A/N: Ok so it was actually raining when I wrote the Rainy Days chapter and I had been wanting to put in a sort of rainy day themed one (cause ya know cuteness and stuff) and I thought it was the perfect time. Anyway thanks for all the favourites, follows and reviews! Also this story got 1k views on 26th Oct 2020 at 02:43 in the morning! (Why am I being specific? Well I pulled an all-nighter and was feeling the terrible consequences the next day).

Anyway, I literally grinned like the Cheshire cat when I saw everything pop up in my emails! I'm glad that the story is well received and liked by people. Like actual people. *Sniffles* Thank you so much...

Anywho, I'll answer reviews UwU

Silver - I remember playing Duck Duck Goose on rainy days when I went to primary school. It was just so fun back when I was little and I thought I'd add it in. And Diane...she is definitely going to snoop and find out what's happening. As for why it takes longer for King and Escanor, I'm developing the reason but I think it'll be self-explanatory when I reveal it. And the curse...I'm actually not sure how I'll make it happen. But I probably won't kill Elizabeth, I think I'll have the Supreme Deity meddle with Ellie. As always though, thank you for the kind review.

Ashley - Well first off, thank you for reviewing! I'll add in those scenarios for sure, though some may appear later on in the story. And it was raining while you read the story XD. Perfect timing! The whole Ellie going through her past selves made me laugh, but kinda makes sense when you think about it. After all she does remember some of it before it's erased. Also I'm glad you're enjoying the story :)

Till next time,

D.L.D

Note: Ok so fanfiction was acting weird cause I uploaded the chapter but it didn't pop up. Really weird right? So I've reuploaded this chapter and hopefully it got through this time.

"Ugh, my head hurts," Ban groaned as he slumped at a table.

The Fox Sin had decided it was a good idea to break into the liquor supply and had drunk heartily. In fact somehow the child had managed to get through quite a lot of alcohol, passing out between the empty bottles from his drunkenness and awakening to a terrible headache. One that Merlin allowed him to suffer through as a consequence to his behaviour.

"Well, that'll teach you from breaking into anything again," Merlin simply replied, sympathy lacking in her statement.

The mage in question was enjoying a cup of tea, ignoring the Fox Sin's cries of pain and agony. It was too early in the morning to deal with practically raising a group of kids anyway. Way too early. Merlin could feel the fatigue and stress carving creases into her face, despite being a child again. If anything that made it feel worse. Way worse. It made her feel old and helpless in a way, too old for her body but too young for her usual mental maturity. However this was the oldest, and most stressed, Merlin had felt in a long time. Even when she occasionally noted how long she had lived before.

"I'm still gonna do it," Ban laughed in response. It came out dry and spiteful, almost as if to make his point clear. "I just won't drink as much."

"Suit yourself," Merlin sighed as she took a sip from her teacup, unaffected. After all it wouldn't be her dealing with a hangover each morning.

Silence filled the space between them, the rain from the day before seeming to clear out. It sounded lighter today, the rainfall not seeming as heavy and thick as it was the day before. Perhaps even light enough to let the Sins out to burn some energy. The Boar Hat didn't seem to have nearly enough space for the reverted group. Another issue in this situation. Merlin was struggling to find ways to keep them all occupied while still keeping up with her research on their predicament.

But it seemed even her research was being affected from this too. The ravenette had noticed that she was getting through things slower now, often having to stop to 'mother' the group. But not just that seemed to halt her progress, it was also the fact that a lot of her main tools for such things were back in Camelot. A place that seemed so distant and far away from the group of kidified Sins. In fact so distant that Merlin knew even risking a quick trip there would be an unwise decision.

With Merlin, the Sins seemed to be just a hair away from becoming unruly and what the caster of the spell wanted. So without her, the case would most likely be worse. Clearly Merlin was the only one who could rope in the Sins and so she had to make the best of her current research time. Time that was often used when the children were asleep or calm. Like now.

Merlin smiled slightly as she noted how quiet the Boar Hat was this morning. Something that hadn't happened for a while since they had woken up as children. Something the mage had missed.

As if sensing the quiet, King and Diane had awoken. The brunette was still groggy, rubbing her eyes as she took breakfast from the tray Merlin had prepared earlier on. Something the mage had taken upon herself since Ban was unable to this morning. King followed Diane, the fairy looking refreshed but thoughtful as he sat beside her. The news Merlin had told him had seemed to weigh heavily, especially since he still remembered much.

"How far are we from Liones?" King turned to Merlin who smiled slightly.

"Around a day or two," Merlin responded, her own spirits seeming to lighten with the news.

She had forgotten that she had decided to head there. A place where they could seek better advice and perhaps better childcare for the slowly reverting Sins. After all there was only so much the mage could do herself. At least if she got the group to Liones, she'd know they were safe while she recovered and researched at Camelot. Plus she knew that they'd be safe under Bartra and the kingdom's care.

"Really?!" Diane seemed pleased, the excitement evident in her eyes.

"Yes, though we may have a slight detour," Merlin spoke as she thought about a stop she had planned. A stop that may help her to unlock the secrets of the spell and maybe solve the shrinking pill issue.

This made the three Sins look at her with brows raised. Expressions showing that they were wondering why Merlin would take them on a detour, when heading to Liones seemed like an important task to complete. After all it seemed logical for them to head there after becoming children. Laying out in the open like this was really just too risky.

"It's to help with this situation," Merlin sighed as if reading their thoughts. She grimaced as she discarded her tea, knowing that she had to plan for a lot if they were going to take a detour. Something she would've prepared for sooner if she hadn't had to manage so much already. "It'd be better if you didn't question anything about it."

"Ok..." Diane seemed uncertain.

"That's fine by me," Ban shrugged, before cringing from his headache.

"As long as you're not doing anything shady," King glanced at her, knowing that Merlin may have something planned for reversing this or perhaps getting in contact with whoever had done this. It wouldn't be unlikely either from what she had told him.

"Don't worry, I'm not," Merlin answered simply as she slid off her seat and headed towards the stairs. She then turned to face King, "Tell Escanor to come to my room once he awakes."

"Sure," The fairy nodded and she smiled, before disappearing from the room.

"Hmm," Gowther frowned as he studied Escanor.

The doll had been observing everyone for the past few days. Many of his observations included studies on how the interacted with each other, often inquiring about things such as the purpose of running about and insisting on being loud and raucous when they were simply doing an everyday task. It was all so fascinating. All so confusing. Everything about being a child had perplexed Gowther and slolwy he found himself wanting to understand more about being one and having the emotions and feelings they had.

"Is everything alright Gowther?" Escanor turned to the doll, concern etched into his features. "You've been staring at me for quite some time."

The doll blinked at this, noting that he had been staring for quite some time.

"Oh yes, everything's alright," He nodded, his voice coming out in its usual monotone. "I was just wondering about something."

Escanor sighed knowing that this would lead into another one of Gowther's inquisitive bouts. It seemed as if the doll was a very inquisitive child whenever he was one, often asking questions about things that were too big to answer definitely. What is life? What is emotion? Why do people play with each other? All of these had left the doll's mouth and left Escanor worrying about what question or fact he would point out next.

"Well, I guess I could help you answer it..." Escanor finally relented, releasing a sigh. He knew that if he didn't help Gowther, he would most likely cause trouble within the Sins just by asking his questions. Not that Gowther would mean it, but he seemed like the sort of child that sat in the corner and creeped the others out. Something that Escanor predicted would cause a mess that Merlin would have to fix and then draw her from her work.

Escanor would not stand for that. He knew that Merlin's work was vital to reversing what had been cast over them and therefore knew it was vital for her not to be interrupted. Not as often as she had been anyway. The Lion Sin had seen how it had affected Merlin and he was worried that she would burn herself out managing so much. As a result he would do his best to support her and take that weight off her.

"Wonderful," Gowther gave him a smile, eyes seeming to glimmer with excitement but they lacked emotion. "I've been observing you for the past few days and can't help but notice how loyal you are to Merlin. Is there a specific reason for that? Or is it just normal childlike behaviour?"

At this question Escanor flushed, being caught off guard from the abrupt and frank question. A question that others would normally ask within a private setting and perhaps phrased much better. A lot better than the analytical and literal way Gowther had asked.

"Well - you see..."

"Escanor here has an infatuation with Merlin," Ban chuckled, grinning as he ruffled the ginger's hair.

"An infatuation?" Gowther's brows furrowed, a hand coming to tap his chin as he tilted his head.

"Yes an infatuation," Ban stated, the grin still in place. "It's when someone...um...when someone..."

Ban frowned as he struggled to remember the meaning of the word he had used. A word that he most definitely had known the meaning of before, despite not seeming like the smartest cookie in the jar. However as he tried to recall it now all that came up was a blank mind, his head and thoughts cleared of the meaning.

"He means when someone loves someone very much," Elizabeth bounced into the picture, a blush blooming on her cheeks as the words left her. "My sister Veronica told me the meaning and said that Margaret had one on Gilthunder."

Ban nodded at her words, immediately saying that he knew that and that the hangover was just messing with him. Escanor simply froze at this, not denying nor admitting to the words, however his expression and shade gave him away.

Gowther however took this as a learning curve and studied the situation before speaking.

"Oh I see," The doll nodded, his hair bobbing with the motion. "It's like an undying love for someone even if it isn't returned."

"Um...kinda?" Elizabeth shrugged, uncertain, "Maybe ask Merlin or Sir Meliodas. I'm sure they'd know."

Gowther nodded at this, processing the words before thanking the princess.

"Yes I will, thank you for the information," He then left the group, heading towards where he knew the Captain to frequent. Escanor sighed at this, a hand swiping over his face before he followed the doll. He knew that if the Captain failed to explain this to him, then Gowther would turn to Merlin. Someone who did not want to be disturbed at the current moment.

"Undying?" Ban frowned as he scratched his head, his mind trying to find the meaning of the word. "Ya know what that means?"

"Not a clue," Elizabeth gave him a smile before heading off to find something to do.

Ban groaned as he was left with the mystery of the word, cursing whoever made them kids again for making him feel so stupid.

"Look how high up I am Diane!" Elizabeth beamed as she leaned out from the top branch of the tree.

The princess had somehow managed to climb up the huge thing, her form standing out against the leaves. It had been a long and treacherous climb, the branches thick and far apart. It had been multiple times that Elizabeth had managed to catch her skirt, tearing the fabric, but still persisting. Her hands were now red from having to haul her weight onto branches, however the view and experience were worth it.

All of the land was stretched below the princess, flat and colourful from the height. Greens, blues, browns and dots of other colours dotted the fields and land of Britannia, creating a jigsaw of land and water. Rivers cut through expanses of green and the raised land of hills and mountains made it seem as if the world had grown. But who could also forget what lay above? The sky was a crystal blue, clear of clouds after the heavy rain of the day before.

The sun had gently beat down on the princess, the rays warm and loving against her flesh as she looked down below. In fact the sunlight had made the sight more beautiful, the light refracting in the leftover raindrops and morning dew, creating rainbows and prisms of light.

Oh the view was definitely wonderful. It was like flying, well from what she had heard about it, and the wind could openly hit her face and move her hair. A sensation that made her feel free and breathless ad she took in the view below.

"Oh wow Elizabeth, you're really high up!" Diane smiled back, although she was worried with the princess hanging out of the tree some comfortably. She couldn't help but feel anxious as she watched her friend, hoping that she wouldn't fall.

"I know! The view's amazing!" Elizabeth smiled, looking to her other side and spotting King and Meliodas. She waved towards them, smiling wider as she did so. "Sir King! Sir Meliodas!"

The two turned to see Elizabeth, both smiling although sharing the same expression as Diane. No-one could deny it was a large tree that Elizabeth had climbed, one that a child wouldn't usually climb up unless they were fearless. Something Elizabeth seemed to prove to be in both her child and normal self. But they weren't as worried about Elizabeth falling while standing where she was, it was more coming back down.

The princess' clumsy streak wasn't unknown and although she may have seemed more nimble as a child, the possibility of her falling was still there. If she did take a tumble it would most likely end with a serious injury.

"You think she'll be ok coming down?" King turned to the blonde who was waving back at the princess.

"Maybe," Meliodas spoke as they made their way towards Diane.

She smiled as she spotted them, offering the Captain a wave and hugging King. She also commented on how she was glad that King was out of his mopey phase before focusing on the princess who was still up in the tree.

"I've tried to convince her to come down," The giantess sighed as she looked at Elizabeth. She placed a hand over her eyes as she studied the spot the princess was stationed at. "I'm worried about her falling off. But she seems to want to stay."

At this Elizabeth waved at them, now seated on a branch as she took in the scene below her. She hummed a tune as she swung her legs, content with being so high up. She felt like she belonged here after all, like she had had wings in a past life. That would explain why being outside helped her to think when she felt her lowest. That she was most at home outdoors where she would've been most free if she had wings in a past life.

"Don't you want to come down yet Elizabeth?" Diane asked as time seemed to tick by slower and slower.

"Not yet," The princess called back down. Then an idea struck her as she looked down at the trio below her. "Why don't you guys come up? The view's amazing and it's really easy to climb up here."

At this news Diane seemed a little nervous. As a giant she hadn't really climbed much as a lot of things were small to her. Climbing trees wasn't really something she had done as a child nor adult and it wasn't something she was feeling too happy to try. After all bugs often inhabited trees and bugs were yucky.

"I'll think I'll pass," Diane smiled slightly, trying to hide that she had thought of bugs. She then turned to King and Meliodas. "What about you two?"

"I think I'll stay down here too," King agreed with the giantess, knowing that he didn't have much physical strength. If he was to try and climb the tree, king would most likely end up with a broken limb or perhaps getting stuck at a certain point. Plus he could always fly up to the point that Elizabeth was at anyway. The fairy wasn't missing anything when Elizabeth was describing the breathtaking views she was taking in.

"More fun for me I guess," Meliodas shrugged as he approached the tree.

He then began to make his way up, King and Diane now worrying about them both as the blonde went higher up. Soon he was on the branch below Elizabeth and the princess smiled as she noticed that someone had bothered to climb up. She extended a hand to help him up and he gratefully accepted it, although climbing the tree hadn't been too bad. Like Elizabeth had said it was easy.

"Isn't it amazing?" Elizabeth beamed, turning to the view.

It was sunset now, the height making the sun look like a giant burning orb as it disappeared below the horizon. The sky was streaked with pinks and orange, the clouds tinged with the colours as they floated above.

It had been many years since Meliodas had seen a sunset from this height. From a point of view that was like three thousand years ago. When he had been with the first Elizabeth and she had shown him the sunset saying that it was her favourite time of day. A time between darkness and light. He had smiled at that, saying that she was too innocent for the world. Now he found himself doing the same as he stood beside this Elizabeth looking at a similar sight.

"Yeah, it is..."

And she smiled back, glad that he saw the same sight she did.
