliodas teased and the other boy chuckled.

"Not with you shitheads stressing me out," Ban chuckled. "Why don't one of you learn to cook?"

"Hey I'm not a shithead!" Diane huffed as she tossed a rock at the Fox sin. "And I can cook just not in tiny kitchens."

"Now, calm down," Merlin sighed as she ran a hand over her face. As the oldest looking sin, she had more or less been acting as nurserymaid/fill in adult for the the group. "Diane, I'm sure Ban's just tired. However, Ban can you stop saying shithead?"

"Sorry, but it's an old habit," He grinned, his sharp canines glinting in the firelight. His red eyes peered at the mage, a mischievous glint in them.

"Don't you dare," Merlin's tone was firm, her gaze matching his. She knew exactly what he was thinking of doing. Especially since he's missing out on his regular ale intake.

"Shithead," Ban gave a shiteating grin to match his phrase and Merlin frowned, her usual demeanour replaced with childish annoyance.

"You have five seconds to run," She spoke softly, her tone level yet threatening. "I'd hate to ruin the princess' efforts to make tonight fun, so I suggest you start running Ban."

Taking his cue, Ban began to move. He took his usual casual strides, acting as if Merlin's threats meant nothing. But soon he was gone, his figure barely visible from the Sins' spot.

"Excuse me, Sins, princess," Merlin looked at each of them before floating after Ban.

"Wait, I'll come Miss Merlin!" Escanor chased after her, following like an obedient puppy.

A silence followed their exit, the gentle breeze of the evening and warmth of the fire the only witnesses of the group.

"I hope Merlin kicks his ass," Diane broke the silence. She poker the charring firewood with a stick. "He's so annoying calling everyone shithead all the time."

"It's probably just an old habit," Meliodas shrugged. "I mean from what I know, Ban probably grew up rough."

"Well it's no excuse is it?" Diane huffed. "It doesn't mean he has to be a giant meanie. Some of us grew up hard and we still have manners."

"It's not that simple," Gowther spoke, his tone analytical and conservative. His glasses reflected the fire as he recited the facts. "Habits are learned over time and often become second nature. They are difficult to control, similar to how you often manipulate the earth when angry or frightened."

"So?" Diane frowned, sticking her tongue out.

"So, Ban's only acting out of instinct," King answered, slowly choosing his words. "He doesn't mean to call people shithead he just does."

"It still isn't nice," Diane folded her arms. She then turned to the princess beside her, a pleading look on her face. "What do you think Elizabeth? You're on my side with this, right?"

"Well I agree that it's not nice," Elizabeth admitted, "But I'm sure Sir Ban has his reasons."

Diane's eyes widened in disbelief, before she shook her head and bit her lip.

"I'm gonna take a walk," Diane sighed, a slight frown on her face.

She then stood up and left the group.

"Is anyone gonna go after her?" King peered at the others.

"Nope."

"Sorry but I'm afraid of the dark."

"Diane wouldn't benefit from me going after her."

"I guess I'm doing it then," The fairy sighed as he grabbed Chastiefol and began to float off. "If I'm not back within an hour something happened."

"Either way something's gonna happen," Meliodas filled in Ban's role of embarrassing the fairy, earning a red face from King.

"Whatever, an hour or something bad happened ok?" King looked at the blonde and he nodded.

"Ok an hour."

Satisfied, the fairy then disappeared into the distance chasing after the brunette.

"I feel so bad for tricking them," Elizabeth sighed as she turned to the others. "Thanks for helping me get Diane back."

"Whoa, we're not done," Meliodas hopped off his log. "We have to make sure this really works. Not to mention discuss payment later."

"P-payment?" Elizabeth turned red. "I can't think of anything I can give you."

"I'm sure I'll think of something," The blonde grinned before clapping his hands. "Now, we need to work on getting those two together."
