Yuma: That's the biggest monster I've ever seen.
Quinton: As long as Dyson Sphere has overlay units, any attack mounted against it is negated.
Kite: So that's why Galaxy-Eyes' attack didn't land. But now I know its weakness.
Quinton: If you say so Kite. I know every move you'll make before you even do. After all, I'm the one who taught you how to duel.
Yuma: He was Kite's dueling instructor?
Quinton: Yes. After my father disappeared, my family was torn apart and my brothers were sent to an orphanage. It tore my heart in half to watch them leave, but I stayed behind with Dr. Faker to try and solve the mystery of my father's disappearance. That's when I met Kite and Hart. When I saw them, they reminded me of my own brothers. I liked them right away, and my brotherly instincts started taking over. That's why I began teaching Kite how to duel. He wanted to protect Hart, but he knew he needed to become stronger, so I helped him develop that strength. I was proud of the progress you made, but those days are over. I won't let you stand in my way Kite. Your dueling days will soon be over.
Kite: I place one card face-down and end my turn. Throw your worst at me Quinton.
Quinton: With pleasure. I draw! I know what you're thinking: Since Dyson Sphere has less attack points than your Galaxy-Eyes, I can't attack. But there's something you don't know: my Dyson Sphere has another ability.
Kite: What?
Quinton: Since there's a monster on your field with more attack points than Dyson Sphere, I can use one overlay unit to allow Dyson Sphere to attack you directly this turn.
Astral: A monster with 2800 attack points that can attack directly?
Yuma: If Kite takes this attack, he'll only have 200 life points left!
Orbital: Master Kite!
Quinton: Dyson Sphere, attack directly!
His monster unleashed a flurry on energy blasts that rained down on Kite.
Kite: I play the trap Lumenize! Since you attacked while I have a light attribute monster on the field, your attack is negated and Galaxy-Eyes gains attack points equal to Dyson Sphere's attack!
Yuma: Alright, with that move he can avoid some big damage and raise Galaxy-Eyes' attack to 5800!
Quinton: Impressive, but totally expected. I activate the trap Space Gate! Since Dyson Sphere is on my field, your trap is negated and destroyed, which means my attack continues! This is for my brothers! This attack embodies the suffering inflicted on us by Dr. Faker!
The attack struck and sent Kite rolling on the ground.
Orbital: Master Kite!
Yuma: I don't believe it, he's making Kite look like an amateur.
Kite: 200 LP
Astral: It is quite remarkable. I can detect no weakness in Quinton's play.
Quinton: What's the point in continuing? You only have 200 life points left, Kite. Why not admit the truth? You will never out-duel me!
Yuma: Come on Kite! You can't quit now! If you quit, what'll happen to Hart?
Kite: Hart.
Yuma: Stand up Kite!
Kite: Be quiet. Let me do the dueling and butt out.
Orbital: Yeah, stop with the annoying c-comments, you got that?
Tori: Back off bot! You can be just as annoying as Yuma.
Yuma: Thanks a lot.
Quinton: Don't be naïve Yuma, you should be on my side, not Kite's. Kite is the eldest son of Dr, Faker, the man who betrayed your father. He's also a number hunter, so you can be sure he'll come after your cards if he hasn't already. Can't you see that he's our mutual enemy? It's obvious.
Yuma: No. Kite and I dueled, and that means we'll always be friends. Sure, maybe he doesn't realize he's my friend yet, but he will someday. And because he is a friend, I'll always be on his side.
Quinton: Very touching Yuma. Your father spoke that way about friendship too. Of course that was before Faker double crossed him and my father. They trusted him Yuma, and he stabbed them in the back! Maybe you can forget that and be friends with his son, but I can't. Not since I learned the truth and made up my mind to leave.
Kite: The past doesn't matter. All I care bout is winning this duel and taking your number.
Quinton: You won't. My rage makes me want this win more than you do.
Kite: Enough talk! Let's get back to dueling. I draw! Time to beat the unbeatable. I play the spell Overlay Break! This card will remove all the overlay units from your Dyson Sphere and negate its effect to prevent itself from being destroyed in battle.
Astral: Impressive move.
Kite: Now I can turn your Dyson Sphere into space debris. Galaxy-Eyes, attack with Photon Stream of Destruction!
Quinton: Another move I was expecting. I activate another one of Dyson Sphere's special abilities! When this card is attacked while it has no overlay units, it turns two monsters in my graveyard into overlay units for itself, and since Dyson Sphere has overlay units again, your dragon's attack is cancelled.
Yuma: Quinton has Kite's back against the wall. One more attack and it's over.
Kite: I place one card face-down and end my turn.
Quinton: It's my turn. I draw!
Yuma: Here it comes.
Quinton: I activate the equip spell Gravity Blaster!
Kite: A spell card?
Quinton: This equip spell will allow me to raise the attack points of my Dyson Sphere by 400 each turn, and when Dyson Sphere battles your monster, your monster's effects will be negated.
Dyson Sphere: 2800-3200 ATK
Yuma: Why doesn't Quinton just attack him directly?
Astral: That would end the duel right now.
Quinton: You understand what I'm doing, don't you Kite? Defeating you isn't enough. I want the satisfaction of destroying the card you treasure the most, your Galaxy-Eyes. Dyson Sphere, destroy Galaxy-Eyes!
Dyson Sphere launched an energy beam that struck Galaxy-Eyes dead-on.
Kite: I play the trap Mirror Shade! By paying half my life points, the damage I would take becomes 0!
Kite: 100 LP
The attack struck the ground in front of Kite and knocked him onto his back.
Quinton: You may not realize it Kite, but I'm doing you a favor. You've been forced to carry many burdens these past few years, and now you'll be free from them all. I envy you. You won't have to hunt numbers anymore, or take care of your little brother Hart.
Upon hearing Quinton's words, Kite started getting to his feet.
Kite: You're wrong. I've never thought of Hart as a burden, and I never will. Hart means everything to me. He's the reason I keep fighting on. He needs me and I need him, so I'm never gonna give up, so let's go.
Quinton: If you want to extend this farce, be my guest. It's your move.
Kite: Alright, I draw! Perfect, this is just the card I needed. I play the spell Message in a Bottle!
Quinton: What?! I've never seen you use that card.
Kite: I've never used it before now. This card is the only one my father ever gave me.
Quinton: How could you include your father's card in your deck? You know all the terrible things he's done.
Yuma: You shouldn't judge Kite. He's only been trying to help his brother, the same way you've been trying to help your own family. You've both done things I don't like, but I respect one thing: Kite has hope for his family, the same as you do.
Quinton: Hope for his family?
Yuma: Don't you see that Kite-
Kite: Enough! This feud is none of your business, so stay out of it Yuma. Now that I've played Message in a Bottle, I can summon three monsters from my graveyard as long as they all have different levels and I make their attack points 0. But if I don't xyz summon using them as material during this turn, I'll take 4000 points of damage during the end phase. I revive Photon Thrasher, Photon Pirate, and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!
Photon Dragon
Level 8/Light/Dragon
ATK 3000-0/DEF 2500
Photon Thrasher
Level 4/Light/Warrior
ATK 2100-0/DEF 0
Photon Pirate
Level 3/Light/Warrior
ATK 1000-0/DEF 1000
Quinton: That's your big play? They're too weak to even scratch Dyson Sphere, and you can't overlay them because they all have different levels.
Kite: I'm not done yet. I activate the spell Upshift! This card changes the levels of all my monsters to be the same as the monster on my field with the highest level, so all my monsters become level 8!
Thrasher: Level 4-8
Pirate: Level 3-8
Quinton: No!
Kite: Yes. Now I overlay the level 8 Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, Photon Thrasher, and Photon Pirate! Radiant galaxy, here and now become the striking light, and show yourself! Descend, my very soul! Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!
Rank 8/Light/Dragon
ATK 4500/DEF 3000
Kite: Due to the effect of the Space Field, when I xyz summon, I get to draw a card.
He drew his card and saw it was the final piece to his victory.
Kite: Perfect. And now the effect of Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon activates. When this monster is xyz summoned using regular Galaxy-Eyes as material, the effects of all other monsters are negated. Go, Photon Howling!
Galaxy-Eyes let out a mighty roar and the lights on Dyson Sphere began to go out.
Quinton: This can't be possible!
Kite: It is possible. And now I activate the spell Big Bang Panic! Now Gravity Blaster turns into an overlay unit for your Dyson Sphere and Galaxy-Eyes gains an extra 800 attack points!
Dyson Sphere: 3 OLU
NGEPD: 4500-5300 ATK
Kite: And since Gravity Blaster is no longer equipped to Dyson Sphere, its attack points return to normal.
Dyson Sphere: 3200-2800 ATK
Kite: Now I use one of Neo Galaxy-Eyes' overlay units to activate his special ability, which means Dyson Sphere loses all of its overlay units, and then for each one it lost, Galaxy-Eyes gains 500 attack points!
Dyson Sphere: 0 OLU
NGEPD: 5300-6800 ATK
Quinton: I can't believe it gained so much power.
Kite: This is the power entrusted to me by Hart. Now my monster, attack with Ultimate Photon Stream of Destruction!
Galaxy-Eyes opened its three mouths and launched a massive beam of energy that pierced the core of Dyson Sphere, setting off a chain reaction that caused the whole thing to explode.
Quinton: 0 LP
Winner: Kite
Quinton: I can see now that there are things more powerful than revenge. Deep down, I always knew that was true, but today you helped me remember that Kite.
Kite: Quinton, I mean Chris.
Quinton: It's been a long time since anybody called me by that name.
Yuma: I don't understand why you ever changed it.
Quinton: Like our father, we decided to give up our true names. I was hoping that I could save my father, but Byron Arclight really had become someone else. Vetrix was obsessed with his desire to get revenge against Dr. Faker, and I got caught up in his plans for vengeance. I felt that it was my duty as his son.
Kite: It isn't. Once I save Hart, I'm going to confront my father, and not only that, I'll do what you couldn't do. I'll stop Vetrix's quest for revenge just like you wanted.
Quinton: You've grown strong Kite. I am proud to have been your teacher. It was an honor, and the bond we forged can never be broken. You and Hart will always be like little brothers to me. Goodbye Kite.
A portal appeared behind him and he was pulled inside it.
Kite: Goodbye Chris.
He looked down and saw Dyson Sphere's card lying on the ground where Chris had been standing. He bent down and carefully picked the card up.
Yuma: Hey Kite.
Kite: Yes Yuma?
Yuma: I'll look for ya in the next round. We're both definitely gonna make it there.
Kite: Let's go Orbital.
Orbital: R-right. Mind if we drop by a mechanic on the way home? I'm w-way past due for my annual m-maintenance.
Kite just narrowed his eyes and stared at the robot.
Orbital: I guess I should interpret that surly gl-glare as a no. Guess I'll have to do it myself. I just hope the robo-union doesn't catch wind of th-this.
He opened his chest panel and made quick work of repairing himself.
Orbital: Okay, all systems go!
He attached himself to Kite's back and they took off. Meanwhile, Quinton arrived in Trey's room to check on him, but when he made it to the bed, he lost his energy and collapsed against the bed.
Quinton: I feel so tired.
Yuma: Vetrix and Dr. Faker have to be stopped.
Astral: Perhaps that is my true purpose here. We know that your father is in Astral World. What if he sent me here in order to intervene somehow?
Yuma: I'll bet you're right. My dad wanted us to team up to stop Dr. Faker and Vetrix.
Tori: You think you can do it?
Yuma: Yeah. I promise, we'll stand up to them and stop their mischief for good. My father is counting on us.
Hey everyone. Sorry this is a day late, but my computer was having trouble accessing the site. Hope you all have a good weekend.
