Chapter 12

Five wizards sat on a train going to a destination we are yet to know about.

They were currently talking about the job that the redhead in the group had dragged them to. Well, she dragged Natsu and Gray to this job, but Natsu had to drag Naruto in and the latter dragged Lucy into this.

At this particular moment though, their conversation had taken a dark turn.

Erza's expression darkened. "Well, on my way back, I met this shady group. They were noisy, talking about random things, when one of them let slip a name, Lullaby."

"Lullaby?" Naruto asked. "What's that? Magic to put somebody to sleep?"

Erza shook her head. "I do not know, myself, but if it is sealed, then it might contain some powerful magic."

"What if it was just a bunch of wizards trying to break a seal?" Gray offered. "Maybe it was part of their job?"

"That is what I thought of at first as well," Erza said. "Until I heard the name Erigor."

"Who?" Naruto asked.

"He's the ace of a guild called Eisenwald," Erza answered. "He was given the name Reaper for taking on solely assassination requests despite the council's prohibitions on giving these types of requests."

"You don't think they are related Sandayu and Yuki?" Lucy asked.

"Sandayu and Yuki?" Erza gave them a curious look.

"Yes, they were the assassins we fought on our job," Lucy explained.

"I see," Erza said. "As far as I know, Sandayu and Yuki are from different guilds."

"Anyway, six years ago, they were kicked out of the wizard guild's league, so now they are considered a dark guild," She continued.

"Dark guild?" Lucy said in shock.

"That's a pretty light punishment for a group of assassins," Naruto commented.

"That wasn't all," Erza corrected. "The guild master was arrested and the guild was forced to disband. Though, most dark guilds continue on despite the order to disband."

"Yeah, like I said," Naruto reiterated. "Light…"

"I shouldn't have let you talk me into this," Lucy muttered cowering in fear as she sat on her seat.

"Don't worry Lucy, we got out of the first one, didn't we?" Naruto tried to calm her down.

"I don't know, we're taking on a whole guild this time," Lucy didn't heed the former shinobi's words. The concept of Dark Guilds spooked her to no end.

Though, there was something that scared her more than the dark guilds. It was the dark aura that Erza was exuding as they stepped off the train. "I should've taken them out when I had the chance."

"Yeah, Erza," Gray added. "You probably could've taken them out yourself."

"They got a hold of some powerful magic. I couldn't afford to act rash," Erza reasoned. "But now, I have decided that we must not overlook this matter."

"Cool," Naruto said. "So, what's the plan?"

"We'll march into their guild directly," Erza said.

"I am starting to like this idea," Gray said.

"That doesn't sound like a plan," Lucy's body drooped. "Naruto, please help me convince them."

"Sounds good! I like it!" Naruto chimed in.

"Oh god," Lucy's body drooped even more. "I'm surrounded by a bunch of idiots."

"Aye," Happy floated next to Lucy with a fish in his mouth. "Has anyone seen Natsu?"

"What?" Everyone else gained shocked expressions.

"Natsu's not here?!" Lucy snapped. "He was with us at the train!"

"Come to think of it," Naruto looked around. "Our group is awfully quiet."

"This is no good! I know he is not good with transportation, yet I neglected him just because he we were talking!" Erza berated herself. She turned to Lucy, then lowered her head. "Hit me! I deserve it!"

"Kit, this is your chance," Kurama tempted him from within his mindscape. "You can spank her right on her behind."

"No, Kurama," Naruto internally shook his head. "She'll kill me if I did!"

"For once I agree with the fox!" Shukaku cackled. "Do it. I know you want to."

Naruto walked forward briefly considering the fox's words, but then the memories of Sakura punching him the next century just for breathing in her general direction back when they were kids. This was enough for Naruto to reconsider his decision.

What sealed the deal though was Happy noticing him standing behind Erza. "What's wrong Naruto? You're bright red! You have a fever or something?"

"A-ano…Uh… I'll go get Natsu now! Gotta run!" Naruto jumped.

"Please, even you couldn't catch up with a train," Gray scoffed, but when he opened his eyes, the blonde was already gone. "And he's already left, go figure."

"Doesn't he know that we can stop the train from here?" Lucy asked.

Everyone shrugged at that.

ON THE TRACKS

"Phew that was close," Naruto sighed as he zipped across trying to catch up with the train.

"Why didn't you do it? That was your chance!" Kurama berated his jinchuriki.

"Now, now Kurama. Even though she was asking for it, there are still lines that you should not cross," Matatabi told off her fellow biju.

Kurama merely scoffed at the two-tailed cat.

"See! She gets it!" Naruto told his original biju. "Anyway, how far are we from Natsu?"

"Just a little farther, Naruto," Gyuki answered. "The train will be up ahead."

"I see it!" Naruto yelled as he picked up the pace after seeing the train.

As he got closer to the train, the massive vehicle slowly came to a stop. The blonde wasn't expecting this as he rammed into the back of the train cracking the train walls.

"Ow," Naruto winced in pained as he peeled himself off of the train.

Then the intercom came from the inside of the train saying: WE'VE CONFIRMED THAT THE EMERGENCY BREAK WAS DUE TO A FALSE REPORT. WE WILL DEPART SHORTLY.

A few seconds after the announcement, there was a crash followed by a familiar wizard's loud mouth.

"Natsu?" Naruto asked no one in particular.

He watched as the pinkette flew out of the window and landed on the ground digging a trench with his face. As he lay on the ground dazed from what he had been through, Natsu's nose twitched, picking up a familiar scent.

"That scent…" Natsu muttered.

He quickly got to his feet like nothing happened and looked around. He picked up the owner of the familiar scent who waved at him.

"Yo, Natsu!" Naruto greeted. "That was some fall. Are you okay?"

The dragon slayer wasn't amused at the sight of the blonde. Instead, he went ballistic. "DON'T GIVE ME THAT!" He yelled igniting his fists on fire. "WHAT KIND OF BASTARDS KNOCKS A PERSON OUT AND LEAVES THEM ON A TRAIN."

"Woah, woah! Calm down man!" Naruto tried to stop the irate wizard, but he wasn't listening.

Natsu charged Naruto with his fist in flames with the intent to pummel the latter into the ground. "TELL ME WHOSE IDEA WAS IT?! I'LL KILL 'EM!"

"Don't look at me! It was Erza!" Naruto said as he avoided the punch aimed for him.

A chill run up Natsu's spine hearing the red head's name. With that, the flame disappeared from his hand. He turned to Naruto and forced to keep a calm face. "Wh-why didn't you say so? Say, don't mention that to Erza, will ya?"

"No problem, man…" Naruto sweat dropped at the sudden change in attitude. "By the way, why did you jump out of the train?

Conveniently, a noise gradually got louder and louder, and it was heading straight to them. They turned to see who it was a vehicle that looks like a carriage, but it wasn't pulled by a horse. Instead, there was a contraption that was strapped to Erza's hand pumping something out of it.

The carriage-like thing stopped in front of them and Lucy got the first word out, "Naruto! Natsu! Are you two alright?"

Erza immediately dismounted the vehicle and slammed Natsu on her armor in a hug.

"I've been better," Natsu managed under Erza's grip.

"We've been better," Naruto answered. "Natsu here was telling me why he jumped off the train. So, you were saying?"

"There was a stupid wizard in there who was badmouthing Fairy Tail, so I put him in his place. He said he was part of a guild… what was it called again? Eiseward or something like that." Natsu explained. "So, the train started—"

At the mention of the guild's name, Erza jumped out of her seat and confronted the pinkettte. "Did you say Eisenwald?"

"Yeah! That's it!" Natsu seemed pleased with himself for remembering the name.

But Erza was having none of it, he rushed Natsu and gave him a solid smack on the face. "Why didn't you say so in the first place? Where did he go? Why didn't you stop him? You should have been listening when I was briefing everyone! Honestly, what will I do with you?"

"Cut him some slack, Erza," Gray reasoned. "He was knocked out while you were explaining things after all."

"It's the first I heard of everything," Natsu grumbled to himself.

"What did he look like?" Erza asked finally calming down.

"He had this stupid look on his face. Other than that, I don't remember," Natsu explained. "He did have a stupid looking flute with a three eyed skull."

"That's gross," Gray commented.

"That must be Lullaby," Naruto offered.

"He's right!" Lucy snapped remembering a story she heard in her childhood. "That flute IS Lullaby. It isn't a magic that puts people to sleep! Lullaby is a magic that kills people!"

The listeners were shocked at this revelation, well except for Natsu who couldn't follow Lucy's train of thought.

"He's probably still in the train!" Naruto suggested. "We have to hurry!"

Erza took a deep breath. "In that case, everyone, get in! We have to give chase!"

Natsu stiffened at the mention of another mode of transportation.

"No! Not another vehicle!" Natsu said prying himself off of Erza's grip. "Let's just ru—"

"Where are you going? I said get in!" Erza scolded.

"By the way, Naruto," Lucy asked as they boarded the vehicle. "What happened to you? Why is there a bruise on your face?"

"Oh yeah, about that…" Naruto scratched the back of his head once he got comfortable. "I ran into the train when it suddenly stopped."

"Y-you really did catch up with the train," Lucy muttered in shock.

"Dude, are you even human?" Gray asked.

OSHIBANA STATION

Despite the wizard's best efforts to catch up with their targets, they were too late. It turns out as they were discussing things, the guild had already made its move and took over the station. Even from the distance, they can see the smoke billowing from the station and the mass of people crowding in front of the building.

"We're too late!" Naruto said.

"It looks like it," Gray said.

"They've probably been planning for some time," Lucy added.

The group squeezed through the crowd to the front in order to get a better look at the situation.

Erza walked up to one of the workers trying to calm the crowd and asked, "What's going on?"

The worker gave her an incredulous look, "Wh-who the heck are you?"

BLAM

Erza headbutted the him unconscious.

Everyone sweatdropped as they watched Erza walked up to each of the workers and knock them out as when they gave her no information. This went on until no one else was left for Erza to question.

"This is getting nowhere," Erza said.

"Well, to be fair, you—"

Gray squeezed Naruto's shoulder, "Don't…Just don't question it man…"

"Help me…" Natsu groaned on Naruto's shoulder still not recovering from the ride.

"Are the rune knights still in there?" One of the people in the crowd said.

"I don't know," His companion said. "None of them left the building yet."

The wizards looked at each other.

"We have to get inside and see what's happening," Naruto said.

There were nods from each of the Fairy Tail Wizards, and they were on their way inside. As they walked through the halls, they saw what happened to the soldiers who went in to respond to the situation. None of them stood a chance; their opponents were wizards after all. A little further inside, they came face to face with the entire dark guild.

"Hehe, look here," One of the Eisenwald wizards said. "A couple of damsels."

"You think we could get a taste of them after we take out the idiots with them?" The other guildmates asked.

"Of course!"

"Welcome Fairy Tail!" A tall, lean-built man with silver hair greeted the newcomers silencing the guild. "So glad of you to join us."

Naruto narrowed his eyes at him. His hair reminded him of his sensei's gravity defying hair, except his gave way and fell to the left side of his face. He had an elongated face with sharp features and pointed ears. He even lacked eyebrows! Around his eyes were dark lines that circled each of them and a simple tattoo of a pointed line going town crossed with two more. His upper body was tattooed similarly with his face only larger and more intricate. He was bare chested. His outfit consisted worn out skirt below a darker, shorter cloth tied like a belt, a black scarf in a thin line around his neck, and geta sandals on his feet.

"You must be Erigor," Erza said.

"Th-that's the girl from the bar," An Eisenwald wizard said after recognizing the scarlet-haired wizard.

"I see," The plump wizard muttered. "So, she was the one who leaked our plans."

"What do you plan to do?!" Erza demanded.

"Nothing much," Erigor shrugged not taking her seriously. "We're just bored."

The other dark guild members laughed at their leader's answer.

Naruto finally plopped Natsu on the ground and let him lean on the wall. "Geez, you must really be sick of transportation if you aren't up yet."

Happy fluttered over his best friend and explained the situation, "He's really sick after riding the train, the magic mobile, then you."

Naruto gave him an odd look, but it was Lucy who reacted, "What?! But Naruto is not a vehicle!"

"Flies…" A wizard that looks suspiciously like a shadow user of the Elemental Nations, (But with a stupid look on his face) grumbled as he clutched his ear. "This is all your fault…"

As he said that, the queasy wizard on the floor muttered as he lay on the ground. "That scent…"

Erigor just cackled evilly, "You flies still don't get it? What does this station have?"

"What are you talking about?" Erza demanded.

"Yeah man, just get to the point!" Gray chimed in.

"A lot of people?" Naruto asked causing Erza to give him an incredulous look.

"You are right, but you're missing one more thing," Erigor continued cackling as a draft formed around him lifting him off the ground. He flew to the nearest speakers and slapped it.

"As your friend here had said, thousands of people gather around this here station, if we broadcast the melody here… MUWHAHAHA!"

"You're going to commit mass murder!" Erza snapped.

"All this trouble because you were kicked out of the league of guilds?" Naruto asked.

"This is wrong! Nothing will change if you go through with this!" Lucy yelled.

Erigor stopped his cackles and smirked at Lucy, "Oh little girl, at this point, we are not thinking of what is right and wrong anymore. All we want is AUTHORITY!"

"You're too far gone!" Lucy screamed.

"I would like it very much to watch my guildmates exterminate you flies, but I have a song to play," The scythe-wielding wizard started to hover away. He looked back one last time. "They're all yours, boys."

The Shikamaru look-a-like jumped down and looked the Fairy Tail group hungrily, along with the rest of the guild. They looked like a pack of wolves ready to devour their cornered prey.

The Fairy Tail Wizards held strong. The blonde shinobi in the group even brought out a kunai. "Stop right there!"

He pumped chakra into a kunai and threw it the so-called Reaper. Erigor easily dodged the attack, but the kunai embedded itself on the wall with a massive crack. "You're not getting away."

"Ooo, a feisty fly, are we?" Erigor grinned. "I'm sorry, but I can't—What the—"

"He disappeared!"

"Where did he go?"

"How did he go there?"

The wizards looked around to look around only to find Naruto with another kunai ready to stab it on Erigor. Fortunately for the latter, he was able to parry the small blade with the handle of his scythe.

"Boss!" the other Eisenwald yelled in worry for their leader.

Erigor grit his teeth, "Don't worry about me. Exterminate the fairies, now!"

Natsu was now on his feet and saw Naruto struggling with the Wind Wizard. "No fair!" Natsu stomped like a little kid who was denied his candy. "You always get the strong enemies."

"Don't worry about me!" Naruto reassured his friends as they went through the window as they struggled. "Take care of the others!"

Natsu didn't listen. Instead, he followed the two out of the window to join the fight with Erigor.

As the pink-haired wizard's form retreated out of view, the other wizards turned back to the Fairies.

"You heard the boss!" the dumb-looking Shikamaru slammed his hand on the ground causing the shadows around him to stir.

"I'll take care of them," A wizard in a jacket that made him look like an Egyptian Pharaoh sent black bands circling around his fingers towards the Fairy Tail Wizards.

In the blink of an eye, Erza summoned a sword and sliced the bands to pieces.

"What the hell?" The pharaoh wannabe pharaoh yelled in fury at the failure of his attack to connect.

"A magic sword?" Lucy gasped at the sight.

"Don't worry Rayule," His guildmates consoled him. "We have our own magic swordsmen."

Erza glared at them. She hefted her sword and charged.

WITH NARUTO AND ERIGOR

"Damn, fly," Erigor grumbled as both wizards rolled perfectly to their feet.

"So, I heard you were a wind user," Naruto smirked.

"Why yes! And I will use it to slice you to pieces!" Erigor said hefting his scythe.

"We'll see about that!" Naruto answered as his hand flew into a series of signs.

"What are you—"

"Fūton: Kamaitachi no Jutsu!"

He didn't get to finish his statement as blades of air flew into his direction coming from his opponent's mouth.

A burst of air rose from his feet making him levitate off of the ground and dodging the attack. Once in the air, he spun his scythe creating a magic circle where a powerful tornado made its way for the blonde.

"Storm Bringer!"

Naruto flipped over the attack and kicked himself off a wall behind him. He formed a blue sphere on his hand ready to slam it on the wannabe reaper he was fighting when the force of his kick delivered him to his opponent.

Erigor leaned to the side managing to dodge the sphere despite the speed of the Fairy Tail Wizard's ascent. The blonde flew past him. He took this moment to stab him in the back with his scythe.

As if expecting this, Naruto twisted and parried the scythe's blade with his kunai.

"YOU'RE MINE!" Another voice yelled causing a distraction for both fighters.

"Natsu?" Naruto said as he blocked.

"Tch," Erigor clicked his tongue as his hands went through several gestures.

This time the wind gathered around him creating another cyclone. This time it surrounded him in a suit of armor. This defense repelled both Fairy Tail Wizards away from himself.

"What are you doing, Natsu?" Naruto scolded. "I told you I got this."

"I'm not letting you have all the strong enemies!" Natsu argued back.

"But why'd you leave everyone there?!" Naruto asked. "There was a horde of wizards in there!"

"Are you kidding? Erza could handle that just fine!" Natsu answered back.

An evil laugh came from the wizard floating above them. "I'd like to stay and watch you too chat, but I have a target to kill."

"But first, a parting gift," A magic circle appeared from the outside his armor of wind and sent several projectiles in the surrounding area.

"Shit!" Naruto yelled as he dashed toward his guildmate and erected a dome of earth around themselves.

Once the blonde was sure everything had died down on the outside, he willed the dome to crumble and collapse back onto the ground.

As the dome of earth retracted, Natusu yelled, "I could have dodged everything!"

"I am not taking any chances," Naruto answered. "Now, get ready…"

As the dust from Erigor's attack died down, the two of them looked around only to see destruction from the projectiles of wind. There wasn't an area that was spared by the massive attack. He really was looking to take the two out.

"Natsu!" Happy came flying in the room. "What happened here?"

"The stupid guy with a scythe did this," Natsu answered. "Let's go after them, buddy!"

"Aye!" was the cat's enthusiastic response. He picked up the dragon slayer and flew him out of the opened window.

Naruto sighed. This guy reminded him of himself as a brat. He jumped out of the window catching up with his guild mates.

Outside, the blonde landed on his feet only to see the duo hovering and ogling at something.

"What's going on?" Naruto asked.

Natsu raised his finger and pointed straight ahead.

"Woah," Naruto gasped. "It's a huge wall of wind!"

"How will we get past it?" Happy asked.

"Hmmm…Let me see…" Naruto said slowly raising his hand towards the wall.

"Ow!" Naruto yelled in pain as his hand touched the swirling vortex.

"Naruto!" Happy yelled in concern after hearing the blonde's cry of pain.

"Are you okay?" Natsu said as the blue cat lowered him.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Naruto waved off the concern. "I guess going through isn't an option."

"But your hand," Happy pushed.

"Don't worry," Naruto said. "I heal fast."

As if to illustrate his point, a hissing sound came from his hand accompanied by steam closing the wound completely.

"Woah, you weren't kidding!" Natsu said as he ogled the healing wound.

He then wiggled off of Happy's clutches and got very close to Naruto's face. "Can you teach me that? Can you? Can you?"

Naruto politely pushed Natsu off of him and answered, "Sorry Natsu. I don't think I can teach you that. More importantly we have to get out of here and catch him."

"But how will we get out of here?" Happy asked.

Naruto looked straight up. "I don't think this thing covered the whole area. There must be a—"

"An opening up there!" Natsu yelled completing Naruto's thought. "Happy!"

"Aye!"

"Wait! We have to find the others and—" Naruto tried to reason, but the two weren't listening. "And they're gone…"

From the inside of his mindscape, a deep laugh echoed through the recesses of his mind. "It is like looking at a mirror, huh gaki?"

"He really was like that before?" The four-tailed ape said.

"How you've matured, Naruto if you don't act like that anymore." The two-tailed cat commented.

"I think Bee is no different," Gyuki added his two cents. "Especially when it comes to his rap."

"KEKEKEK, Even so, he's completely different from Gaara!" Shukaku cackled.

"Guys! It's not funny!" Naruto tried to stop his tenants from making a laughing stock out of him but to no avail. The nine-tailed fox was already telling the other biju about his old bratty self.

Naruto stomped on the ground in an attempt to get them to stop. That was until he saw something shiny. He almost flattened it with his sandals. He reached down to pick it up and studied it.

"Hmmm…" Naruto muttered. "Lucy would love to see this."

A/N: Hey here's the next chapter. Sorry for the delayed post. I succumbed to my demons called school. So, yeah. Hope you like the chapter. Bye!
