Chapter 13

"Argh!" Another Eisenwald wizard screamed in pain as he was cut down by another attack by Fairy Tail's own Erza Scarlet.

The last wizard gripped his staff as he watched the last of the sword wielders fall. "so fast…"

"Now, you…" Erza stalked her prey, though she panted from the loss of magic. "Tell me, where did you hide the flute!"

"You'll never stop us, Fairy Tail!" The wizard turned on his heel to retreat.

Erza tensed her leg muscles to dash and stop his retreat, but she fell to her knee.

"Take it easy, Erza," Gray said as he slammed a closed fist on his open palm. Ice crystals formed around the retreating wizard and fully encased him in ice from the neck down. "You drove the magic mobile on the way here and fought almost all of their guild."

"S-sorry," Erza said. "W-we just have to stop them no matter what."

"S-still, that was so cool!" Lucy cooed. "You change armor and weapons so fast!"

"It's nothing," Erza waved off her awe. "More importantly, we have to find out where Erigor could have gone."

"Hmp, that blondie's probably lying on the ground bleeding by now," The wizard interjected. "That blondie wouldn't stand a chance against Erigor!"

"You haven't seen him fight yet!" Lucy defended the boy.

"Where did you hide the flute?!" Erza demanded.

"What does it matter if I tell you?" The wizard taunted. "Erigor would start the song anytime soon.

Erza shot to her feet, "We have to warn everyone!"

"Right!" The two wizards nodded as they ran out the way they came in.

GUILD MASTERS' MEETING

"I heard you have two new members, Makarov-dono, and I heard the boy's quite the hottie," An elderly, bald man said as he sat beside the Fairy Tail Guild Master.

He was wearing a purple spaghetti strap shirt paired with a vertically striped pink and purple shorts. His look was completed by a gold and fuchsia hoop neck around his neck and a pair of white wings on his back. His face was decorated with red lipstick and a blush on each cheek. This is Master Bob of the Blue Pegasus Guild.

"Hicc, I don't know about that," Makarov answered clearly inebriated. "But I'm sure the other one is a hottie! Especially her breasts!"

"Those two are pretty good if they completed an S-class job on their first job since they joined," A slim middle-aged man interjected. "And they completed the job without much damage too! I'm impressed."

This middle-aged man is Master Goldmine, the guild master of the Quatro Cerberus Guild. He has a mildly squared face covered in several wrinkles, especially around the sides of his mouth, below his eyes, and on his forehead. Despite his age, he kept his hair in a youthful style, letting it reach down to his shoulders in a straight cut. He wore a simple set of dark clothes, consisting of a plain shit and a pair of pants. He completed his outfit with a large black pointed hat, reminiscent of those worn by warlocks, and a pair of sunglasses obscuring his eyes.

"That is quite a change of pace from all the destruction your children cause the council," Bob commented.

Makarov nodded as he took a huge swig of his ale. "He's only been on one job so far and all I'm getting from him are complements and praises from the townspeople."

"It's a mystery how you don't get a heart attack with how much of a headache your other wizard's have been," Master Goldmine said.

"Don't remind me," Makarov rubbed the bridge of his nose. "These children will be the death of me."

As soon as he said that, a small blue messenger bird carrying an envelope flew in from the window chanting the Fairy Tail Guild Masters' name. "Makarov-sama, you have a message from Mirajane-sama."

"Ooooh," The men in the building swooned as the model's image appeared from the roll of paper.

"You like what you're seeing?" Makarov bragged. "She's Fairy Tail's very own pin-up model! Isn't she so cute?"

"Good evening Master! I hope you're doing well in the Guild Master's meeting," The hologram greeted. "We've got some wonderful news!"

"Oh?"

"Erza took Natsu, Gray, Lucy and Naruto to go on a job!" The mini-Mira figure on the paper broke the good news. "Isn't it exciting?"

The happy-go-lucky expression slowly disappeared from Makarov's face. He could feel a chill ran up his spine as he thought of the implications of the news that was broken to him.

"I think this may very well be our guild's strongest team!" Mira continued. "I just wanted you to know so I wrote this letter. See you soon, master!"

As the model's image dissipated from the paper, the guild master started to sweat bullets.

"Is everything alright, Makarov-dono?" Another guild master prodded for a response.

Bob placed a hand on the short old man, but this only caused him to fall from the table he was sitting on. He landed on the ground as stiff as a corpse could be.

"Makarov-dono!"

OSHIBANA STATION

A massive crowd of people panicked outside the station building as a giant tower of wind was erected around the station's vicinity trapping them inside. A few of the people tried to force themselves through the tower only to be shredded by the circling blades of wind that consisted the tornado.

Erza and co. stood in front of the wall trying to make sense this new spell that erupted from out of nowhere. They heard the collective gasp of the onlookers from the outside after they took out the last of the enemies which was followed by the screams of pain from those who tried to force themselves through.

"What are we going to do?" Gray asked. "The wind will rip us to shreds."

"I don't think any of my keys would work in this situation either," Lucy's shoulders drooped as they hit a roadblock.

"Pst, Lucy," Naruto, who appeared out of nowhere, spoke as soon as he appeared.

"Kyahh!" Lucy jumped as soon as she heard Naruto's voice behind her.

She turned to the newcomer and gave her an angry look, "Don't just appear from out of nowhere! You could give someone a heart attack!"

"How did you get here so fast, Naruto?" Erza asked.

"Yeah, man. I didn't even sense you coming," Gray added.

"It's my juts—spell! Yeah! That's right! It's a spell!" Naruto caught himself.

Erza gave him questioning look but decided not to question further given the circumstances they were in.

"Anyway, how were things in your end?" Naruto asked his friends.

"You should have seen it, Naruto!" Lucy had stars in her eyes. "Erza took them out easily!"

"Oh, is that so?" Naruto nodded at the feat.

"That's Erza for you," Gray whispered to the shinobi. "How about on you end?"

"Natsu distracted us long enough for Erigor to get away," Naruto explained his situation.

"Wait, did you say he left the building?" Erza did a double take.

Naruto nodded. "He flew out of the building."

"But didn't he plan to broadcast the flute through the train's intercom?" Gray inquired.

"That is what we were told," Erza massaged her chin in thought. "If he was spouting all those nonsense about the light guilds…"

"He must be after the guild master's conference!" Lucy and Gray screamed making Naruto tilt his head in confusion.

"And I assume, Natsu pursued them," Erza said.

"That idiot!" Gray scolded no one in particular. "How could he leave here without us?!"

"Well, that's Natsu for you," Lucy copied Gray's statement.

"We have to trust that he will pull through against Erigor," Erza said. "As for us, we have to find a way out of this place."

"I don't suppose any of you have the ability to fly," Naruto tried asking earning shouts from his friends.

The group pondered of a way for them to leave the area. The blonde even almost took Chomei's offer to sprout the wings, but he had to decline. He didn't want to rely on his partners too much. It was then that he remembered the item he picked up earlier.

"Oh, I almost forgot something!" Naruto exclaimed.

He dug something out of his pouch and handed it to the Celestial Wizard. It was a golden key.

"Where'd you find this?" Lucy asked getting excited.

"Happy must have dropped it from his mini knapsack he always carries on his back," Naruto shrugged notsure about what happened, himself. "Any idea whose gate this opens?"

"It's Virgo, the Maiden," Lucy answered. "Guys! This must be our ticket out of here!"

"Open, Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!"

In a golden light, a large, overweight woman with a brutish face and two pony tails. The sudden appearance of the hulking figure startled Gray and Lucy making them too stunned to speak.

"Who has summoned me?" The "Gorilla Maid" asked.

Gray and Naruto shook their heads and pointed to the Celestial Wizard causing her to eep.

"So, you must be my new master," The maid's deep voice droned.

Lucy slowly nodded.

"It's nice to meet you then," She held out her hand, but she noticed that her new master was cowering behind her fellow blonde.

"Pardon me if I scare you," Virgo said.

She closed her eyes in concentration, activating her magic and engulfing her in a golden light just like when she was summoned. When the light died down, standing in place of the gorilla maid was a shorter, pink haired, and blue-eyed maid. "Is this better for you, mistress?"

Lucy walked forward to her new spirit. "Yes, that's better. But…I don't feel good about being called mistress."

"How about 'your highness'?"

"Nah, not that either…"

"How about 'hime'?"

"That's sounds perfect~~"

"That's good and all, but could we hurry it up!" Grey broke their conversation. "We got a maniac to catch."

"Right! Sorry," Lucy apologized. "Virgo, we'll polish the details of our contract later. For now, ano, could you fly us out of here?"

"I'm sorry hime, I don't have that kind of ability," Virgo shook her head.

"Darn," Lucy complained. "How would we get out of this barrier then!"

"If I may interrupt Lucy-hime," Virgo interjected. "I could dig us a hole out of here."

"That's perfect!" Naruto said. "Please do."

"Good job, Lucy!" Erza praised the Celestial Wizard by slamming her gauntlet-clad hand on her shoulder knocking her flat on her face.

She, then, turned to the Maiden, and spoke. "Please hurry up."

"Then, here I go!" And so, Virgo spun in her place digging a tunnel out of the cage created by the massive cyclone.

"We're out! Finally," Gray sighed in relief when he saw the tower of wind as he climbed out of the hole.

"Great, let us make haste to the magic mobile!" Erza ordered.

"Wait!" Lucy yelled as she held her skirt down from the force of the wind.

"Hime! Your underwear is almost showing!" Virgo yelled over the sound of the wind.

"Worry about your own!" Lucy yelled back.

She then turned to Gray and Naruto, "DON'T YOU TWO DARE LOOK!"

"Sorry!" Both boys turned away and ran towards the direction Erza went.

"So, hime…who's that blondie?" Virgo asked. "Is he your boyfriend?"

"What?! NO!"

WITH NATSU AND HAPPY

"Argh," Natsu grit his teeth in frustration as he tried to hit the floating wizard. "Get down here and let me hit you!"

"Where was all that talk earlier, fly!" Erigor taunted as he hovered just above Natsu's reach.

"Natsu…" Happy groaned. "I'm sorry…Too tired…"

"It's okay buddy," Natsu reassured his blue-colored partner. "I'll get him."

Once again, Natsu tensed his legs to try and slam his flame-encased fist at the reaper.

"Puny Fly!" Erigor yelled as he swiped his hand creating a vortex of wind that knocked Natsu aside. "This will shut you up for good!"

Happy groggily sat up from unconsciousness just in time to see his best friend fall down to his doom. "Natsuuuu! Nooo!"

WITH ERZA AND THE OTHERS

"Remind me again why we're taking this perv over here?" Lucy said he glared at the man who almost got to her as they left.

"Rrrgh," Kageyama groaned. "You're not getting information from me."

"Come on man," Gray said. "Make this easier for us, will ya? Just tell us where Erigor is going."

Kageyama let out a dark laugh causing his wounds to open up. "We had you fooled at the train station too."

"Don't strain yourself," Naruto scolded as he struggled to pull his dominant hand that was attached to the SE plug to bonk the Shikamaru-wannabe on the head. "Just answer the question."

"Think. Where would we, who were stripped of our rights as a guild, would want to strike and get our revenge." He spoke with seriousness in his voice.

"You don't mean—" Erza perked up from the driver's seat. "Sorry Naruto, but we have to hurry."

She stepped harder onto the gas pumping out more magic from the former shinobi and increasing the speed of the magic mobile. She yanked the steering wheel and turned swerving the car to the rail road tracks.

"You bastards," Lucy muttered as she, too, realized what the Shadow User was insinuating.

"You're too late," Kageyama coughed out. "Erigor is probably playing the song at this moment."

"You're forgetting about Natsu," Naruto countered. "He'll stop that wannabe reaper."

"Psh, that hot head?!" The pineapple head spat. "He won't stand a chance against him."

"I may hate his guts, but never count Natsu out," Gray argued. "Never underestimate a Fairy Tail Wizard!"

As soon as Gray declared his statement, Erza slammed her foot hard on the breaks. With the force of the stop, Lucy was thrown forward her face plastering on the driver's seat.

"Urgh," Lucy groaned as she peeled her face off of the seat. "Why'd you stop so suddenly?"

"Mmm, Mmm!" Naruto's muffled voice came from underneath Lucy.

Lucy looked down and saw that her melons were smothering Naruto to death. Immediately, Lucy backed up as far away from the Naruto as the car allowed.

"Phew," The blonde shinobi let out a sigh of relief. "Those pillows almost killed me. Wait…We don't have pillows…"

He looked up and saw Lucy blushing as red as a tomato. That caused him to realize the soft yet jiggly hooters were the 'pillows' that landed on his face.

'Not again,' Naruto thought as a color red slowly crept up his face.

"What's the deal, Erza?" Gray voiced out the two beet red wizard's thoughts.

"Look," the red-head said as she stared forward.

A mini typhoon blew around them shaking the car's metal while a massive burst of flame that danced in the wind. In normal circumstances, the fire would be put out due to the high winds, but this fire was defiantly getting stronger and stronger.

"I-is that Natsu's fire?" Gray said as everyone turned to watch the fire defiantly burn against the blasts of gale.

"AHHH!" Natsu's angry cry came from within the blazing inferno responding to his own emotions.

On the contrary, as Natsu's emotions got stronger and stronger, the wind started dying down, like the flames were consuming them.

Everyone deboarded the car to get a better view.

"FIRE DRAGON: SWORD HORN!"Natsu moved in for his final move.

"It can't be!" Kageyama stuttered in disbelief at what he was seeing. "He defeated Erigor…"

Natsu turned to him with a murderous look still covered in a fiery aura. "You want some more pineapple head?!"

"N-n-no!" Kageyama stuttered out scared of the aura Natsu was exuding.

"Yo, Natsu!" Gray stepped forward to stop another confrontation. "Cool it hot head! It's over! He's harmless now!"

"You wanna fight, Grey?!" Natsu turned to the ice wizard.

"Ahem," Erza cleared her throat getting the dragon slayer's attention. Erza frightened him so much that his cloak of flame dissipated around him revealing a pale white Natsu underneath. The S-class wizard really did scare him so much.

"For a second there, I thought Natsu was going to but heads with Grey again," Lucy said.

"We have to basically get used to that, won't we," Naruto shrugged.

"Well done, Natsu," Erza congratulated the pinkette. "Good job defeating the Reaper."

"Heh, it was easy!" He bragged. "I guess I'm better than Naruto then cause I was able to beat him!"

"Hey! You stole my fight!" Naruto protested. "I had him!"

"That just means you're slow!" Natsu teased further.

"You're one to talk about slow. It took you that long to beat him," Grey berated him. "If you keep this up, you'll make Fairy Tail look bad."

"Hey! It was a hard fight!" Natsu complained. "I'd like to see you do better!"

"Aye!" Happy chimed in.

"Hmp, I could have beaten him in half the time!" Grey said. "And come out of the fight without my clothes getting ripped off!"

"You'd probably like it that way, Ice Stripper!" Natsu argued back.

"At least I don't look as stupid as you do, wearing a scarf while you're naked!" Grey didn't back down.

"Don't you think I noticed?" Natsu said. He then turned to Lucy and asked. "Lucy, may I borrow your clothes?"

The Celestial Wizard covered herself protectively, "Why me?!"

Naruto sighed. "Lucy's clothes won't fit you, Natsu. Here, you can borrow mine."

With one smooth motion, Naruto opened a scroll and placed his finger on the seal after drawing blood. With a small puff of smoke, an orange shirt that would fit Naruto's size came out of nowhere which he threw to a surprised Natsu.

"Woah! It's like Erza's magic!" Happy commented in awe.

"Where'd you get that, man?" Grey asked.

"Uhh, it's kinda hard to explain," Naruto scratched the back of his head. To be honest, he really didn't get the theory of how the seals worked; his mind didn't work that way! He just worked on how to do the trick, and now he was able to do it. (That explanation is an understatement. With no teacher to teach him, he had to do it in trial and error a lot of times.)

"Let's not bother Naruto about that right now," Erza broke the interested stares that were directed over to Naruto. "Anyway, we can rest easy now that the masters are safe thanks to Natsu."

Smiles were exchanged among the group at their accomplishment. They were just a hastily put together group that took on an entire guild (well, mostly Erza did), but it was a feat nonetheless.

"I can finally get to enjoy my comfy bed as long as I like!" Lucy sighed dreamily.

"I'm going to hit up Mira's ramen!" Naruto declared. "I've been gone too long!"

"But you just had some when you got back," Grey said.

"That was just one day Grey," Naruto explained. "The day after, I had to leave again. I'm sure ramen misses me already."

"Don't you mean you miss ramen?" Lucy corrected.

"It's a two-way relationship," Naruto said.

"Why don't we go visit Master at their meeting?" Erza suggested. "Clover Town's not far from here, and we do have to report the results to Master anyway."

"But the ramen…" Naruto croaked.

"Come one, ramen boy," Lucy elbowed her roommate. "You're new here to Fiore right? Don't you want to see the sights?"

"Ooooo, Lucy's asking him ooout~" Happy teased.

"Shut it, cat!" The Celestial Wizard scolded.

Naruto briefly considered this. He was about to answer when the magic mobile's engine sprung to life and accelerated forward without regard for anyone who was in front of it. Fortunately for our friends from Fairy Tail, they were fast enough to get out of the car's path.

"Hey, watch it man!" Grey yelled. "At least give us a warning before moving!"

"You were careless, flies," was all that Kageyama said as he raised the flute from the driver's seat. "Serves you right for trusting me."

"I thought you wanted to get back at Erigor for what he did to you," Naruto said.

"I did! And now that you took him out of the picture, I can continue on with the plans, myself!" Kageyama declared. "So long, flies!"

"Naruto! Can't you teleport to the car like the way you did back at Hargeon?" Lucy suggested.

"No, I can't!" Naruto shot it down instantly. "The target needs to be marked for me to teleport to it."

"Wait, you can teleport?" Natsu asked. "You're holding out on us!"

"Yes! I'm sorry, but there's no time!" Naruto said. "We have to catch up to them!"

"Right!"

CLOVER TOWN

"Great, the guild masters are still here," Kageyama caught his breath as he parked the car in front of the guild building. He didn't run to the location, but he did pump a lot of magic energy from himself to get a far enough lead away from the Fairy Tail Wizards on his tail.

"From this distance, they would easily hear Lullaby's song," he said

With one final huff, he raised the flute to his lips to play the song. Before he can start the tune though, a chill ran up his spine as he felt the eyes of someone else staring at him.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" The man's voice rang in his ears. "Don't mind the old man sitting here. You're a musician, aren't you?"

Kageyama slowly and stiffly turned his head to see who the old man who was sitting behind him. Before he could fully turn back, a finger poked his cheeks causing him to turn to him and jump backwards.

"FUWAHAHAHA," The old man burst out laughing at what he did. Kageyama sweat dropped at the what the old man did.

"Who does this geezer think he is?" He mumbled to himself.

As soon as he asked that, the old man suddenly stopped like he remembered something important. "No, no, no," He coughed out. "There's no time doing this. I have to find them before they wipe out the whole town."

The old man jumped down from the magic mobile's hood dusting himself off.

"I did not hear them hiring a musician to play for the meeting," the old man said with his back turned. "Anyway, you should go to the hospital. You must have had a rough journey to get here."

'Hmph, how unlucky am I to run into another Fairy Tail fly, and the master to boot! Or maybe… lucky instead,' He thought as a smile laced his lips when an idea formed in his mind.

"A-ano…would you care to listen to one song before you leave?" Kageyama pleaded.

Fairy Tail's Master turned to look at him with a hint of annoyance on his expression. After all, there were more pressing matters to attend to.

"I won't get to play for the other masters in my condition, but could you at least listen to me?" Kageyama bowed his head in a pleading gesture.

Makarov sighed. "I'm in a quite a hurry, you know, but I suppose I can indulge you for one song."

Kageyama smile turned to a grin. 'I win…'

"Now please, listen carefully," he took a deep breath ready play. "Here I go…OOF!"

In a flash of orange, Naruto rammed into him and pinned him to the ground in one smooth motion. "Gotcha!" He yelled.

"Naruto…Where did you come from?" Makarov asked.

"Sorry to pop in like that, ojichan," Naruto apologized. "This guy's from Eisenwald. We were chasing him before he could kill all the guild masters with the flute."

"Naruto, wait up!" Lucy yelled as she ran alongside the other members from the Fairy Tail group.

"So fast!" was all Gray could say.

"Come back here, Naruto!" Natsu yelled. "I'm not letting you hog all the fights!"

"Master!" Erza yelled as well.

"I was about to look for you guys," Makarov said. "Anyway, you can release him now, Naruto."

"What? But what if he tries something funny?" Naruto protested.

"It's okay," Makarov reassured the blonde. "I will talk to him."

'Stupid flies! Always getting in our way!' Kageyama grit his teeth under Naruto's firm grip. 'If only I played the song sooner, then everything could have changed!'

"I-if you say so, Ojichan…" Naruto reluctantly let go of the pineapple head.

Makarov took a deep breath. "Nothing will change..." He began which purged all the dark thoughts in the Eisenwald wizard's head.

"Weakling will always stay weaklings, but weakness is not evil since humans are weak creatures to begin with."

Kageyama's mouth swung open from the old man's words. It was like he was reading his mind.

"Alone, you feel nothing but insecurity. That is why we form guilds and why we have our nakama, our comrades."

Naruto grinned seeing as there was no longer need to intervene. But Natsu, who was with the others, still wanted to brawl. Erza held him back.

"We walk together in order to live a strong life. The clumsy ones will run into more walls than others, and it may take them longer to get there."

Kageyama started trembling. Makarov's words struck too deep.

"But, if you believe in tomorrow and put yourself out there, you can obtain strength naturally. That is how you smile and live strong."

Makarov's mouth stretched to a grin. "Without having to rely on your creepy flute that is…"

Kageyama sank further into the ground. He was right, after all. He clenched his fist tightly and said, "I…I surrender…"

"Ojichan! That was amazing!" Naruto praised.

"Master!"

"Jicchan!"

"Ji-san!"

The others joined the group singing praises for the old man's words. Erza even grabbed the master and hugged him whilst slamming his head on her armor, while Natsu patted his head like he would do to a dog.

Everyone's enthusiasm disappeared when a creepy cackling sound came from somewhere.

"Kekeke! You mages have no guts!" It was the flute that spoke! "Fine! I'll eat you all myself!"

A/N: *Sigh* Man do I miss writing. I almost forgot about the rush I get when reading and writing, especially with those unfinished anime. So, here I am with another chapter of this (I don't know how to describe this) story. Hope you like this. See ya
