Author's Note: Yay second chapter! I actually don't know geography, so correct me if I am wrong!

Anyways this story is in fact mine, but Harry Potter is not (imagine if it was haha)

"Your mother came from a very, very prestigious family" Father explained "They are considered royalty of some sorts in society, and their name holds great power. They are part of a group called the Sacred Twenty-Eight. It consists of 28 families-"

"Really? I thought it would be made up of 29 families" Ronan chimed in. I hit him on his arm

"You idiot, now's not the time!" I scowled

"Ow! No need to be so mean" he mumbled, running his bruising arm. I rolled my eyes "I didn't hit him that hard" I thought.

"I want to finish my talk before Ronan gets beat up " My Father joked. "Back to what I was saying. The Sacred Twenty-Eight consists of 28 families with equal amounts of status. The reason for their status is because they've been able to keep their line 'pure'"

"What do you mean pure? How can a bloodline be pure?" I questioned. Something was not right. With the way Father froze, it seemed like it was important. Ronan noticed it as well.

"...I'll talk to you guys about it when we get to the mansion"

"THE MANSION?!" I yelled. How rich was this family?

"Of course they have a mansion, they're literally at the top of the food chain. You would know that if you weren't an idiot" Ronan said smugly. I scoffed. Trust him to brag about something as insignificant as this.

"Yeah, but I thought it just meant a large apartment or something, not a mansion" I grumbled.

"Don't worry I was surprised as well when I first heard" Father laughed "I thought your mother was just over exaggerating, but seems like most of the Sacred Twenty-Eight has a large amount of property" Father looked at his watch "It's time to go"

We called for a taxi to pick us up. I looked out the window and saw plain grassland, which meant we passed the city border.

"We're almost there, so I should talk to you guys about some things" Father turned to face us "Excuse me, could you give us some privacy?" Father asked the driver. The driver nodded once and rolled the divider up.

"Ok, so have either of you ever wondered why unexplainable things happened?"

"Yeah, totally. I remember once I got a B+ on an assignment, but by the time I got home, it turned into n A+. It was like magic or something" I said, frowning as I remembered.

I was devastated, because I spent such a long time preparing for that Unit test, but when I got it back I only got a B+. When I came back home, I slowly took it out of my backpack to show my parents, but I noticed that the B+ became an A+. I honestly thought I was hallucinating, but I was grateful anyways.

"Yeah, weird things sometimes happened to me as well. '' Ronan admitted. "I remember once I was playing tag with my friends, and I didnt want him to catch me, but I tripped and fell, but when I hit the floor it didn't hurt. It was like falling in slow motion"

"What?" I thought. My eyes were blown wide. "Why didn't he tell me?" I frowned. "We used to tell each other everything, but after mom died, I guess we became distant"

"There is actually and explanation for all the odd behavior" He took a large breath "You guys have magic"

Both me and Ronan looked at each other. One second, Two seconds, Three seconds later…

"AHAHAHAHA" Both of us burst into laughter, tears in our eyes.

"Dad, I'd never have thought you'd be the type of person to prank us" I giggled, wiping the tears off my face.

"You could've done this in America though, '' Ronan asked suspiciously. I suddenly stopped laughing. "He's right. Why would dad waste all this money just to pull a prank on us? It's very out of character for him. Unless… is there some truth to what he's saying? But MAGIC? How could that be?" As my thoughts were spiraling out of control, Ronan asked what Dad was holding.

"This is a diary your mother gave me, she was planning on showing this to you guys in person but… she died. So I'm showing it to you"

I inspected the red, leather cover. I recognized it. "I've seen mum writing this a couple of times," I said.

I opened the diary to the bookmarked page and started reading:

01/August/1990

Dear Ambrose and Ronan,

If you're reading this then it seems either me or your father gave my diary to you. This will tell you all you need to know about the wizarding world.

"So it actually exists" Ronan asked, bewildered

"Just keep listening," Dad chided.

Yes, MAGIC does in fact exist (weird, I know). There is a whole hidden society that both of you will be subjected to, because both of you are magical. Here is some key terminology:

Ministry of Magic - Sort of like a magical government. There are many departments, and there is even a Minister of magic. A minister of magic is equivalent to the Prime Minister.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - A school that exists in Scotland. The school teaches magical children the basics and how to keep their magic under wraps. There are many subjects such as Potions, Transfiguration, Charms, and Care of Magical Creatures, to name a few.

Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - Another magical school, but this one resides in America.

But I'm assuming both of you chose Hogwarts (I actually know nothing about Ilvermorny, So I'll just be giving you information on things in Britain)

Diagon Alley - (Sounds like diagonally, right?) Is a place to get all the supplies for schooling. Cauldrons, Brooms, Potion Supplies, and most importantly, a wand.

Gringotts - A wizarding Band that deals in Wizarding money (Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts), but they also do transactions in pounds as well. Gringotts is run by goblins.

Quidditch - A sport played on brooms. The positions are 2 Beaters, 3 Chasers, 1 Keeper, and 1 Seeker. There are also three different types of balls. There are bludgers that try to knock people off brooms (Both teams) and it is the beaters responsibility to make sure they are directed somewhere else (with their bats), A quaffle which has to be thrown into one of three rings on the opposing team's side (like basketball) by the chasers , The keepers role is like a goalkeeper, they have to make sure that the quaffle does not go through the hoops by guarding it. And the seeker's role is to catch the golden snitch. The moment the snitch is caught, the game is over.

- Quaffle through the hoops are 10 points

- A seeker catching the snitch is 150 points

Now onto more serious stuff.

Squib - A person who is born into a magical family, but does not have magic. Usually they are disowned or hidden if born to a family of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. I am a squib. That's why I was disowned to the family of Nott, a member of the Sacred Twenty-Eight.

Muggleborn - A magical child born into a family of muggles (Muggles are non magical people). Racism to Muggleborns in the magical society is not new and they are often called Mudbloods. It is a derogatory term. Never ever in your life utter that word. If you see someone saying it, smack them round the head. They deserve it.

Halfbloods - Are born to a pureblood and a Muggleborn, or a Halfblood and Halfblood. Have an advantage in society because they have extensive knowledge of magic and muggle. Both of you are Halfbloods.

Purebloods - A pureblood child is born from a pureblood and pureblood. Certain families pride themselves in being pureblood. They would do anything to keep blood lines pure, to the point where they marry cousins. They also mandated that I learn proper pureblood etiquette. The Sacred Twenty-eight mostly pride themselves in being pure, with the exception of Weasleys and other families. Weasleys can be identified with their bright orange hair.

He-who-must-not-be-named - Also known as you-know-who (His real name is V-V-Voldemort. I can't believe I'm stuttering over writing). Can strike fear into every magical person's heart. His main goal is to rid the magical world of muggles and Muggleborns. His followers are called Death Eaters. Many families of the Sacred Twenty-Eight were death eaters in the first war. My family included. The Malfoys are prominent. If you see a person with platinum hair, then it is most likely they are Malfoys. I would recommend both of you to stay away from them, but the final decision is up to you.

That is all I can say for now!

Bye both of you! Stay safe at Hogwarts (If both of you are planning on going there)

Have a good time in this new and enchanting life!,

Anita Cooper

There was a few seconds of silence to process all the information that had been put on us. A realization struck me.

"Are you telling us we're going to be sent off to live with these Notts?!" I asked with indignation "The very people who are discriminatory to you?! And who hated our mother?! And were going to live in their stupid mansion and learn 'pureblood etiquette'?!"

"Yes, In fact were here"

Soooo? How was it? Was it suspenseful ? Leave constructive criticism in the reviews! These chapters are short but that's all I can manage currently, Sorry :(
