Wade shouldn't have come. He shouldn't be here, but he didn't know how he got here. Looking around, he wasn't surprised where he was. He was thinking of them after all. That's all he could think about for weeks now. Glancing around the playground, he could feel tears forming. He also noticed people starting and whispering about him. He was just about to make a run for it before the cops get called when a little voice stopped him in his tracks.

"It's rude to stare, you know," the little boy glared at the other people around before turning his attention to Wade. "Mr are you ok? You look sad? Did these people say something to you? If so, just ignore them. That's what my mommy said to do when people are mean to me. She said I shouldn't be bothered by what meanies say. I am who I am, and as long as I am kind, that's all that matters"

"Your mom sounds like a smart woman" coughed Wade as he tried to clear his throat better. In all honesty, he was intrigued by this little one. Most kids cry seeing his ugly mug, let alone talk to Wade. This little boy wasn't scared to look at Wade, or even talk to the man. He was concerned for Wade.

" Yes, she is" grinned the boy as he bounced around before sticking his hand out for a handshake " My name is Benjamin Parker. What's your name?"

"Wade Wilson. It's nice to meet you, Bengie" grinning as he took the little hand and gave it a shake.

"How you know I am called Bengie?" Asked Bengie as he pushed up his round glasses, that made him even more cute in Wade's opinion.

"You look like a Bengie to me. Plus I nickname everyone I meet" winked Wade with a grin. He realized he hasn't grinned this much in a long time that his cheeks were starting to hurt.

"I like you, Wade. Wanna play with my Spider-Man actin figure?" Asked Bengie, holding up a small fast food toy "It's not much, but it looks like you could use it" Handing over the toy, Bengie gave Wade a huge grin as he took it from him.

"There you are, Bengie. I told you not to wonder off" Wade looked over and saw a woman walking fast towards them carrying an ice cream cone in both hands. Glancing back to Bengie, he noticed the little boy look guilty before running up to her. Quickly pocketing the toy, Wade turned his attention to the newcomer he guessed was Bengie's mom, or at least a relative since the two looked alike.

"Hi, mommy. I know you said not too. I couldn't help it. I meet a new friend."

Wade had to stop himself from covering his face as the woman looked at him. Wouldn't look the best if he tried to hide now. Wade took this chance to look at the people in front of him.

The woman was a knock out. Snow White blonde hair, gorgeous blue eyes, hips that don't lie. She wasn't as tall as Wade, but not too heavy. Her breasts weren't huge, but they weren't small either. Her shirt seemed a bit big while she wore skinny jeans. Skinny jeans Wade would bet showed off the woman's fine ass. In other words, the woman was a goddess.

With luck, Bengie would inherit his parents good looks. Wade noticed while Bengie shared his mom's eye and hair color, he had to look more like his dad. Even at this age and not even meeting the man, Wade was 99.9% sure Bengie looked more like his dad than his mom. Bengie looked to be around three years if Wade had a guess.

"Sorry, I don't think we have meet. My name's Gwen." Gesturing with her free hand "My son, Benjamin." Holding her hand out to shake the other man's hand, she waited patiently for Wade to introduce himself.

"Wade Wilson. It's nice to meet you. Your son was just introducing himself after telling people off." Shaking his head slightly, Wade stuffed his hands into his pockets. He glanced around before looking back. There was a group of people watching the interaction, some even ready to jump in, or call the cops at the slightest change it could go wrong. Gwen noticed the glance and retracted her hand.

"Bengie, what's he talking about?" Questioned Gwen.

Pain shot through his chest as he noticed the ring on her hand as she handed Bengie his icecream. Pulling his eyes away, he turned his attention back to Bengie explaining what happened in an overdramatized fashion as he ate his ice cream. It took awhile for Bengie to tell his story as he had even finished eating and was now jumping around, punching imaginary bad guys. (Wade knew he liked this kid for some reason)

"I'm hungry. What's for dinner?" complained Bengie as he grabbed ahold of Gwen's hand. Wade happened to notice that ring again. It was like the universe loved torturing him. Reminding him of what he lost. If it was a few years ago, he would have been more upset that she was taken, than that the ring she wore looked similar to Vanessa's ring. (He wasn't looking around for a relationship anyway.) He was able to numb his heart from the pain of seeing it.

"You just had ice cream. How are you still hungry? What would you like to eat?" Asked Gwen.

"I don't know. Maybe burgers?" Shrugged Bengie " Can we invite Mr. Wade?"

"Ah…" stuttered Gwen.

"I gotta go, kid. Got errands to run before work. Maybe next time?" Suggested Wade.

"Ok, next time. Promise?" Asked Bengie, holding up his pinkie finger.

"Next time, ice cream if it's ok with your mom. Can't promise when though" said Wade as he pinkie swore with Bengie. Looking at Gwen, he notice a flash of worry cross her face before she hid it with a grin.

"I don't mind, buddy. Let's leave Wade to his errands and we get burgers. Bye Wade" said Gwen as she guided Bengie away.

"Bye" waved Bengie. Wade waved back before turning away. He knew it was a long shot they would ever meet again, but a small part of him hoped he would.

When he got home that night, he noticed he was holding the toy he got earlier. Grinning down at it, he put it on his nightstand as he fell asleep.

For the first time in a long time, he actually slept though the night without nightmares.
