Welcome back to Their World! Last time, Peter swung by the tower, bringing along a certain blue, chill and lickable hedgehog. What happens next? Read on!

However, before we begin, I just want to thank you for the positive reception the fanfic has received so far! I really appreciate it! With that in mind, let's get to the review responses!

Kaidhicksii: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! Reading it still makes my day! Also, congrats in advance on the crossover!

Me: Thank you! Like I said last chappie, I haven't actually written the MCU's Irondad and Spiderson before, so it's nice to know their characterization has hit the mark, so to speak.

gwb620: Thanks! As for where it goes, here's another chapter!

Chapter Two

After leaving the tower, the humans and hedgehog had decided to buy some food from a local bodega that Peter called Mr Delmar's (while keeping the spandex-wearing teen and the big blue alien hedgehog who may-or-may not be Felix the Cat's distant cousin sufficiently hidden), so here they were, currently sitting in the genius-billionaire-philanthropist's lab and eating sandwhiches. As Tony bit into his sandwhich, he watched the hedgehog talking to Underoos and absorbed himself in his thoughts.

Was this hedgehog to be trusted?

He hadn't seemed too suspicious so far, and Peter was even comfortable enough around him to take off his mask -which was saying something considering the kid's fixation on keeping his onsie-wearing persona a secret-, but he and the Avengers team -back when they were united- had a pretty bad experience with aliens (to put it lightly), and that was one too many.

At that moment, Sonic spoke:

"Thanks for the grub, guys. It's been a long while since I had an actual meal."

Tony hummed noncomitally, but Peter, ever the one to look out for the little guy, spoke up, concerned.

"What do you mean by that? Is something wrong... Where you're from?"

The cerulean hedgehog's expression clouded over slightly before he let out a weary sigh.

"It's a long story." Before the humans could react, he continued: "My world is practically a warzone right now."

Stark turned to him, now at full attention. He ignored the dry voice in his head remarking that good old Rogers would the go-to person to talk to about warzones.

"Let me take it from the top. It started because of Eggman."

"The pudgy mustachioed guy from the video games?" piped up Underoos, scratching his head.

"Believe it or not, I know more than one of those, but yeah." Affirmed Sonic, a small smirk flitting across his face for a moment. "So basically, he sicced this guy named Infinite on me. The thing is, though, he was no joke. He came with allies too, and one of them was a... friend of mine. To put it simply, they kicked me around like a big blue ball."

"Ouch." Remarked Peter, wincing. Sonic nodded, and Tony, becoming uncomfortably reminded of Siberia, motioned for the blue hedgehog to continue, so he did.

"Anyway, I was captured and put in a cell to rot. Then one day Infinite roughed me up and warped me here, and the rest is history. The thing is, from what I learned while I was stuck there, Eggman made moves on the world while I was imprisoned. I'm sure my friends are putting up a good fight, but... they aren't winning."

After taking a moment to digest the rest of the story, Peter asked Sonic if he had any way to get back, to which the rodent shook his read.

'Figures that he wouldn't have some magical gem in his quills.' thought Tony. At that moment, Peter looked at the inventor, and he had a sinking feeling about what the kid would say next.

"Is there anything you can do, Mr. Stark?" asked his protege, as the extraterrestrial rodent also turned to look at him expectantly. Stark thought about it for a moment. A teleportation device could probably be feasible, but he wasn't exactly sure where the planet was located. But maybe...

Tony took one look at the puppy dog eyes his protege was giving him and sighed. So much for peace and quiet.

"I guess it won't hurt to try."

Sonic and Peter both smiled brightly and exclaimed a "Thanks!" and "Thanks, man!" respectively.

"Don't mention it. Now, don't you have a morning patrol to be participating in, Underoos?"

Peter's eyes widened and he slipped on his mask. "Oh, yeah, I gotta go!"

"Can I come along? I have to stretch my legs." Said the hedgehog, finishing the last of his sandwhich.

"Sure, if you're up for it." affirmed the Spider-kid, grabbing his sandwhich. Sonic just smirked in response as they rushed out of the workshop, with a "Thanks again!" from the hedgehog.

Stark waved them off as they left and shook his head fondly.

"So, you've been doing this for a while?" asked Sonic, landing on solid concrete. After leaving the Avengers Tower, the duo had decided to travel through the city as they patrolled in their own different ways; Sonic leapt from rooftop to rooftop with his powerful leg muscles, while the onesie-wearing superhero -Peter, as he was called- had decided to literally swing from building to building with some kind of web-like substance that that was well at home with the spider motif.

"You could say that." replied the Spider-kid, breathily, shooting another web that latched on to a building and swinging from it. "Gotta be a friendly neighbourhood spider."

"I can respect that." said Sonic, nimbly leaping onto yet another rooftop and enjoying the boost of adrenaline from leaping inbetween buildings, something he didn't get to do often since the whole Chaos incident in Station Square. The hedgehog wondered if the Earth city had ever managed to recover from the massive flooding and collateral damage that occurred during the Perfect Chaos debacle, when the creature had absorbed all the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds, forcing Sonic to go golden with the leftover positive energy.

The hedgehog frowned, running across another rooftop as another matter made itself known.

Chaos had been one of the people who beat him up during the first altercation he had with Infinite. He'd managed to nullify the evil from Chaos' heart after the Station Square battle, and from the few times they'd seen each other afterwards, they were pretty cool, so.. why was he working for Eggman again? And where was Tikal? She'd been around the first time that Chaos had gone rogue, so why was she completely absent during the whole affair? Some things just weren't adding up, and the hedgehog didn't like it.

His thoughts about inconsistencies, real-life plotholes, and villains with mad Sonicball skills were interrupted when Spider-boy landed on the rooftop he just hopped onto and ran alongside him.

"Want to try out the rooftop hopping method, huh?" quipped Sonic, cracking a mirthful smile.

"Heh, Maybe!" Peter supplied back, the cheeky grin on his face audible as the two simultaneously hopped off the building and stuck a landing on a lower roof as Spider-ling rolled to absorb the shock and Sonic tanked it, landing on both feet before both shot off running, the Blue Blur of course slowing down to accommodate the human's speed (though he ran surprisingly fast for such a skinny frame, but the hedgehog couldn't exactly be the judge of that).

To be honest, it reminded him of whenever he went on adventures with Tails and Knuckles, or even when racing with Shadow. Just like those times, he could share the exhilarating feeling with another person, and that made the experience even better.

His smile turned slightly bitter at the thought of the striped hedgehog, who too had gone rogue, but he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and focused on the moment when he was finally doing something familiar in this crazy day.

He, however, did not neglect to make a mental note to smack some sense into the black-and-red faker when he got back.

A few more buildings later, Sonic and Peter stopped at an elevated rooftop to use as a vantage point and to catch a breather.

"So, what now?" asked Sonic, making himself comfortable on the roof by sitting down. "Do we just wait until something happens?"

"Pretty much. It can get very uneventful at times." replied Peter, shrugging. So, the waiting game it was. Sonic wasn't exactly the most patient person, but he decided to wait anyway.

As they sat the Mobian reflected on the events of the day and the people he met. The human named Stark seemed like a pretty cool guy, and pretty snarky as well. It also seemed that he had a love for tinkering with machines if the room filled with blueprints and machines in various stages of completion was any indication. Sonic subtly smiled, knowing that a certain two-tailed fox would love it there.

As for Peter, the kid had spunk, and his excitable personality yet again reminded him of his twin-tailed little brother, if the hedgehog was honest. However, Sonic had dealt with human kids before -one of the most notable being a boy named Chris who had saved him from a watery death in a pool- and when he'd taken off his mask off, though, he looked and sounded pretty young, probably only fifteen at the most. And while he respected the Spider-ling's drive and knew heroes even younger than his age, he couldn't but help but be curious as to why the kid was patrolling the streets on a Saturday morning. He had heard that humans took their weekends pretty seriously, after all.

"Hey, Peter?" Sonic found himself asking.

"Yeah?" came the reponse. Oh well, here went nothing...

"What motivates you to... Do all this? Y'know, be a hero?"

The human paused for a moment before turning to the hedgehog with a somber expression that he could percieve even behind the mask.

"Well.. If bad things happen and you have the power to do something but don't... The bad things happen because of you."

It was at that moment, that Blue Blur understood. The cerulean Mobian smiled.

"You know, I couldn't have said it better myself."

The two shared a nod of understanding before the other human gave him a pensive look and spoke up again.

"Well... I have a question too."

"Shoot."

"Is it true that you got kissed on the lips by a princess?"

Sonic visibly blanched. He instantly knew that the human got that from the video games, and he mentally cursed the fact they implemented that little gem.

"That never happened."

Peter snickered, seeming to have found a way to exact payback for being double-snarked by the alien and Stark, was about to make a comment when they heard a gunshot coming from a nearby store. The two heroes jolted to alarm and stood up as they watched five men holding guns and wearing ski masks entering the establishment, the gunshot obviously coming from one of them who had entered the building.

"Looks like this weekend isn't gonna be so uneventful anymore." remarked the Blue Blur, getting ready to run. To his perplexion, the teen said "Karen, what are we dealing with?"

A feminine voice responded from the suit, saying "The criminals are holding standard-issue weapons."

"Who's that?" asked Sonic.

"Uh, that's my suit's AI, Karen." responded the crime-fighter.

Sonic hummed. "You have any experience with dodging bullets?" The teen may have been a superhero, but Sonic wasn't exactly sure of how extensive his powers were, and he wasn't going to risk getting the human hurt.

The human, sensing the intent, just nodded, and without another word Sonic the Hedgehog and Spider-Man darted towards the store.

And that's another chapter! A quick note, after some research of release dates, I've decided to set Sonic Forces' beginning in May for the purposes of this fan fiction's universe.

Any critiques will be appreciated! See you next chapter!
