The year in this chapter is 2060. So Virgil is turning 20 years old.
Virgil was sitting on the sofa, reading a book, when Scott and Alan walked into the room. Jamien was lying against Virgil when Scott and Alan enter the room Jamien lifted his head and looked at them, confused. Virgil felt Jamien move and looked down at Jamien.
" What Jamien? Virgil said to Jamien.
Virgil turned to see what Jamien was looking at. When he did, he saw Scott and Alan walking in for a rescue. They both walked over to the sofa. Scott sat down next to Virgil, and Alan layed down on the long sofa. Virgil watch Alan lay down on the sofa then looked at Scott.
" Poor thing", Virgil said to Scott.
" Who? Scott asked while taking off his shoes.
" Alan, I mean, just looked at him", Virgil said.
Scott quickly looked at Alan and got his last shoes off, and leaned back into the sofa.
" What about me? Scott asked Virgil.
" And you too", Virgil said to Scott while placing his hand on his shoulder.
" Happy birthday Virgil", Scott said to Virgil.
" Thanks, Scott", Virgil said back to Scott.
" So what are we going to do on your birthday? Scott asked Virgil.
" Well, John and I have been talking about that, and we have come up with two options", Virgil said to Scott.
" Option one, we stand here and later tonight have some drinks and sit around the fire", Virgil said to Scott.
" Or option two, we go out for dinner and have some drinks then came home", Virgil said to Scott.
" Option one sounds nice and relaxing, Scott", Virgil answered.
" Get sounds like a plan", Scott said while standing back up.
Scott walked out of the room, and Virgil looked over at Alan, who was snoring. Virgil rolled his eyes and stood up, and walked off to his bedroom. Virgil reached his bedroom and walked over to his bed. Virgil sat down on his bed and heard something move under the doona. Virgil slowly turned his head in the direction he felt the movement. Virgil lifts the doona to look at what was under the doona. When Virgil lifted the doona Jamien came running out and jump right into Virgil. Virgil fell back into the pillows behind him and looked at Jamien, who was lying on his chest.
" Thanks, Jamien. I love you too", Virgil said and kissed Jamien on the snout.
When Virgil kissed Jamien, Jamien moved closer to Virgil and licked him in the face.
Virgil closed his eyes while Jamien licked him.
"Thank you, Jamien", Virgil said while wiped his face with his hand.
Virgil hangs out in his room, into it got darker. Finally, Virgil walked into the lounge room and saw his brothers waiting in the room.
" Hey Virgil", Alan said to Virgil.
" Hi, Alan, what's up," Virgil asked Alan.
" Well, we can't find out where to have a fire", Alan answered.
Virgil walked over to the window, looked out to the beach, and then turned to look at his brothers.
" Hey, why don't we have a fire on the beach as we did with dad and mum? Virgil said out loud to his brothers.
" It's your party, Virgil. If you want a beach party, that wants we are doing", Scott said to Virgil while walking over to him.
"Will we are going to the beach, or are we just going to stand around here?" Gordon said while walking out of the room down to the beach.
The boys and the wolves headed down to the beach. After a 10 minute walk, they reached the sand and look for a spot to have a fire. They found an open spot to see the stars and moonlight reflection on the waves crashing into the sand. Then, the boys started getting everything ready. Scott, Alan and Gordon worked on getting the fire started. Meanwhile, John and Virgil were getting seats out ready.
" Right, the seats are ready, and now I am going back to the house to get the esky and drinks", John said to Virgil.
" Right", Virgil said with a funny tone to his voices.
" Would you like to help me, birthday boy? John asked Virgil.
" Yes", Virgil answered while acting like a kid.
" Right, let's go", John said.
John and Virgil headed back to the house and walked into the kitchen. John walked over to the fridge and opened the door. Virgil walked over to the esky and full half of it with ice and walked over to John.
" What drinks should we bring? John asked Virgil.
" Well, for me, I will drink apple cider and whiskey. For you, John, Lemon-Lime cruisers, Scott Gin, Gordon Fanta and Alan Dr Pepper ", Virgil answered, heading the drinks over to John to put in the esky.
Virgil closed the fridge door and helped John carry the esky down to the beach spot.
John and Virgil reached the others and saw Scott, Gordon and Alan sitting in the seats around the fire, talking and laughing. John and Virgil carried the esky over and sat it down on the sand, and went off to join the others. John and Virgil sat down around the fire with the others.
" Did you bring the drinks? Scott asked John.
" Yes", John answered and sat down.
Virgil sat down with an opened apple cider bottle. When Virgil sat down, he looked at the fire, thinking about something. Scott saw Virgil looking at the fire, wondering what was going with him.
" Hey Virgil", Scott said to him.
Virgil looked up from the fire and looked cross at Scott.
" What, Scott? Virgil asked.
" What are you thinking about over there," Scott said to Virgil.
Before Virgil could answer, Jamien jump up on his lap and cuddle up against him. Virgil looked down at Jamien and started patting him.
" Well, I am thinking about dad and wish he was here", Virgil answered but looking down, Jamien.
" We know Virgil. We all miss dad", John said to Virgil.
The rest of the night, the boys talked and laughed all of the night.
