Chapter 4
"Hmmm, so he took her there, huh?" I said as I eyed a tiny spec from afar.
From my side, a conversation of some girls that I recognized from earlier made me look towards them.
"Look! That's salamander-sama's yatch!"
"Awww! I wanted to go to the party too!"
I shook his head.
"What is it with fangirls, anyway?"I thought to himself.
"Come on! Haven't you gotten used to it after being with Sasuke." A deep voice from inside my head answered.
"No! I haven't, y'know! They're like: 'OooO, he's so handsome. OooO, he's so cool!' y'know. BLEAH!" I mocked inside his mind.
"Maybe he's just jealous!" A certain one-tailed tanuki cackled from the same mindscape.
"I am not, you… you..." I began my retort, but I struggled to think of the other's name. "What's your name again?"
Now, the tanuki began screaming obscenities at me for not remembering his name. His siblings struggled to hold him back as he wanted to pummel from inside my mindscape.
But then, I sensed a familiar presence approaching.
"Hold that, thought guys!"
Back in the real world, a familiar pink haired young man trudged through the streets as he nursed his comically large abdomen.
"Bwaah! I am so full!" The pinkette sighed out loud in content.
"Aye, sir!" The small blue cat said.
The pinkette's nose twitch like he recognized a familiar scent. "This smell…"
"Hey, Naruto!" Happy greeted. "Nice seeing you around again!"
"Well, if it isn't Natsu and Happy, again." I said.
"What are you doing here?" Natsu asked. "Aren't you supposed to be with Lucy?"
"Well, she went with Salamander into her yacht," I answered pointing at the small speck in the ocean. "He said he's taking her to Fairy Tail, y'know."
"What did you say?" Natsu asked with a dark look on his face, while Happy adapted a surprised look on his face.
"I said, he's taking her to join Fairy Tail," I repeated. "Why? Is something wrong?"
"That bastard…" That was the last thing Natsu said before he told Happy to fly him to ship leaving me behind.
SALAMANDER'S PARTY
The yacht blew its horn as it sailed through the seas. Inside, there were a lot of ladies all dressed elegantly as they enjoyed a party thrown by a dark blue, spiky-haired man. Among these lovely ladies was a certain buxom blonde girl. Currently, she was sequestered in a room with the owner of the yacht.
"Lucy, huh? Such a nice name." The blue haired man praised.
"Thank you," Lucy answered with a big smile on her face. She opened her eyes and asked, "Don't you have other guests?"
"Never mind them," He waved off her concern. "The only one I am interested in is you…"
He then broke into a long monologue about Lucy's lips and wine, or something like that. (How am I supposed to remember? Lucy only told me what happened.) She cringed at the creepiness factor that the blue haired wizard was presenting with. He snapped his fingers and droplets of wine floated over towards the blonde's lips as if they were solid.
Lucy's eyes widened as she sensed something fishy in the wine, but it was too late. The wine was already in her mouth broken into liquid and entered her system. She stood up to confront Salamander.
"What is the meaning of this?" She asked no longer amused. "The wine is drugged, isn't it?"
Salamander walked forward. "Do not worry, my little Lucy. I assure you will have the time of your life."
"St-stay away from me," Lucy waved her hand forward, but her vision was getting blurry.
"Just give in, already. You won't regret what I have planned for you." He winked at her.
The blonde fell back down to the couch behind her. Her body was getting heavier. She couldn't even lift up her arms.
Salamander reached over to her thighs. The sound of metal clanging to each other sounded when he moved her skirt. He picked them up to reveal gate keys. "Ohh, I see you're a wizard yourself. No matter, you wouldn't need this anymore."
"Why is this happening? It can't be…" Lucy lamented her fate.
"Well then, let's get started, shall we?" Salamander said as he readied himself for a time of his life.
"What's this?!" His night was ruined when a crashing sound broke him out of his mood.
A familiar pink haired wizard tore through the roof landing in the middle of the room with a determined expression on his face.
"You! You're that kid from earlier!" Salamander said in surprise.
"Natsu…" Lucy weakly said.
As soon as he landed on the ship, all the bravado was replaced by a greenish hue of sea sickness. "Urk! No good! I can't take it!"
Lucy was momentarily broken out of her spell by Natsu's antics. "Ehhh! What's with you all of a sudden?!"
"What's this? Where did you come from kid?" Salamander asked the kid, but he was ignored due to his condition. "No matter. The way you are now, you won't pose a threat to me." He waved him off.
Suddenly, a golden flash lit up from behind him followed by a familiar voice.
"Geez, Natsu. Here I thought that you could handle yourself, y'know," I said.
"N-naruto?" Lucy groggily said. "How did you?"
"No time to explain. Let's get you out of here." I said.
"Wha–"
I placed a hand on Lucy's shoulder and we disappeared in a flash.
BACK IN HARGEON PORT
An oddly shaped kunai with was embedded onto the ground on the port. Seagulls were eyeing it weirdly, not knowing what to make of it. They were startled when a golden flash appeared beside the kunai.
"How did we get here?" Lucy asked when she realized we weren't in the yacht anymore.
"It's my ju–" I cleared my throat almost slipping there. "I mean, it's one of my spells."
"You're a wizard too?" She asked with a shocked look on her face.
"Why? Don't I look like one?" I asked back.
"No, it's not that…" Lucy voice trailed off thinking she offended me. She decided to change the subject. "Will Natsu be okay?"
"Well–"
An explosion came from the yacht catching the attention of everyone in the port.
"Ahhh! I can't believe Salamander tricked me into going to his ship!" Lucy complained.
"You should have seen the look on your face," Naruto joked.
"Anyway, we have to get those other girls back to shore," Lucy said.
Happy flew down from the sky to greet them holding some keys. "How'd you get here so fast?"
"Uhhh…Magic…" I answered.
Lucy gasped giving happy no time to comment. "My keys!"
"These are yours?" Happy asked.
She nodded her head in glee as the flying blue cat handed them over. "I thought I would never get them back after that creep took them away."
"I found them lying on the floor. I figured they belonged to you." Happy explained.
"Well, in any case, it's my turn to shine!"
Lucy jumped down to the water and dipped a golden key to the saltwater.
"Open, Gate of the Water Bearer! Aquarius!" She yelled causing a golden light to shine around them similar to my jutsu earlier. The blue cat and I were mesmerized by the spell and by what came after.
The water around Lucy sloshed around and when the light died down, a royal blue mermaid appeared. The mermaid had a long, blue fish-tail, light blue hair that reaches up to her waist, and a large bust. Her eyes were blue and seemed to have no pupils. She was wearing a revealing dark blue bikini top and on each arm, there was a golden armlet and bracelet. There was a circlet, three piercings on her tail, and a golden belt around her waist and light blue crystal earrings. A dark blue tattoo was drawn right under her collarbone. She was wielding an urn which I figured she uses to channel her magic.
Lucy was feeling pretty proud of herself for what she did, not to mention the awe that I and Happy were showing her.
"You like what you see boys?" Lucy asked aloud. "I'm a Celestial Wizard! I use keys to open gates to summon spirits to help me in battle. Now, Aquarius…Help me get that ship to shore!"
"Tsk…" Aquarius clicked her tongue causing the look of awe to disappear from our faces.
"Her spirit doesn't even listen to her," Happy whispered to me.
"Yeah, y'think she could do something if all her spirits are like that," I said back.
"No, no, no!" Lucy said flailing her arms around. "What are you mad about this time?"
"Shut up, little girl!" The mermaid said. "Listen here, girl. The next time you drop my key, I'll kill you."
The confident expression on the buxom blonde's face disappeared. "S-sorry!"
Happy and I looked at each other and shook our heads.
The spirit took this moment to gather magic onto that urn of hers. A huge wave formed at the spirits command washing away everything in the water's path including Lucy and the cat. Where'd I go you ask? Well I teleported away before the water could hit me.
The yacht flew into the Harbor past the shore digging through the sand in its wake.
"Why did you have to get me to?!" Lucy complained to her spirt.
Happy's head dug out of the sand dripping wet. "That was messy!"
A golden light lit up close to them startling everyone in the vicinity. "Geez Lucy! That was excessive, y'know."
Aquarius gave me a look that I've seen somewhere before. She turned to Lucy saying, "So, you've gone and gotten yourself a man."
"That's… That's–" Lucy struggled to form her words.
She dragged Lucy towards herself with an arm around her neck. "I must say, I can't help but feel jealous to you with the catch you got." Aquarius continued.
"But he's not my–"
"It's okay. I understand." The spirit gave her a pat on the shoulder. "But, I'll tell you this, if you tell my boyfriend about this, I'll kill you."
"WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO YOUR BOYFRIEND IS!" Lucy snapped.
"Then that's good for you. I don't have to kill you. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to meet my boyfriend. Good luck with yours!" Aquarius said goodbye.
"How many times do I have to say that he's not–" She said to no one in particular as the royal blue mermaid already disappeared.
"Oooo, you love–" Happy began to tease only for Lucy to throw a rock to the cat, cutting him off.
"Tsk, no one's listening to me today!" Lucy said.
I stood there clueless about the conversations happening around me. "I do not know what is going on, y'know. What's happening?"
"Don't start Naruto," Lucy warned. "Let's just check out what happened to them."
INSIDE THE YACHT
"Natsu!" Happy yelled as we burst into the room that we were in earlier.
The pink haired young man stood there staring off the wizard named Salamander with his goons standing around the two.
"Clobber him," Salamander ordered.
"Uhm, I should help him." I said.
"Natsu can handle himself," Happy said. "He's a wizard too?"
"What?" Lucy was surely surprised.
I just shrugged and decided to watch the events unfold.
Natsu tore his sleeves that were torn from their fight earlier and spoke up, "So, you're a Fairy Tail wizard?"
Salamander's goons stopped as he spoke and an evil smile graced the blue haired fire wizard's lips. He decided to humor the pinkette. "Yeah, what about it?"
The pink-haired wizard sported a look of rage. "Cause I'm from Fairy Tail and I have never seen you in my life."
Lucy was shocked to say the least, while I was amused by the situation.
Two of the goons were knocked by Natsu in his rage. The remaining goons backed up in fear as they saw the emblem plastered below the pinkette's shoulder.
"That symbol…"
"What should we do?"
"Bora-san, he's the real deal!"
"Idiot!" The now named Bora scolded his henchmen. "Don't use that name."
He turned to Natsu. "As for this fellow, he won't last long with me." He was blasted by the blue-haired wizard engulfing him in a massive conflagration.
Bora smirked and seemed pretty proud of himself.
"Gotta help him!" Naruto moved to aid the teen.
Happy held a hand in front of Naruto, which made the blonde male look at him oddly.
"But he's in trouble," Naruto said.
The blue cat only shook his head and pointed at the flames.
The blonde looked again.
From inside the roaring blaze, a man's eyes seemed glow and glare at the attacker. Just like that, the flames started to swirl like water being sucked into a drain, and that drain was Natsu's mouth.
When all the fire was consumed, Natsu was revealed to be unscathed. This came to a huge shock to Lucy and Bora, and huge intrigue to me.
"Geez, are you really a fire wizard?" he said as he wiped his mouth clean, just like he just finished an actual meal. "Your fire tastes horrible, but thanks for the meal anyway."
"Here I goooo!"
"Fire Dragon: -" Magic started gathering in the form of fire around Natsu's mouth as cocked his head back.
"It can't be," One of the henchmen finally recognized the pink haired kid.
"What? What do you know?" Bora asked.
"He's the real Salamander!" He answered.
Behind Bora and his henchmen standing at the door, Naruto perked up. "Uh oh…I think he's gonna wreck the place!"
"—Roar!"
Fire streamed out of Natsu's mouth engulfing everyone in the current area. Unfortunately for me and Lucy, we were standing behind Bora and his men who had their backs to the door. No one saw it at that time, but before anyone knew it, I closed my eyes for a second. When I opened them, a familiar ripple pattern which nobody noticed at the time.
As the flames approached up, a look of horror made its way into Lucy's face.
"No, Natsu! We're in the—"
It was too late. She took the blue cat in her arms and braced herself for the inevitable.
*BOOM*
Lucy opened her eyes to see that she was unharmed from the whole ordeal. Everything behind them was free from damage, but everything in front of them was burned away from Natsu's attack. Happy broke free from Lucy's grip and looked at her in awe.
"Lucy, it can't be!" He said with eyes lighting up. "You're a Fire Dragon Slayer too?"
"No, cat! I'm a celestial wizard!" Lucy scolded.
Happy turned to Naruto. "Then, you're the dragon slayer?"
"Uh, sorry bud, hate to burst your bubble, but no." I answered.
"Then, how are we not burnt to a crisp." Happy asked.
"Uhh, the heavens have not forsaken us yet?" I suggested.
Happy shrugged and accepted my answer, "I guess that makes sense."
"It clearly does not!" Lucy yelled at the cat.
Just then, the sounds of metal clopping on the pavement could be heard approaching the pier. Just that sound alone caused Happy and Natsu to panic.
"Oh no! It's the army!" They said running (in Happy's case, flying) away only to be blocked by more soldiers.
"What is all this mess?" The one wearing knight armor asked. The other soldiers broke away from the group and started investigating the area.
"Boss, it's the wanted wizard!" One of the soldiers reported.
I decided to take the advantage of that. "Uh, it was them, sir, y'know."
Lucy was a bright girl. She realized what I was trying to do and chimed in. "He's right sir. They kidnapped the girls and was taking them to Bosco."
I looked at her oddly surprised at the revelation, but Lucy elbowed me in the arm reminding me to not look suspicious.
"Ow—" I nursed my arm, but I recovered quickly. "I, uh, I mean they kidnapped everyone with seduction magic or something like that."
"And all this destruction?" he asked gesturing over towards the wreckage the yacht caused.
"It was the kidnappers, sir." Lucy explained sounding like a damsel in distress. "Natsu here rescued us. They tried to take over but they ended up crashing into the port."
I tell you I tried my damn hardest to hold in my snickers, so I won't look suspicious to the Army.
"Is that so," The platoon leader said. "I'm sorry for the trouble they caused you."
He turned to his men. "Take them away?"
"Yes sir!"
The guards let go of Natsu and immediately placed Bora and his goons on handcuffs. Natsu looked confused when the guards let him go.
"You Fairy Tail wizards be careful not to cause anymore damage," One of the guards told him.
Natsu vigorously nodded his head and ran towards Naruto and Lucy. They watched as they loaded the criminals into their carriage.
When the army left, Natsu turned to us and said, "So, Lucy… I heard you wanted to join Fairy Tail."
"Yeah, I'm bummed I almost fell for his join Fairy Tail, nonsense." Lucy sighed. "Now, I don't know if I'll ever be able to join the guild."
"Follow us, then." Natsu offered.
"Where?" I asked.
Happy floated down from somewhere and answered, "Where else? To Fairy Tail!"
Lucy had a dumbfounded look on her face. "You two are Fairy Tail wizards?!"
"Here we go again, Lucy, y'know," I shook my head at her in teasing. "First, you thought they weren't wizards. Now, you're implying that they don't look like they belong in Fairy Tail."
"No, no, no," Lucy waved her arms in front of her. "I-it's not that…"
"Just messing with you!" I chuckled.
Lucy fumed and punched me in the arm. "Baka! Baka!"
"Ow! Okay, okay! I'm sorry, y'know" I nursed my arm. "I don't think they won't take it the wrong way, right guys?"
The smile disappeared from my face as I saw that they weren't even listening to our banter. Once again, the green hue returned to Natsu's face as soon as he realized he was standing on a yacht.
"The ship's not even moving anymore!" Lucy said scolding the two.
"Yeah Natsu, we're back on solid land already," The floating blue cat chimed in.
"I know…" Natsu croaked. "But still…"
Happy sighed and carried the pinkette back to the pier. As soon as the blue cat sat him down, his nose twitched and the color returned to his face and the liveliness his demeanor.
"Hoo! I don't feel sick anymore!" Natsu cheered.
"B-but how is that different from over there," Lucy questioned.
"Shh, don't stress yourself out," I told her as I offered a hand to help her out of the wreckage.
Inside my mindscape, a familiar voice of a particular two tailed cat biju spoke saying, "She can be a good mate, Naruto-kun."
I ignored her and focused on the lady in front of me. Lucy gladly took my hand, but she continued to complain and nearly tripped on some debris. Fortunately for her, I caught her before she can face plant on the ground.
"See…Keep thinking like that and you might end up getting hurt," I teased. "Besides, you remember where were headed to next?"
THE TOWN OF MAGNOLIA
Before getting here, we first had a huge argument about how were we going to get here. Long Story, Short, Natsu lost the argument, or more specifically, the lady in the group forced Natsu to get on the train. (She just probably didn't want to ruin her outfit and make-over. Who I am to judge?)
And so, there we stood at our last stop in the train station of the town of Magnolia, the home of our destination. We stood there for a few minutes while we waited for Natsu to recover from his uhh ailment (?). While waiting, I was able to get a good look around town using some clones I secretly created. What? Natsu was taking too long.
Natsu took us at through the central path. He told us that the path led directly to the guild hall. Lucy was practically squealing with excitement with the thought of seeing the guild she had looked up to all this time. And as for me, I wanted to check out the guild I have been hearing about every time I went out of Tenrou.
As we made our way there now, I can't help but remember that Mavis was keeping information from me. I think she knows more than she let on. Every time I told her about the news of Fairy Tail, it was like a chill was running up her spine, like she already heard this news countless times before, and in person at that. I don't know where that last part came from, but I have rambled on for too long.
And in that span of time, we made it to an imposing three store building that reminded me of the castles owned by daimyo back at home. The design was made up of pagoda that cascaded into smaller pagodas as you reached the roofs summit. The pagodas consisted of extremely long, arched tiles lined up one after the other and possessing simple curved protrusions jutting upwards on the building's angles. On the highest roof, topping the summit of the building, sat a simple, round and pointed dome that bore a flag on its point. Just below the dome was another roof housed a large banner with the guild's symbol on it, held up by a pair of vertical poles. The entrance was with a similar design to the dome at the roof's summit and just above that one, the name of the guild was carved on the massive frame. It was topped by a protruding heart shape and flanked by a pair of fairies at either side of the name.
Lucy practically had stars in her eyes as she stared at the massive guild hall right in front of her.
"Uhh, Lucy?" I called for her attention trying to break her attention by snapping my fingers in front of her face, but it was to no avail.
"Maybe she's hungry!" Happy suggested. "I can give her some of my fish."
"She clearly isn't, y'know," I shot down his idea. "Geez, you've been talking about fish since we got on the train.
"It's not as bad as Lucy overthinking about meeting everyone once we get here," Natsu chuckled.
Lucy took that moment to break herself out of her self-induced trance to give the thee of us a light glare.
"I can hear you talking about me, you know?" Lucy said.
Natsu just laughed her off. "Come one! Let's go in and meet everybody!"
"Wait, wait, wait!" Lucy wildly waved her hands in front of her. "Do I look bad? Did my make-over get ruined? What if they make me say a whole speech in front everybody? I didn't even prepare anything?"
"Wait, there's a speech?" Natsu asked aloud.
"What speech?" Happy added unhelpfully.
This only served to make Lucy panic even more. Her mind raced a mile a minute to think of a whole speech to say in front of the bustling people we could hear coming from inside the guild hall.
"Geez guys, you two aren't helping, y'know," I told the two supposed Fairy Tail Wizards. "Since you two are part of the guild, shouldn't you be able to tell us what to do to join the guild."
"Uhh, you have a point," Natsu said.
"Aye!" was all what Happy said to that.
Damn that reminded me of myself a stupid young kid.
I pushed that thought to the back of my head and turned to Lucy. "Relax, Lucy. You still look as pretty as when I first met you, y'know…"
That last part made her blush a bit.
"…And besides, you'll do fine! What could possibly go wrong?" I continued to ease her worry.
"Uhh, thanks, Naruto," Lucy smiled. "I feel better now."
We were about to enter the guild when a new voice called out from behind us, "Naruto? Is that you?"
A/N: Yooo! Sorry for taking too long. I got caught up in exams and a couple of hangouts with my friends during the past weekends. That only gave me time and energy to write my other fanfic. Hehe! Sorry. So how are ya guys doin'? Do you have ideas on side stories? If you do, leave a review down below.
Anyway, don't forget to read and review.
