Change is in the air
"Elizabeth, since you visited a parallel world of this one did you know anything about Whitley Schnee?" Yuuki asked as the three walked down the street.
Elizabeth shook her head "No, none at all. All I really know about the Schnee is that it's a major cooperation that deals mainly with Dust and that a Weiss Schnee is an heiress to the company who was training to be a Huntsmen at Beacon, the same Beacon that was attacked and didn't fare well in this timeline"
Yuuki winced a little "Sorry, do you think the people you met would be okay in this timeline?"
Elizabeth nodded with a knowing smile "Trust me, that lot is harder to keep down than cockroaches. I'm sure they're still fighting strong" the Velvet Room Attendant paused for a moment as she searched her mind for any particular info "I think Weiss mentioned a little brother once, though I'm uncertain with how accurate that information is for here"
Minato re-read the message delivered to them, seeing if a second reading would provide any new information but finding nothing else "We can ask Dr Polendina and Penny, see if they know anything. Besides, I want to see for myself how the doctor is doing now"
"Am I the only one imagining Dr Polendina using those aura arms to move around?" Yuuki asked, as the image of Dr Polendina using his aura arms as legs and extra arms has been stuck in her head after she saw him use his aura arms for the first time and her mind instantly went to those old superhero movies she'd seen with her friends during their watch parties.
Minato paused for a moment before turning to face Yuuki "Well, not anymore your not"
The group came to a stop when they heard what sounded like fighting nearby, going to over to investigate they saw Atlas soldiers being surrounded by plain clothed people with weapons visible on their person.
It became very apparent that while everyone was armed no one present wanted to be the one to actually use their weapon, the hesitation present with everyone made it clear they didn't want this to escalate.
However, it was clear the plain clothed people weren't civilians. If not for the custom weapons they wielded, the same type the Huntsmen of this world used, then their levels being around the same as the soldiers they were facing off against proved it without a doubt.
From the shadows another member of the plain clothed group jumped out and drop kicked a soldier to the ground before stomping on their back with a crackle of Hamon energy encircling their leg, they grabbed something from the downed soldier and ran towards a large vehicle with keys they didn't have before.
Minato expected people would use what he taught them for their own benefit, that didn't mean he was going to step aside and do nothing as they did whatever they pleased. Moving so fast it seemed more like he teleported Minato grabbed the collar of the rogue Hamon user just as they reached for the driver's door, they swung wide with their arm but their attack was easy to miss.
Getting a good look Minato recognized the person as the Faunas with a broken arm that was healed when he gave them access to Hamon, the Faunas recognized who Minato was after a moment and quickly backed away from him with the keys they stole falling to the ground.
"When I taught you Hamon, thievery was not something I wanted to see" Minato said as he placed his foot on the keys, hiding them from view and prepared to kick them off to the side if things turned violent.
The Hamon using Faunas looked to the others before running away with Hamon enhancing their physical abilities to move much faster, seeing this the others made a break for it with several through down smoke bombs to cover their escape.
A minor use of Garu was more than enough to clear the smoke with the would be thieves already being long gone.
"Are you soldiers alright?" Elizabeth asked as she and Yuuki helped the downed soldiers back to their feet.
One soldier rubbed their head, as best they could through their helmet "Yeah, just got caught off guard. I hate dealing with that lot" the female soldier's sentiment seemed to be mutual with the others, to varying extents.
Minato handed the keys to the soldier they were stolen from after they picked themselves off the ground "Thanks for the help, you really saved our butts there. We would have gotten an earful from our superior if we lost the cargo"
"Do you know who they are or why they were trying to steal the stuff in here?" Yuuki asked as she looked at the truck that was almost stolen.
"Construction supplies, and the one's you saw just now were the Happy Huntresses. At the very least that's what they looked like" the soldier who got back the keys said, the held back sigh audible in his voice "Mantle based Huntsmen and Huntresses, one's who have little remorse in stealing shipments of supplies"
Minato raised an eyebrow "Do you know why they're stealing supplies?"
"Supposedly, yes. Their very vocal about using the stolen building supplies to repair the outer walls around Mantle, not caring if the supplies being stolen aren't the ones needed for the job they want to do" The soldier answered as he went around the back of the truck to open it up to double check the cargo was still present "Which also makes it almost impossible to get the stolen supplies back without worsening the situation, leaving little alternative than ordering new supplies all over again and pushing back other projects"
"Private. Sensitive information" The female soldier said sternly, causing the other soldier to stiffen "We are very thankful for your help, but we need to get going as we have a time table to keep" the female soldier, and the one in charge of this group, offered Minato, Elizabeth and Yuuki a quick salute "We thank you for your aid to the people of Atlas, Mantle and all of Remnant"
The soldiers left soon afterwards with the supply truck as the others were left behind, after seeing them off they continued on to Dr Polendina's clinic.
|-][-|
When they walked in the first thing they noticed how sparse everything was compared to the last time they were there, the furniture was still present but any and all electronics were gone.
Hearing the sound of tools being used in the back Minato reached out to Penny 'Vale' to see if anything was wrong, turns out the lack of technology on display was partially Minato's own fault.
"Ever since you healed him dad has just been a fountain of energy!" Penny said with a smile, the ghost robot girl being just as much a fountain of energy that she said her father was "He's been blazing through designs he had on the back burner for years and has been enjoying every minute of it" Penny's smile faltered for a moment as she scratched her cheek "Although, we did get a little worried when dad started taking stuff apart for parts but it seems to have all calmed down now"
"Sorry, I should have stayed longer to make sure there weren't any side effects like this" Minato said as he saw images of Dr Polendina taking a computer monitor apart to salvage parts for a wrist mounted scroll.
Penny shook her head "No it's fine, besides I don't think these are side effects per say. Rather, I'd say dad regained the same energy that he had when he was younger" Her smile brightened for a moment before her eyes widened as she remembered something "Oh! If you going into the back to talk to him than keep you distance until he notices you, those arms are going all over the place and there is a real chance you may have something taken from your person or get hit by something"
Taking her warning seriously Minato shared it with the others before they moved closer to the back of the clinic, poking their heads into the backroom they found Dr Polendina fiddled with a small machine the took to the air.
The little drone had a screen face that made simple face expressions with dots, it flew around Dr Polendina and Penny 'Atlas' who looked at the flying drone with a sense of wonder.
Once the father and daughter noticed they had guests Dr Polendina happily welcomed them in, the five of them sitting down for tea and chit chat with them recounting the events of the day. Skipping the part about drawing the attention of the Grimm to a damage section of Mantle's walls for a quest to repair and strengthen the Kingdom's defences, and instead mainly talking about the mission they officially took and the message they received.
"Whitley Schnee? Why would he be trying to get in touch with you three?" Pietro asked, confused at the turn of events.
Yuuki shrugged "No idea, we never heard word of him so we thought we'd ask if you or Penny know anything about him"
Pietro furrowed his brow for a moment before rubbing his head, as his hair was combed back Minato noticed some colour had returned to the roots of the inventor's grey hair "Can't really say I know anything about the boy himself, his family and father on the other hand is another matter"
"I work with his sister Winter some times, mostly on missions dealing with the Grimm, she's a Special Operative and works closely with General Ironwood" Penny said as she drew the attention of the others to her "You already met her, she was the woman with white hair and blue eyes"
Yuuki's eyes widened "Oh, the Ice Queen" she tensed as the words slipped out of her mouth, she raised her hands in faux defence as she looked apologetic "Sorry, sorry. We didn't really get much in the way of introductions before so I've been calling that in my head"
Penny let out a small giggle "Well, don't say it to her face. But I can't disagree with that description, in fact I vaguely remembering her little sister Weiss was called Ice Princess so they match"
Elizabeth smiled before turning to Dr Pietro with a curious look "If you don't mind me asking, what do you know about their father? I couldn't help but notice you seemed to have excluded him from the general family statement"
Dr Pietro Polendina's expression tightened like he ate a lemon "Let's just say, not very many people care for Jacques. Nowadays he calls himself a Schnee after he took on his wife's family name, but those in Mantle and Atlas who are in the same age group as him or older know he is anything but a Schnee. Pretty sure any Gelé wouldn't take him back after what he's done" Pietro took a sip of tea to calm his nerves "Gelé was Jacques's family name originally, and none of that side of the family is anywhere in this kingdom now"
"His own family fled to escape any possible retribution directed at them over something he had done, am I guessing right?" Minato said, getting something of a picture of the man Jacques was.
Pietro nodded grimly "I'm afraid so, from what I hear Jacques didn't even make a token effort to keep his family safe. Not without them coming under his thumb entirely"
Yuuki frowned as she thought over the current situation "Sounds like your typical tyrant to me, what do you think Whitley wants from us then if you had to guess?"
Pietro looked to Penny who returned a helpless look "I haven't a clue, you don't hear much about him outside of the paid for media support of him. Rumours going around are saying Jacques is grooming Whitley to be his successor with both Weiss and Winter being disinherited already and his own wife secluded from public life, but"
"But?" Minato asked, urging the inventor to continue.
"I don't know if it's due to me seeing something that's not there, maybe looking too closely into things or being in some way hopeful" Pietro began closing his eyes for a moment "But, I like to believe there is good in his heart. Jacques blood flows through his veins, but he is not a tyrant's son. The same spark I saw inside that boy's grandfather is in him, somewhere"
Looking at the phone number provided to them for a moment Minato took out his scroll "There's one way to make sure"
No sooner had he said those words did Minato's scroll begin vibrating as a text message labelled urgent came through from Ironwood himself, it was not just him either as the same message came to Elizabeth, Yuuki and Penny herself getting an actual call from the general with all of them sharing the same message.
'Important meeting, come as quickly as possible'
The pleasant evening was cut short as the four made their way out, with Penny hugging him goodbye for the time being and the inventor sharing his contact information with Minato and co.
On the way up to Atlas to meet with General Ironwood Yuuki, Elizabeth and Minato shared a telepathic conversation.
'You know, I can't help but feel like that was a good time to ask Dr Pietro about becoming your mentor' Yuuki said mentally.
Elizabeth agreed with the younger girl 'I must agree as well, is there a reason why you didn't say anything?'
Minato mentally shrugged 'Didn't get around to asking, that and it felt too soon. It feels like I would be taking advantage of him right after I healed him, and the mere idea of that leaves a sour taste in my mouth'
'But it would be for his daughter's benefit as well as his, having him as a mentor could bring his daughter back to life. I confident lot of people would happily teach their trade if it meant getting their child back' Yuuki said, offering her viewpoint on the matter.
Elizabeth mentally nodded 'I have to side with Yuuki on this, while I understand how you feel know we can't stay here for long. If you don't act quickly than the chance may slip through your fingers'
'Oh, now that I'm thinking about it. Do you have a relationship metre for Dr Pietro and the Pennies' Yuuki asked, curious what the scores were with a part of her wondering if she had a score too.
Mentally Minato brought up the windows 'Yeah, they passed the 50 point back during our last visit. It was why I was hesitate to ask him to become my mentor'

Yuuki snorted as she tried to stop herself from laughing, Penny looked to her confused but Yuuki waved off her concern "Sorry, I remembered seeing something funny the other day and it just came back to me out of nowhere"
'I suspected you would get something like that last one, eventually' Elizabeth commented.
Minato mentally grumbled 'What's that suppose to mean?'
'Oh, the more I learn about you the more I want to see what would happen if you played VRMMO's from my world. I can literally see you making Cardinal going Doki Doki for you, maybe even end Sword Art Online before anyone died'
'Wait, how does a video game kill people?'
Before his question could be answered they arrived at General Ironwood's office with only him present as he looked over several screens at his desk, they seemed to be reports from what the group could see for the brief instance they were up before Ironwood closed the windows when he noticed they had arrived.
Once inside the doors closed behind he arriving group with a stern Ironwood looking directly at Minato and his group.
"I'll be blunt and I want a straight answer. How long does it take to teach someone Hamon to the level of it being useful in combat?" Ironwood asked, his tone leaving little room for arguments.
Minato frowned as he considered the question "One on one would take about a day, but larger groups will take longer especially in regards to getting needed equipment. Averaging a week by my estimates, though that can change due to any number of factors"
"A week, even if it's small it's better than nothing" Ironwood said to himself as he considered his options "What exactly would you need in terms of materials?"
Penny stepped forward with a concerned look "General, what has happened?"
The general looked to Penny for a moment, a flash of regret in his eyes before he lowered his head "This piece of news is going to be public soon, so there's no point in hiding it" standing straight as he addressed them, General Ironwood delivered the grim news "We have recently learnt that Mistral's Haven Academy was attacked little under an hour ago by a faction of the White Fang, while our informants are still gathering what information they can it isn't looking good"
That bombshell staggered the others in the room, for a moment the emotional detached memories of Vale and the reports of the damage done to it came to the forefront of Penny's mind.
"Is it as bad as The Fall of Beacon?" Elizabeth asked.
Ironwood shook his head "No, thankfully. But that doesn't mean things aren't bad, the Headmaster of Haven is currently MIA and very few Huntsmen have reported in from missions they have under taken. Until proven otherwise we have little other options but to consider them dead"
"And with this development you want to step up the time table for Hamon training" Minato said, summing up what Ironwood was asking "I'll make up a list of what's needed, if we're lucky we may be able to start training in a day or two. How many will be attending?"
"A hundred, we can't spare too many Huntsmen or soldiers at the minute but after we're done I'm hoping this Hamon will be the force multiplier we need to turn things around. And depending on speed we may be able to cycle personnel so more are able to receive the training" Ironwood answered as he shook hands with Minato, Yuuki and Elizabeth "If there's anything else you need don't hesitate to ask"
Minato shook his head "None comes to mind for me" Yuuki shook her head as well, although Elizabeth gave the offer much more thought.
"Perhaps, having a member of the Special Operatives working alongside us could help things. Namely in helping to combine Hamon training with the training specs ops go through" Elizabeth suggested "The older the better as it would be more of an advisory / teaching role"
Ironwood considered the suggestion and seeing it's merits nodded "Very well, I'll look into it. I await you message and I'll message you when preparations are complete"
As the General returned to his work they were escorted out, during which a new quest appeared.
Quest: I'll make Warriors of The Sun out of you!
Darkness over Remnant seems to have grown even thicker than before, train up the soldiers and huntsmen of the Kingdom of Atlas to retake the world from the Grimm tide.
Objective: Train 80 individuals to level 10 of Hamon use. [5 / 80]
Bonus Objective: Train 4.000 individuals to level 10 of Hamon use. [5 / 4.000
Bonus Objective: Train 80 individuals to level 50 of Hamon use. [0 / 80]
Bonus Objective: Train 4 individuals to level 100 of Hamon use [0 / 4]
Time Limit: [10 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes]
Failure: The muses of fate continue on their ill conceived path, total destruction of Mantle and Atlas within days of Quest Failure.
Minato did his best to keep his expression neutral when he read the quest description, he was at least grateful the quest factored in the people he and Yuuki already taught Hamon to.
|-][-|
After making up the list for Ironwood Minato set about to prepare for what was about to come, namely finishing off the Virtues. They've already given him perks that greatly accelerated his ability to learn and teach skills to others, hopefully completing the set would give some bonus to help things along.
He wouldn't be sleeping tonight as Minato was spending an all nighter with the Virtues.
Coming to a familiar sight of rows of doors Minato debated on which one to enter next, looking at the three visible doors of Patience, Temperance and Kindness Minato eventually picked which one he was doing first.
With his back to Gluttony Minato stood before Temperance and entered with firm determination, as he stepped through the door and found himself on a river bank next to a road with a bridge stretching over the river down stream from where Minato was.
Getting onto the road Minato kept his eye out for the 'Archangel of Temperance', yet no matter where he looked he could find heads nor tail of the latest angel.
'Right, where would they be?' Minato thought to himself as an hour had passed and there was still no sign of the angel for the quest, normally they would have shown up by now so that either meant Temperance was another 'Ninja Angel' or Minato would have to find them.
As he thought over his last four encounter with these so called 'Archangels' there was a trend with them, with the exception of Michael each one didn't truly follow the virtue they were meant to upheld. Thinking this Minato stumbled upon several food trucks with an ice cream van near a park with picnic tables nearby for people to sit down and eat if they didn't want to sit on the ground.
Minato's expression set into a firm line as he went to check out the trucks, sure enough he found who he was looking for as the 'Archangel of Temperance, Raphael' was happily eating sweets at a table.
A bit of ice cream fell from her cone and onto her very small sailor fuku, however the more he looked the more Minato noticed that compared to the others Raphael seemed the most fashion conscious. At the very least she was wearing accessories and wore the most normal outfit, albeit one that was still extremely tiny and hid nothing.
Seeing that she was having genuine issue cleaning up the spilled ice cream Minato went over and offered her a tissue to help clean herself up, though he had to politely look away due to the cleaning method Raphael was using.
"Thanks, it's really embarrassing when your desserts get everywhere and you have no way to clean them up" Raphael said as she finally turned to Minato, her eyes locking on him for a moment like the others before "Say, how does some dessert sound? As way of saying thanks, my treat"
Giving it some thought Minato agreed, seeing no problem with the offer and a little hungry himself. Going to a pastry shop Minato selected a few things for himself, something of a small lunch worth, meanwhile Raphael's selection was easily more extensive.
The two kept an equal eating pace and whereas Minato was halfway done with his desserts Raphael barely made a dent in her stockpile of sugary delights.
"So, are you saving the rest for later?" Minato asked, feeling the Persona of Raphael and the Persona of the actual Archangel of Temperance Cassiel looking at the barely dressed woman as she gorged herself on sweets.
Raphael shook her head "No way, eating them fresh is the best. Wait too long and they start to lose their taste or get rock hard" she said before taking another bite from a doughnut "And wasting food is just a terrible thing considering the lengthy process going into making it, besides it's part of a new diet I'm trying out"
"Well, can't argue with that" Minato admitted, taking a bite from his doughnut before looking to Raphael with a raised eyebrow "What exactly is this new diet anyway?"
Raphael's face lit up "Oh, it's a clever little thing. Basically, I eat whatever I want and then go on a fast for a week before eating whatever I want again"
Minato grew concerned at what he was just told as the Personas of Raphael and Cassiel facepalmed "I'm confident that diet wouldn't work, your just jumping from one extreme to another"
Raphael pouted at his words "It balances out"
"I'd hardly call jumping from one extreme to another counts as 'balancing out'" Minato said as he let out a sigh, he himself was guilty of going from one extreme to another at one point but that was mainly him faking having normal emotions when he had the Ego fragment of [NYX] inside of him.
Minato took another bite from his doughnut "Besides, eating too many sweets at once can dilute the taste of them. Sure your getting the full thing with the first few, but after a while it starts to mix together" finishing off his doughnut Minato checked his bag of pastries and saw they still had a few left, deciding to save them for later he rolled up the top of the bag "Besides, I'm pretty sure starving yourself for a week and then eating whatever you like could-"
Whatever Minato was going to say was cut off as Raphael fell down face first, the way she fell leaving her butt on full display for everyone to see.
'Is that an actual thong!?' the Persona of Raphael exclaimed just as Minato helped Raphael onto the sit they were on moments before, giving her a once over he was able to confirm that she was fine for the most part. Likely her passing out was due to the diet she was one, as he considered what to do next it became clear this was not the best place for Raphael to rest due to the amount of people so he decided to take her somewhere more peaceful.
However, Minato quickly released he had one problem with that plan. A problem that required a quick stop to buy something.
When Raphael started to wake up she found herself being given a piggyback ride from Minato, and as she started to come to she noticed she was wearing something new. Looking over herself the best she could Raphael saw she was wearing a duster coat over her clothes, another thing she notices was that the sun was going down as the day neared it's end, as she moved around Minato noticed she was up.
"Hey, are you feeling alright?" Minato asked as he stopped for a moment to talk.
Raphael rubbed her eyes "Yeah, looks like you were right about the whole diet thing"
Minato tried to shrug as best he could given the current situation "It's an understandable mistake to make, of two extremes balancing one another, I think everyone is a little guilty of that. Myself included"
Raphael raised her arm to look at the coat she was wearing, as she did she noticed a price tag was still attached to it "Why am I wearing this?"
Minato turned his head to make sure Raphael could see his blank expression "Because there was no possible way for me to carry you without showing the whole world your butt otherwise, I got it to preserve both our dignity"
Blushing more than she would have liked to admit Raphael closed the top of the coat with one hand gripping the middle together while the other helped keep her balance on Minato along with her legs wrapping around him.
"Thank you" Raphael said quietly, she looked around as she didn't want to look at Minato at the moment "So, what do you do Messiah?"
"Right now, I'm going to college to become a Doctor. Though recent events have left me" Minato paused as he considered what to call his second dimensional displacement "Going on something of a gap year"
"A Doctor, that's really impressive" Raphael said, her expression becoming becoming thoughtful "That's, a really intensive road to take. Eight years right?"
Minato nodded "Yep, likely longer as I'm looking into be a psychologist as well"
Raphael hummed, considering everything Minato said and the implications "I guess you couldn't be The Messiah and study to be a doctor at the same time"
"Trust me, I'm more than experienced with leading a double life. I managed to get to the top of my class one year when the club I was in did intensive community service and just last year I was working three jobs, going to school and making time to hang out with my friends" Minato said, a little proud of himself for pulling all that off, as he tried to ease the worry that slipped into Raphael's voice.
Raphael sputtered at Minato's words "How'd you pull that off!?"
"Time management and balancing things as best I could" Minato answered, a fond smile tugging at his lips "That, and I had people to help me. If it wasn't for them, I'd likely burn myself out"
"Hmm, well" Raphael leaned closer to Minato "I guess I could help you out with things, and if the other candidates are good enough they could act as understudies when your too messy. Lord Messiah~"
Minato nodded "Spreading out the burden so one person doesn't have to carry the weight of the world sounds like a good idea, almost sounds like a team of heroes" already he could feel how the world around them was converging on him like it had before, only this time he tried to push it back for the time being.
Temperance was about balancing things, moderating self interest with the interest of others, and while the others gave their opinion Minato was curious what the supposed 'Archangel of Temperance' would say about.
"Speaking of which, there's something I need to ask you. Basically I want you opinion on a little situation I'm currently experiencing" Minato said as he came to a complete stop to give Raphael a chance to get off, but it seemed like she didn't want to.
"...It's not something pervy is it?" Raphael said, Minato not being able to see her face or read the tone of her voice "Your pants aren't getting tighter, are they?"
'This lot are perverts even by human standards' Persona Raphael sighed deeply, hope that all of the virtues were only perverted in appearance running low quick.
Minato ignored Raphael poking his cheek as he answered "No, nothing like that. The thing is I need something from an old man I helped recently to help his daughter with an issue she rather keep private, but I don't want to ask the father so soon after helping as it feels a bit wrong to me"
Raphael hummed "If the father knew it was to help his daughter, would he accept if he knew everything?"
"Yeah, he loves his daughters and he wouldn't hesitate to help in anyway he could. If he knew the whole situation" Minato answered "Really, all I need is him being my mentor for a little while to teach me a bit of his trade"
"And there's your answer, sure maybe not asking the same day if you can help it but it sounds like your overthinking things" Raphael hugged herself closer to Minato so that the two were cheek to cheek "Hey, do you want to grab something quick to eat? I could really go for something right now, we could share it"
Minato considered the offer "Sure, I could go for some salad and fruit" he didn't need to look to know Raphael was pouting "We're sharing like you offered, I'll finish off what you can't but you are eating something other than sweet treats"
"D-do you know what they say, about two people finishing each other's food?" Raphael asked, her expression out of sight from Minato meaning he wasn't able to see her blush.
Frowning, Minato searched his mind for the answer. If he did know what people say it wasn't coming to him then. He shook his head to answer Raphael's question.
"Oh, well. Never mind, it's not that important. Let's go get some fruit and veggies, I'll take the fruits and you can have the vegetables" Raphael said with a grin, Minato rolling his eyes at her words. Raphael was very mistaken if she thought Minato was going to get some fruit for himself.
The world converged on Minato the next instant as the force holding it off gave away, his passenger melting away as she disappeared.

Dismissing the messages window Minato turned his attention to the other two visible Virtue doors, deciding to go to the nearest one he chose to enter Kindness next. With his back to Envy Minato entered the threshold to begin his sixth virtue quest, his eyes squinted as they adjusted to the sudden change in light.
And the next instant, everything went black.
Alarmed Minato tried to figure out what was happening, he didn't sense any type of danger and his limbs were completely free. While hampered slightly his breathing wasn't completely cut off, yet.
And yet, strangely, it felt oddly familiar.
Oh.
It was in that moment Minato remembered the times Gabriel, the one from the other world Minato found himself in (DxD), met and the way she greeted him which usually involved some level of smothering. It had became custom for the Angels in that world to hug him whenever possible, and it all started when he gave Michael a hug after they met in person.
'Huh, guess you ran face first into this one'
He didn't care which Persona said that as Minato took several large steps back, his turning his back to the person he bumped into as he kept his expression blank as he took deep breaths.
"Oh dear, are you alright Messiah? You look a little pale"
"Yes, I'm fine. Sorry for bumping into like that" Minato said as he turned around to be at more eye level with the latest 'Archangel'. Only he didn't see her eyes, just her breasts.
Minato had to crane his neck upward to make eye contact with the statuesque woman before him, 7'2 tall or around 220 cms meant that most people would see her chest before her face even if they didn't intend to.
And with Minato at only 5'7 or 170 cms that meant when he accidentally walked into the 'Archangel' he walked face first into her chest. Overall, Kindness seemed to be the largest of these 'lewd Archangels'
'I really hope the others didn't see that, and the twins could keep a secret' Minato thought to himself as he got a good look at 'the Archangel of Kindness Sariel'
Aside from her impressive height she wore gold armour with a bit of clothe underneath it, not covering a lot by any means. Her long blond hair was down in pony tail braid that went down to the base of her back with the front of her hair done in two slightly different styles to draw attention to her heterochromia eyes with one yellow and the other blue.
Minato took a step back as Sariel bent down towards him "You look exhausted, come here and let me pamper you~"
The next moment Sariel picked him up and carried Minato off, he barely had time to register what was happening as Sariel carried him off in her arms. His protests being ignored by the angel as she carried him to a story house, a luxurious fully furnished place soon filled with relaxing music and the smell of food.
'Well, let's see what this benevolent angel of Death is planning' The Persona of Sariel commented as he watched on, his skeletal features unmoving as he gripped his scythe tightly.
True to her word Sariel began pampering Minato, dotting on him and showering him with affection with headpats, food and shoving her breasts in his face whenever possible. The first few times Minato wrote it off as accidents but it became increasingly obvious that wasn't the case.
Minato kept a wide berth between him and Sariel's centre mass, especially when a single hit from them sent him flying across the room when they swung into his head. The memory of almost being defeated by a Shadow that took the form of a flying table came to his mind during his brief time airborne, realization of the true danger of Sariel's secret weapons filling Minato's mind as his vision spun for a few moments.
"Messiah! Are you alright? Here, let me kiss it better" Sariel concern was appreciated but being lifted up like a doll wasn't, as soon as she was sure Minato didn't need healing he managed to talk her into letting him back on the ground.
"I'm fine, don't worry so much" Minato said as he thought of a way to get some control of the situation, since the moment he walked through the door Sariel had being pampering him to an absurd degree.
Though she meant well, he could tell, it was suffocating.
Clearing his throat Minato turned to Sariel "While I am grateful for the kindness you've showed me it doesn't feel right if I don't return the favour in some way, we could talk for a bit and decide on what you want to do"
"Oh, don't fret. I'm having a fabulous ti-" Sariel paused, her nose twitching moments before she sneeze.
Minato didn't know what it was but he could feel a fast approaching danger from Sariel's sneeze, the word her face scrunched up as she tried to hold it in being enough to tell him there was no way to stop it from coming. His eyes being drawn as something inside him was screaming at him about the 'Archangel's' right yellow eye, Sariel was said to possess an Evil Eye that harms those it falls upon… meaning that eye was-
"Achoo!"
Sariel's yellow eye glowed with holy power that burst outward, it being enough to cause a large explosion had Minato not nullified the attack by raising his hand and using Null Light. Lowering his hand a little Minato noticed Sariel had her eyes shut tight, hesitantly she slowly began to open them and looked around as he concern quickly turned to confusion.
"Nothing happened?" she looked around and make sure everything was real "But, I felt my evil eye activate"
"If your talking about that explosion of holy power, I nullified any damage it could do" Minato answered, seeing the puzzled expression Sariel was making he encouraged her to throw balls of light at him.
Still confused at what had just happened she didn't question him as she created a few harmless balls of holy light and tossed them to Minato.
Not only showing off his ability to nullify Sariel's 'attacks' but even showing how he was able to resist, absorb and even reflect them back. The demonstration of reflect light going on longer than Minato originally planned as it devolved into a sudden game of ping pong between the two, it was only after the game was over did they continue on with the discussion at hand.
"That's amazing! You truly are the Messiah if your able to do such things with Holy Light so naturally, such innate gifts cannot be overlooked" Sariel praised Minato with a joyful look in her eyes, though that joy faded a bit when she saw Minato frowning at him.
Calling up some Light magic of his own Minato made balls of light he juggled in one hand "This power, being able to Manipulate, Null, Resist, Absorb and Reflect Light, it wasn't something I could always do" he remembered Tartarus, the Tower of Demise and the Shadows that it their nest "It took a great deal of self reflection, gaining a new level of understanding of myself and others, and overcoming many trials to be able to do this, and I'm a better person because of it"
Sariel having a conflicted expression as she wasn't sure of what to say "It sounds quite the ordeal to go through, especially for one so young"
Minato nodded before deciding to be up front with Sariel "You have a very kind heart, but too much kindness can be cruel as well. For yourself and others"
"H-How could kindness possibly in anyway be cruel?" The 'Archangel' asked, not understanding how such a thing was possible.
"It can cause those being showered in that same kindness to stop growing, and possibly even regress if things are particularly bad" Minato stopped for a moment as he considered an example to help illustrate his point "Consider the saying of 'give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but teach him how to fish and he won't go hungry for the rest of his days' and looking at it with kindness in mind"
"Isn't that in regards to self reliance?" Sariel asked, not certain where Minato was taking things.
Minato nodded "It is, but it can be used to talk about kindness. Yes, without a doubt it's a kind act to give food to those that need it, but it could be seen as a greater kindness to give themselves the means of feeding themselves so that they could share that same kindness with others. Giving kindness to those in need and helping them achieve self reliance, but being mindful that too much or too little aid would be a detriment to not only the one your trying to help but even yourself"
"You, have a point there" Sariel admitted, as she started to question if her pampering her candidate was for their sake or her own.
"It's a hard thing to accept, especially for some parents. After all, their children will need to grow up and leave the nest one day. Metaphorically speaking" Minato said, his words seemingly striking a cord with Sariel somewhat "All children leave the cradle eventually, having the strength to let them go is a kindness many a mother perform in silence" he paused for a moment as he reconsidered what he just said "On second thought, I'm not sure if many are silent on letting their children leave home"
Sariel looked around the room filled with scented candles, pillows, food and all manner of other things she used to pamper Minato "I can't say your wrong, looking at things now my Kindness may have encouraged slothful behaviour"
"Pampering someone once and a while isn't bad, if that's what you want to do, we all need a break once in a while but we do need to return to the hassle and bustle" clapping his hands together Minato directed a smile at Sariel "Now, with all that being said. Let me return your kindness with some of my own, what would you like to eat as I'll make you anything you want"
Sariel blushed at the offer "Your offering to pamper me now, Lord Messiah?"
"Kindness repaid with Kindness. Seems fair, no" Minato answered. As he looked around to see what they had to work with Minato realized they didn't have a lot of food for a proper meal, only really having hand foods.
After visiting a grocery store for ingredients, with Sariel insisting on getting the things from the top shelves and Minato refusing for her to lift him up to reach it better.
"Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you both" the human and the 'Archangel' look off to the side to see a young lady talking to them "I know these may come off as odd, but my friends and I were looking to buy some beer. Problem is, we don't have ID with us" the girl looked nervous, her eyes drifting off to the side to her friends outside before quickly turning back to Minato and Sariel before putting her hands together and bowed her head "I'm so sorry, could you buy us some beer. We promise to pay you back"
"Hmm, I don't know-" Sariel began to say, the girl raising her head with puppy dog eyes before she quickly found herself embraced by Sariel "Oh! Of course you poor child, it's no issue at all. What sort of fabulous beverage are you all looking for?"
The girl barely managed to pry her head free of the twin peaks of Sariel before answering "Anything will do, we love all kinds of beer. Chug it all the time, like we drink it like water and other stuff" she managed to get free the rest of herself free before stepping away from Sariel "I'll, be outside"
"Fabulous, darling" Sariel said as the girl left.
Minato frowned, well aware she never mentioned her age "I'm pretty sure she and her friends are too young to drink alcohol"
Sariel paused as she looked down to Minato, whose eyes began scanning the shelves that had beer stocked "Are you sure, she could have been honest with simply forgetting her ID"
"Possibly, but the way she stumbled over her words when you asked about what she wanted proved to me she's underage" Minato answered as he spotted what he was looking for, as he reached out for a case of beer he looked over the packaging for a specific piece of information.
Sariel frowned as her expression became conflicted, looking between her Messiah and the girl she just met outside the store's windows "If they are underage, like you say, are you going to buy them alcohol like they asked anyway?"
"They asked for beer, not alcohol" Minato smiled as he found what he was looking for. ABV 0% "And with a lot of things, the devil is in the detail"
Purchasing the alcohol free beer and handing it to the girl from earlier Minato and Sariel parted ways with them, though staying out of sight as they tried the drink that was actually legal for them and quickly finding they didn't like the taste of it. The group tossing out their unfinished cans as they went home, disappointed yet satisfied with how things went, once they were out of sight Minato went over and picked up an unopened can of beer.
"Was that the right thing to do?" Sariel asked as she saw her Messiah open the can and sampled the beer, he gave it an appreciated look before drinking.
Minato shrugged "Who knows, but it seems like a fair compromise. They get to taste beer and show off how 'adult' they are, all the while not doing anything that would damage their bodies" taking another sip from his non-alcoholic beer Minato nodded "This is actually pretty good as far as the beer's I've tasted goes, guess they weren't the type to like these sorts of drinks anyway"
"An act of kindness than, though one I wouldn't normally partake in" Sariel said, wishing the girl and her friends well.
When all was said and done they made their way back, making small talk as they went, as soon as they were back Minato got to work preparing dinner for them both while making sure to give Sariel larger portions to help fill her up.
Seeing the bright smile on Sariel's face was a joy to see for Minato, though it faded once she saw he hadn't touched his own food yet as he was worried the food he prepared for Sariel might not have been to her liking "Well, eat your food before it gets cold. And be sure to eat your vegetables too"
'Seems like your other is beginning to sound like a mother hen, eh Sariel' one of Minato's many Personas commented as the Persona of Sariel didn't respond to the verbal poking.
As they finished off their meals the world converged on Minato again.
Quest [Supremacy Over Sin and Virtue] Updated
Kindness Skill Gained.
{Relationship Speed with those who are "Kind" doubled [Auto Locked by Minato's Will]}
Archangel Sariel Companion / Power Gem gained
Agents of Virtue Updated, Unlocked Kindness Units
3 Ranks added to Charm.
Skill: Kindness
All buffs cast on others greatly enhanced and longer lasting.
Your EXP boost can be shared with those you teach, requirements to master skills lessen up to your own skill level. Can create Mediums in which to pass on your teachings [Skill Books, Scrolls, Educational recordings] but the EXP boost your students would normally gain is halved.
Quests you take on have high chances of improving the lives of others, spreading out as one good deed encourages another. Kindness repaid with kindness.
All healing is increased by 350% and grants Enhanced Health Regeneration to others and self. So long as the Enhanced Health Regeneration is active it is possible for those affected to even return from death.
[Do you wish to take a break? Considering… the kindness you were just given] Burroughs asked, a slight mirth in the voice of the AI.
Minato shook his head "I'm fine, just need a moment to steady myself after that hit to the head" wincing Minato glanced to his side, in his mind Burroughs was standing there "Did the others see that?"
[Mistress Elizabeth is currently having a meeting with Stephen, Igor and her siblings, though it's mostly be discussing private matters from what I have been able to over hear" Burroughs paused for a moment as she gave Minato time to digest that piece of information [Mistress Yuuki decided to explore the vast wardrobe she was given access to and appears to be exploring a mountain of swimsuits, she appears to be making her way to the Winter Holiday peaks after stumbling into the wedding dress forest]
"What?"
[Mistress Yuuki had the same reaction] Burroughs replied [As for the Ticos, I have them serving their primary job of helping manage the Infinite Library. Dig up what new information we can learn about Remnant and the threats it faces]
"So, no one saw what happened in there?" Minato asked as he pointed back to where a faded outline of the door of Kindness remained like with all completed Virtues.
[No. But I am recording it for them, along with footage for the other Virtue trials] Burroughs answered, a slight smirk on her face [I'm confident they will have a good laugh at what they see]
Minato rolled his neck "I'm sure they will, might summon the Personas of those Angels and make the whole thing one big watch party" he said as he stood before the final visible door of the Virtue side.
"That being said, what was that prompt referring to with Charm? I haven't seen or heard mention of that stat" Minato said, taking a moment to learn more about the unknown character stat that was raised.
[It seems to be a sub character stat of the main five of Expression, Courage, Knowledge, Diligence and Understanding with Expression and Understanding being closely tied to it] Burroughs explained as a small graph show the two main character stats connected to a third labelled charm [From what I can tell at the minute, the greater your Charm the faster you are able to raise Affection and Reputation. However, and luckily for you, this isn't like the brainwashing of the 50 point Perks. Rather it's a general diplomacy and seduction boost]
Minato frowned as he thought about his apparently hidden charm stat "Still, I rather bring it up with the others first. Just for full transparency, and if it should be sealed away"
[I'm certain they'll say it's safe, after all your Charm is only as good as your ability to Express yourself and Understand others. If anything the main affect of Charm isn't on others, like with the 50 point Perks, but yourself] Burroughs paused as she processed a bit of information [However, it is possible for you to seduce enemies mid battle now without even trying]
"Meaning I could be facing off against a Grimm and midway through the battle it develops a crush on me before turning on it's kin for the sake of a forbidden love that could never be?" Minato asked "Seriously, what are the odds of that happening because I've been through weirder?"
[I do not believe Creatures of Grimm are capable of love, at least nothing on hand points to such a thing. However, weak willed enemies, bystanders and allies would be taken aback by how cool you look and act. Though, such an effect is weak and can be broken easily]
With his back to Wrath Minato stepped through the threshold of Patience, and aside from the change in light intensity but also the roar of car engines.
Once he adjusted Minato found himself in the middle of a large city, the buildings around him appeared old with some looking like they were at least a century old. As he looked around more it quickly became apparent he was in the USA's New York, a piece of information confirmed with the local news papers.
Finding a tour guide map he decided to explore the city a little bit as he waited for the next 'Archangel' to appear, making sure to keep an eye on his surroundings and to walk at a steady pace to avoid any mishaps.
"Get back here you little thief! Somebody stop him!"
Looking up from his map Minato saw a boy about half his age running down the street with a paper bag clutched to his chest being chased by an older overweight man wearing an apron, the boy made a sharp turn down an alleyway with the older man skidding to a stop before following after the boy.
Everyone more or less ignored the two, their attention being drawn to the chase but turning away from it as soon as it was clear the two people running weren't going to run into them. Looking down the alleyway Minato saw the young boy was up against a large wire fence that cut the alleyway in half, there was nothing in the side of the alleyway the boy was on aside for himself and the exhausted man who took in large gulps of air.
"Nowhere, left to run, kid' the man said as he took a deep breath between each word, he slowly approached with his eyes focused on the boy and the bag he was carrying "Either pay up the money for the stuff you stole or hand it over, I ain't got time for this hug wash"
The boy gritted his teeth, quickly reaching into his back pocket he pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it down. Using the newly created smoke he ran pass the older man and reached the mouth of the alleyway. As he did Minato grabbed the boys collar and stopped him in his tracks, using this chance Minato looked in the bag and saw it was filled with food and drinks.
"Thanks man, brat's been a headache for a while now" the man said as he coughed to get the smoke out of his lungs.
"How much does all of this here cost anyway?" Minato asked, wondering what made the man chase the boy till he was red in the face.
"Doesn't really matter, if I let him get away with it all the other little shitty thieves will start to think my store is an easy target" the man said as he grabbed hold of the bag and ripped it from the boy's hand "Your lucky I ain't calling the police on ya"
The boy's shoulders slumped as he looked down defeated, Minato's grip on the boy not weakening as he looked to the man "Again, how much does all of that cost?"
Frowning, the man looked through the bag "I'd say about, fifty dollars. Give or take a nickel"
"I'll pay for him" Minato said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a wallet filled with money, once again thankful that Burroughs could convert the Japanese Yen Minato had into other currencies fairly easily "I'm a relative of a friend of his, seems only right I help the kid out"
The man gave Minato a dubious look but accepted the money and handed Minato the bag, he gave the kid a sharp look that didn't have an ounce of hatred or heat in them "Still out of trouble kid, doubt you'd get this lucky again"
As soon as the man turned his back to them the kid stuck their tongue out in childish defiance, but quickly put his tongue away when the man looked over his shoulder to them one last time before turning the corner and went back the way he came.
"Thanks, I owe ya one" the kid said to Minato as he handed over the bag.
In response Minato shrugged "Don't be, I ain't taking anything from a kid who needs to steal food" he looked at the kid with concern in his eyes "Can you handle all of that yourself?"
In respond the kid shook his head and gave Minato what seemed to be a friendly tap on the arm with one arm while he carried the weight of the bag in the other "I'll be fine, I'll be sure to tell my friend his relative from China bailed me out"
"I'm from Japan"
"What's the difference?"
"As much as there is between America, England, Canada, Mexico and Sweden" Minato answered as he started to feel something was off, feeling around his pocket he found his wallet was missing. The same wallet that he put in the pocket one the side the kid just tapped him, by the time he turned to face the kid he was already running.
Minato quickly caught up to the kid but the sight of his wallet being thrown at him stopped him in his tracks long enough for the kid to disappear into the ocean of people and traffic, looking through his wallet Minato saw more than half the money inside it was missing but otherwise everything was still there.
'Well, kid left me with something. And considering what he tried to steal he needs the money more than I do' with that thought Minato put his wallet away securely and walked in the opposite direction of the way the kid ran.
As he was walking he felt like someone was watching him and as he turned around he spotted a woman looking directly at him with a very annoyed expression, the woman being the 'Archangel of Patience, Uriel'
'What is she doing?' Persona Uriel as he watched his counterpart seemingly trying to hide but remaining obviously visible to everyone.
'Hahaha! Uriel's the wannabe ninja of this group instead of Metatron!' The Persona that said that was quickly blasted by Uriel's and Metatron's flames.
Minato locked eyes with the Uriel trying to hide, although she would have had a better chance of hiding if she used magic or at least wore a different outfit other than a revealing pink dress with what look like bunny ears on her head.
Uriel, still with her annoyed expression that partially hid a furious temper, gestured for Minato to go somewhere that didn't have so many people. Looking around Minato decided to enter the alleyway the boy he just ran into tried to flee through before being cut off by the fence, as he entered it Uriel was close behind him as she tried to be stealthy in her entry.
"Messiah, are you alright?" she asked before looking in the general direction the kid ran in with a heat look in her eyes "The nerve of that child, trying to steal from you after you helped him"
Minato shrugged "It's nothing to be worried about, he only took a few notes out and left me with plenty left. I'm guessing he's the type to apologize later rather than asking for permission" he said as he downplayed what just happened trying to cool Uriel off.
"He actually stole from you!?" Uriel said with some alarm, clenching her raised fists she turned on her heels with wings unfurling behind her "I'll give chase right away, I remember the little brat's face so I should be able to-"
"Stop. Really, it's alright" Minato said, his voice being firm before easing up as he continued to talk "There's no point going after the kid, yes he stole some money from me after helping him but I have plenty left, there's little reason to chase after him"
Uriel hesitated for a moment before curling up her wings and hiding them away "I suppose your right, Messiah. You are very merciful, but" she turned around to face Minato "As the one meant to oversee your training I cannot forgive myself for allowing such a thing to happen in the first place, I'll shall stay at your side to guard you against such thieves and should I fail you may punish me in whatever manner you deem fit"
Minato shook his head "There won't be any need for any kind of punishments, although it would be nice to have someone with me as I explore the city" as soon as he say Uriel returning to her poor stealth technique "You know, hiding in plain sight is an option. That way you won't have to force yourself into any manner of places"
Exploring New York, even if it was a fake replicate of the real thing, was a new experience for Minato as he took in the sights and sounds of it all. Although he tried to not let himself get too distracted because when he did Uriel would get more protective of him, more than once he could overhear people talking about how Uriel was his overprotective girlfriend.
As they were seeing what they was to see Uriel stopped in her tracks as she saw a familiar sight, the boy who stole from Minato earlier was sitting on the steps of an apartment building reading a comic book. As Uriel marched over to the boy Minato looked over to where she was headed and saw the boy himself.
"Young man, do you have any excuse for what you have done?" Uriel asked as he temper flared a bit startling the boy, who looked at Uriel confused more than anything else "You had the nerve to steal from the same person who went out of there way to help you"
Minato sighed "Uriel, seriously it's alright" as he got closer the kid's eyes widened "Good to see your doing well"
The kid tensed a little "I don't know you mister, I think you have the wrong kid"
"I know it's you, I just wanted to say thanks for tossing me my wallet after you took all my money out of it" Minato said as Uriel fumed at the side.
"Hey, wait a minute?! I only took around half of what was in there, I didn't take everything" The kid said, pausing for a moment as he noticed the small grin Minato had "You just made me rat myself out, clever Japan man"
"It's Minato, Mi-Na-To" Minato said as he helped the kid get a grip on his name, knowing that foreign names could take people from other characters a while to get used to. It was the same with him as he learnt English in school and French from Bebe and Mitsuru "Just wanted to say, the whole thing is water under the bridge. No hard feelings, just an annoyance of the whole thing"
The kid blinked "That so, alright. Peace between us and all that stuff" looking down at his comic book for a moment the kid looked up and down the street before facing Minato and Uriel "Okay, look. I know you have no reason to trust me, but I feel bad about the whole robbing you thing so think of this as my way of making things right"
"Your going to return what you stole?" Uriel asked, hope in her eyes.
Hope that dimmed as soon as the kid chuckled "No way, I already spent it. No, what I got is information. Specifically, information on the places that raise their prices for tourists and places that are had spots for thieves and generally people that should be avoided. You have a map?"
Handing the map he got earlier, and as he did he couldn't help but ask "So, what did you spent the money you stole on?"
"Hmm, this and that. Money's tight with us so we gotta do what we can to get by, besides no one would be interested in hiring me for a real job" the kid stopped drawing on Minato's map for a moment "Well, nothing that pays that well"
"Has to be something better than stealing, have you considered talking to someone about it. Maybe getting something part time" Minato suggested, before he thoughts drifted back to the old man from before "I'm sure that old store owner could use some help, if anything you could help stop anymore of his stock being stolen"
The kid smirked "Sure, I work part time there and in exchange for money I can take all the stuff pass their sell by dates home with me"
Minato and Uriel blinked at his words "Am I right in assuming you have thought bout such a thing?" Uriel asked.
"I might have thought about it, here" getting his map back Minato saw several large X's and small O's darted around New York "The X's are the shadier side of the city or tourist traps that's looking to drain your wallets and leave you with nothing, their practically thieves if you ask anyone in the know. The O's are smaller home grown places that are out of the way enough that they won't overcharge you but not too out of the way for any criminal stuff to go down"
Uriel looked at the map and made a mental copy of it in her head, making sure to scout out all these places before letting her Messiah potentially getting robbed again. And to her surprise the information the little thief gave them was completely accurate, even when she investigate the areas before letting Minato enter everything was as the kid said it was.
"Hmm, it seems the child was not as bad as he first seemed" Uriel admitted as they walked through the city "It seems your mercy helped him greatly Messiah"
Minato shrugged "I wouldn't really call it mercy, I just decided not to take vengeance as I didn't see a point to it" he stopped for a moment "I tried picturing myself in the kid's shoes and what would lead me to stealing food and money" he looked to Uriel with a smile "While thankfully the kid didn't seem to be in that much distress, the point remains that nothing good would have come of it"
Uriel nodded as she thought back to the child "Hopefully, the child changes his ways soon before he is fully dragged under by the Sins-"
The sounds of a nearby bin tipping over cut Uriel off as the boy from earlier came running down the street in a panic "-What has he gotten himself into this time?"
Seeing the look of fear in the kid's eyes Minato acted fast "Uriel, help me hid him" receiving a nod the two worked together to hid the kid, and just as they did not a moment later several large men and women in suits ran pass them without noticing the kid behind.
"Got in over your head?" Minato asked.
The kid didn't move from his hiding spot "Just some people who couldn't accept losing a fair game, reconsidering things with sore losers like that in mind. Maybe it's better I go ask the old guy for a job"
Once she was clear the coast was clear Uriel patted the kid's head to comfort him "We'll go together, making sure your safe and perhaps as character witnesses as well"
"Thank you" the kid said with a slight grumble as he felt embarrass, his eyes lingering on both Minato and Uriel before looking away with a blush.
It didn't take much for the old man to take on the kid as an employee, while not making that much money doing short hours with simple tasks the kid did get free food and a 35% store discount that worked for purchases up to one hundred dollars.
"I hope the young man uses this as a chance to turn away from his criminal behaviour" Uriel said as she saw the kid putting on an apron as the old man gave him the user name and password for the store social media account.
"All we can do is be patient and hope, he may be a bit rough around the edges but that could take him far one day. People can't change in day for the better, it takes time with them making one decision after another" as he watched the kid show the old man something he wrote on the store's social media that made the man laugh Minato couldn't help but smile "And, I believe this may be a step in the right direction for him"
Uriel looked at the trouble making kid that gave her Messiah so much grief, one that due to his patience with him got a chance to better improve his life "You've been quite patient with the child, Lord Messiah, doing so much him even after he stole from you"
"Let's call it payment for the information on the city" Minato looked over to Uriel, who was standing with her back to the wall and holding up a sheet that matched the colour of the wall behind her. He rolled his eyes as she had fallen back into her bad stealth mode, soon the world converged on Minato for the seventh time.

[Congratulates on conquering all main Seven Virtues Master] Burroughs said, as she did a group photo of the Seven Virtues Minato has met thus far [It would appear you got this as a bonus because of it]
Minato looked at the photo closely, it was as Burroughs said as it appeared the Seven 'Angels' he had met were together for a group photo in the middle of a city with them all looking to the camera with smiles. They were all wearing their standard outfits with everyone standing up with the exception of Gabriel, who was sitting on the ground, and Raphael and Uriel appearing to be standing on a guard rail.
"Well, this is a pleasant surprise" Minato said with a small smile as he made a mental note to see if he could get that picture framed in some way, he put it away as he didn't have a lot of time on his hands "What was that just mentioned, is Proficiency another sub character stat like Charm?"
[It is, Proficiency is closely connected with Knowledge and Diligence like Charm is with Expression and Understanding. Were Charm dealt with people Proficiency deals with objects, whether that be the construction, disassemble or use of items and equipment]
"Understood, Charm is for handling people and Proficiency is for handling things" he looked down the row of Virtue at the transparent doors that stood together, seven doors with the two bonus Virtue doors no where in sight.
As he looked over the Seven Doors, Minato noticed something and moved to stand in front of the first door he stepped through.
Chastity. Charity, Diligence, Kindness, Patience and Temperance were the six main stays of the Seven Virtues, however the Seventh Virtue was something that changed depending on who was asked. Three names were given to the Seventh Virtue, each fitting the role with slight differences between them, a hidden trinity among seven.
Placing his hand flat against the door Minato quickly swiped left, as he did an outline of connecting gears that linked Faith and Pride appeared before turning as Faith and Pride were replaced with Humility and Vanity before a second swipe swapped those for Hope and Melancholy.
With his back to Melancholy as he stood before Hope Minato prepared himself, he was working under a time limit and the countdown to the destruction of Atlas and Mantle was always in the back of his head.

"Given the supplies listed, it seems it would be easier to order the materials in bulk. And considering they requested the first day of training being saved for a lecture for the theory of Hamon it will give us a bit more room on having the materials ready" Winter said as she and Ironwood looked over the list Minato sent over.
Ironwood nodded "Some good news then, how goes the selection process for those attending the classes?"
"We have around two thousand personnel we can cycle into the programme without issue at the minute, mostly those on temporary leave or manning low priority areas, and we're currently hand-picking the first hundred like you requested. But depending on how effective this Hamon is we could cycle them into other positions so another two thousand may attend the class" Winter answered, looking up from her scroll to see Ironwood searching through a list of Special Operatives "Ace Op's Clover, Harriet and Vine requested to continue attending the public teaching of Hamon if they were to continue"
Ironwood nodded "Granted, I suspect those three will continue on with their classes and I encourage it. Help keep them warm, and fight off the Grimm if the worst were to happen" Ironwood's expression tensed as memories of The Fall of Beacon returned to him, he pushed it aside as he focused on his task on finding a suitable operative that fit the requests made.
"If you wish General, I am willing to take the position of advisor for these Hamon Classes" Winter offered, seeing the stress beginning to build on the general's shoulders again and wanting to help the man.
Ironwood shook his head as he turned to face Winter "While I greatly appreciate the offer you are needed elsewhere, your irreplaceable Winter. Besides, we need an older operative that is still active, can be taken from their duties with minimal affect on operations, preferably with no access to secret information should the worst happen and-" he stopped mid sentence as General Ironwood looked down at his scroll at the file of a certain operative "So dedicated to the Kingdom nothing would sway them, not money, fame, not even the threat of death"
Stepping closer Winter saw the photo of the special operative Ironwood was talking about "General, I highly advice you to reconsider"
"She does fit all our criteria" Ironwood said as he looked up the relevant contact information.
"She almost caused a riot, you can't be seriously considering taking her back now?"
"We'll merely keep her on Atlas, and make sure she isn't given access to loudspeakers with limit ability to post online. Not to mention that was years ago" he found what he was looking for.
Winter put her hand on Ironwood's arm, the two making eye contact as Winter's eyes softened "James, it's been a long day and your tired"
"Winter, thank you" Ironwood said as he placed his free hand on top of the hand of the one person he could trust completely in the whole world "But considering all our options, she is the best fit. Besides, do you really think she could cause more damage here where we can control her rather over in Argus with access to the Colossus"
Winter's expression soured, considering the operative's personality and the way most of the world saw Atlas after the Fall of Beacon it all came together to make a bubbling international incident waiting to happen "I, see your point. If your confident in this, I'll contact Penny and give her a heads up. Hopefully she'll be able to mitigate the worst of the damage she could do with our only source of Hamon"
"That would be for the best" Ironwood said with a thankful smile as he made the call, it took only a few rings for it to go through.
The default image of a voice call appeared "Special Operative Caroline Cordovin reporting in from the Argus Military Base, reporting in General"
Even though he couldn't see her Ironwood could picture Operative Cordovin standing at attention, along with forcing anyone around her or in earshot to do the same "At ease Operative Cordovin, has there been any major developments around Argus?"
"There has been a heightened presence of Grimm due to the attack on Haven Academy, but our Atlesian personnel and equipment have made short work of them and fortified the surroundings of Argus in the event of an attack. Nothing else to report General"
Ironwood nodded "I see, then if there is no major issues I will get to the reason I called. Special Operative Caroline Cordovin, you are to report back to Atlas for a special mission to which you will be directly reporting to myself. Please ensure you have everything in order at the Argus base before returning to Atlas either the next or following day"
General Ironwood waited to hear a response from Operative Cordovin but heard nothing, he could hear background noise but not much else.
"This is Operative Cordovin's second in command of the Argus base, clarify you wish for Operative Caroline Cordovin to return to Atlas for a special mission? A mission she will be directly reporting to yourself about?"
The disbelief was hard to miss in their voice "Correct, Operative Cordovin is so far the only operative that matches all the criteria we're looking for. I trust you and the others will be able to defend Argus with the best of your ability in her absence?"
"Of course they can General, I'll begin preparations right away!" Caroline's voice came through the speaker with joy, along with a squeal, and nearly deafened Ironwood for a moment.
The call soon ended and as he did Ironwood looked out the window of his office to the people he swore to defend with his life, in the back of his mind wondering what forces Salem will send to target Atlas like she had with Beacon and Haven Academies.
'Whatever comes here seeking to destroy this kingdom, I will stop it. No matter the cost'

"You alright, saw you shivering there?"
"I'm fine. Just a chill I guess" Ruby Rose said as she and her team made their way to the train station, not stopping to rest as they had the Relic of Knowledge with them.
Author's Notes:
Right, this was getting long so I figure I'd cut it off here.
Any complaints with the Virtues please let me know, I know I did Gabriel, Metatron and Sandalphon dirty in the last chapters by speeding past them without giving them the care and attention they deserved. I've gone back and redid their entries and I have tried to put the same care in with Raphael, Sariel and Uriel but if I've repeated the same mistake please speak up and keep me right.
Next chapter Minato is going to meet with the Archangels of Hope and Humility, straight up original characters invented by me as there are only Seven Heavenly Virtues while the Mortal Sins got Nine. Maybe The Virtues got new members for Hope and Humility in the App game Seven Mortal Sins X-Tasy but if so I haven't heard of it.
Things are starting to heat up now, and for those wondering yes the countdown for Minato's quest is tied to Ruby and co arriving at Atlas. While we're never given numbers a little over a week seems like a fair guesstimate to make for how long it took them from getting from Haven to Atlas.

Immunity to Minor and Mild debuffs, severity of all greater debuffs lessened.
When suffering under a debuff gain a buff that scales to the severity of said debuff afflicting you, the buff works to counteract the debuff by either directly opposing it [A debuff leaving you at 1 Strength will cause the reactive buff to regain half of your Strength prior] or circumventing it [Massively increasing Agility and Luck to escape or boosting Magic and Endurance to finish the fight]
