Chapter 20: Burning Anger and Confusion
Derek wasn't seen, he had made sure of it. The police had gone doing God knows what somewhere close to his room, but he took that chance anyways. They had seen what had happened the night before, how hysterical he had went trying to revive Parker as best he could, not even listening to his superior. Hell, he probably wouldn't even listen if they told him to stay away from his room.
Slowly, he shut the door, before grabbing a chair, dragging it next to the bed. Parker was hand cuffed, his bruised body lying there asleep after his experience on the other side of the realm, dying for those few minutes causing everyone pain and havoc.
He had some internal bleeding, Burke working on him for a good three hours, repairing tears and damages.
"Parker!" he yelled, directing his booming voice at his ear. "Parker!" he said once again until his eyes fluttered, slowly waking up from his nap. His eyes setting on Derek.
Derek looking pained, tortured, and ready to pounce at any moment. His blue eyes rimmed red, new set of tears that had swelled the skin around his eyes while he had sobbed in his office loud enough to have a nurse come and check up on him.
"Hey Der..." Parker smiled before trying to move, a groan leaving his mouth. He noticed the cuffs. "Where the fuck am I Shep?" he asked, slightly paniced although he did not dare to move, causing him to ache at his sides.
"You're at the hospital." Derek stated quietly.
"Wh...what? Why the hell am I in the hospital? A...and the handcuffs? Why am I handcuffed Shep? What the fuck happened?" his voice growing in volume trying to release his arm from the metal bars around his bed.
"Why do you think you're here? Like this?"
"I...I don't know." Parker winced his free hand moving to his head, feeling a sharp pain from his yelling. "Did...was...accident. Was I in an accident?" he asked.
"You can say that." Derek said quietly, his arms crossed over his chest not feeling any pity at the body that was confused over his state of being.
"Oh fuck! Fuck! What happened? How did I get like this?" Parker asked.
Derek's eyes did not leave him, only growing wide at the act he was putting up making his blood boil.
"You don't remember?" he growled.
"Remember what Derek? We went out for a couple of drinks. You, me, Mer-"
"Don't you ever say her name!" he snapped, restraining himself from coming after him, his fist clenched.
"Woah, sorry. I had a lot to drink the other night. Be a good friend and tell me what the fuck happened since my head feels as if it had been punched numerous times in the exact same spot." he moaned.
"You want to remember?" Derek asked.
"Yeah, I do."
"Okay, fine. Your last year of high school, you were the captain of the football team. There was a dance at the end of the year. Did you go?"
"No." Parker scoffed. "Those fucking things are lame."
"Too cool, huh? Then what did you do Parker? Tell me, I'm quite interested."
"What does this-"
"Answer the damn question!" Derek snapped, grabbing onto the side of his chair, digging his finger into the seat wanting to hurt him once again.
"Fine. Me and a couple of friends hung out, that's it." he explained.
"Just hung out? Just the guys? There were no girls around?"
"Ummm...I guess there was one."
"So there was one girl!" he exclaimed. "Perhaps this girl was just a freshman, fourteen years old and wanted to spend some time with you. Was she a freshman?"
"Well yeah-"
"And perhaps you drove her home in your beat up old car that used to be Mark's once upon a time. Did you drive her home?"
"Yeah-"
"And when she wanted to leave you wouldn't let her go. You took advantage of that girl and used her even if she said no. You took away her pride, her dignity, everything. You hurt her in the most horrible way didn't! You raped her!"
"What! No, Derek-"
"You raped Meredith! And you did it again!" he screamed, shoving the chair to the ground as he grasped Parker's gown. "Do you remember now? Do you remember the way she fought you and told you no, to stop but you didn't listen? Do you remember my fists hitting you, causing you to be this way? Huh, do you?"
"No, I don't know what you're talking about." he said, shaking his head unable to hide from the intense fire burning in Derek's eyes, burning right through him.
"Liar." he snapped. "I saw it, Aaron saw it, Meredith...my Meredith was put through it. And I am going to make sure you rot in hell for what you have done."
"Der-"
"The next time I see you, you'll be in an orange jump suit behind bars. I'll make sure of it." he spat in front of Parker's face before shoving him back down on the bed, stalking off out of the room.
