Gimme Everythin' I wanted

Chapter Two:

Sasuke let out a gentle breath, snuggling against the softest pillow he ever had the pleasure to sleep on.

The haze of his mind told him to keep sleeping, not to open his eyes, to never let this feeling end. He wanted to keep it, treasure it, own it, but he knew that it was futile. It was already slipping past his fingers as reality and consciousness returned to him.

The fog of his mind lifted slowly, grounding him but he wasn't ready. The temptation to sleep just a bit more felt so strong that he didn't even argue with himself on maybe, just this once, he could steal a little more time in this dreamless state. His fingers curled around a firm and comfortable mattress, as he buried his face into that delicious smelling pillow.

There was no doubt, he was in heaven.

"Are you awake?" A deep voice suddenly rumble from right under him.

Sasuke's eyes snapped open.

Now, that was hella unfamiliar.

It had Sasuke remembering the earlier events, like cold water being splashed on his face. The sanctuary was being attacked, Chiyo and the others were in danger and he had been carelessly falling into darkness.

Being useless like he always was.

Sasuke suddenly sat up right, disorienting himself as his eyes quickly looked around. For a moment he felt lost, trying to make sense of everything. For a moment feeling like he wasn't even in his own body.

The sky was dark up above, spotted in strange tiny lights he didn't have a name for. He was surrounded by cold hard walls, making him feel boxed in. The floor under him was grainy, like small pebbles peeling off and they dug into the soft flesh of his palms. Turning his head at the sound of rustling he blushed as he realized that he had not been snuggling against a heavenly pillow, but with another demon…

Scowling, he shifted away from the other demon, putting distance between them. He looked down, his hands touching his hot cheeks as he closed his eyes, willing for his blood to stop pumping so hard. He felt so embarrassed and something else that he couldn't name. It wasn't exactly a nice feeling, especially since it made him feel self-conscious about himself.

What must the demon think of him?

Fuck.

Chiyo had always drilled into him that first impressions were everything. He had just snuggled some stranger, they must think he was a creep.

When silence followed and he heard nothing else, Sasuke started to worry. He latched onto the feeling, trying to focus on figuring things out than his own feelings. Worry was better than being embarrassed, besides, the other might need help.

"Wh-what happened?" he asked, curling into himself.

"I opened up a dimensional portal and transported us to…what I suppose is a different dimension," the long haired demon still star fishing the floor muttered. "We should be in the human realm if I didn't mess it up,"

Sasuke peeked from the corner of his eyes towards said demon. His body relaxed when he noted that the demon had not moved, much less even looked at him. Maybe he was hurt and didn't much care about what just had happened between them?

"Okay then." Sasuke took a deep breath, "Can you return us back to our dimension? Maybe somewhere safer where that old man can't get you." Sasuke suggested. He had no idea what dimensions where or how they worked, but the demon next to him must know something. Sasuke didn't want to come off as stupid either, so he went with what he thought made sense to say.

Silence met him for a second and he wondered if the demon had heard him. Or maybe he had said the wrong thing.

He was about to ask if everything was alright when he heard a slight cough.

"I…I'm afraid I exhausted my power for the moment," the demon sheepishly admitted. He gave him a soft apologetic look. "Forgive me,"

"Che," Sasuke muttered as he looked up at the dark sky, trying not to blush again. He wondered what was so captivating about the sky that the demon on the floor kept looking at it. "I guess we will wait until you are ready then." He softly said.

A moment of silence passed between them before Sasuke looked back at the demon, his eyes roaming over his bloodied body.

"Do you need first aid, I can try to help," he offered. "I have some skill. I was taught by miss Chiyo, she's the best when it comes to helping the most injured demons…" Honestly, his knowledge wasn't the best, but he could at least do the basics to help him heal. He had seen Chiyo and Sakura work on recovering demons enough to at least know that much.

The other demon didn't move, nor breathed a word to the point that it scared Sasuke. He was suddenly too still. His mind immediately racing that he was dead and he would be stuck here all alone!

He scrambled over to him, his fingers digging into the already bruised cheeks of the unresponsive demon.

A raised eyebrow and questioning eyes met him.

"What is it," the demon muttered.

Oh, he was alive.

Sasuke sat back, a pout coming over his face as he tried to keep himself from blushing for what felt like the million time. He didn't think he had ever blushed so hard and so many times in the span of a few minutes in his whole life.

"We should get your injuries looked at." He petulantly said, before adding, "I'm Sasuke by the way. What's your name?"

The demon was looking at him now, part of his long hair falling over his cheeks as he stared openly. His eyes were a deep black, his cheeks accented by deep marks that ran down from his eyes, his nose was straight, and his thin lips set in neither a frown nor smile. The emotions on his face were hard to read.

Although, he is very handsome, Sasuke couldn't help but to think.

Sasuke was growing unnerved the longer the unnamed demon stared, wondering if there was something odd about himself. Maybe there was something on his face that made him look silly?

Sasuke had rarely seen many younger demons. Usually he was surrounded by sprites, old demons, and the rare fairy. To see a demon that was young, maybe…was he a bit older or was he younger, either way to see one that was likely close to his age, was rare. Sasuke didn't think he looked too bad compared to him, but perhaps he was wrong.

Sasuke relaxed when the demon finally offered him a small friendly smile. He moved into a sitting position although seeming a bit apprehensive as he finally uttered, "I'm Itachi." The man then grunted in pain, holding his midsection.

Once he heard his name Sasuke had so many questions he wanted to ask, like why was that elder demon attacking him?

Had he done something wrong that they would want him dead?

Were they safe to go back at all?

When would that be?

Yet all he was able to say was, "It's nice to meet you, Itachi." and blinked when Itachi seemed to visibly relax. Sasuke had not realized that Itachi had been anticipating his reaction to knowing his name.

Maybe there was something that he should know?

Should he ask?

"It's nice to meet you as well, Sasuke. Thank you for risking your life like that for me when you didn't have to," Itachi's words were dripping with a lot of appreciation with an edge of caution. "Although something tells me that you have never heard of me?"

Sasuke tilted his head, "Am I supposed to know about you? Although I guess at the bottom of the cliff away from the main kingdom really limits what news make it to us." Sasuke's eyes lit up, "Are you some kind of famous criminal?"

Itachi sweat dropped before he chuckled, amusement clear on his face, "No, nothing like that." Sasuke pouted, making Itachi laugh once more. "I'm sorry if I have disappointed you, Sasuke."

"Nah, it's fine," Sasuke shrugged, looking back at Itachi's injured body. "But seriously we need to get your wounds looked at," Sasuke's eyes showed worry over the wounds littering Itachi's body.

Itachi looked down at himself and inwardly flinched as he saw the state of his clothing. Well, he looked worse than he felt. Standing up, he courteously offered his hand over to Sasuke.

"I suppose you are right, let's figure out things and see what we can do," Itachi said.

The young demon blinked, brushing Itachi's hand aside he stood up on his own.

"Okay, let's go!" Sasuke said, ready to see what this new dimension would offer. Part of him had yet to register that he was in a different dimension, mainly because he didn't know whether he believed it or not. The fact that his surroundings were unfamiliar, it had Sasuke on his toes, on the edge, ready for just about anything.

They could be attacked again.

Itachi took his hand back and decided to ignore how he felt disappointed that Sasuke didn't need his help. No, why was he thinking that, he needed to figure out what to do. He turned his head as he inspected where they were and sighed in relief to realize that it was familiar.

"I see light over there, let's head that way. It will lead us to a city, and hopefully we can get something to help me with my wounds." Itachi said, pointing towards one end of where they were. Sasuke nodded his agreement, there really seemed to be light in that direction.

How had he not noticed it before?

Once they stepped out of the darkened corner that they had landed in, their senses were assaulted by colorful lights and loud sounds. They definitely weren't in the demon realm anymore. Sasuke watched in awe, he had never seen anything like this in the demon realm. That was for sure.

Everything was so new.

The humans around walked past almost as if they didn't notice that he, and an injured man, were standing there. If one did look, they immediately averted their gaze and kept to themselves.

Humans...

There wasn't much of a difference between a human and a High demon, if Sasuke really thought about it. If anything the only thing different was that they felt muted, like their souls or presence wasn't as broad as a demon was.

Their eyes didn't hold much light, their looks were at best average, and they smelled odd.

Sasuke started to wonder if they should ask any one of them for help, but wasn't sure how humans interacted with each other. Before he could even ask what they should do, Itachi was reaching for and taking his hand into his larger and warmer one.

"Come Sasuke," he said, leading him somewhere.

Sasuke's face exploded bright red, disbelief filling him. He wanted to pull his hand back, but at the same time he didn't. He let Itachi pull him along, down a paved path that every human seemed to walk by because of the monsters racing next to it.

The poor raven had to will himself to relax, noting that Itachi wasn't looking at him. He was instead looking at a small black slim device that talked, giving instructions on where they should go. Sasuke was in awe, wondering what it was as he peeked at the screen, watching how a small blue arrow signaled that it knew what direction they were headed.

"What's that?" he asked.

"It's a cell phone, humans use it for a lot of practical things. It makes living and navigating this realm easier," Itachi explained.

Sasuke was still confused.

"Humans are weird, what are they anyways. Do they pose trouble?" Sasuke asked, glancing to the passing crowd of humans. He was scared that they might say something to them or attack.

"Humans are not necessarily dangerous, although I suppose you'd be more familiar with the way we refer to them. They are vessels," Itachi explained and Sasuke recognized the word. Vessels were used by demons that didn't have a form of their own.

Augmentative demons, these demons were nothing but a black mist. They were also the ones that got ritually summoned to other dimensions, and were the ones that required vessels in order to take a form, or some sort of shape. They usually created symbiotic relationships that benefited either one or both, depending on the intentions behind the possession.

Of course, Sasuke only knew this because Chiyo had explained it to him, claiming it was necessary when dealing with all kinds of demons that came to the sanctuary. Sasuke had yet to meet a Vessel, but he supposed now he had.

Except these vessels had yet to be possessed so humans it was.

Itachi put the cell phone away once they had reached a lit up building. Inside there was so much going on, people at the front with boxes while they seem to finalize a transaction, while others walked around, gathering things.

Sasuke followed Itachi closely as they made their way to where they sold medical things. Sasuke recognized a few of the items. The writing on them though, not so much. Itachi reached for something so Sasuke wondered if he knew what he was getting.

Suddenly, a young woman approached them.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry sir. You can't come in here without shoes. I'm going to have to ask you to leave," She said in an apologetic tone.

Sasuke froze while Itachi glanced down, taking note for the first time that Sasuke had no shoes. Sasuke's gaze dropped, feeling unhappy about the turn of events.

"Sorry about that," Itachi apologized to the woman. "Sasuke will you wait for me outside, I'll be right out," Itachi said.

Sasuke nodded, a bit nervous but did as he was asked. He shuffled out of the building, a bit disgruntled that the woman had followed him to ensure he left. Sasuke paused a few steps outside with a sad look on his face.

He supposed humans didn't care for those with no shoes either. It wasn't his fault, he just wasn't able to afford any shoes at the moment. He didn't deserve them with how useless he was.

Damn, now that Itachi had noticed he would know that Sasuke was worthless and would probably leave him stranded here.

That would be merciful than taking him back to the demon realm.

Sniffing a bit and trying to bite back tears, Sasuke didn't notice when Itachi returned. Not until his warm, larger hand was taking his. Sasuke gasped, wiping at his eyes and keeping his head down.

"Come Sasuke," Itachi softly said.

The two of them walked until they made it to a public restroom in the middle of an outdoor shopping district. Itachi explained to Sasuke what the shopping district was, as well as the public restroom. He said humans were private creatures and always dressed and took care of things in these kinds of rooms.

That is what they were doing when they reached one.

Itachi locked the door behind them and quickly stripped out of his dirty, ripped, bloody shirt.

Sasuke looked away, willing himself not to get flustered. Again a foreign feeling to him. It wasn't like he hadn't seen others shirtless before. It came with the job of taking care of the sickly, but somehow Itachi seemed different.

Sasuke wanted to give him privacy and respect that he undressing.

He decided to occupy himself with the bag of things that Itachi had gotten. Sasuke felt useless when he was unable to read the language printed on everything. None of the instructions made sense to him in the least, but he was sure he recognized some of the things. Like the wipes and bandages.

"Here," Itachi said, grabbing a few of the cotton balls. He dabbed some of the liquid that smelled strange and strongly, before running it over his wounds. Sasuke watched as Itachi cleaned the blood off and how once cleaned his wounds healed quickly like they had never been there.

"That was fast," Sasuke muttered, amazed. "What is that?"

Was it some kind of magic?

Chiyo didn't have anything that could clean wounds that fast so they would heal in seconds. Her remedies always took time and were painful at that.

"Alcohol," Itachi read off, "It cleans out wounds it says. It works, once clean my wounds don't take too long to heal," Itachi showed Sasuke the bottle. "I don't think it's supposed to be anything too great, but it helps."

"I see," Sasuke muttered. He had been unsure if human products would be good for helping demons heal, but he was glad that it worked. He hoped that it would help Itachi feel better so that they could go back to the demon realm.

He bet that Chiyo dealt with things on her own and was now angry at him. She'd probably make him clean up the mess that stupid old demon left behind. He should get back to his chores and doing what he was told to do.

"I should be fine now, don't worry," Itachi said as he cleaned up everything he had used, throwing it out in a black trash bin. He bandaged anything that was taking time to heal, before pulling on a dark gray shirt that he had gotten. His old clothing were thrown out.

"You never did say why you were being attacked," Sasuke asked, hesitation on his voice as he looked down at his feet. They were dirty, cold, and scratched up, but nothing new.

Itachi hesitated before he said, "I'm a mixed demon, I have angel blood in me." He wasn't sure why he was confessing such a thing, but maybe deep down he wanted to get Sasuke's reaction to it. Maybe it was because this demon had placed himself in danger for his sake when he probably wouldn't have if he knew.

If only he had known.

Sasuke deserved to know.

Demon's with mixed blood were considered abominations. Other demons thought they were weak and wanted to get rid of them before they had the chance to grow up. There was a taboo about their species when in his opinion, there shouldn't be.

Itachi turned to look at Sasuke, but the boy was silent. He was looking at him with wide eyes, but nothing more.

Itachi scoffed, looking away.

"That's my crime. My parents were a demon and an angel and they had me. I was born," Itachi spat with regret in his voice. He hated having to speak about this. It was what he never wanted to acknowledge about himself.

"Me too," Sasuke said without thinking.

"What?" Itachi asked, looking at Sasuke with wide eyes.

Sasuke's eyes widened, looking away. He started to chew on his bottom lip, unable to believe that he had confessed to a stranger who he was.

"You are mixed?" Itachi asked with doubt, narrowing his eyes at Sasuke. He wanted the boy to answer him. The last thing he needed was someone joking about what they were.

Sasuke peeked at Itachi before nodded. "Yes," Sasuke said. He knew all too well that he was not supposed to tell that to anyone. "I mean, damn, don't tell anyone,"

Itachi chuckled, "I told you about me first." He said "Thank you for telling me that you are as well. It means a lot to meet someone else like me…I didn't think that…" Itachi trailed off. He had never thought there was anyone else like him out there alive.

Many died at birth, before that even, or after a few days of being born. It was his luck that he was born in a position that protected him, but he wasn't sure about Sasuke.

The boy fidgeted and Itachi's gaze dropped back down to his feet.

Of course, his appearance made so much sense now. There was no doubt in his mind that Sasuke had been treated badly. It made his heart clench, wanting to right that wrong that had been bestowed on this sweet boy.

"Is it really that bad to be…mixed?" Sasuke asked softly.

He had only ever heard it and never even been outside of the cliffs to know if it was true. He had been told to not strive, and been discouraged all his life. He was explicitly told to hide who he was because it was the difference between life and death.

Itachi finished dressing completely into a fresh pair of jeans. He was now changing his shoes. He took a moment to think about how he was going to answer Sasuke.

There just wasn't any sugar coating the truth.

"Back in the demon realm, many have not accepted a mix race. Demons and Angels are so similar, and are able to reproduce offspring together that you'd think it make sense. That it might benefit us, but that's just not the case," Itachi moved the bags around, searching for that extra purchase he had made.

"But why…" Sasuke whispered.

"The thing is, Demons and Angels sometimes fall in love with each other and end up breaking the law, and it was something many have wanted to change." Itachi softly explained. "It doesn't benefit us to limit ourselves. Many just want for there to be more freedom and to show that mixed children are just as, if not more powerful than full blooded demons, or full blooded Angels. It's a tough battle to try and change that though."

Itachi knew that realms were separated by dimensions so seldom traveled. That didn't mean that it was impossible.

He and Sasuke were living proof of that.

The power Itachi had was proof of that.

Sasuke watched Itachi.

His mind was racing with what Chiyo had once told him. How his parents had tried their best to run away from their fate, to hide, so that they could at least save him. How their family had been hunted down and each perished, one by one, under the swift claws of pureblooded demons who thought they knew what was best for their world.

"Isn't the prince our last hope for some kind of peace?" Sasuke asked. Chiyo had often said that if the prince rose to power then things would change. That there would be hope, but even she was starting to give up on that.

He wondered if Itachi was as well.

Itachi paused, but didn't look at Sasuke as he shrugged and resumed what he was doing. "Perhaps, but I don't have the answers to that," Itachi dismissed. Sasuke was about to say something more when Itachi cut him off, "try on some of the clothes, see what fits you Sasuke,"

Sasuke paused, "But I don't…" he started, hesitant when Itachi shoved some of the clothes into his arms.

"Go on, they are warmer and best fitted for this world," Itachi urged, "You'll need them,"

Sasuke swallowed, but nodded his head. Itachi wasn't judging him. Besides, he had to blend in, there was no telling how long they would stay in the human realm.

"Are you not yet well to take us back to our realm?" Sasuke asked as he started to change his clothes.

Itachi shook his head, "Not yet, it will take some time. Don't worry about it. I'll tell you once I am ready," he said.

Sasuke found that most of the clothes fit him just a bit over, but settled for a blue shirt, black zip up sweater, dark gray jeans and paused at the shoes. Was he allowed to choose from them…

Itachi who was combing through his hair was already dressed in a dark gray shirt on top he had thrown on a black zip up sweater. He had chosen black jeans and changed his socks and his shoes for a fresh pair and high tops.

Itachi turned to Sasuke, about to tell him to pack his old clothing into the bag so they could go but paused when he saw that the boy was staring at the pair of shoes he had left for him intently.

"Sasuke, are you okay?" he asked.

Sasuke flinched. "I…I…yeah," he turned, afraid that Itachi had caught him looking at the shoes. He would not be happy about that.

Itachi started to pack their things up, "Sasuke put on your shoes, and here, you can wear socks as well. Your feet look sore,"

Sasuke turned to Itachi with a startled look on his face, "I have done nothing to deserve shoes!" he quickly said. Itachi was surely mistaken. Shoes were a luxury, Chiyo said that only those worthy of respect could wear them.

Itachi reached a hand towards Sasuke's panicked face, causing him to jump and out of his reach, thinking that he would be hit. Itachi held his hand out, not moving to reach for the boy who was closely watching him.

"What makes you think that you don't deserve them?" Itachi questioned.

"I haven't, I'm not worthy to wear…" Sasuke muttered.

Itachi wanted to tell him otherwise, but the stubborn look on Sasuke's face told him that he stood firm on this. Itachi pulled his hand back, "Well, consider it a gift you deserve for saving my life,"

"I did not!" Sasuke argued.

"You know nobody else threw themselves in front of me to stop…that man. You were the only one that did that. You can't understand how grateful I am to you, Sasuke. Please, accept it as a gift. You deserve it more than you think," Itachi said.

Sasuke wanted to refuse once more, but Itachi's pleading eyes had him nodding and accepting. All the while he still didn't feel worthy. That's why he bowed deeply at him, trying his best to show his gratitude.

"Thank you Itachi! I'll make sure you remain safe and don't regret gifting me. This means a lot to me," he hugged the shoes to his chest as he said it.

Itachi ruffled his hair, "Thank you as well, Sasuke," Itachi let out an exasperated breath at Sasuke's actions. Although inside he was thinking that this boy was silly, he knew the reasons behind the way he was acting. Someone in Sasuke's life had told him he wasn't worthy of even comfortable shoes, and that stirred anger in Itachi.

How could anyone deny this precious boy…

Although, honestly Sasuke didn't look much older than him, he had to wonder about him.

Sasuke smiled at the gesture.

Sasuke then struggled with putting on the shoes. He'd never worn any before and blushed when Itachi suddenly lifted him up and set him on the sink counter. He was mortified when Itachi kneeled down to help him.

Damp napkins on hand, Itachi gently wiped Sasuke's feet clean.

Sasuke groaned, begging him to just direct him not do it for him.

"Itachi I can…"

"Pay attention Sasuke," Itachi cut off sternly, and Sasuke watched as Itachi explained what he was doing. Hanging off his every word, he swore next time he'll do it all on his own. Once his feet were cleaned, Itachi had pulled soft warm socks over his chilled feet. His touch was strong, lingering, and had his heart pounding in his chest about to escape.

The feeling of shoes encasing his feet was foreign. It felt odd, and yet not at the same time. Sasuke jumped down from the sink to test it out.

There was support, balance, and it was warmth.

"Do they fit alright?" Itachi asked, watching him closely.

Sasuke smiled, "Yes."

A sudden knock on the door had them jumping. Gathering their things they hurried to leave, disregarding the questioning looks they got when they exited together. Whispers followed after them, but neither cared.

"Where are we going now?" Sasuke asked, "and what can we do for you to feel better?" Sasuke didn't want to pressure Itachi about taking them back to the demon realm, but it worried him. What if they were stuck here…

Although, watching how his hand was being held in Itachi's he thought he wouldn't be too bad to stay here, like this, forever.

"I'm afraid it's not as simple as I first made it seem," Itachi said as he walked ahead like he knew where he was going, making it easier for Sasuke to trust and follow him. "In fact, I wasn't even sure where we would land, that we came to the human realm itself seems short of a miracle,"

"Where could we have ended up?" Sasuke asked.

Itachi shrugged. "Don't know to be honest, the dimensions are endless,"

"But, you had to have an idea,"

"I think that because I have knowledge of this world it was probably why we're here, like I thought it, but wasn't consciously making the effort to think of it," Itachi said it in a way that had Sasuke's head spinning. "Don't worry, I will get us back to the demon realm," Itachi tightened his hold on Sasuke's hand, like a promise.

Although in his head he thought, Is going back really worth it?

"Okay," Sasuke glanced at Itachi, figuring that for now all he could do was trust that he meant what he said.

He was at Itachi's mercy after all.
