The people in this chapter are Virgil, Scott, John and Grandma Tracy. The others are on a mission.
It's been four days since Virgil came home from the hospital. Virgil was in the lounge room with his brothers. Virgil was lying down on the sofa with Jamien curdled up against him. Scott and John walked into the lounge room and saw that Virgil was lying on the sofa. John walked over to the sofa, and Scott walked over to Jeff's desk to get something. John sat down next to Virgil's head. When John sat down, Virgil looked up at John and smiled at him.
" Hi", Virgil said when he looked at John.
" Hi, how are you doing today? John asked Virgil.
" Good but still a bit sore", Virgil answered.
John looked at Jamien. Jamien had his head laying on Virgil's chest with his eyes closed and snoring away. Virgil placed his right hand on Jamien's head. Jamien didn't move but let out a little sigh. Then Virgil moved from a lying position to a sitting up position. When Virgil moved, Jamien waked up, lifted his head off Virgil's chest, and looked at him with confusion.
" What Jamien", Virgil said to Jamien.
Jamien wagged his tail and ran off to play with Snowy and Spikey over at the piano. Virgil and John laughed at the wolves.
" Hows are your scar looking? John asks Virgil.
Virgil doesn't say anything but lifted his shirt up to show his scar to John. John looked at the scar and saw the stitches in his skin for the surgery.
" When do the stitches came out? Scott asked Virgil while sitting at the desk.
" They came out in three weeks", Virgil answered while lowing his shirt down.
Meanwhile, the wolves were play fighting with each Jamien ran over to Virgil and John sitting on the sofa. Jamien jumped up on the sofa and hit John in the lower back with his body when he jumped up. John grabbed his lower back and moaned with pain. Both Scott and Virgil let out a little laugh and stop. Jamien licks John on the hand and cuddles up next to Virgil on the sofa.
Later that night, everyone was home and sitting in the lounge room with their wolves. Virgil and Jamien walked into the lounge room.
" Happy Birthday, Jamien", everyone said when they walked into the room.
Jamien ran off to play with his brothers and sister while Virgil walked over to sit down with everyone else on the sofa. When Virgil went to sit down, he moaned when he bend down to sit. Finally, Virgil sat down next to Scott and Gordon.
" You ok? Gordon asked Virgil.
" I am fine. The stitches sometimes hurt when I move, but I am fine", Virgil answered.
Gordon placed his hand on Virgil's right kneed and looked at Virgil with a concerned look on his face. Virgil placed his hand over Gordon's hand and looked at him with a little smile on his face. Alan and Kayo walked into the lounge room with their hands behind their backs. Both Gordon and Virgil moved their hands off each other and looked over at Alan and Kayo. Alan spilt away for Kayo and walked into the centre of the room with one for his hand behind his back.
" Jamien came here", Alan said while kneeling to his knees.
Jamien was playing tug of war with Spiky's teddy bear toy when Alan called him Jamien let go of the toy and run over to Alan. When Jamien reached where Alan was kneeling, Jamien sat down in front of him and looked at him, confused why Alan called him over. Alan placed his left hand under Jamien's chin and started rubbing his hand up and down.
" Jamien, happy birthday", Alan said while placing a party hat on Jamien's head.
" Kayo shows Jamien his birthday present, please", Alan said while looking at Jamien.
Kayo walked over to Jamien and kneeled next to Alan.
" Jamien, happy birthday, sweetheart", Kayo said to Jamien and kissed him on his snout.
Kayo showed what she was hiding behind her back. It was an elk antler all for him. Jamien opens his mouth a bet down on the elk antler and runway for Kayo, Alan, and other wolves to eat in paces. The party went on until the end of the night, and everyone went to bed.
